Need recommendation on managing partner link URLs

I have a BPEL process that interacts with two web services. I have test versions of those web services and production versions. I would like to be able to deploy the exact same copy of my BPEL process to both test and prod without having to make any adjustments. In other words, how can I setup my BPEL process so that it connects to the test web services when deployed to the test BPEL server and connects to the production web services when deployed to the production BPEL server?

You could take a look at bpel1012tasks.zip at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/documents/adminwebinargoodiesbag/index.html.
This contains a number of custom ant tasks which can be used to substitute host/port/domain information in bpel.xml and .wsdl's as well as being able to deploy to a remote apps server from obant.
I had a couple of problems configuring it initially, so take a look at this forum post bpel1012tasks

  • Partner Link URL/WSDL or Dynamic Partner link

    We are using a service similar to CreditRatingService in orderBooking Tutorial as a partner link.
    The partner has different test vs production service.
    I was wondering during deplyment on production is it possible to specify the URL in config file or do I have to change the designtime location in jdev and then deploy it in prod.
    Can experienced folks here point me to deployment best practices ?
    Part2 : Where does dynamic partner link fit in ?

    JDeveloper is using ANT and is using a properties file during the compilation. You can change the properties when you want to deploy.
    http://orasoa.blogspot.com/2006/08/using-ant-in-bpel-environment.html
    Dyn PL are usefully when you want to call multiple/various web services that all take the same payload, but are using different end-points and operation. This reduces the code to make for every interface an PL.

  • Dynamic Partner Link.

    Hi,
    does anybody have an idea how to create a dynamic partner link.My requirement is that I recieve the service URL from database and then need to create a partner link to send message to that external service on that URL obtained.
    Anybody have any info on that .Please let me know.
    Thanks
    Deepthi.

    I haven't build this yet, so just some wild guesses.
    <variable name="partnerReference" element="wsa:EndpointReference"/>
    <assign>
    <copy>
      <from>
       <EndpointReference xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/addressing">
       <Address>http://localhost:9700/orabpel/default/UnitedLoan</Address>
       <ServiceName
         xmlns:ns1="http://services.otn.com">ns1:UnitedLoan</ServiceName>
       </EndpointReference>
      </from>
      <to variable="partnerReference"/>
    </copy>
    </assign>If i see this peace of code, you should be able to assign the address of the service.
    This value you will receive from the database service.
    This partnerReference variable you will use for the invoke of the partnerlink

  • Problem while creating partner link using https URL

    Hi,
    To create the partnerlink using https URL, I had done the following:
    -Imported the self signed certificate into the OraBPELPM_\jdk\jre\lib\security\cacert
    -Added following entries in OraBPELPM_1\integration\jdev\jdev\bin\jdev.conf
    AddVMOption -Djavax.net.ssl.keyStore=E:\OraBPELPM_1\jdk\jre\lib\security\cacert
    AddVMOption -Djavax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword=esbtest123
    I am not able to create partner link using URL https://localhost/orabpel/default/ErrorHandlerBPEL/1.0/ErrorHandlerBPEL?wsdl .
    Able to create partnerlink using same URL if I replace https with http.
    Did I miss any other configuration that needs to done to create partnerlink using https in JDeveloper BPEL Designer.
    Thanks,

    Hi,

  • Partner Link https (SSL) wsdl url

    I'm getting an error in the "Create Partner Link" dialogue when specifying an https-based wsdl url. The non-ssl wsdl url works fine, but I need it to work for ssl (https). The specific errror reads:
    Error:Failed to read wsdl file at "https://serverstuff/webservice.cfc?wsdl", caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException. :sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
    What do I need to do to get the https wsdl to validate? I'm using jDev 10.1.3.2. When I deploy the BPEL, will I need to do anything on the app server? I've seen a lot of similar questions on this forum with no definitive answers. Also, the BPEL dev guide does not address SSL.

    Hi dharmendra,
    Yeah I copied server certificate into the relevant folders. Do i copy the .cer file into that folder or place it another folder and copy the same to <ORACLE_SOA_HOME>/jdk/jre/lib/security folder?
    My Jdev_JRE_HOME and ORACLE_SOA_HOME are pointing to the same jdk.
    What do you mean by by importing the certificate to Oracle BPEL and Jdeveloper? Is it importing into 'cacert'? Yeah I did that too.
    Actually in the blog the step for generating the SSL based axis webservice is just not quite informative,since following the steps I am not able to actually properly generate axis 2 SSL enabled webservice.That's Y i couldn't generate the server certificate properly. Can you give some more detailed steps for generating the SSL service?
    Thanks.

  • How to manage multiple operation within the same partner link ?

    Hi,
    I have a partner link with 2 possible operations : "sayYes" and "sayNo".
    I want to do the following : if the operation is "sayYes", I return "YES", if it's "sayNo", I return "NO".
    (not really complex... in theory)
    In my WSDL file, I have the following :
         <message name="TestPickRequestYesMessage">
              <part name="payload" element="client:TestPickProcessYesRequest"/>
         </message>
    <message name="TestPickRequestNoMessage">
              <part name="payload" element="client:TestPickProcessNoRequest"/>
         </message>
         <message name="TestPickResponseMessage">
              <part name="payload" element="client:TestPickProcessResponse"/>
         </message>
         <portType name="TestPick">
              <operation name="sayYes">
                   <input message="client:TestPickRequestYesMessage" />
                   <output message="client:TestPickResponseMessage"/>
              </operation>
    <operation name="sayNo">
                   <input message="client:TestPickRequestNoMessage" />
                   <output message="client:TestPickResponseMessage"/>
              </operation>
         </portType>
    The returned value is in a string variable : "return_value".
    I've created a "pick" activity :
    <pick name="Pick_1" createInstance="yes">
    <onMessage portType="client:TestPick" operation="sayYes"
    variable="inputVariableYes" partnerLink="TestPick">
    <sequence name="Sequence_1">
    <assign name="setReturnYES">
    <copy>
    <from expression='"YES"'/>
    <to variable="return_value"/>
    </copy>
    <copy>
    <from variable="return_value"/>
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/client:TestPickProcessResponse/client:result"/>
    </copy>
    </assign>
    <reply name="replyOutputYES" partnerLink="TestPick"
    portType="client:TestPick" operation="sayYes"
    variable="outputVariable"/>
    </sequence>
    </onMessage>
    <onMessage portType="client:TestPick" operation="sayNo"
    variable="inputVariableNo" partnerLink="TestPick">
    <sequence name="Sequence_2">
    <assign name="setReturnNO">
    <copy>
    <from expression='"NO"'/>
    <to variable="return_value"/>
    </copy>
    <copy>
    <from variable="return_value"/>
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/client:TestPickProcessResponse/client:result"/>
    </copy>
    </assign>
    <reply name="replyOutputNO" partnerLink="TestPick"
    portType="client:TestPick" operation="sayNo"

    When I deploy and test this application, I have a huge problem : if a choose a "*sayNo*" message, my application do the following :
    The "pick" activity logs :
    <inputVariableYes>
    - <part name="payload" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
    - <ns1:TestPickProcessNoRequest xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/TestPick">

    </part>
    </inputVariableYes>
    I have a right "*TestPickProcessNoRequest *" message type.
    BUT, the next activity is "setReturnYES", instead of "setReturnNO".

    Can anyone tell me where I'm wrong ?
    It looks like the "pick" activity always go with the first sequence...

    Hi PhunkyBob,
    I also had a hard time, finding out that the problem was with the BPEL console and not with my processes -.-
    Perhaps it's the Browser, I too use Firefox. Did not try it in IE yet.
    Here is the solution, try to switch to XML View and then change the Operation! (you will notice that it changes properly) Then you can either send it that way or return to HTML View.
    I have always to it that way,.. gets really annoying when I have to test a process many times :-/ ...change to xml, change operation, back to html, making entries, send...
    If someone has a solution, other than changing the Brwoser, please post :-)
    greetings,
    Michael

  • Unable to create new Partner Link with wizard

    Hi!
    I am trying to create a new partner link using the wizard using eclipse SDK. I get the following errorwhen I attempt to choose a wsdlLocation on the local BPEL server:
    "Failed to retrieve service list from http://[local_host]:[http_port]/BPELConsole/xmlGetProcessList.jsp?domainId=default&password=bpel"
    Cause: Invalid Syntax
    Potential Fixes:
    Make ure that the BPEL server has been started, check syntax of WSIL document, check network settings and WSIL document URL.
    I do not know what to make of this error. I am using the Oracle BPEL Process Manager for Weblogic. I have already started the server and I can logon to the console without any issues.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi
    Thank you for reverting.
    I am able to connect / logon using the browser. I use IE 6.0. The port # is 9700 and host is defined as 'localhost'. I even tried changing it to 127.0.0.1 in my Eclipse 3.0 SDK configuration; but no avail.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    In java I hold the response XML string between the <response> tag and with the DOM parser I am able to insert the response data into central server.
    Now I want to do this in BPEL, I am getting the response from N partner links but I am facing the problem while inserting the response data into central database.
    Let me know if you have any idea or small example to achieve my requirement.
    Note: All partner services were implemented in bottom up approach.
    Have a good day,
    Thanks in advance,

  • Problem Creating Partner Link for Adapter Integrating with Tuxedo using JCA

    Hi All,
    This is the first time that I am working on integration tools. I will explain in brief the problem.
    There will be a legacy system (Tuxedo) running which connect to legacy database for requests. I am able to connect to that legacy system using Attunity Studio for getting the response back. Which is working fine.
    Now I want that to integrate with BPEL PM 10.1.2 using JCA. For this I followed this URL (http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/904/how_to/oc4j-jca-tux/onjava-jca.html). What happens here is, a simple servlet invokes a Session Bean that interacts the Attunity Server using the JCA. For that I am using oc4j container of BPEL PM 10.1.2. I could able to work it fine.
    For working with BPEL, I have created synchronous process, when try to create Partner link using Adapter service from WSIL browser, it is not coming in.
    Am I missed any important configuration at BPEL PM end.
    For doing this a followed the "tutorial 2" @ http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/adapters/dev_support.html
    In exact way, above provided tutorial 2 PDF, I failed at step "Configuring a BPEL Service to invoke the above Adapter Service" on page 11.
    Your help is highly appreciated
    Thanks
    Venkata

    Something to note. I tried adding the same BPEL services as partner links to a new application and new project on two other developer's workstations, and the creation of the partner links were successful.

  • Icloud manage storage link not working on my iphone 4s

    I need to manage my icloud storage, but the manage storage link on my iphone is not working. When I click on it, nothing happens. Can anyone help with this problem? I don't want to buy more storage if I can turn off some of my apps in icloud. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

    Had the same problem recently (on an iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1). The phone couldn't back up to iCloud as the storage limit had been exceeded, and tapping "Manage Storage" in the iCloud settings didn't work: it just briefly showed a spinning wheel but I couldn't enter the Manage Storage screen. Looks like a bug.
    In the end I was able to solve it  via the iCloud settings on a laptop. Using this route, I removed the backup that was clogging the available 5GB free storage and was able to access Manage Storage again to tweak the settings. In my case this meant disabling iCloud backups of photos in the camera roll, which was the reason for the large size of the backup file in the first place.
    Here's what I did:
    1. Important step: first of all, make a backup of your phone in iTunes by connecting it to the computer and chosing the backup option in iTunes. You will delete the iCloud backup in step 3, so it's best to have another backup handy. It's not very likely your phone will crash in the short time it takes to complete these steps, but better safe than sorry.
    2. After making the full phone backup, I downloaded all the photos from the camera roll onto my computer and deleted them from the phone. There are different ways of doing this, on a Mac you can for instance use Image Capture. This step is not really necessary to get the backups working again as you will probably disable camera roll backups in step 3 anyway, but it's good to get into the habit of backing up photos on the computer regularly, rather than in iCloud. If you want to keep some photos on the phone as well, you can always copy them back from the computer onto the phone.
    3. Access iCloud storage management via the computer rather than the iPhone. Instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847 > Backup > Deleting backups and turning off Backup for your device > Mac OS X (or Windows 8, Windows 7 and Vista). If you use a Windows computer and the iCloud control panel hasn't been installed yet, you can find it here http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html.
    I don't think you can delete specific elements like the camera roll from the backup this way, you have to delete the whole thing. But you made another backup in step 1 so this isn't really a problem.
    4. On the iPhone, try to access Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage again - it should work now. In the next screen, choose your iPhone and you will get the Backup Options where you can switch backups on and off for different apps. It shows you how much storage each app takes, you will probably see that the Camera Roll is the largest so you may want to switch that off. Once you're happy with the settings, go back two screens to Storage & Backup and switch Icloud Backup back on (it was automatically switched off in step 3), and if you are on Wi-Fi, tap Back Up Now so it makes a new iCloud backup right away.
    That's all, hope it solves your problem.

  • Dynamic binding of partner links with different payloads

    In dynamic binding of partner links, can we have different payloads for different
    webservices ?

    Hi Marc,
    I have one question regarding the use of <xsd:anyType>, Before that let me clear our requirement. We are trying to create a BPEL flow (Consumer) which has the ability to call other webservices (Producers) dynamically. There can be a number of Producer Webservices performing the same task. The end user should be able to add new Producer Webservices and remove already existing ones. We achieved this using EndPointReference (http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/bpel_cookbook/carey.html) but the problem with this approach is that all the producer webservices have to work on a common schema. We want to support webservices working on different payloads.
    My understanding is that when we map the XML document to xsd:anyType in the service's WSDL file, the producer web service need to have an implementation of this type in for of a java class. Is this correct ? Or can we provide the java implementation in our code itself? Can you please point me to some detail documentation on xsd:anyType?
    Thanks
