New url in weblogic portal

The customer is sent an email containing the user name and a link to the order via the demo Online login page. This should not contain the password .A separate email containing the password only will be sent after a gap of at least 1 minute and not more than 5 minutes .     The customer will now clink on the link and will be taken to the login page of Demo Online with the username already populated. On entering the new password twice, the customer will be taken to the overview page for the Order.
can we get this url by creating the desktop .

If I were you, I would try to use the Jakarta Commons HttpClient library. It
encapsulates all of the "dirty bits" of this into a simple api.

  • How to add Friendly URLs in Weblogic Portal?

    Hi,
    We are developing a portal using Weblogic 10gR3. Right now the URL's that are getting formed are very long which includes the nfpb, nfls, pagelabel e.t.c. The requirement is to have a very user friendly url something like http://www.x.com/portal/<<pageLabel>>
    The Weblogic documentation mentions something about URL compression, however unable to apply it for dynamic URL's. We have URL's which are formed on the fly from the WLP Content Repository
    Is there some kind of servlet / filter provided within WLP. I read somewhere about an URLTransformationServlet. But there was no documentation on its usage. Can some one share a sample code snippet with me. That would be really really helpful, as we are having a slight time crunch here.
    Any kind of help on this will be deeply appreciated. Thanks
    Thanks and Regards,
    Lilly

    As mentioned earlier, changes to the portal url is not provided out of box, the documentation link that I provided mentions a possible way of achieving this by creating a start up servlet, this may or may-not work in all circumstances. If the suggestions provided so far has not helped you so far, I would recommend you engage oracle professional services team to get assistance.

    Dear Team,
    Please find below comments from Dev team.
    While try to incorporate the URL navigation changes at
    our development environment we are getting exception Unable to render /framework/skeletons/bharti_skeleton/singlelevelmenu.jsp .
    I have also checked feasibility for the URL navigation changes provided and will not work for left menu
    and footer URL because while rendering these URL we are not using single level menu jsp or multilevel menu jsp.
    Please check with these comments and update ASAP.

    Since your question about Rich Text support in CMS is not related to portal urls, I would request you raise this as a separate issue.
    In the new SR, please elaborate what you mean by the Rich Text support, whats your proposed use case, whats working and what is not.
    Could you also confirm if the further information I have provided regarding making changes to the url meets your requirement.

    WLProxy configuration falls under the weblogic server product hence you will have to raise an SR with that product to get any suggestions.
    Before that I would suggest you play around with the parameter I have suggested and see how it is impacting the url and then if there is any specific area you are stuck on check with the WLS team.
    Like I mentioned earlier, I do not know if this will completely meet your business requirement, but something you can look into.

    URLCompression servlet is the only option that weblogic portal provides out of the box to compress the URL of WLP. I understand this does not suite your requirement.
    The other option I can think of that can possibly help you achieve this is to configure any weblogic proxy plugin that you might be making use of, see the document
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15051_01/wls/docs103/plugins/plugin_params.html#wp1143055 look for PathTrim, PathPrepend

    Hi,
    Even thogh after implementing the below changes,still we are not able to get the result. " nfpb parameter is still existing in URL ".
    Implementing URL Compression :
    To configure a webapp to use url compression, follow these steps:
    1. Define the compression servlet in web.xml; for example
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>UrlCompressionServlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>com.bea.portlet.compression.UrlCompressionServlet
    </servlet-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>defaultPage</param-name>
    <param-value>/index.jsp</param-value>
    </init-param>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>errorPage</param-name>
    <param-value>/errors/error.jsp</param-value>
    </init-param>
    <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
    </servlet>
    2. Map the compression pattern; for example:
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>UrlCompressionServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>wlp.c</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    3. Add the token {url:compression} to the templates for which you want to apply compression.
    Please suggest on this ASAP.

    Eranna D.

  • Public url for weblogic portal producer

    Hi All,
    Can any one provide public weblogic portal producer url.
    i need to this for traning purpose.

    It's really pretty easy and quick to install WLP and create a WLP wsrp producer webapp -- all WLP webapps are wsrp producers by default. Just do:
    1. download from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/weblogic-portal/downloads/index.html and run that. You'll probably want to do a custom install and include the WLP samples (leave everything else the same). No other installers are needed -- WLP includes a built-in pointbase database for development (and training courses).
    2. Follow the instructions on http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15919_01/wlp.1032/e14252/toc.htm to get a webapp and portlets up and running. Be sure to do the Run Scripts part of the domain creation in the config wizard. If you forget, you'll probably get some errors on startup of the server, and you'll just need to run the create_db script in the domain directory.
    3. Access that WSRP producer as http://<server>:7001/webappname/producer?WSDL in a consumer webapp.
    It normal only takes me less than 10 minutes to get a domain, webapp, and some portlets going. Generally, it takes me longer to actually download and run the installer than anything else.

  • Portlet-to-Portlet communication BEA Weblogic Portal 7.0 SP2 Windows environment

    I am new to BEA Weblogic Portal. I have a page with 3 portlets. Portlet 1 searches
    and displays data in portlet 2. When you click on a specific link in portlet
    2 it displays detailed data in portlet 3. This all works fine. My Problem is
    when I execute another search in portlet1 the results show up fine in portlet
    2, however portlet 3 still has the details from the previous search. How can
    I resolve this issue? Any advice on how to deal with caching in general?

    - On Linux try editing the /etc/hosts file and add something like: 10.241.110.105 server1.etcetera
    - On Windows try editing the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file and add something like: 10.241.110.105 server1.etcetera
    When this works, contact your system administrator and ask him or her to map an ip to your hostname in DNS and DHCP
    such that the servername automatically resolves the ip-address

  • New url's

    Hi SDN's
    Can u guide me step by step procuder for to create a new URL to my portal.
    I hav seen the forums, sme threads r there. but i didnt get da exact procedure to follow. i just bugged up n at last option i m droping this msg.
    plz guys, guide me

    Hi Rajesh,
    I assume that you want to change the URL you use to access your SAP NetWeaver Portal installation.
    The easiest way is to create an HTTP Alias and place it to the corresponding directory the index.html file which redirects you to any URL you want. Find more detailes on HTTP Aliases in the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ee/0618d0899001408d821096c85ff8a2/frameset.htm">SAP Library</a>.
    A HTTP Alias is only a set of static html-files where you can also use client-side JavaScript. If you want more flexible thing you can use J2EE Application and create Application Alias. Find more information about Application Aliases <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/96/910fcdfe1c384f8e17cf86947794cf/frameset.htm">here</a>.

  • Plumtree and Weblogic Portal Server | URL rewriting incompatibility

    Hi All,
    I am using Weblogic Portal as the Producer and Plumtree as the consumer for my WSRP portlets. I have enabled Producer URL rewriting. When i invoke an action URL i get a "Mode is not supported in this portlet." error. The template being passed is <blockingActionTemplate>/wsrpconsumer/pt_action?wsrp-navigationalState={wsrp-navigationalState}&wsrp-interactionState={wsrp-interactionState}&wsrp-mode={wsrp-mode}&wsrp-windowState={wsrp-windowState}</blockingActionTemplate>
    and the URL generated is a href="/wsrpconsumer/pt_action?wsrp-navigationalState=&wsrp-interactionState=_action%3D%2FnewAction1&wsrp-mode=&wsrp-windowState="
    The same portlet works fine when Consumer URL rewrting is enabled.
    Plumtree is giving the same error for the portlets at the consumer at http://sunwsrp.dyndns.org/portal/wsrp/wsdl/default. Any help would be highly appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi, I don't have an answer on this but another more basic question. Our agency is using Plumtree Portal v5. I am assigned to develop a remote portlet. According to what I've read on the web as far back as 2003 Plumtree Portal supports WSRP but I'm getting conflicting answers within our agency. This post seems to indicate that the Plumtree Portal can consume WSRP compliant remote portlets. If that is correct, can you point me to documentation/examples? I've found reference to a Plumtree resource called "WSRP Portlet Consumer" for WSRP--does that still exist? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Regarding New for weblogic portal

    hi every one.
    My name is krishnarjun yada. I am the new for weblogic portal applicatons and i have a training on next weak. But i don't know much more about on portal.I mean which topics are there and how to work. I have knowledge on WebspherePortalServer. Please guide me anyone it's very need for me.
    Please reply to <email address removed by moderator> ASAP.

    *** moderator note ***
    I've removed your email address from the post because a) you are likely to get lots of spam in your email by publishing it in public and b) responses to issues should be posted on the forum, as this is not a personal support service where people should be contacting you directly.
    Also please note that this is a forum of volunteers doing their own jobs, and leading their own lives, so to request help "ASAP" or "Urgently" etc. is not appropriate and considered very rude by many people.  Such urgent issues suggest a live system that has got problems and a company is losing money or people's lives are at risk, in which case the issue should be raise via My Oracle Support (MOS) which is the paid-for support channel for Oracle.
    The description of your issue, wanting to know more about a product before your training, is not an urgent issue. (Surely the point of the training is to learn it?)

  • What is the Weblogic Portal Admin URL

    Hi,
    I am learning the Weblogic Portal using workshop. I Installed Weblogic Portal 10.3.2 with Workshop and created a sample portal application, configured the Workshop to start the weblogic server and start the server,Run my application EAR into server and saw theopen administration console.
    Please clarify the following quesitons
    1. How do i deploy the portal application and access my application without using Workshop?
    2. What is the portal admin console url,port number?
    3. What is the purpose of using application specific console in WLP i.e http://localhost:port/myappAdmin ?
    4. is there any common administrator console in WLP i.e without using application specific console like http://localhost:port/myappAdmin ?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot
    Suresh

    Suresh -
    1. To deploy without Workshop/Eclipse, you will generally create an EAR of your application (via the Export Wizard under the File > Export menu) and deploy that with either the WLS console, WLST, or the weblogic.Deployer utility class. http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15919_01/wlp.1032/e14245/deployment.htm#i1027718 has a fair amount of information.
    2. The WLP admin portal is a webapp deployed as part of your application, via the wlp-tools-admin-app-lib.ear shared library. So, its host and port number are the same as wherever you deploy your application. The url path of the admin portal is controlled via your application's META-INF/weblogic-application.xml file; there's a <wls:library-context-root-override> element for the 'tools' context-root.
    3. Since the WLP admin portal is a webapp deployed as part of your application, it needs to have a unique context-root to support deploying multiple WLP applications. The ear wizard in Eclipse defaults to specifying the context-root as [appname]Admin to support this, but you can always change the context-root as I described above.
    4. No, currently, the WLP admin console is application-scoped and controls the configuration and behavior for that application. So, for multiple applications, you will have to use multiple admin console urls.

  • Need to add as a WSRP Connection in JDev for Weblogic Portal JSF Portlets.

    I am trying to register WLP 10.3.4 JSF Portlets as a WSRP connection in JDev Webcenter 11.1.1.6 Portal Framework application . The below are steps:
    -Created Simple WLP Application with JSF Portlets and deployed them on WLS 10.3.4 domain.
    -The WSDL url available is http://localhost:7003/TEST_WEB_PORTAL/producer?wsdl
    -Now Open JDev and created WCP Framwork app
    -Under Application Resource, right click on Connections -> New Connection -> WSRP Producer.
    -Click Next on step1 -> Enter WSDL URL on Step 2 and then click next on next 3 screens.
    -It tries to register but ended up with below exception:

    Hi,
    I tried creating a simple JSF portlet and I can able to register and it is working Fine, but my teammet got the same issue like you :) . While Analyzing what I found is , the location where we created the portlet in weblogic portal. If you created your portlet directly under WebContent folder then this issue is coming up, so try to create the portlet in a folder inside the WebContent folder, say create a folder with name portlets under webcontent and create the JSF portlet inside that portlets folder.
    Now start the server and register the same in WebCenter, you will not get that exception. I am going to raise a ticket with Oracle about this issue and get the root cause.
    Thanks

    My web service is using soap binding. I have tested it with eclipse and other tools also. It is working well and good. But when I tried to call a web service which is created and hosted on WebLogic server(running on port : 7001), I got the correct output.
    Can anyone help me out in calling a web service hosted on different server from WebLogic server.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi
    1. The way you are invoking the WebService deployed on Tomcat server is looks suspicious. It may be valid by adding extra ?wsdl etc into the url, but still I have not seen this way to invoke the webservice.
    2. So you used Weblogic ant task to generate client JARs by giving this WSDL. So looks like it generated the 4 classes (.java) and in addition any other classes for Request/Response xml objects.
    3. Look at the source code of EchoService.java. It should have one default empty constructor. Internally it uses the default wsdl defined in this class. You will see another constructor that takes WSDL URL as one of the parameters (QName) etc. Echo.java is the class corresponding to the Port. In the same EchoService you should see an instance method like getEcho() something like that. This Echo.java class will have methods for all the Operations defined on this Port. So the standard code snippet we use most of the times will be like this:
    EchoService myEchoService = new EchoService(); // Default it uses WSDL deployed on Tomcat at localhost:8080
    Echo myEchoPort = myEchoService.getEchoPort(); // Something along these lines.
    myEchoPort.xxxYYY(); // NOW this is the operation name that takes the input parameters and returns outputs defined as per the WSDL defintions. If the Input and Outputs are complex xml types, it will have corresponing .JAVA files with setters and getters.
    Now if this WebService is deployed on same Tomcat but on different machine or different port, you just give the full WSDL URL with that host and port in the constructor for new EchoService(...). You may need to instantiate QName object. But look at the methods generated in EchoService.java class.
    The way you are using with Impl and Stubs class may also work. I am not much famiiar with this APIs apporach. Still look at the methods generated in these classes.
    Also if you latest Sun JDK 1.6, it also has one command like wsimport. Infact if you install WLS 10.3 with Sun JDK, it should have C:\beawlp103\jdk160_05\bin\wsimport command. This will also generate client jar given a WSDL URL.
    Thanks

  • How to do development on Weblogic Portal ( 10.3.2 )

    Im trying to do Weblogic Portal Development as described in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15919_01/wlp.1032/e14252.pdf
    But When I downloaded the latest Weblogic Eclipse IDE ( OEPE ) ( Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse ), I do not see the Portal Perspective or an option ro create a Portal project.
    I downloaded the latest OEPE ( Indigo )
    Am I supposed to download a certain version of OEPE ? If yes which one is it ?
    How can I proceed with what is given in the oracle tutorial ?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated

    Praise the Lord!
    It is now working on my MAC with 10.3.4. (I could not yet download 10.3.2 Windows, but should work the same)
    The following versions seem to be used:
    WLP 10.3.4     OEPE 11.1.1.6.1     Eclipse 3.6
    WLP 10.3.2     OEPE 11.1.1.3.1     Eclipse 3.5
    Steps
    1. Download Windows WLP 10.3.4 and install it on a Windows machine
    2. Download and install the Generic WLP 10.3.4 on your MAC
    3. Download OEPE 11.1.1.6.1 and install/extract it under your Middelware home directory where you installed WLP on your MAC
    4. Copy the +\<Middleware Home>\wlportal_10.3\eclipse+ folder from Windows to your MAC +/<Middleware Home>/11.1.1.6.1/dropins/WLP_Portal/.+
    (The link file in the url solution above did not want to work)
    En siedaar! It works
    (Note that when I created a new Server/Domain it did not want to run the Derby DB scripts as the Derby server is not started (Windows and MAC). I got around this by starting the Derby server before I create the Domain.
    +/<Middleware Home>/wlserver_10.3/common/derby/bin/startNetworkServer.sh+ )
    Hope this helps someone else.
