  • New Features for Java GUI

    Hello everyone!
Can anybody tell about new features in SAP GUI for Java. I think It's emasculate now. It doesn't contain New ABAP editor, Network graphic, normal Screen Painter... I really enjoy adding themes and other stuff, but when these functionality will be added?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I use Java GUI from version 6.40, so i didn't know new ABAP editor for years. Once somebody shows me its features ...and I found that it is really good editor compared with previous Notepad-like frontend editor. But I have to say that customized version od Gvim used as external editor is in 90% better then new ABAP editor (the only problem is that double click on object doesn't work, but some workarounds are known for double-click on locally defined objects).
Graphical screen painter is generally good tool, but once I cannot find any feature (sorry, I forgot which one, it happens about 6 years ago). I ask a SAP guru sitting near me. He comes, switch graphical screen painter off and click to a box in non-graphical version of screen painter. Then he told me that some features are not accessible in graphical screen painter. It was last time I used graphical version of screen painter.
Themes? Works .... at least for me (Linux 32 bit and now Linux 64 bit too).
So I think that Java GUI is usable (at least on Linux/Mac, I am not sure how in works under Windows) but you cannot stick on all features (and maybe you can find better working variants of it). E. g. I have no problem with new ABAP editor, it would be much better for me, if I can open external editor clicking to "Change" button in SE38 directly instead of click plus selecting external editor from menu.

  • Can't create engine: a new feature with Java Plug-in 1.6.0-beta2 ?

    Hi
We use Java.Help embedded in an applet to check small pieces of text. The whole things works without problems until recently: the full text search does not work anymore when the applet is called with http, it does work when it is called as File in the browser. I suspect the automatic upgrade of JRE 1.6.0-beta2 is related to this.
    I have tried to put
    grant codeBase "http://www.unifr.ch/dokpe/procedures/procall.jar" {
    permission java.security.AllPermission;
}in my security file but it does not change the problem.
    The url is http://www.unifr.ch/dokpe/procedures/index.htm
    Thanks for any help

  • New features in 1.5

    Hi,
Can some direct me to a good resuource which descibes abut the new features introduced in the 1.5 release like Generics?
    Thanks in advance,
    Apu

This article takes a quick look at many of the new features:
    http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/releases/j2se15/
Then there's the generics tutorial which describes generics in greater detail:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5/pdf/generics-tutorial.pdf
Draft specifications for the new language features are included with the current prototype compiler:
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/earlyAccess/adding_generics
Most of them contain helpful examples, even if you don't want to read about all the implementation details.

  • A potential bug on the new feature (12c) of Identity Column?

    Hi,
I am testing a newly introduced feature of Identity Column in Oracle 12c. I used EclipseLink (JPA) to access the database.
I may have found a potential bug with this feature. I am getting "ORA-30667: cannot drop NOT NULL constraint on a DEFAULT ON NULL column" when I try to insert a row. My code doesn't explicitly drop "NOT NULL" constraint.
When I delete all the tables under the user and re-define the user and the tables, the error disappear.
    Here are the details:
    Error:
DatabaseException Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 ORA-30667: cannot drop NOT NULL constraint on a DEFAULT ON NULL column Error Code: 604 Call: INSERT INTO MyTable (ID, SOMEID, SOMEDATE) VALUES (?, ?, ?) bind => [null, 100100147, 2013-11-29 Query: InsertObjectQuery(cus.entity.MyTable@1a9ea5b)
    Table definition:
CREATE TABLE MyTable (id NUMBER GENERATED BY DEFAULT ON NULL AS IDENTITY PRIMARY KEY,
          someId INT NOT NULL,
          someDate DATE NOT NULL,
          PARTITION BY range(someDate)
          interval(numtodsinterval(1,'year'))
          SUBPARTITION BY HASH ( someId)
          SUBPARTITIONS 20
           PARTITION p0 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-12-2013', 'DD-MM-YYYY'))
Could anyone tell me if there might be a bug associated with the new feature or if there was something wrong with my code?
I would be appreciated if anyone can help.

"here is a reproducible test case in the SCOTT schema - if it reproduces for you open an SR with Oracle"
Yes. I have just followed the instruction you posted and managed to re-produce the same error I reported earlier. Here are the details of the script output following your posted instruction:
    table MYTABLE dropped.
    purge recyclebin
    table MYTABLE created.
    1 rows inserted.

  • New features in Oracle 10g

    Hi,
is someone able to say what new features will be included in Oracle 10g from Workspace Manager point of view? I've looked on http://otn.oracle.com/oramag/webcolumns/2003/techarticles/new_features_preview.pdf but there is nothing about OWM. Particularly I'm interested in:
    1. Possibility of historical data archiving and reloading - see topic Historic data in version enabled tables
    2. More sophisticated support for database export/import (there is possible to export/import full database only)
    3. Java API for OWM - see topic Java API for OWM?
    Thanks
    Ondrej

    1. Possibility of historical data archiving
This is not available in 10G
    2. More sophisticated support for database export/import (there is possible to export/import full database only)
Table level import//export is supported in 10G
    3. Java API for OWM
No Java API support in 10G
    regards
    Arun

    Using JRE_HOME: /home/normal/jdk1.5.0_04

The JDT compiler that Tomcat installs by default is only 1.4 compliant.
    You can use ant instead:
    remove the common/lib/jasper-compiler-jdt.jar file
place ant.jar file from the latest Ant distribution in the common/lib folder.
If you do this, you also need to use the "javac" argument to catalina.sh.

    Hi Anurag,
    Thanks for your questions.
1:Is there change in DB architecture as CUIC is the only option as compared to previous linux version UCCX ?
I assume this is from the tables regarding historical data. The database schema essentially remains the same since UCCX 9.0 had CUIC too and we had a seperate DB Space for CUIC and we still continue with that. The traditional historical tables remain and the replication process remains the same too.
2:Is there any version change for Linux OS used as VOS,
The Linux version is Red Hat Linux 5. To be precise:
    [root@uccx10pub /]# cat etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga)
3:Is there any API architecture change in UCCX 10 from previous releases ?
I can answer this more of an overview. The only enhancement in the API side is the introduction of REST API step in the script editor. You can now make REST calls from the script and this ofcourse opens up a whole new world of possiblities.
4:Since from UCCX 10 , we can only use either CAD or Finnesse at one  time, whats the impact of changing this after some time in production,  let say , i used CAD for 2 months and then i decided to move to Finesse,  whats the impact ? or is it a smooth change as switching CUIC and HRC  in previoius release ?
For the scenario you mentioned, there is absolutely no problem. The point to note is that the Finesse services are activated/deactivated but the CAD desktop services are ALWAYS running. The only condition to keep in mind is that you can use ONLY ONE type of agent desktop at any time.  Also if Finesse is not used and CAD operations are used extensively, it is advisable to shutdown the Finesse service.
5:Is 3rd Party UCS hardware supported by UCCX 10 instead of using Cisco manufactured UCS , can i use HP hardware for Virtualisation ?
Yes, it can be used. This is something called as "Third party specs based specification". The most important things seen for compatibility are:
    Inter CPU Model
It it is on thVMWare Hardware Compatibilty List
You can get more information about this on the "Can I use this server?" section of UC Virtualized Hardware page:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/UC_Virtualization_Supported_Hardware#.22Can_I_use_this_server.3F.22
    6:Is Host name change supported?
Yes, the hostname change is supported. The prcocedure is documented in the UCCX 10.0 Administration Guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_10_0/configuration/guide/UCCX_BK_W1AF9DDD_00_uccx-admin-guide-10.0.pdf (Pg 168)

    Abhiram Kramadhati

  • New Feature EHP1

    Hi Folks ,
I tried the IDoc XML to  IDoc Flat File conversion , using the new feature available in PI 7.11. Below mentioned is a BLOG that I used as a reference.
How to Use User-Module for Conversion of IDoc Messages Between Flat and XML Formats
However, everytime I am getting an error message in the Reciever Channel :-
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.conn.idoc.IDocException: (0) IDOC_ERROR_INITIALIZATION: Exception in record factory. Check the configuration of ResourceAdapter.
    Please advice !!!

    Abid,
How did you resolve this problem. I am getting the same error whether I use port number as 3601 or 01 in Java connection factory creation.
Does this error is related to connection factory creation or the destination creation.
The error I am getting is
"Adapter Framework caught exception: (0) IDOC_ERROR_INITIALIZATION: Exception in record factory. Check the configuration of ResourceAdapter"
    Thanks

  • New to XML+Java: which is the best API?

    Hi,
I am new to XML+Java and I am trying to develop an application that will both read and write to an XML file. After reading some tutorials, I decided that jaxp, sax, and org.w3c.dom.* are rather low-level and very unfriendly.
After a cursory web search, I came to the conclusion (please correct me if I am wrong) that JDOM and DOM4J are the most easy-to-use free APIs. So I would like to ask which one of the two (or any other API) is the "best"? With "best" I mean larger user base, better documentation, more features, less bugs, active development community (i.e. if a bug gets discovered, it will be fixed). I don't want to start building my application, just to realise 6 months later that the API I've chosen is very limited.
Your experience is much appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Thanks guys. It seems that there is no clear answer as to which one should I use.
I will start using dom4j because it has more convenience methods and it heavily uses JCF, which I am very comfortable with. Although it seems that the learning curve is steeper (more complicated API) it is probably worth the effort.
    Thanks again for your responses.

  • 10 new features to the oracle dataabse 10g

    Hi all.
Recently, I have been interivewed and I have been asked to list 10 new features of Oracle 10g.
    I told him about:
    1) Here, stats have been collected automatically, in oracle 9i it was manual
    2) AWR
    3) RULE based optimizer is not there only in oracle 9i
    4) ASM
Anything else which you want to mentioned:

The Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM) analyzes data in the Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) to identify potential performance bottlenecks. For each of the identified issues it locates the root cause and provides recommendations for correcting the problem. An ADDM analysis task is performed and its findings and recommendations stored in the database every time an AWR snapshot is taken provided the STATISTICS_LEVEL parameter is set to TYPICAL or ALL. The ADDM analysis includes:
    •     CPU load
    •     Memory usage
    •     I/O usage
    •     Resource intensive SQL
    •     Resource intensive PL/SQL and Java
    •     RAC issues
    •     Application issues
    •     Database configuration issues
    •     Concurrency issues
    •     Object contention
    ASM
Automatic Storage Management (ASM) simplifies administration of Oracle related files by allowing the administrator to reference disk groups rather than individual disks and files, which are managed by ASM
DBMS_FILE_TRANSFER Package in Oracle Database 10g•     Common Usage Notes
    •     COPY_FILE
    •     GET_FILE
    •     PUT_FILE
Flashback New Features and Enhancements in Oracle Database 10g•     Flashback Query
    •     Flashback Version Query
    •     Flashback Transaction Query
    •     Flashback Table
    •     Flashback Drop (Recycle Bin)
    •     Flashback Database
    •     Flashback Query Functions
    Oracle Data Pump
    STARTUP UPGRADE
The is a new startup mode associated with the upgrade procedure in Oracle 10g.
    SQL> STARTUP UPGRADE
Automatic Shared Memory ManagementAutomatic Shared Memory Management puts Oracle in control of allocating memory within the SGA. The SGA_TARGET parameter sets the amount of memory available to the SGA. This parameter can be altered dynamically up to a maximum of the SGA_MAX_SIZE parameter value. Provided the STATISTICS_LEVEL is set to TYPICAL or ALL and the SGA_TARGET is set to a value other than "0" Oracle will control the memory pools which would otherwise be controlled by the following parameters:
    •     DB_CACHE_SIZE (default block size)
    •     SHARED_POOL_SIZE
    •     LARGE_POOL_SIZE
    •     JAVA_POOL_SIZE
If these parameters are set to a non-zero value they represent the minimum size for the pool. These minimum values may be necessary if you experience application errors when certain pool sizes drop below a specific threshold.
The following parameters must be set manually and take memory from the quota allocated by the SGA_TARGET parameter:
    •     DB_KEEP_CACHE_SIZE
    •     DB_RECYCLE_CACHE_SIZE
    •     DB_nK_CACHE_SIZE (non-default block size)
    •     STREAMS_POOL_SIZE
    •     LOG_BUFFER

  • 10.1.3 ADF Swing New Features Question

One of the 4 new features for ADF Swing in JDeveloper 10.1.3 is stated as:
    "ADF Swing
In the past, deploying an ADF Swing application entailed deploying the ADF runtime libraries,
and then packaging and deploying your application class files.
This process has been simplified so that you no longer need to deploy the ADF runtime libraries
as a separate step; instead, they are automatically packaged with your application files."Can someone tell me if this is configurable? For instance, you would rarely want the above to occur if deploying using Java Webstart since it would guarantee a FULL download every time you made a small change to any class. This would basically eliminate versioned or incremental downloads of jar files.
    Thanks
    Erik

Thanks Frank, but your answer is just more confusing.
Here is what the new features document states:
"This process has been simplified so that you no longer need to deploy the ADF runtime libraries
as a separate step; instead, they are automatically packaged with your application files."
    Notice the statement in bold.
I would expect that statement to mean that ALL of the ADF classes that are normally contained in their respective jar files will now be "automatically packaged" into MY application jar file, so that I have 1 jar file.
    Now looking at your answer:
"If the application class files changed, then only those class files will be jarred and signed. ADF jar files are not signed again."
The statement in bold indicates that the ADF classes will still be contained in their respective jar files. Therefore, can you tell us what "automatically packaged" means in this conext? Normally, I would think it meant packaged inside a jar file, but from your answer, that cannot be correct.
    Thanks
    Erik

  • New features I like Oracle to include in Oracle Forms

I believe Oracle Form is the best tool to develop Database Application in Oracle Database. The weakness I see in Oracle Forms 10g may be its deployment as Java Applet. Java Applets are to be downloaded in the client browser, that's why it's not lightweight as PHP/ ASP/JSP scripting technology. So as a true web application it is not really handy.
Oracle provides JDeveloper/ Apex to accomplish that. But JDeveloper is very complicated to understand and Apex is rigid and you have little freedom on your user interface design, you cannot design a page as freely as you do in Adobe Dreamweaver for PHP. We as Form developer want oracle to develop a new development tool with following features:
    1. Language will be PL/SQL.
    2. There will be simple drag and drop interface design.
    3. It will generate HTML/JSP page so that it can be light weight.
    4. Provide a wide range of packages to accomplish javascripts/ajax while using PL/SQL language. Developer will just know what to do and by what technology javascripts/ajax, and accordingly invoke packages from withing PL/SQL editors.
    5. Will have good old simple look in Form Development (JDeveloper is so complex and Apex is so shy in revealing it's features) while having same even better inner strength of developments.
    6. Will require no client side tool like jinitiator or jre
    7. Better and easy or even no use of web_util package but still accomplish file/image/spreadsheet access
    Bye
