Need to provide local machine overrides

Hi,
Our users have their home directories served up from a network file server. For certain machines we now need to provide local home directories for some, but not all, users, i.e., dave logs into machine foo and gets /Users/dave but on machine bar he gets /server/fs0/dave. Fred, on the other hand, gets /server/fs0/fred on both machines.
We've used a per machine mapping in our ODS which makes ALL users get the /Users/username on foo, but we ideally want to make this a per user decisions.
I thought I'd found how to do this when I saw the per machine Accounts ACL in the Workgroup Manager but, sadly, that doesn't appear to allow for overriding the home directory setting.

I am trying to migrate an application from Windows Server 2003 (32 Bit), IIS 6 to Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 Bit), IIS 7.
But i am getting The 'IBMDADB2' provider is not registered on the local machine error when i am trying to connect to DB2 via application. However i am able to connect to DB2 directly via DB2CMD.
"Provider=IBMDADB2; User ID=xxx; Password=yyyy; Data Source=zzzz; hostname=aaaa;"

Hi,
I installed Visual Foxpro OLE DB driver for accessing dbf file and tried to get the data from the dbs file through BIDS.
I made one report using BIDS its working fine.
But once i deployed this report to SSRS its giving an error that “The 'VFPOLEDB.1' provider is not registered on the local machine."
My SQL Report services is 64 bit i realaized that Visual Foxpro OLE DB will not work in 64 bit application.
Its there any work arround for these kind of issue. I need to keep 64 bit ssrs because this is production server other reports are there.
Please let me know is there any solution.

As you know the report designer is 32 bit, if you have installed the 32 bit data provider it will works fine in the designer but not work on the 64 bit report server.
When you deploy a report to a 64-bit report server (x86), the report server must have natively compiled 64-bit data providers installed. Wrapping a 32-bit data provider in 64-bit interfaces is not supported.
In your scenario, please try to do below setting to have a try:
Click the IIS manager in the start.
Edit the Advanced Properties of the application pool in which the application is running and set "Enable 32-Bit Applications" to "True". If you don't do this you see the error message that kicked off this whole thread.

We just have switched our local server from 32-bit to 64-bit machine and now we have Windows Server 2008 R2 Service
Pack 1 with MS Office 2007. On server we are running an application in ASP.Net 3.5 using visual studio
2008. All users have 32-bit windows 7 and MS Office 2007.
when user tries to import data from Excel to Database (SQL Server 2005), error comes as
"microsoft.ace.oledb.12.0 provider is not registered on local machine".
I have tried a solution by installing Access Database Engine 2007 Office System Driver on the Server, but the error
was same. Now what should I do to resolve this problem??? Should we install Office 2010 64-bit on the Server or is there any other solution???

Provider 'Microsoft.SQLServerMPPOLEDBProvider' not installed on local machine - Power Pivot/PDW

Hello,
This is my first post, so I apologize if I'm violating any etiquette or protocol here. I've scoured for answers to this question and found none, so this is my last resort.
I'm using Office 365 Excel (64-bit). In my Excel Data Model, I have tried to connect to our SQL Server 2012 PDW by selecting 'Other Sources' and 'Microsoft SQL Server Parallel Data Warehouse'. After inputting the server and login information, the connection
fails, citing that "The Microsoft.SQLServerMPPOLEDBProvider is not registered on the local machine."
I can't find any information about this provider, and when I change the provider to any other value in the connection string, it fails as well.
Does anyone have any ideas about where I might find this provider and why it wasn't registered in the first place?

Hi Jess,
For the PDW you have to enter the path to an IDS file containing the connection information, please see the article below:

In addition, PDW v2 support sqlncli11 or, the driver used to connect to sql server 2012. Please use that to connect.

I am having my oracle 11g 64 bit database in RHEL linux 64 bit server. My Visual Studio .Net 2008 64 bit application is running in server having Windows server 2008 64 bit OS and oracle 11.2.0.2.0 client 64 bit.
When I try to connect the database through the oracle client its working fine and I am able to connect through the development mode of visual studio 2008. But when I try to run in the IIS the following error is coming:
The 'ORAOLEDB.ORACLE' provider is not registered on the local machine.

This is not an Oracle database problem, never mind a database server language (PL/SQL or SQL) problem.
The problem you've described is with a Microsoft product, Visual Studio 2008. The server you refer to is Microsoft IIS. The error you list is an error with a Microsoft proprietary technology called OLEDB (part of Microsoft's Component Object Model).
Just where does Oracle PL/SQL and SQL languages, the subject matter of this forum, feature in your problem with Microsoft proprietary technology?

The problem is very simple: if I publish de flash-menu for
ACCESS LOCAL FILES ONLY I resolve the problem, but i lost the GET
variables than I'm using for trace the option selected in the menu
to mark it in the next page. In the other hand, if i publish for
ACCESS NETWORK ONLY simply the menu doesn´t work in a local

That requires the users machine for a ftp server installed and to be "visible" to the conc program server, the first one requiring setup and configure for every client and the second one may be a problem if in different segments or security policies. Another approach may be to generate the files on the server in a known location and from the client create a batch script to connect to that server and retrieve the file(s). You may schedule the program to run at certain hours or use a shortcut so the user can run it on demand

I need Home directories on local machines, not on server

I'm setting up 10.5 server and OD. I have 10 mac workstations (all 10.4), each with established users and home directories. I have set up new users on the server, in the directory domain the exact same as they are set up on the local workstations (same long name, short name, and password. Obviously they have different UIDs and GIDs). I have user home folder paths set to None, accept the diradmin folder, which is set to /Users.
When I log in as a OD user other than diradmin from a workstation, I see my home folder as "99". I'm not sure why this is, but it appears to create this home folder locally. I don't like this.
When I log in as diradmin from a workstation, it creates a folder home folder called "diradmin" on the local mac. This is better.
Ideally, what I'd like is the home folder always be located on the workstation, even if logging in from a different machine, so preferences, email, tunes, etc. are there. I DON'T want home directories on the server due to bandwidth limitation of our network. I want home directories to say as-is ((on local machines) and just change how users log onto their workstations (using LDAP instead of NetInfo).
Questions:
1. Can I have the same long/short name and password on the workstation, and in the shared directory? If not, will just changing the long name be enough to differentiate, or does the short name also need to change?
2. Is it possible to have my home folders set up as described (living on the local workstation and shared in logging in from a different mac)? If so, how? I've read the apple docs and nothing seems to clearly describe how to do this.

HELP! How to save resultset (NOT file) from server databse on local machine

Our JSP web system allows our clients to be able to search data from the server-side database and then after get the resultset, they also should be able to save these data as a text file on their local machine by just a click. Of course, before they click the OK button, they should navigate the files system on their local machines and choose under which directory they want to put the file, and then provide a file name. I could NOT find a way to be able to navigate the local machine's drives.
I know there is a standard Save As dialogue automatically launched by the browser. But my problem is: I don't need such a pumped-up Save As... dialogue which most brower will provide, because our system will have an interface which will provide the same function as the Save As guy. And this is the part that I am currently working on. Our interface will permit the client to browse their file system and then provide a filename, and then click OK to save the file. PLEASE, anybody who can help me. I know there are guys there have answers for my questions:
1. In my JSP program, I save the resultset I get from the database as a string, and then this string should be sent through inputstream and outputstream and be saved as a text file onto the client's local machine. I know there's a lot file download topics but I am dealing with a string instead of a file, is there an inputstream accepting a string(which contains dataresultset) and output it to a file?
2. As I already said, how to make my own Save As... dialogue?

Well, it's hard to interpret exactly what you want to do but I'll take a stab.
I would put the data into comma separated value (CSV) format and then stream it back to the browser using the "application/csv" content format.
By doing this, they can either save it to their hard drive into the directory of their choice, or open it using whatever mapping they have for the CSV mime type. For most Windows machines, this is Excel (if it's loaded).

JDBC/JSP/MySQL Code works from my local machine, but not on server

I've been struggling with this problem for a while.
I have a database from which I need to read and display some data on a browser. (The database is set up for remote access).
I'm using the following JSP/JDBC code to do that.

I'm unable to figure out why this code can be run locally from my machine, but not from a different location. The database is NOT on my machine.

I'm using an Apache Tomcat container and the database is MySQL.

The database is on another (3rd) machine.

3. Place I'm moving my code to (its basically a hosting account provided by an external company)
I can access the database from my local machine. However, when I move the code over to another machine, it doesn't work.

JavaMail applet working on local machine - but NOT on my webpage

My code works on my machine as an applet run through my Eclipse IDE.
I have the Applet deployed on my website, which is the same server as the email server itself.

}1) I know my code works on my local machine - so it's not related to a code bug.
2) I know that all class files are uploaded correctly and working in a single JAR file. The other 3 classes I use work fine in this applet.
3) I receive no errors of any kind - it just appears that my constructor may not be called, or the instant java mail API is mentioned, the applet just refuses to work.

2) Don't tell me I need a server application. It's supposed to work according to documentation, without it.

Is your applet signed properly? Note that you have to sign all the jars for the applet -- including the JavaMail jar and the activation jar -- using the same signer.

Need to provide local machine overrides
