No Adobe support response for 1 month!? Anyone there?

I have had an ongoing support ticket going with Adobe about a very problematic error (the overflow converting ratio denominators one! - I've tried the usual workarounds/fixes) that has completely halted one of our projects since moving over to CS4 and I've basically been ignored for the past month about it.
Are there any Adobe support guys on here that might be able to shed some light on the progress of the case?

I think I might cry! My master collection came only monday and I cant get it to install! I have done everything I think that needs doing to get it working. I have also contacted customer services 5 times but I don't understand them and they don't understand me! I have left 3 messages on my 'support portal' all consisting of the same problem- jst so I can make my point! I've even threatened I will take further action but nothing- I don't think anyone actually reads them!
I don't know what to do!

  • Is this a typical Adobe support response?

    My wife bought me a copy of PSE8 at Costco. I installed it on my Windows 7 PC. When I launched it, none of the scroll bars worked. Neither did most of the click to select an object functions. Drove me crazy for a couple of hours. Then it hit me - I'm left-handed and my mouse is set up left-handed. Could it be that simple? Yep, I switched my mouse to right-handed and everything worked fine. Now, I've used computers for years, and have always set my mouse up left-handed. And EVERY software product I've ever owned has worked with my mouse set that way. Until now. I opened a support case with Adobe. I never heard anything, so logged on here and checked in the support portal. My case had been "withdrawn". The response? Set my mouse up right-handed. No offer to look into it, no explanation as to why such an elementary feature should be either poorly implemented or not implemented at all. Just 'case closed", it's your problem not ours. So, I'm supposed to switch my mouse set-up back and forth every time I use PSE? I don't think so. Is this standard operating procedure at Adobe or did I just get a jerk responding to my problem?     Re the switching the mouse buttons, I just tried it on my PSE 8 / Windows 7 and observed the same thing. I suspect the problem may be caused by Adobe's use of its in-house user-interface toolkit, rather than standard Windows tools, to make the Editor run on both Windows and Mac.   In general, PSE fails to follow a number of Windows user-interface standards, and Adobe doesn't put a high-priority on fixing those issues.

    This is unfortunately all too typical of Adobe customer support for PSE for the past several years. 
    In the last couple of months, they've started marking cases as Withdrawn, sometimes without even supplying a response.   Adobe is never supposed to mark a case as Withdrawn -- only the submitter is supposed to do that (e.g. because you've discovered the problem is unrelated to the product).    Customer support is supposed to provide a response and then mark the case as Pending - Awaiting Customer Response, and then if they don't hear back from you after some number of days, mark the case as Closed.
    In August, the Adobe VP responsible for customer support published an open letter of apology across the Adobe.com site, acknowledging there were severe problems with the Adobe's outsourced customer support.   Not only has the situation not improved since then, it looks like it's getting worse.

    In Have a Macbook Pro and have the CS6 suite of adobe programs. Photoshop and Illustrator have retina support so my question is will Indesign for CS6 ever get retina support? It's been well over 2 years now since the release of retina displays!!!!!!  Apple and graphic design go hand in hand and Adobe is the go to brand, it's pathetic this hasn't been sorted earlier!
    and i know about open in low res in the get info of the app, its greyed out and ticked and no I don't want to go to CC just yet.

    There will be no update to InDesign 8 (i.e., CS6) to add support for HiDPI displays. Not only were those products released without sufficient (if any) notice to the developer community, but when these new displays were announced, Adobe was in the process of making very major changes to InDesign's code base to be even able to take advantage of new MacOS features that support these displays as well as 64-bit operation. This support could not reasonably be retrofitted into the pre-InDesign 9 (CC) code base. We in fact were quite open to the user community at that time and advised them as to when and how the HiDPI (i.e. “Retina”) support would be added to InDesign.
    In terms of why Illustrator and Photoshop were able to incorporate this support into their CS6 versions, the simple truth is that both those programs underwent a similar major code overhaul prior to the CS6 release and thus were able to incorporate HiDPI as well as 64-bit support much more readily and quickly.

    This is the number I called awhile back when I needed tech support for Logic 9. I happened to still be in my 90-day window so it was still free, but if you're out of that time period, you may have to pay something. I think they have two levels of phone support: a per-call charge, or a yearly fee that gives you unlimited support, or something like that.

    yes, I did that with helping message 3, I'd remove Cs6 only, but it did not help. The message "Failed to initialize the setup program. To identify the problem, download the program Adobe Support Advisor" repeat again =(

  • How to get pics off of adobe .pdf file for emailing.(mac computer)

    What happened: I got copy place to scan 8.5x11 pages that had 2-3pics on each. They scanned in as .pdf file which I open with Adobe reader and see 8 pages of several pics on each page. I'd like to be able to drag or copy off pics from these pages so I can email to others, but I cannot find out how to do this. I saw under the readers TOOLS the submenu of "select and zoom" and submenu "snapshot tools" and tried that and it shows "the selected area has been copied", then what do I do? I try going into email program (mac computer and using Thunderbird email) and the "paste" is greyed out. I try opeining iPhoto and same greyed out PASTE option. WHEre can I paste it to after using that? It won't go to desktop either. Is there any other Adobe program that will make this work on a Mac computer? Thanks ahead for ALL help!

    Adobe supports Macs for 99% of their applications. I'm not sure where you found that information.
    Photoshop isn't an inexpensive application so you may look in to buying the less expensive version of Photoshop Elements.

    Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details. We don't even know what exactly you are trying to install.

    Sonny3300, your signature says "Aperture 2" - is that correct? Then you need this trouble shooting guide:

    200% or more is not strange. Remember that your mac has 4 cores (you say it's 3 months old, so I assume it is a new model), so 200% amounts to using 2 of these 4 cores to the max.
    Regarding the question of creating a new admin user: while it sits in the same system, it may help if the problem is caused by some user-specific preferences or settings. Not likely in your case, since you seem to have reinstalled from scratch, but still it is worth a try. It takes 5 minutes and may help pinpoint the problem.

    You won't be able to install your original Acrobat 7 at all, or use your original serial number. The server which used to allow this was switched off.
    But assuming you have a compatible system, like Mac OS 5 or Windows XP, licensed users of Acrobat 7 can download a replacement and get a replacement serial number.

    This is like buying a GM car and being told to talk to otherGM customers on how to fix your car yourself.  It it the blind leading the blind.   I have wasted many days and weeks because I cannot find solutions.  I have rarely gotten a solution from any similar forum, and more often been told by other members that I should buy what they have or that I should not want to make this or that type a disc, etc., and rarely a suggestion that is useful.

    He has a new computer without the disc reader.

    I rarely record automation, and when I do I never do a second pass (usually hand draw automation in) but I have had problems with Logic 7 no longer playing back automation. I've been told its fixed in Logic 8, but in the mean time here is a work around.
    Select the region where the automation is (if there is no region, create one using the pencil tool and expand it to cover all automation) and go OPTIONS menu -> TRACK AUTOMATION -> "Move current track data to region data." Now everything should play back as expected. If you want to edit the data, simply select "move current region data to track data" and edit away.
    For some reason, Logic 7 will sometimes stop reading track automation data, but I have yet to have it stop reading region automation. This is a bug, and according to other users, has been fixed in Logic 8. Hope this helps until we eventually upgrade
