hi...i need some idea from someone to give some idea, advice or some excersice/toturial about " how to increase buffer size" on my final year project, i have try find the solution..but it's still have problem on my oscilloscope.VI. I was design my final year project using LabVIEW 8.6 and now i state my design for someone to refer my project.

Don't know if this is what you're searching for, and I don't know if there is such a function in LV 8.6, but I'm using LV 2010 and under DAQmx Pallete, you go to "Advanced Task Options", there is a function "Configure Output Buffer", in which you can configure the buffer size you want.

Ideas for a final year project

I am in the final year of my studies. At the moment I can not decide what to do for my project, I have few ideas but I would like to hear from someone else for an idea as well. I would like to know what kind of project I could do in distributed java. I would appreciate any of your ideas

Do you have time to learn all new areas of Java? If so, then what areas interest you
1. sockets - the web or http, ftp, etc
I'm just finishing this web-bot... it was a great learning process, but it can get quite involved.
Specific examples beyond my web-bot would be a chat program (as already mentioned), a web browser and/or server, an ftp server and/or client
2. threads - this can be applied to any area and in some cases it is mandatory - like the chat program that was suggested (unless you make the program very very simplistic).
3. GUI - this is surprisingly an interesting area.... a friend of mine wrote a program that does graphing... it is really amazing. Graph theory is huge in computer science and many other areas of life.
Specific examples beyond the graph tool would be word processor type programs,
4. AI - obviously Java doesn't have an AI library, but using some heuristics, you could make an interesting program that could be capable of using heurisitics and "learning"
5. Encryption - Java has good support for this. This could be applied to any communication tool (web browser or server, ftp server/client, etc).
6. I did a packet sniffer... but to be effective, this should be written in C or C++ (for speed reasons). Although you could grab a random C or C++ packet sniffer off the web (I got sniffit for Linux) and then throw a Java front-end on it.
If you don't have much time - what areas of Java do you have experience in? Give us the libraries you have looked at and maybe we could throw out some suggestions about what sort of programs could be made using those libraries.. my opinion may be biased towards writing a web-bot if you have experience with Threads and java.net

Need some ideas for programmatic/dynamic ADF BC using JDeveloper 10.1.3

Using ADF Faces 10g, I built a page which is used to upload an excel file to the server. The contents of the spreadsheet is further parsed into a 2 dimensional array. In addition, I am able to determine the database table information from the worksheet name (table name) and row 0 (column name). I can certainly construct a sql statement and attempt to insert this data into the database. However, I would like to create updateable business components to display it back to the user in a af:table and also utilize built in validation methods. Is it possible to create an updateable entity based vo where the underlying table/columns are defined at runtime? Ideas are appreciated.

Final Year Project Ideas

Hi Guys,
I have to submit my idea for a final year software project and I'm thinking of doing an Air Traffic Control Simulation application written in Java. The air traffic control idea is fine. I think it is a pretty cool project to work on for a college project. I did one where we (3 man team) simulated a street intersection. Half of it was all math, probabilities, statistics, etc. We had to find a way to optimize the traffic light times so that there was no major backups, mainly the Northbound righthand turn lane which always backed up for at least a mile during rush hour. On top of all of the math and simulations, one of the guys created a GUI for it overnight for the underlying simulation. I think this was a 1 month project, so that was about 3 man months, and almost 1/2 of that was gathering data, and determining what probability distrobutions to use, and putting them into code.
for the air traffic control, it could be very similar. Would you just be doing the the landing of planes? Or would you do take off and ground location of planes as well?

I would like to find someone who can guide me in developing a system for my final year project ( title:Event Correlation Analysis System).As i am not really good in programming i find it very difficult to start in code the program.Whateva it is i need to develop the program in order to be graduated.I am having a very hard time here as this title is given to me by my lecturer who is expecting me to do everything..Please anyone help to guide me.

Hi Amir,
I can think of a dozen different projects. You could check the functionalities in Oracle's eBusiness Suite (Oracle Applications). For instance you could implement a human resource module (employees details, salaries etc), or a employee time card application. Why not a resource booking system (conference rooms, beamers, computers etc).
All these examples could easily be split into parts. Say for instance time reporting. One group could implement the interface to the employees, one group the interface to the managers, to the human resource department, and there's also quite some administrative setup modules.
What project proposals have you come up with yet?

For my final year project, I have to create a mobile phone simulation in that multiple mobile phone users would be to particicipate in a chatroom just like text messenging. The messages sent would be read by all the users in that chatroom.
Does anyone know how about I go in doing this? Im planning to use Java as my programming language and a mobile phone simulator but dont know where to start. Any suggestions? Much appriciated!! :-)

As a final year student you should be able to put
some effort into finding stuff out yourself. These
starter questions pop up frequently, so the search
should come up with more than enough information for
you! If not, I bet google will!I agree. I am a final year student as wel and also have to write a Java program to display XSL-FO info on a PDA. Just google around a bit to get started, once you get it started it's not that hard. Certainly your application shouldn't give to much trouble I think.

Final Year Project Advise

I am currently studying computing science at the University, and will be entering my final year this September, Having previously studied and experimented with JAVA in my last academic year I am keen to use this language for my final year project.
However I have yet to find a company that is using this language or able to offer me a topic that I could research for this project.
Any help would be appreciated. Or I've been thinking if I should switch and do something about networking.

You could do something with java and networking.
I would suggest you look at the open source project and see if you could either do something better, simpler, an extension etc.
Have a look at the projects at http://www.java-source.net/ and http://www.sourceforge.org/
This should give you more than enough ideas.
For job prospects I suggest you look at the job market and what kind of jobs you might like. Then look at the skills they are looking for and try to choise a project to see if you really like them or they may help you get that job.
