Needed to search a file

Hi All ,
I need to search a location of file mybuild.properties from unix. How cvan i ?
Can any one guide me on this. ?
Thanks in Advance
Sachin

find / -name 'mybuild.properties'
This syntax searches starting from /
If you want to start from any other directory, please replace / with that directory.
Also you can try to use locate command, which is available in some Unices.

    Firefox downloads files automatically when opening a opening a search result. What setting do I need to change to have the search result file (pdf. or whatever) open instead? Something changed yesterday and I lost the ability to open the files vs. download.

    Hello,
    Normally, when I use my online account, when i select a document to open with excel or with adobe, the applicaiton installed on the PC, is used to open the files.
    Can you check the under control panel, default programs, and see what program  is associated to the PDF files?
    When you try to open one of those pdf files from your back, what happens?
    If you download them to the HDD, are they automatically associated to ADOBE?

  • DSX-S310BTX Media Player: How Do You Need To Label mp3 Files On Flash Drive To Search Internal USB?

    I have a DSX-S310BTX Media Player.  I'm connecting a Flash Drive to the Internal USB port of this device.  On the flash drive the mp3 files are labled by Title, Contributing Artist and Album.  However, when a song is playing, the main display doesn't show the name of the song, and I can only do a "File & Folder" search by individual songs, but not by artist or album.  Is there a specific way I need to label the files on the flash drive to be able to search the flash drive by song, artist and album?

    Hi Triton,
    You may try renaming files in your USB flash drive by title of the song first.
    Thanks.

  • Search Remote Files... or ...How Do I Delete All of My LCK Files?

    hey everyone.
    i need to delete a bunch of .LCK files from my server so
    Dreamweaver
    will stop telling me someone else has stuff checked-out and
    that i need
    to enable blah blah blah. i can't just check everything in
    because A.
    that would take forever and B. the "person" who has them
    checked out is
    actually me, from a previous site definition that is now gone
    because i
    had to recreate it.
    unless i'm missing something (and i've been spending some
    time looking
    for it), there doesn't seem to be a way in Dreamweaver (at
    least in
    version 8, which is what i have) to search for files on the
    remote view.
    and even if there was, it doesn't look like the remote view
    displays
    hidden files, i.e. .LCK files.
    my server control panel does give me the option to search for
    files
    using the file manager, but it only searches the folder you
    have
    selected, and no sub-folders. there are hundreds, maybe
    thousands of
    folders on this thing, and it would really take a long time
    to click on
    each and every folder, search for the .lck files, and then
    delete them.
    so, my question is, what would be the best/easiest way to
    find and
    delete .lck files (or really, any file for that matter) on
    the remote
    server?
    thanks!

    i do NOT want check-in/check-out enabled. i'm trying to get
    rid of it
    altogether, but i tried selecting the checked out files to
    check them
    back in, and it said there were none.
    there is no "unlock" option, so i guess i need to pick check
    in. but
    here's my question, since it's this other instance of "me"
    that has them
    checked out, will this work? it's not recognizing me or my
    computer or
    whatever as the person who has them checked out. i think it's
    because i
    had to recreate my site definition about a week ago or so,
    and i deleted
    the old one. so it's like a user that no longer exists has
    them checked out.

    It says I have over 150 gigs of video on my hard drive. But I have gone through and deleted almost all of what shows up, still it says there is roughly the same amount on the hard drive. Where are these files? I want to delete them so I can have my hard drive clear.
    Thanks for your help guys!

    Quote from the article.
    Time Machine in OS X Lion includes a new feature called "local snapshots" that keeps copies of files you create, modify or delete on your internal disk. Local snapshots compliment regular Time Machine backups (that are stored on your external disk or Time Capsule) giving you a "safety net" for times when you might be away from your external backup disk or Time Capsule and accidentally delete a file.
    So what makes a notebook any different then a desktop, other then with a desktop you might have your tm backup drive connected all the time.
    The object here is to not indiscriminately delete files you need or want to keep. I personally have never deleted a file I wanted to keep.
    In essence a backup is for catastrophic failure of your system. So it can be restored once that failure has been fixed. Not because you go in willy nilly and start deleting files.

  • How do I stop Windows 7 from searching hidden files and folders

    In XP it was simple with the intuitive Advanced Search Options.
    Even if you enable "Don't show Hidden Files and Folders" in Windows 7, they still show up in the search menu.  A similar post included a suggestion by a support dude to post a question here.  I've searched for every possible solution and yet something so simple appears to be non existent.  Has Microsoft just lost its mind with omitting this feature?  Is this something that will never be solved?  Indexed or not, hidden files and folders still appear in Search.
    Thanks

    what have you setup in Explorer->Organize->Folder & Search Options?
    Don't show hidden and Hide: Empty, Protected, etc. all ticked
    if you have at some stage indexed all those system folders, and subsquently removed those from the index scope, then you may need to rebuild the index so those results are not presented by searches?
    i've assumed that you are getting things like \windows included, and this seems to be typical. perhaps because some common tools like notepad, wordpad etc reside in those folders.
    have you checked out the Indexing Options?
    from memory, "don't show hidden & system" really only obscures the stuff when you're browsing in explorer. the indexing engine doesn't respect that kind of setting. you'll need to get your indexing scope worked out to affect the search results presented.
    I'm not concerned much with indexing, it's just amazing that there is no option to stop "Search" from searching hidden files and folders when "Don't show hidden" is checked - the way it was with XP, etc.  As I understand it whether folder is indexed or not, will not stop "SEARCH" from searching them.  It was quite simple in XP but in Windows 7 it seems it is impossible.

  • How to search for file within compressed file

    I hope i can explain this correctly, I apologize in advance.
    What is the command to search for a file that may/may not exist within another compressed file?
    Situation is that I have a cron job that compresses the files in a folder on a scheduled date. I now need to search for a file that may exists in one of the several compressed files, which was a result of the cron job.
    Thanks in advance

    There's an open source utility called zgrep. You can probably get it from http://www.sunfreeware.com/ .

  • Can I search zip files for a particular substring in the name and extract the file to a folder?

    I need to search through lots of zip files, looking for files starting with a particular string.  Then extract them to any folder.  Can I do this in CVI?
    thanks

    thanks Wolfgang, but my level of experience is such that I could use a bit more detail.  Do you mean that I might find a .dll and call one of its functions from CVI?   So you know of nothing in CVI that I can use directly?  I don't think that I would want to open the zip, extract all the files, search the folder where they were extracted to, copy the file if it has the target name substring, then rezip.  Or, maybe there is a more direct solution.
    Any thoughts?
    thanks

  • Indexing and Searching PDF Files

    Hi All,
    I am trying to store and search PDF files in the oracle database.
    I can insert and index the PDF files just fine but cannot get any result. I always get No Rows.
    Here's what I am doing and the issues I am facing.
    I created a Table with fields
    ID (VARCHAR)
    NAME (VARCHAR)
    DOC (BLOB)
    I inserted the PDF file in the BLOB field through a Java program and insert worked fine as I verified by retreiving the PDF and writing to file.
    I created index using following SQL:
    create index my_index on PDF_TABLE(PDF_FLD) indextype is ctxsys.context
    parameters ('datastore ctxsys.default_datastore
    filter ctxsys.inso_filter');
    The index was created successfully without any problems.
    I ran query as follows and got no rows although the searched text is in PDF
    SELECT SCORE(1), PDF_FLD from PDF_TABLE WHERE CONTAINS (PDF_FLD, 'Table of Cotents',
    1) > 0;
    I tried alternate queries as well with no luck.
    Any ideas ??
    Thanks

    After creation the index you need execute next operations.
    first, check that your index tables conatins indexed terms. Execute
    select token_text from dr$YOUR_INDEX$i;
    Second, you will need to check the index errors table CTX_INDEX_ERRORS. This is owned by the user CTXSYS, and most users do NOT have # SELECT privilege to it by default.
    If it's OK, then check that your PDF documents is supported by INSO filter.
    Citation:
    "PDF - Portable Document Format
    Acrobat Versions 2.1, 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 including Japanese PDF"
    (Appendix B. Supported Document Formats in Oracle Text Reference 9.2)
    For Oracle 9i you could install 9.2.0.4 patchset (it included INSO FILTER 7.5)
    P.S.
    for the beginning, you could find answers for your question about Oracle Text here

  • How to search to files based on the metadata of the category in CS

    Hi,
    Can any one tell me how to search the files in the content services based on the metadata of the Category,I know how to search based on the Category using

    WsUtility.log("File " +resulItem[j].getName());
    But how do one search Based on the attributes of the category??
    thanks
    kveni

    Download the PM accelerator kit appropriate to your environment, and check out the TestSearch2.java example.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/cs/developer/contentservicesdev/contenservicesdevkit.html
    Essentially you need to lookup the internal names of your category attributes, as well as have the internal name of your category class.
    categoryClassName = ...; // e.g. AHC_XXX
    attribute1name = ....; // e.g. CUSTOM_MYBOOLATTR
    you then create a normal search expression such as
    String attribute1Operand = "[" + categoryClassName + FdkConstants.SEPARATOR + attribute1name + "]";
    SearchExpression expr1 = new SearchExpression();
    expr1.setOperator(FdkConstants.OPERATOR_EQUAL);
    expr1.setLeftOperand(attribute1Operand);
    expr1.setRightOperand(Boolean.TRUE);

  • "Search in Files" inside .ini files

    I use the site search and search in file features in Dreamweaver quite often but I just discovered that if I have a folder full of .ini files and I need to search globally inside those files Dreamweaver returns no results.
    Apparently, DW is unable to search inside files other than HTML, PHP, CSS, JS, etc. But it won't search in .ini files or any weird (for DW) file extensions.
    I once was able to set up my DW to look inside PHTML files (Used by Magento) as well as applying code coloring to them as it would on PHP files.
    I suspect this is a similar process but I wanted to make sure I was not seeing things. Is DW really that dense that will not search inside a file with an extension it doesn't know?
    By the way, I did add .ini to the recognizable files in preferences, but obviously that's not enough to have DW search inside them.
    OFF TOPIC COMMENT
    Another weird thing I just noticed is that the "asset" and other modules will only work in WYSIWYG view. Meaning that if I save a color in my assets I cannot use it to insert it in a CSS file. Not even in code view. I have to be in the visual editor for it to work, but then it's useless to me.
    Incidentally, some time ago I found that the visual editor in DW is actually very useful when working with dynamic websites like Drupal or wordpress. Especially when dealing with very large pages with lots of CSS files.
    However, no one IO know would or should build their sites in the visual editor. It's simly a bad way to work. Why would adobe limit the use of the "assets" pane (and the "History pane too now that I remember)  to the visual editor is beyond me in this day and age.
    I do a lot of tasks where it would be greast to copy a procedure like a substiotution and have DW repeat the same procedure on other pages or similar code snippets. Yet, it won't alow me.
    I love Dreamweaver and I am actually writing a book on how to use it with the likes of wordpress, drupal, etc. It cuts dowen development and design time by less than a third. If those things worked everywhere instead of just in the visual editor it would cut down even more on the time it ntakes to design dynamic website templates.
    Sorry about the rant.
    Thank you for any help.

    Hi David, I too have worked closely on a lot of software projects and I am well aware of the limitations. In fact, that's one of the reasons I lioke to work on open source projects because of the vast talent pool they can utilize. Private companies, no matter how big, neet to triage new development according to their resources.
    By the way, adding the .ini files to the extension.txt files in Dreamweaver is pretty easy. Since code coloring is not an issue that's really the only change I need to make. When I integrated the PHTML file extension for Magento I had to make a lot more changes (still manageable though).
    One of your comments, about DW keeping its legacy features in a changing web development world, made me think that it may be time for Adobe to spawn a different IDE or start thinking about a more modular approach to the application.
    I am writing a book on Dreamweaver integration for Open Source web scripts and when talking to other open source developers, one thing that comes up often is that Dreamweaver is a "bloated" program  (this is not my complaint, by the way).
    Part of the issue is that it needs to keep a lot of quasi-obsolete features so that long time users won't abandon the platform. Which featrures are obsolete is really up to each user. For me the WYSIWYG view is certainly not something I would use to design web sites, but should Adobe get rid of it,  it would absolutely destroy my workflow since I use it to rapidly target HTML, CSS and even Core PHP code in the template and the file system of the scripts I work with.
    The new "Live view" in CS4 was a welcome addition, especially since the basic page rendering in DW leaves a lot to be desired (Incidentally Microsnot "Expression" page rendering is a lot better, making the live view feature less exceptional except when troubleshooting JS based effects).
    Anyway, that said, DW is an extensible program and there are a lot of thrid party utilities written for Dreamweaver. Couldn't the Adobe team use this extensibility to make improvements to the interface and even use it to add or subctract features from the main application?
    I think they are mising an opportunity here to capture a wider audience. DW could ship with a minimal set of features and the team could choose to release their own add-ons so that users could build their own application.
    I think that approach would silence a lot of critics, since the basic app would now be a lot slimmer, while still giving power and legacy users the features they need a-la-carte.
    I am actually hioping that once my book comes out (if it ever does: the publishing world moves at a snail's pace) it may give the DW team a new perspective on how to use Dreamweaver in a modern web development enviroment, but honestly my biggest hope is for one of the current open source projects like Eclipse to look at my development system and maybe add some Dreamweaver-like features so that finally there would be a real open source alternative to Dreamweaver. In turn, I believe that will make DW move a bit more quickly in adding new features and shedding the obsolete ones.
    Anyway, thank you again for the links, I did submit my suggestions. I am not holding my breath but we'll see.
    Take care

  • How to create search index files for Java Pet Store

    Hi All,
    As you may know, the java pet store application uses for the search function a search index object, which itself uses the following files '_36.cfs', 'deletable', 'segments'.
    Now as I want to change the data of the database (delete some pets, and names, etc.), it does not have an effect on the search results. This is because the application uses the search index files and does not use the database for the search query.
    So can anybody help me and tell me how I can create this three files from my *.sql file, so I can search in my own data?
    Thank you very much for your help.
    Regards,
    Wolfgang

    gonso777 wrote:
    Solved:
    I had the same problem. It seems that the installer does not unzip three files where it should.
    With NetBeans (Using File Perspective) or just editing build.xml
    Netbeans: select build.xml/Run Target/Other Targets/unzipindexes: Tough it should work it fails in resolving $javaee.domaindir$ at least in my system, but it does suscessfully create a new directory named ${jee.domaindir} that includes lib/petstore/searchindex and three files: _36.cfs , deletable, segments.
    Copy those three files to your_glasshfish_path/domains/domain1/petstore/searchindex.
    Now you are done. I hope that you had a nice time while waiting two years for it to be answered. How is it that it is not answered anywhere else?

    www.sciencetechworks.comThanks. I didn't wait 2 years for this, but I just replied on a 2 year old post. I only recently tried the petstore app. I thought I needed to study lucene first to figure things out, it turns out there was an 'internal target' on the build file for this. Thanks a bunch!
