No export in Bookmarks toolbar on !.8 for mac
Running OSX 10.6.8. Firefox 1.8 for Yahoo 22.0. Want to export bookmarks to Safari. Go to bookmarks tab and click on "show all bookmarks" then to "bookmarks toolbar". No export bookmark available. Thanks
You need to look at the toolbar in the Library with the back and forward arrows and three other buttons (Organize, Views, Import and Backup) and not in the two panes that show the folders and bookmarks.
You can install the regular Firefox 22 release from the Mozilla server to get the official release instead of using some third-party build that might come with some undesired 'extras'.
You can find the full version of the latest Firefox 22.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

I need help exporting Apple Mail messages to Outlook for MAC 2011
Good morning,
I need help exporting Apple Mail messages to Outlook for MAC 2011. Please....It is possible to do this without external tools, but it is a tremendous faff. See
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macoutlook/import-ema il-from-mail-to-outlook-2011/5e858173-e1f4-4adc-99d7-253cc467169d?page=2 for details.
The easiest way, however, is to use Mail Exporter Pro https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mail-exporter-pro/id675131616?mt=12 which will convert the email for you from one format to the other, and comes with an excellent manual.
A third possibility is to connect Apple Mail to an email account via IMAP (this doesn’t have to be your usual account, you can just create a Gmail account for the purpose) . Copy all the messages into it and they will be uploaded. Then connect Outlook 2011 to the same account, via IMAP again, and let the messages download, then copy them to wherever you want to keep them and disconnect from that account. This is slow but preserves the attributes of your email (e.g. read/unead) better than any other method. -
How do I Backup or export the Bookmarks Toolbar?
When I export the bookmarks to an HTML file, it does not seem to contain the items on the toolbar. Is there a way to backup/Export these? If so how?
The bookmarks that are positioned on the Bookmarks Toolbar should be in an HTML backup, but are appearing at the bottom of the list.
I see this H3 element (H3 is used for folders):

I have two iMacs, each one has a separate set of bookmark folders on the bookmark toolbar. Yesterday, I restarted one iMac to update some software. I noticed this morning that the restarted iMac had the same set of bookmark folders on the bookmark toolbar as the other iMac I run. Since I want and need different bookmarks/folders on each computer, I began deleting unneeded folders from the restarted iMac bookmark toolbar.
When I began using firefox on my other iMac, I noticed that its bookmark toolbar was the same as the one I had deleted folders from. I have tried, but cannot find a way to restore these deleted folders. Is this possible to do?Hi,
It seems you have sync setup which you should disconnect if you want separate sets of bookmarks.
This article describes a way to get your bookmarks back, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/restore-bookmarks-from-backup-or-move-them
If you use time-machine for backups or any other form of backup then use that to restore the bookmarks.
Quit Firefox if it's running. In the Finder, open the Library folder in your home folder (not the Library folder at the top level of your boot volume.) Enter Time Machine and restore the following items:
Library/Application Support/Firefox
Library/Application Support/Mozilla
Library/Preferences/org.mozilla.firefox.plist
Relaunch Firefox.
Hope this helps -
Exporting selected contacts from Outlook 2011 for Mac
I've wanted to easily export a set of selected contacts from Outlook in Microsoft Office for Mac 2011. I've been through many threads about synching to Address Book and then exporting, but I've found a host of troubles, including duplicate copies of contacts being created.
So, I finally broke down and wrote an AppleScript script to export all of the currently selected contacts from Outlook to a file in either vcf (vcard) or csv (comma separated value) format. The best use of this script is to:
-- Install this as a script in Microsoft Outlook by saving the script below to Documents>Microsoft User Data>Outlook Script Menu Items
-- Change to your Contacts in Outlook. Use the Outlook search bar to find the contacts you want to export. You might search by name, category, company, or anything else that identifies the contacts you want to export. Or, you might just leave the view showing all contacts.
-- Select the contacts you want to export
-- Launch the script
The script will have you select between vcard and csv and select a destination file. This hasn't been optimized for speed, so if you're exporting 100's or 1,000's of contacts, be patient. And there isn't a progress bar at present, so you have to wait. It will display an alert when it's complete.
Sorry not to have a download location for you. You'll just have to copy the script text :-). Keep in mind there's been some but limited testing. Read the comments for details. And enjoy.

-- Note that email address are a special case as they're a list of objects in

-- be selected by the column names "home email", "work email", and "other email".
-- Outlook allows a contact to have more than one of each type of email address

-- columns in the csv like "other email 1" and "other email 2", but that's not
-- supported in this version.
-- Another note. In this version, any embedded "return" or "linefeed" characters
-- found in a property of a contact are converted to a space. That means that
-- notes, in particular, will be reformated. That said, this gets arond a problem
-- with embedded carriage returns in address fields that throw off importing

Export Apple mail to Outlook 2011 for Mac
Hi everyone,
I don't like the serie Mail/iCal/Carnet d'adresses from Apple, reason why I bought Outlook 2011 for Mac.
I succeed transferring all my contacts to Outlook.
I try now to transfer all my mails with their categories to Outlook too but I don't succeed. I read some discussions on this forum but they are obsolete as they were with snowLeopard and Outlook 2011. Would someone have good news for me and find a way to transfer all the mails with their categories from Apple Mail to Outlook 2011 for Mac ?
It would be nice and to receive a positive answer.
Thank you for your help
RenéeINFORMATION on Emailchemy from another Forum
I’ve found a way in which you can import Apple Mail into Outlook 2011 on Mac OS X Lion.
The software I’m running is Mac OS X 10.7.2 on a 2011 MacBook Pro.
You need to purchase an app called Emailchemy. It’s 29.99 for an individual license, and 49.99 for a family license. There are enterprise versions available as well.
Once you run the app, you need to do the following:
1. Export all mailboxes from Apple Mail to your desktop (or any other suitable location on your computer). You do this by selecting the mailbox, and then clicking on “Mailbox”, and then “Export Mailbox”. Save the destination, and the file is saved automatically.
2. Then you open Emailchemy and do the following:
- click on “toolbox” in the bottom left hand corner
- click on the second box on the top left hand called “advanced email conversion”
- click on “add file”
- select the folder (s) you just exported from Apple Mail (e.g. Inbox.mbox)
Now here comes the trick
- select format “apple mail 1.0 in the format option at the bottom
- then 3 sub-folders will appear “info-p.list”, “mbox” and “table of contents”
Select “mbox”
- click on “convert” and choose a save file name. Choose the format “MBOX file (standard mbox)”
- click on save
And you then have a folder created which Outlook 2011 recognizes and can import.
I just imported all my Apple Mail into Outlook 2011 – it works really well too – the formatting, attachments, etc are all there!
Hope this helps. -
Customising the toolbar PE-6 for Mac
I loved using the PE version 4 for Mac but decided to upgrade to PE 6 for Mac. I noticed that the 'Open Folder' icon was not on the toolbar and now I have to tediously go the File/Open each time I want to get into a photo (and I have a lot to go through). Is there any way to add the Open Folder icon into the toolbar? Bridge is good but I don't want to keep going back and forth within a folder.
thanksYou can't customize the toolbar for any version of Elements, unfortunately. You might try using the standard mac Open command (command+O), which will save you some mousing.

I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.5.7, and an iPad 2 running iOS 6.1.3.
On the MAC, I have Firefox for MAC v 19.0.2 and Safari 6.0.3
On the iPad, I have only Safari for iPad. I always use Firefox as my browser for the MacBook, but there is no Firefox app for the iPad.
My Safari bookmarks automatically update from the MacBook to the iPad, but not from Firefox to the iPad. Is it possible for the automatic update to be made from Firefox instead of Safari to the iPad Safari.app? If not, is there an easy way on the MacBook to keep the Safari bookmarks up to date with the Firefox bookmarks, so that the iPad shares my Firefox bookmarks?
If not possible now, are you planning to make this possible for MAC users who also have an iPad?See:

Links lost when exporting to INX file in CS4 for Mac.
I am working with a remote designer who is still in InDesign CS3, but I have CS4. We are both using Macintosh computers. When he emails me a CS3 file, I open it and it converts to CS4, and the links all seem to be just fine: They're missing, because he hasn't sent me the linked files, but the previews and the names of the links are all fine. But when I export the file as Indesign Interchange - INX - format and email it back to him, he opens it and all the links are gone -- they are replaced withe gibberish, and the only way to get the file back is to remember where the links were and manually re-link everything. This is a known bug, and I understand it was fixed in the Windows version of CS4 with an update. Does anyone know when it will be fixed in the Mac version? We are about to have to revert to QuarkXpress, because this is an untenable way to work.
Thank you.The release notes for the updates indicate that the problem was fixed. If you've applied the update, you might re-check your version number and make sure that it "took".

Exporting Acrobat File to MS Office (for MAC) 2008
I am trying to export a file from Acrobat 9.0 Pro to Excel (MAC) 2008, or numbers...What is the best way to do this so I can edit the information without having to retype 9 pages of spreadsheet data?
It's been found that having any preference files from previous versions of Office around greatly slows down Office 2008, as does the old Normal template for Word.
Close all Office applications. In your user account, go to ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/ and delete the file "Normal". The Normal template for Office 2008 is kept in a different location.
Also in your user account, go the to ~/Library/Preferences/ folder and remove the folder "Microsoft". Relaunch any Office app to have it recreate the base preference files and rebuild its font cache files. -
In the Bookmark Toolbar, the icons for websites take up too much space and are distracting. I used to use the Bookmarks - Deiconizer add-on but after updating to Firefox 22 it doesn't work anymore.
I tried adjusting the userChrome.css as in other posts but that does not work.
Please help!Hi haweyext,
Did you see this thread from yesterday:
[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/964732 How do I keep the icons out of my Bookmarks Toolbar (tried Bookmarks Deiconizer) even after downloading files?]
If userChrome.css isn't working (note: you need to exit and restart Firefox before it takes effect), you can apply that rule to Firefox using the Stylish extension instead.
Does any of that help? -
Bookmark Toolbar buttons open new tabs - how do I get them to open bookmark in current tab?
I've got the bookmark toolbar with buttons for all my bookmark links. However, when I click on one, it opens the page in a new tab. I would like those bookmark buttons to open in the current tab.
Right-click on the bookmark button. Depending on any add-ins you have, the context menu may offer you a range of options e.g. Open (in existing tab), Open in New Tab, Open in New window, etc
Try the Tab Mix Plus add-in. -
Customizing context menu in Bookmarks toolbar
I would like to change the key I need to press in order to open a web page in a new tab. When I right-click on a saved page in the Bookmark Toolbar, I can press '''W''' in order to open in new tab. I would like to change this to the '''T''' key, just like the context menu from a link on an already opened page. The '''T''' key isn't assigned to anything else in the Bookmark Toolbar context menu, so I believe this can be done.
The "T" in the context menu of the Bookmarks Toolbar is reserved for the Cut operation, so can't be used.<br />
If you cut a bookmarks by accident then use Organize > Undo (Ctrl+Z) in the bookmarks manager. -
I like the icons alongside the bookmark name. It appears that when the bookmark connects, some of the icons get automatically imported - e.g. Google, while others do not, e.g. Southwest Airlines. All of my bookmarks had icons in IE, so I assumed Mozilla would pick them up also. Is this a problem with the bookmarked website exporting the icon to Mozilla, or Mozilla polling the website to obtain the icon to display on the toolbar?
No change in my bookmark toolbar icons, using the add-on above. Again, most of my bookmarks in Firefox have the icon, but others, e.g. Southwest Airlines, Comerica Bank (i.e. large companies that I'd expect Firefox to grab the icons). Clearly IE does something different than firefox to import the icon, otherwise they'd be the same across theboard.

We are running Solaris 2.6 and are converting Reports from 3 to 6i. We want to change the name of certain objects at the command line, preferably in batch mode. Any help gratefully received.
