No error when Method Operation sets invalid precision in EO
Hi,
I stumbled upon a very strange behavior (bug ?) reproduced in the following simple test case.
Studio Edition Version 11.1.2.3.0, Build JDEVADF_11.1.2.3.0_GENERIC_120914.0223.6276.1
Using HR with default VO & EO for the regions table, I create a client interface AM method where sets an invalid value to the RegionName attribute:
public void updateWithIllegalValueFromAM(){
try {
getRegions1().getCurrentRow().setAttribute("RegionName", "012345678901234567890123456789"); // (1)invalid precision/scale should be max 25 chars
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();//<-- Never executed
throw new JboException(e); //<-- Never executed
System.out.println(" updateWithIllegalValueFromAM End ");
}Next in the JSP I create a read only form for the Region1 VO, including navigation, a button for the method operation and finally a commit operation.
Running the above and pressing the method operation button, the expected behavior is to see an error message but it is never shown until the transaction being committed.
Debugging I see that an exception is raised in the setter of the attribute but it doesn’t bubble up till the (1) catch statement.
As you might guess the real case is a read only screen with buttons for making actions for the current record . I assumed that the EO validations should be honored in such scenario but I am wrong …
If you have any clue why this happens please share it with me!
Yiannis

Thanks Sudipto,
I inserted the try/catch block for debugging, just to ensure that catch is never executed, that is the e.printStackTrace is not printed.
To be more clear I edited the above code.

Security error: Cannot authorize operation for invalid non-ASCII URL
I have an error that popped up with Flash Player 10.1.85.3 or 10.1.82.76.
In our application, we load users' avatars with their original filename. Some filenames have non-ASCII characters (i.e. Hebrew, accents, or umlauts) and I can no longer load those files from a different subdomain.
For example, I'm trying to load this image (with the Loader class and a LoaderContext):
http://photos.myawesomedomain.com/images/awesöme.jpg (o with umlaut)
It comes to me encoded in UTF-8:
http://photos.myawesomedomain.com/images/awes%C3%B6me.jpg (umlaut converted to %C3%B6)
When I try to load the file from http://myawesomedomain.com/myawesome.swf, I get this error:
*** Security Sandbox Violation ***
Connection to http://photos.myawesomedomain.com/images/awesöme.jpg halted - not permitted from http://myawesomedomain.com/myawesome.swf
Error: Cannot authorize operation for invalid non-ASCII URL http://photos.myawesomedomain.com/images/awesöme.jpg
If I try this with a player earlier than 10.1.82.76, it works. It also works if I move the file to the same domain as the SWF (http://myawesomedomain.com/images/awesöme.jpg) -- but that's not an option for me. Files without unusual characters work regardless of the player version.
The error occurs when I try to access the bitmap data of the loaded image. I've tried encoding the URL differently, but Flash always reports it as "http://photos.myawesomedomain.com/images/awesöme.jpg" - with the umlaut converted to strange characters. The cross domain file allow-access-from "*.myawesomedomain.com"
Has anyone run into this? Is there a way I can fix it without renaming the users' photos (we have tens of thousands of these)?
I feel like I must be missing something obvious; hardly anything comes up in Google for this, but I don't think it would be an uncommon problem. I believe https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-5580 is related.
Thanks!The problem is based on the player version, not the browser.
The problem showed up in Chrome first because it auto-updates the player; when Firefox users installed the updated player, they started having the problem, too. -
Error when modifying VM Memory - "Invalid minimum memory amount"
Good day,
I am trying to modify a virtual machine's static memory setting using VMM 2012 R2 with UR 2. The VM is running on a Hyper-V 2012 R2 host cluster. Whether I use the VMM GUI or attempt to issue the command via VMM Command Shell, I get the same
result:
PS C:\Windows\system32> $VM= Get-SCVirtualMachine -name "SomeVM"
PS C:\Windows\system32> set-scvirtualmachine -VM $VM -MemoryMB 4096
set-scvirtualmachine : VMM cannot complete the host operation on the hyperv.domain.com server because of the error: 'SomeVM' failed to modify device 'Memory'. (Virtual machine ID22AD6F9F-E5B6-4B8D-9AB6-6A48A9521297)Invalid minimum memory amount assigned for 'SomeVM'. The minimum amount of memory you can assign to a virtual machine is '32' MB. (Virtual machine ID22AD6F9F-E5B6-4B8D-9AB6-6A48A9521297) (Error ID: 12700, Detailed Error:Unknown error (0x8005))
Resolve the host issue and then try the operation again.
To restart the job, run the following command:
PS> Restart-Job -Job (Get-VMMServer localhost | Get-Job | where { $_.ID -eq"{8301e122-b69e-4ac0-82d7-82c473d99e3a}"})

+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
+ CategoryInfo : ReadError: (:) [Set-SCVirtualMachine], CarmineEx ception
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : 12700,Microsoft.SystemCenter.VirtualMachineManag er.Cmdlets.SetVMCmdlet
The error indicates that I am attempting to set the VM memory to something less than 32 MB, but as shown above I am actually trying to set it to 4096 MB. I also get this error when I attempt to modify the value using Hyper-V Manager (or in this case
the Failover Cluster Manager). Note that I am not attempting to configure dynamic memory on this VM.
One more note about this VM - it was migrated from a Hyper-V 2012 host cluster performed by exporting the VM from the old host, and importing it to the new one.
Not sure if anyone else has experienced this error or if there is a work around.Really what the error is not telling you, is that you need to set the value for minimum memory in addition to the value you are setting.
if dynamic memory is on, you need to set them all:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh801341.aspx
-MemoryMB<Int32>
Specifies, in megabytes (MB), the amount of random access memory (RAM) on the host that is allocated to a virtual machine. The default value is 512 MB. For a virtual machine on which dynamic memory is enabled (on a host running Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
or later), use MemoryMB to specify the startup memory value.
I have run into this issue what I had VMs that I migrated to Hyper-V 2012 R2, because the minimum was actually lower. Or it was empty if the VM had fixed memory. And now it can no longer be an empty setting.

OAF pages open up with error when FND_VALIDATION_LEVEL profile set to ERROR
Hi,
We get error “You have insufficient privileges for the current operation. Please contact your System Administrator.” when we access the OAF page on a click of a link .
On a click of a link in a OAF page a new OAF page should open up. This is achieved by following piece of code
String javaS = (new StringBuilder()).append("javascript:openWindow(top, 'OA.jsp?page=/XXX/oracle/apps/cs/XXX/XXX/webui/ViewRulesPG¶mRoot=RULES&reportname=").append(strViewRepName).append("&retainAM=N&addBreadCrumb=N','modal'").append(",{width:screen.width,height:screen.height-30,top:0,left:0").append(",resizable:false},true, 'document', null);void(0);").toString();
bodyBean.setOnLoad(javaS);
This works fine when the FND_VALIDATION_LEVEL is set as 'None' but gives the error when the profile is set as 'Error'. We can't go with this work around.
Please suggest
Regards,
MrugeshFND_VALIDATION_LEVEL is a profile option that should always be set to ERROR. It is not advisable to set it to NONE, just to enable your javascript. The profile ensures that the page is well secured when accessed through Oracle Applications, applies the necessary security similar to seeded OAF pages. OA Framework does not support javascript functionality such pop-ups (you can do it but ) but does not guarantee that the page is secure from outside world (web traffic or cross-browser attacks) when the FND_VALIDATION_LEVEL=None. Work with Dialog pages instead of pop-ups or otherwise limit the page functionality, as javascripting is not recommended in OAF pages.

ACS SE: Error when changing IP setting
I got this error when trying to change the IP address setting:
Error: Failed to get NIC configuration: (null) (FFFFFFFF)
My ACS SE is now not functioning because of this. Is there any way to recover besides using the Recovery CD ?Does this happen to small number of network devices or the whole set
If the former then I found the following CDETS
CSCtw59271 Random Network Device corruption after upgrade from ACS 5.2 to 5.3
Which includes the following workaround
Symptom 1: Delete and re-add the AAA client
Symptom 2:Modify the TACACS+ shared secret of the Network Device, re-enter the same key and save the Network device.
>>>> Use case where TACACS+ was used
There are some important fixes related to upgrade issues in patch 5 and later for ACS 5.3. While these do not relate to NDs I do recommend installing this patch -

Unresponsive Script Error when Saving Changed Set in Flickr Organizer
I'm getting an unresponsive script error when saving a changed set in the Flickr organizer.
The problem started when using Firefox 3.6.8 or maybe an earlier version. It persists in Firefox 3.6.12
I've noticed the error only appears in the Organizer and only when saving a changed set or saving after deleting a set.
It does indeed save the changed set correctly before crashing.
It is not intermittent and happens every time I perform this save.
The error does not occur in Chrome or Safari.
Examples of the error messages can be found at

and

I am trying to use Migration Assistant but it tells me that there is an error when using it - but it doesn't tell me what and I only have teh option to quit!
I would recommend carefully reading Pondini's guide on using Migration Assitant, if you still have trouble you have 90 days of free telephone support from Apple via AppleCare. While they are more versed in OS X than MS Windows they may be able to help you. Pondini's guide is found by clicking Lion or Mountain Lion Setup Assistant tips

No Signature of Method Error when trying to set Bind Variable Groovy Expr
I am trying to set a Bind variable on my view object to equal the output of a function defined in the the EntityImpl.java that corresponds to that bind variable.
I set the value of my bind variable to be = adf.object.getMyServiceType()
Where the name of the view object I am currently in is called GridSwSoftwareServiceView.xml and the Entity object is called GridSwSoftwareService.java and the EntityImpl file is called GridSwSoftwareService.java.
I am seeing this error:
No signature of method: oracle.jbo.common.VariableImpl$VariableExprValueSupplier.getMyServiceType() is applicable for argument types: () values: []
Does anyone know what this error means?
I was trying to follow an example from this doc: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/11/how-tos/groovy/introduction_to_groovy.pdf
Edited by: user10791986 on May 21, 2010 2:50 PMLooks like a bug... :(
It works fine as a View Object attribute expression but it fails miserably once added as an expression to the bind variable. In this case, here is a work-around:
Define the method as static in your EntityImpl.java :
public static String getMyServiceType() {
return "EBSO R12";
Then access it by fully qualifying it with the package and class :
com.yourpackage.EntityImpl.getMyServiceType()
Edited:
On a second thought, I am wondering if the expression is valid since the Entity hasn't yet constructed at that point.... That explains why it works when made static.

View Solution.Hi leslievilla,
There is no full feature software and driver available from HP, but the OS X v10.9 Mavericks driver for your printer is available through Apple Software Update (ASU).
With this driver you can still print and scan, you just wont have HP software to scan from. Scanning to the computer from the printer control panel is only available when using HP Scan software, thus it will not work because there is no HP scan software as apart of the Apple Software Update driver.
This explains the issue you are having with the Printer Assistant. That program, and any other HP Software for that printer that is on the computer was intended for an earlier version of the operating system not 10.9.
Is your printer currently on your home network? If not you will not be able to use the software to configure it and this model does not have a wireless setup wizard available from the front panel. Instead you will need to either connect a USB cable, or we can try a work around to get the printer on the network.
Please complete the steps below to rid the computer of the incompatible software.
Scrub/ Uninstall
Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett Packard folder > HP Uninstaller
Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
* Only do this step if you do not have any other HP Printers. Hold down Control, Option and Command, While holding the three buttons down,
Click uninstall.
Reset Printing System
Click the Apple icon ( ), and then click System Preferences.
In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan dialog box opens.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Repair Disk Permissions
On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
Once the repair is complete, restart the computer.
At this point you can connect a USB cable from the printer to the computer and you will be able to print and scan, or if the printer is already on your network you can add the printer to your System Preferences with these steps;
Please ensure you are using the HP driver, not the AirPrint driver.
Select Add other Printer or Scanner
Select the printer you are adding and next to 'Use' you can choose the printer driver instead of AirPrint
You can scan using one of the following methods;
Method one: Scan from the Print & Scan window
Method two: Scan from Apple Preview
Method three: Scan from Apple Image Capture
I hope this helps. If you have any additional questions or have any difficulty using any of these methods, please let me know what method you are trying and what the issue/error is. You may also find the following document helpful; OS X v10.9 Mavericks: Installing and Using the Printer on a Mac
If you want to use your printer wirelessly, you can use another computer with a compatible operating system to configure the printer onto your wireless network, if you have one, or you can message me back and let me know and we can look at the work around as an option.
I hope this helps.

Unknown error when trying to set up Firefox Sync
I try to set up Firefox Sync but as I fill in my e-mail address on the first line i first get the message "invalide e-mail account" (or similar) but then when I continue to complete it with [email protected] it just says "unknown error". I have tried several different e-mail addresses on two different computers but the same annoying unknown error message keeps coming up.
What am I supposed to do about that?Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.

"Unexpected Error" when trying to set up time machine.
I only really want to use it as an external HD, but every time I try to set up to connect to my wifi it says "unexpected error" try again later. When I press the reset button, airport utility can recognize it. Then I try to set it up as extending or connecting to a current wifi connection. The process seems to be going fine until the very end and then airport utility says "unexpected error." Then, it no longer recognizes the time capsule. Help please.
You cannot extend wireless if the other router is not an apple.
If you join to the existing wireless, ethernet is cut off when it sets.. are you using ethernet or wireless to do the setup?
The best way to setup the TC even for just using as external hd is to plug it into the main router by ethernet.. and bridge the TC.
The other method is to plug it by ethernet directly to the computer but use static IP addressing.
Tell us how you want to do it. -
REQIMPORT errors when security profile set using 12I
I am submitting the purchase requisition import using the following script in release 12I. The request is submitted but completes with an error.
declare
l_request_id NUMBER;
l_batch_id NUMBER := 1027;
l_ou_count NUMBER;
l_org_id NUMBER := fnd_global.org_id;
l_ou_name VARCHAR2(200);

mo_global.set_policy_context('S', l_org_id);
mo_utils.get_default_ou(l_org_id, l_ou_name, l_ou_count);

l_org_id := mo_utils.get_default_org_id;

dbms_output.put_line('Request ID: '||l_request_id);
END;
The MO: Default Operating Unit and MO: Operating Unit profiles are setup for the given responsibility with an operating unit value. The MO: Security Profile profile is set to a given profile at the site and responsibility level.
When I remove the MO: Security Profile at the site level the purchase requisition concurrent request completes successfully. Only when the MO: Security Profile is set at the site level is the purchase requisition concurrent program submitted using the attached script erroring out.
I can submit the purchase requisition import using the submit request form without any errors. I believe this is because the operating unit field is being populated.
Has anyone run into this issue? Am I missing any commands that define the operating unit used in the concurrent program submission in release 12I?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
CharlesHi,
Only when the MO: Security Profile is set at the site level is the purchase requisition concurrent program submitted using the attached script erroring out.Please see if the guidelines about this profile option in the following documents help.

Error when invoking NotificationServices - PolicySet Invalid
Hi All,
This is our internally build composite NotificationService which is used by all our other composites including AIA for fault and other runtime notifications. It has functionality to both email and create human work flow. We have tested in our DEV environment and works perfectly fine (deployed from JDeveloper). Now its more SIT time and we using WSLT to deploy it in TEST evnironment, deploy works fine but during runtime we get this error:
Error from the Web Services invoke:
<env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><env:Header/><env:Body><env:Fault><faultcode>env:Server</faultcode><faultstring>PolicySet Invalid: WSM-06158 PolicyReference The policy referenced by URI "oracle/no_authentication_service_policy" does not exist in the repository. </faultstring><faultactor/><detail><exception>javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException: PolicySet Invalid: WSM-06158 PolicyReference The policy referenced by URI "oracle/no_authentication_service_policy" does not exist in the repository. </exception></detail></env:Fault></env:Body></env:Envelope>
Error in the composite instance:

</part>
<part name="detail">

</part>
<part name="code">
<code>owspe:PolicyAccess</code>
</part>
</remoteFault>
</bpelFault>
</fault>
I tried invoking the same service from soapUI and it works fine for the emailing part, but fails if another composite tries to call it. I checked all policies and nothing is attached to any of the composites. Hence my setup is pretty much the same as DEV, I'm not able to tell the difference between DEV and TEST as it looks same to me. I also removed all the policies that get attached automatically when deploy from weblogic domain -> base domain -> Policies Set.
What am I missing here?
Thanks,
BabsHi All,
For the record.
Its all working now, this Oracle document had the information we needed
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/b32511/diagnosing.htm
Policy Access Error After an Application Invokes Web Service
After an application attempts to invoke a Web service, a policy access error such as the following appears:
• WSM-06156: The policy URI is missing, empty or contains invalid characters.
• WSM-06158: The referenced policy does not exist in the repository.
• WSM-02017: The document was not found in the repository.
Problem
The problem may be:
• The policy URI is missing or the policy name is misspelled.
• The Policy Manager is down
• The policy does not exist in the repository
• The policy attachment is not in effect due to a cache delay.
Solution
To diagnose and solve policy access issues:
1. Verify that the Policy Manager is running as described in "Diagnosing Problems with Oracle WSM Policy Manager" and "Unable to Connect to the Policy Manager".
2. Verify that the mds-owsm datasource connection is reachable and available. For more information, see "Understanding and Managing Data Sources" in Oracle Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide.
3. Verify that the policy exists in the Oracle WSM repository by viewing the contents of the repository using the Policy Manager Validator page. For details about accessing the Validator page and viewing the contents of the repository, see "Diagnosing Problems with Oracle WSM Policy Manager".
4. If the policy exists in the repository, verify that the policy URI is consistent with the policy URI in the repository.
5. If the policy does not exist in the Oracle WSM repository, do one of the following:
o For predefined policies:
Verify that the repository has been upgraded with all of the latest predefined policies using the upgradeWSMPolicyRepository() command as described in "Upgrading the Oracle WSM Policies in the Repository".
Reset the contents of the repository using the resetWSMPolicyRepository command as described in "Rebuilding the Oracle WSM Repository".
oFor a custom policy:
Import it into the repository as described in "Importing Web Service Policies". For information on creating a custom policy, see "Creating Web Service Policies".
6. Check if the user is in a role that has the right permission granted. To modify any roles or permissions, refer to "Modify the User's Group or Role".
7. Verify the policy accessor and cache delay.
The amount of time it takes for a policy attachment to take effect is determined by the Oracle WSM policy accessor and policy cache property settings. By default, this delay can be up to a maximum of 11 minutes. To reduce the amount of the delay, if necessary, you can tune the following cache property settings:
o Policy Accessor
cache.refresh.initial, default 600000 milliseconds (10 minutes)
cache.refresh.repeat, default 600000 milliseconds (10 minutes)
o Policy Cache
cache.tolerance, default is 60000 milliseconds (1 minute)
For details about tuning these properties, see "Configuring Platform Policy Properties".

Error when trying to set a date type edit field
Hi all
I have an edit text field in a form which is bounded to a date type
database field using dbDataSource.
When i try to set the edit text field value with Today's date by code.
I recieve an error message that the value which
i'm trying to set is not legal. the error number is [131-183].
I use the following code to set the edit field:
If oEditText.Value.Trim = String.Empty Then
Dim strDate As String
Dim sboBob As SAPbobsCOM.SBObob =
oCompany.GetBusinessObjec(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.BoBridge)
rs = sboBob.Format_DateToString(Microsoft.VisualBasic.Today)
strDate = rs.Fields.Item(0).Value.ToString().Trim()
Try
oEditText.Value = strDate
Catch ex As Exception
SBO_Application.MessageBox("error setting
current date: " & ex.Message)
End Try
End If
My question is how can i set the edit field with a valid value?Hi!
When writing to EditText.Value you must always use the B1 "DB-Format" as String.
The following examples are assuming (it's a must!) that the EditText-Fields are bound to a corrosponding DataSource (Type Date, Price etc...)
MyDateEditTxt.Value="20080207"
MyPriceEditTxt.Value="1341.79"
The best of it: It's Windows and SBO-GUI-Language independent.
EditText.String must always be written with the format of the actual Language of the SBO-GUI, which can be changed by the user....
