You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 or later is for Snow Leopard onwards.
* Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC (G4 or G5) Macs, you need to go here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, try the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the version 11.5.502.55:)
Download this http://scriptogr.am/nordkril/post/adobe-flash-11.5-for-powerpc to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

"OSX Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer."
I bought a MacBook Pro (13" retina display) today. Tried to update software. Error mesage said to ujpdate OS. When I tried to, error message said, "OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer." Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?
All owners of the model seem to have the same problem. Presently there is no 10.8.2 updater for your model. The previous updater has been pulled. Wait a while and one will show up when Apple gets it fixed.

I have a Macbook with 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and want to upgrade to Mountain Lion. When I try to download the program I get a message that says Mountain Lion is not compatible with my computer. Please help.
ML requires one of these:
You should verify if you qualify. -
have lion 10.7.4 up graded from tiger 10.5.8. tried to download mountain lion but received a message that mountain lion is not compatible with my computer. anyone have this problem or suggestion?
It's actually not the chip... it's the drivers for the video card. this is what my friend who does IT work said.
"The drivers for your Mac's video card are not 64bit compatible even though the computer itself is. Mountain Lion has done away with all 32bit OS components so it only runs on full 64bit MAcs now"
So even though I updated my video card to a newer version and my computer itself is 64bit... apple didn't create a driver for it that was 64 bit. My hardware is fine for this update and the chip can handle it. It can handle all my 64 bit programs just fine. It's apple forcing me to update and buy a new expensive computer. So much for long lasting computer... they last long but they won't be supported very long.
Why not release a version of mountain lion that supports 32 bit graphics alongside the 64 bit? Wasn't that what grand central was going to accomplish? This is rubbish. -

I've tried to purchase Mountain Lion but when I click 'buy' I get the message, "We could not complete your purchase. OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer." I'm using an iMac with Lion OS on it, Why is it incompatible?
Your Mac must be one of the following models:

MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)

When attempting to install OS X Mountain Lion I get the following error message "We could not complete your purchase. OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer." Any idea what the issue might be?

There is nothing to overcome, your mac is too old to run Mountain Lion. For an iMac it must be a (Mid 2007 or newer) http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/ -
Ap store says "we could not complete your purchase. OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer". I'm running 10.6.8 duel core intel with 15gb of memory. Any ideas on why I can't download?
Thanks. If the OP has this much RAM in their iMac, certain this Mac can run Mountain Lion.
The reason it might not be installing is that 15 GBs of RAM.
Your iMac should have (4) equal sized, 4 GB sticks of RAM for a total of 16 GBs.l
If your iMac is only reporting that there is only 15 GBs of RAM, you have a RAM stick that is either not seated in its slot properly or is defective/going bad.
This maybe the reason that it won't download it.
Also could be you are running out of free space on your HD.
You need, at least 15-20 % or greater free space left on your HD. -
Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer
When will I be able to upgrade my Mac Pro to Mountain Lion:
2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, Memory 13gb 667 MHz DR2 FB-DIMM, 64GB free disk (system), 1TB free other disks, computer age mid 2007, Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.
As of 11/28/12: Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer.I installed Windows 8 Pro on a PC, quickly shutdown and walked it over to my Mac Pro 1,1.
5365s are 8-core and Geekbench in the 8000 pts range.
An apple 2010 refurbished is $1800 also, old 4-core 2.8 but can upgrade easily to W3680 6-core 3.33
I agree running native beats running VM
The issue with getting Windows 64-bit onto 32-bit firmware is just the install phase but a real pain. 64-bit Windows requires, if the system is EFI based. I do have one PC that does use UEFI and Windows 8, another that does not. Both are 2008-9 motherboards (Intel which supports UEFI, and Gigabyte which did not with X58). Apple of course last updated our EFI 1,1 and 2,1 back in 2007. Before UEFI was done standardized etc. -
OS X not compatible with this computer?
Hi All,
I am running OS X Lion 10.7.4 on my Mac but the app store tells me that Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer. Why?
Thanks,
Billany 2007 model imac or later should be compatable. If it is this new check you have at least 2gb of ram and enough free disk space (20GB).

" This version of CS6 Photoshop and Illustrator not compatible with my computer"
CS6 Photoshop and Illustrator are not compatible with my computer. Is there a downloadable version of CS6 Photoshop and Illustrator that is? I downloaded in both the CS6 Design and Web Premium and individually, neither worked. I have a Mac OS X Version 10.6.8
No. if that message comes up, you are running on an old first generation Core Duo processor on an iMac/MacBook/ Mac mini and it simply is not compatible, no matter what version of OSX. It lacks specific chip components required for the code.
