Netboot Errors when starting Service Please Help

Hello,
I'm new to the forums so please let me know if you need additional information.   In Server Admin when I attempt to start Neboot Service I get the following error
The Service has encountered an error
Try to refresh the view (servername/netboot)
(Cannot_start_service_err)
When I refresh the view it looks to be on.
I also get another error in the server log which is:
servermgr_netboot: Failed to start tftpd
I get that error the same time I try to start netboot any insight would be greatly appreciated.  We don't have DHCP or DNS running on this server and I don't believe that would cause these errors.  I actually setup a test server on a laptop without those services running and was able to successfully netboot, I believe some configuration files got corrupt.
Thanks for your help in advance

It sounds like your tftp.plist is missing.

  • IChat error when starting. PLEASE HELP!

    Hi
I have had iChat for a while now. I have always had no troubles with the connection. But there is a problem. When I head to my Grandmothers house {which has a NetGear router} an error pop's up when I try signing on. It says " You have attempted to login too often in a short period of time." I always wait a few minutes and then try it again, but it still happens. This never happens when I sign on to iChat at my house, or my friends. I have tried the port number, settings, nothing works. *PLEASE HELP ME!*

  • Application Error (0xc0000005) when starting iTunes - Please help

I get the following Application Error message when I try to start iTunes:
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application."
I cannot think of anything that has changed on my PC, but something must have. It may be that this is the first time that I tried to open iTunes after rebooting following the upgrade to 7.2, but I certainly was able to open iTunes 7.2 before rebooting.
Any help or advice on how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Error 2380 when starting burn please help

This error has been driving me nuts for 4 months now. Is anyone else having the same problem.
Here is what the CD dianogtic says:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 family, Professional Service Pack 1 (Build 3790)
    System manufacturer System Product Name
    iTunes 6.0.3.5
    CD Driver 2.0.4.3
    CD Driver DLL 2.0.3.2
    UpperFilters: InCDPass (4.3.12.0), incdrm (4.3.12.0), GEARAspiWDM (2.0.4.3),
Video Driver: NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT\GeForce 7800 GT
IDE\DiskMaxtor7L300S0_________________________BANC1G10, Bus Type ATA, Bus Address [0,0]
IDE\CdRomLITE-ONDVDRW_SHW-1635S_________________YS0V___, Bus Type ATA, Bus Address [0,0]
IDE\CdRomNEC_NR-7900A___________________________1.08___, Bus Type ATA, Bus Address [1,0]
If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.
Some computers need an update to the ATA or IDE bus driver, or Intel chipset. If iTunes has problems recognizing CDs or hanging or crashing while importing or burning CDs, check the support site for the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard.
    Current user is administrator.
Failed while scanning for CD / DVD drives, error 2380.
Error while opening iTunes CD driver. This could be caused by a corrupted iTunes file or a conflict with other older CD burning applications, either currently installed or previously installed and uninstalled incorrectly.
The last failed audio CD burn had error code -128(0xffffff80). It happened on drive on -128(0xffffff80) media at speed 0X.

try this...i had a 4000 burning error, and this fixed it...I went under My Computer, then right clicked on the cd drive that I used to burn, go to properties, went under the auto play tab, selected the action to perform button for each individual category(dvd, blank cd, music cd) selected the no action icon for each category. Then went to the recording tab and unselected the enable recording selection. Now I can burn every time! If this fixes it for anyone else let me know!

  • Unknown Hard Error when reformatting. Please help.

Hi, I was going to reformat my HD but got the following error after I inserted the Recovery CD into my CD Rom.
    STOP: 0xC0000221 unknown hard error
    C:\Winnt\System32\Ntdll.dll
Error 0X 80070456: The media in the drive may have changed PREIN ST6.SWM
Could someone kindly help me please?  Is it safe to abort now?
    Thanks.

    Hi KadeP,
there is indeed not a solution for that CD-problem, since you are getting it when installing from the CD not after the installation, when there is a problem with that specific file on your harddisk.
So, apart from the checking of the CD for physical problems (dirt, dust, scratches) the only other solution would be the use of another CD and maybe doing a full disc-copy of that CD onto a CD-R or CD-RW and hoping the best.
As for the Vista procedures the hatter described, all these has to be done before even installing Vista and also on a Windows PC.
The outcome of that would be a modified Vista Installation DVD, which seems to be installing even on iMacs not really supported.
Since I don't have Vista I never tried it myself, though.
But the hatter is 'our local Vista/Windows 7 genius'
As for the 'old XP CD' you found:
such behaviour/error is usually a sign that the XP CD is not at Service Pack level 2 (SP2) which is a must for XP CDs.
However, you can use these instructions http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxpsp2slipstream.asp to 'slipstream' yourself a XP SP2 installation CD.
But again, you have to do it on a running Windows PC.

  • Group property errors when starting services

I'm having some problems with SMF in Solaris 10. When booting the system, three services (rpcbind, cron, and sac) fail to start with SMF and enter a maintenance state. As a result, the system never makes it to multi-user-server level. When looking at the verbose boot output, each service fails with the following command (rpc/bind for example):
svc.startd[7]: svc:/network/rpc/bind:default: Could not interpret group property.
When I try to start rpcbind manually, it starts without any problems except the following entries are sent to the syslog daemon:
rpcbind: [ID 837648 daemon.alert] unable to get enable_tcpwrappers cannot use unset argument
rpcbind: [ID 855099 daemon.alert] unable to get verbose_logging cannot use unset argument
rpcbind: [ID 494153 daemon.alert] unable to get allow_indirect cannot use unset argument
I have tried looking at 'svcs -x'. With regards to rpc/bind, all services that it depends on have started and are online. Several services which depend on rpc/bind are offline because rpc/bind has not started and is in a maintenance state.
I have looked at the /var/svc/log/network-rpc-bind:default.log file but no entries were made. This is true for /etc/svc/volatile as well.
Any suggestions on what could be causing this problem?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, the properties of my implementation of rpc/bind are the same.
However, I did discover the problem. I tried a pkgchk on the package that contains rpc/bind (SUNWcsr) and discovered that it had the wrong group settings. I checked /etc/group and the entry for the root group was incorrect, (this might have happened while I was converting the root account to a role). I corrected the entry and the service started without any problems.
    Thanks again for the help.
    Mike

    Second Step:
    Thanks for helps...

It seems like the JVM is pointing to incorrect .dll file.
Goto Apache bin directory, and from there open Apache[version]W.exe
Click the "Java" tab and ensure the first textbox "Java Virtual Machine" is pointed to the correct jvm.dll
If it was pointed to the JDK then it is wrong. Repoint it to the jre jvm located at \jre6\bin\client\jvm.dll
Let me know if it resolves the issue.
