New Numbers Layout

Is there any way to view/convert to the old list style of workbooks/tables down the left hand side ?? I'm not getting on with the new version where they are all along the top as it is time consuming scrolling all the way to the end to get to the last one ?? thank you for your input !!

Done all that. Actually found that LOCK (in arrange) was an issue when I found that I could move one sheet about but not another. The problems that I'm encountering:
1. I set Rulers and go to print. When I return, Rulers have disappeared. Cannot seem to make Rulers permanent.
2. Cannot set "page view" so I can see where my worksheet(s) are on the page. It shows up in Print but I cannot seem to move anything about.
3. Moving about (dot in top LH corner) is only giving me the ability to align top & LH edges, not centre or RH edge. I can set my sheet in the top LH corner. I have a centre mark and RH mark but no idea where the worksheet is relative to an A4 page.
4. Cannot change sheet from portrait to landscape.
5. Also, a second or subsequent sheets do not show top of next page, just LH column. "Page View" seems to have gone missing.
6. Item 1 would not be a problem if I could line up all the sheets in the middle of an A4 page with a page skip between each sheet.
7. When selecting Auto Fit when printing, I was expecting the sheet to fit one page. However, it fits page from LH to RH margin but length goes over to next page. If I reduce the content scale to fit back on one page, the page stays fixed to the LH & top borders.
I have lots of idifficulty with Numbers. I think there are changes for changes sake. Not found any changes for the better so far. Just struggling to stay afloat.
PS. In the middle of writing this, I got an update to Numbers - didn't solve any issues above.

    Hi there,
    I loved the layout view.  I could work with my document, add and remove cells, resize the documents before I decided to print.  Now I can't do the rezing before I print, so I have to go to print to see how it is layed out on the page and if I don't like it, I can't add / delete / resize cells without backing out into the edit pane.. 
    This makes my editing more time consuming..
    Does anybody know if there is a way to replicate this funcionality in the new numbers??

    The temporary solution you sent me will allow me to edit my existing files.  I received another file from an iPad today and that would not open it without version 3.0.  I am now behind 50 reports that cannot be billed because of formatting problems.  My records [reports] are reviewed by 3 national inspection agencies as well as state and local agencies. These agencies have the ability to shut the major corporations and municipal operations down based on my records.  My records can not be late incomplete or inaccurate.. 
         I must conclude that IMac and Ipad’s are no longer suitable for business use for myself or my sister companies. The IMac’s can still be used with office for mac but the Ipad’s must be used for pictures and music at home.  I will advise all sister companies that I will no longer accept data in pages or numbers and can no longer provide reports for their technicians in those programs.
         I am deeply disappointed that after almost 2 years development that proved to be a great savings in time due to iMac iPhone and iPad dependability the project must be scrapped because an update did not add features or correct problems. It removed features and added problems.  The reports sent to me from Ipad’s must be completely rebuilt before they can be used.  They were emailed which further degrades their usability.
             I will go this evening and purchase Windows products that are suitable for business.  I can not wait until Macintosh gets around to a fix [if they do] Because of the numerous hours spent converting these forms to mac and now back to Microsoft I am extremely offended at the lack of consideration for my time and support. Between reports I will take my break and get my frustrations out by writing bad reviews on every business forum I am a member of or simply can find.  You are costing me money time and frustration. 
             My conclusion in every forum will be Macintosh systems are very dependable but cannot be trusted due to software changes that delete common features necessary to do business.  They are not concerned with your business or time.  They may or may not react but as a business consumer I have to get the job done not wait for them to realize their mistakes and get around to making the products they sell usable.

    I have a question. We are analysing the implementation requirement of Note 1486147 ( New Form Layout for 16A however stucked with a new message which required to be maintained in CLass J1IN. We do not have this class available in SAP and not sure if there is another OSS note for that or this will be maintained in Service Pack. I am new to this Client and what I can confirm that since last many month , Finance service packs have not been applied here.

  • How can I convert an old Numbers file to be compatible with the new Numbers version, without having access to the old?

    I received a Numbers file created in iWorks version 8 or earlier, but only have the newest version of Numbers on my MacBook Air. I can't request the sender to reformat the file. Is there any way to convert the file so I can open it in the new Numbers version?

    Are you sure you don't still have Numbers from iWork '09 on your MacBook Air. My Mid 2012 does. To be certain you can look in the Applications folder to see if there is an iWork 09 folder. You can also use Spotlight search to see if it will find that Numbers as well as the current one.

  • I upgraded to the new Numbers, but when I try to open an edited spreadsheet, I get this: "You need a newer version of Numbers to open this spreadsheet. You can download the latest version of Numbers from the Mac App Store." Help!

    When I check for upgrades, my computer "No updates available" and says "OS X Update Version 10.9.2 installed Mar 9, 2014."
    When I go to the app store to get the new Numbers, it says "installed". 
    I shut down and rebooted my computer, but I still get the message that says I need new Numbers to open the spreadsheet that I want to open. I can open other spreadsheets, those all work.  I just can't open the one I want.  Please help. I need the data on that spreadsheet TODAY!!!

    If you try to invent your own syntax, you are starting on very wrong basis.
    The required syntax is defined by the Numbers AppleScript's dictionary.
    This one doesn't know what is a template.
    This is why, in the link posted by badunit, I use an other scheme to create a new document.
    I know that it's awful but it's the only one available at this time.

    Hi Gang, Happy New Year.
    I am attempting to add sequential dates into my budget planner for the new year.
    I know the old one could do it.
    I can do sequential numbers in 3.0, just not able to do the date thing, it just keep cycling the four dates ( 4 cells ) i have highlighted
    when i drag centre dot instead of adding the next later sequential date.
    I have tried a few different types of date formats.
    Any help welcome please.

    Hi Team, apparently you can do it.
    You JUST CANNOT USE A DATE FROM LAST YEAR AND HAVE IT CARRY OVER TO THIS YEAR!
    However an adendum to this now it is doing it for dates crossing yrs too.
    I do not know what I did differently.... time spent checking it out ..... lots of times....
    the dates go all funny when you cross years.  I was putting a week between dates - 7 days - and as you can see
    by the screen shot, the days vary anywhere from 4,5,6 or 7 days depending on its mood.
    all sequences were started with the first 2 dates in the sequence.
    The only one that worked is the one where both start dates are in January '14.
    So if you do this please check the accuracy of auto fill.
    So after all this, it would have been quicker to fill it in by hand, one cell at a time.
    Apple please fix this.  See sequence screen shot below.  Cheers from Jason.
    Keep on working on all this Apple, we may stick with you yet.
    check 9 jan to 13 Jan, then 20 Jan to 26 Jan??  Oh well, bug found...........     : )

    This is one of those things that I find really strange about Numbers 3. The control for what you want to do is not where anyone would expect to find it.
    Select the Chart
    Click on Edit Data References
    Look at the bottom left corner of the Numbers window. It should say "Plot Columns as Series" or "Plot Rows as Series"
    Click on it and change it to the other

    I have an old Numbers sheet where I could make the checkbox Cell go Green when ticking "Equal to" TRUE. When I open the old sheet it into new iWork it functions correctly. But I am unable to copy or paste the rule - nor recreate it.
    Any suggestions on how to create a Conditional checkbox cell that goes green once ticked would be most apprecicated.

    Numbers 3.0 is missing the logic-based "equal to TRUE" or "equal to FALSE" conditions for conditional formatting.  The replacement is text based: "text is TRUE" or "text is FALSE".  You can apply these rules to cells formatted as checkboxes.

    when you already provided the par file then
    go to content admin->portla content
    go to your folder in pcd content and right click and navigate to new-> layout. There you can find your deployed  new page layout par file.
    Create a page layout based on the par file and in the properties make it as template.
    Later when you try to create a page then you will get the new layout as one of the option.

  • Iphone 5 not getting text from new numbers?

    im on ios 7.0.4. Recently, ive been having the problem of not getting messages from new numbers. I receive all texts and calls from all current phone numbers ive ever had contact with. But for the past month, any new numbers that text me first, i do not receive them. But if i text and or call them first, it works fine. Which isnt always a convinence. They sent me screen shots of my number and their text; they all have different phones on different services.

        Perk123, this is a text messaging mystery! I'm on the case. I recommend that delete all unwanted text messages on your device and power it off/on to soft reset it.
    You will also need to advise your friend that has the AT&T iPhone to reset the network on their device. This can be done by accessing Settings >General >Reset >Reset Network.
    Lastly your friend needs to verify if your contact has been set up to block calls and text messages from your mobile number. This option is located in Contacts >your contact> Block this caller.

  • Creation of new numbering interval for FI documents - FBN1 transaction

    Dear Experts, good day!
    When trying to create new numbering intervals for FI documents (FBN1 transaction), inserting the needed entries to a  customizing request (only those new entries, related to future years) and release it to the Quality environment, we have noted the new entries didn't get into the destination system.
    Have someone seen this before? Would you know why does that happen? How can we transfer the NRIV table contents to the other environments (Quality and Production)?

    To copy number ranges to a new year you do with the transaction OBH2.
    When you want to transport number ranges you ask for problems. Only for a new implementation you can do it but not when there are existing number ranges with postings for that company

  • Don't want to use new Numbers, but 'get info' fix doesn't work

    Hi All,
    I made the mistake of installing the new Numbers a month or two ago. I don't want to use the new Numbers because I need to work on the same documents on older machines that won't work with the new Numbers. On my machines with both versions of Numbers, I want to be able to just double-click on the documents and open with the older version. The usual fix is to use get info on a document, select the app I want to use for this type of document and then hit 'change all' for that type of doc. Well that's the theory at least. I've found that this setting doesn't stick in this case. (I've never seen this not work).  It still opens with the new Numbers.
    I've tried removing Numbers, but Software Update keeps nagging that there is an update available jfor Numbers, and wants to reinstall it. They 'dumbed down' Software Update so that you can't remove updates you don't want to be bothered by. (I hate it that Apple continually removes features, then adds them back in a year or two!) So I'm stuck.
    Any one else have this happen? Any fixes?

    Using Get Info to change all documents to open with Pages 4.3 doesn't work. The Mac OS will always default to the newest installed version & has for as long as I can remember. It will work on individual files, but that could be a lot of files to reset.
    This is what worked for me. After I installed the new iWork updates I created a folder on an external drive & named it "Applications." I then moved the new iWork apps to this folder & renamed the applications Keynote 6, Pages 5 & Numbers 3. I have icons for two versions of Pages & Numbers (I rarely use Keynote) in my Dock. Even with two versions of Pages & Numbers running, double-clicking an existing file opens in Pages 4.3 or Numbers 2.3. This should also keep the Mac App Store from nagging you to update.
    Since the last update I've used the solution Peter Breis posted (4th post in that thread) in iWork Tips 'n' Tricks with a little "tweak."
    Making Numbers '09 the default whilst keeping Pages 5
    1. Move any new iWork apps in another clearly labelled folder (I created a new folder in Applications & named it iWork 13)
    2. Menu > Apple > System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy > drag the above folder into the list
    2) Move the new iWork folder into the trash (temporarily)
    3) Select any Numbers file in Finder > Menu > Info (cmd+i) > Open with: > Pages '09 > Change all
    4) Re the new iWork folder from the trash (right-click > Put back)
    Pages 5 should no longer appear as a default App, and you won't have to keep a copy in a separate drive or dmg.
    IMPORTANT: Make a note of where and how Pages was installed for the next App Store update and temporarily move it back there before putting it away again in the folder concealed from Spotlight.
