Need to update an app that has an old apple id.
i have an apple app with an old apple id and cannot update the apple app because my old apple id has been disabled.
If you see someone else's Apple ID, then no, you can't update someone else's app.

yes i did. this all started happening when i transferred my mobile.me account to icloud. i can't even reset that password. it keeps taking me to the new one.

I'd suggest deleting it from your device and your Apps library and then re-download from iTunes.

Some of my apps are used on my old apple ID but then I lost my bank card visa had to get a new one then the transactions went thru that I made on my old apple ID and now it asks me to update my billing info cause I had got a new card and I tried doing that but it wouldn't accept my security code (the three numbers on the back of the card so I had to make a new account and that new account accepted the new card just fine so it wasn't the cards problem and now I can't update my apps used on the old APPLE ID because it wants me to pay off the transactions I made on that account but I can't pay it off cause it wont accept my new card.. So i don't know what to do. Can't just delete the apps cause one of em has a bunch of my music on it and te other that needs updating is too big of a file to redownload since I have no Internet now and the iPhone only lets you download 20mb or lower apps without wifi

- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
Thus, it appears you have apps that need updating that were purchased from more than one account. -
i am trying to set up icloud on my iphone when i go to settings icloud it says verifying and a box pops up for me to sign in with my apple id but that has my old apple id on it. help??
Have you already verified your "new" email address? If not then please check your inbox for a confirmation email (also the junk folder). If you do not have a confirmation email then please sign in at https://appleid.apple.com and press "verify" for confirming your email address.

I restored an iPhone backup that has my old Apple ID
I restored my iPhone 5s today with an old backup that was associated with my old Apple ID and now it is asking for the password to an Apple ID I no longer have. I can't use iCloud on my iPhone now and the phone keeps telling me the password is wrong. I tried entering the old password that matches the old Apple ID and my current password. Neither will work. I tried to change my Apple ID back to my old one but it says that is my recovery e mail but it is not my current recovery e mail. Please help.
Try going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I cannot update my apps in the app store because it asks me to sign in using an incorrect username account. The username in settings-general-apps is correct and the username on the App store page is correct. The only place it is incorrect is when I try to update my apps. How do I update the username when trying to update apps?
I had the same thing happen today on my wife's phone. I couldn't find any answers on the support site and of course I could not get any help from Apple since my phone was old. I kept digging and figured out how to fix the problem. I opened the app store app and signed out of the old id and then signed back in using my new id. It looks like this may have fixed the problem.

When I initially download an app on my iphone, I use my current apple ID. When I appstore tells me I have an update for an app, it asks me for a different apple ID, which I no longer use, nor know the password to.
Go to Settings/Store and verify your apple id stored there. You can tap on it and sign out, allowing you to log in with your new apple id.

Delete those apps that are not under your Apple ID and re-download them using your Apple ID.

Hi maggieanntb, your sister's Apple ID came up because an app(s) was downloaded using her account. To prevent that from happening, you would have to delete the app(s) that were downloaded on her's, and re-download them using your own Apple ID.

I need help please. I have 6 apps updates shown on on the upper right corner of the app store icon. When i tried to open the apps store and go to updates, the apps that need to be updated were not appearing therefore i have no idea what those apps are so that i can update them.
