No iconv() implementation found in C library or libiconv?

I wasn't sure where to post this ever since the Apple discussion update, so I just put it here.
I'm trying to install glib-2.29.92, and it keeps returning the above error after using "make". It compiles fine. How can I fix it?

This solved it.
http://letsneverdie.net/blog/?p=75
./configure
Once this is complete, we’ll need to replace 3 lines in a certain source file.
From what I understand, apple’s included libiconv doesn’t support 64bit, and I happen to be building a 64bit irssi. So, let’s make the changes below to make sure the libiconv that we’ve built is used. Navigate to the ‘glib’ folder (just plain glib, the one INSIDE of the main glib source folder), and open ‘gconvert.c’ with your favorite editor.
#if defined(USELIBICONVGNU) && !defined (LIBICONVH)
#error GNU libiconv in use but included iconv.h not from libiconv
#endif
#if !defined(USELIBICONVGNU) && defined (LIBICONVH)
#error GNU libiconv not in use but included iconv.h is from libiconv
#endif
replace the last 3 lines, like so:
#if defined(USELIBICONVGNU) && !defined (LIBICONVH)
#error GNU libiconv in use but included iconv.h not from libiconv
#endif
#if !(defined(_APPLE_) && defined(_LP64_)) && !defined(USELIBICONVGNU) && defined (LIBICONVH)
#error GNU libiconv not in use but included iconv.h is from libiconv
#endif
Save and close the file in place. Now you’re ready to compile and install glib:
make
sudo make install

  • OC4J 10.1.2 - No XPathFactory implementation found for the object model

    Hello,
    We are doing some maintenance on an old 10.1.2.3.0 container. The project has to be extended with a library built with xml-apis-1.3.03.jar. I know you will suggest a upgrade, but that is a no-go - sorry, since other projects also are running on this server. So I hope some of you remember or know how to avoid or replace the oracle xml parser.
    It seems like it gets the wrong XPathFactory
    XPathFactory#newInstance() failed to create an XPathFactory for the default object model: http://java.sun.com/jaxp/xpath/dom
    with the XPathFactoryConfigurationException: javax.xml.xpath.XPathFactoryConfigurationException: No XPathFctory implementation found for the object model:
    I have searched the documentation for 10.1.2 and everything relevant on the Internet for a solution, but i seems to non-trivial when dealing with oracle xml parser. We tried to put the jar-files (xml-apis-1.3.03.jar, xercesImpl-2.8.0.jar, xalan-2.6.0.jar) in the endorsed library under the jdk, and we have already added <web-app-class-loader search-local-classes-first="true" include-war-manifest-class-path="true"/> to our orion-web.xml.
    I also know that the <shared-library> tag got introduced in 10.1.3 where you easily can replace the parser.
    Any ideas on how to deal with this exception or comments to the interpretation on the exception are appreciated.

    Hello,
    You are correct, in OracleAS 10g (10.1.2), Oracle does not expose JMX MBean server.
    OracleAS 10g R3 (10.1.3) is a J2EE 1.4 container will full support for JMX, and all the JSR-77 MBeans exposed. You can also create and register your own MBeans.
    Could you give us the different requirements you have around JMX for your application?

    Hello,
    I am trying to make an application with RFID Connection.

    Now, when it execute:
    Connector conecctor=Connector.getInstace();
    Appears an PIOSException error with the message: PIOSException: No implementations found
    Debugging, I have seen that the application not found the class: com.sap.ip.me.api.pios.impl.connection.ConnectionImpl.class
    I have seen this class in library connector_emulator.jar that it is in com.sap.ip.me.pios.emulator_1.3.3.jar.
    I have proved to copy/extract  this library in all side, but ever appears the same message: PIOSException: No implementations found
    Any idea???
    Thanks.

    Hi Javier,
    Were you able to resolve the PIOSException: No implementations found?  I'm getting the same exception with that on a mobile device running Win Mo 6.1 and SAP MI 7.1 client.
    Thanks,

  • "Photos have been found in iPhoto library that were not imported" .. There's no Import Folder to delete

    Please read the entire post prior to giving a response.
    Our 2011 MBP has had this problem for a while.  15 photos have been found in iPhoto library that were not imported (twice .. every time).  I've seen several posts that all have the same answer .. find the import folder in iPhoto, remove it and all will be fine with the world.  Some say, it's importing folder, some say auto import folder, but all say it's a folder.  Problem is, there is no such folder.  I've looked throughout the computer .. applications, iPhoto, right click to show package contents, searched and searched .. nada.  NO such folder exists.  There are quite a number of files labeled "ImportPanels.nib" and "SelectiveImport.nib" all under "Other".  There are also a number of import.tiff files with various names under "Preview".  But NO folder with IMPORT in the name.
    So, how do I get rid of the never ending 15 photos have been found in iPhoto library that were not imported?  Help that doesn't repeat what's already been noted above in other posts would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
    (BTW .. it has Mavericks installed and everything is currently updated.)

    I have no idea where you are looking.  I have nothing even similar to that.  When I go to Finder and click on Applications and then right click iPhoto (not iPhoto Library .. I have nothing with that name) and click on Show Package Contents, I have just one folder "Contents".  That opens to _CodeSignature, _MASReceipt, Frameworks, Library, MacOS, Plugins, Recurces and XPCServices .. no other folder exist.
    (I have show .. iMovie, iMovie 9.0.9, iPhoto, iTunes, iWork '09, Keynote, etc ..  No iPhoto Library Folder is listed.)
    If I go to Launchpad and right click the iPhoto icon, it opens iPhoto.  You say not the application, but I have no idea were else to find this other than Finder which is only the iPhoto application and the icon in Launchpad and the Dock.
    When I click the Library folder, the only folder is Loginterms which opens to iCloud Photos.
    There isn't any folder names Auto Import or anything close.  Searches don't help as they only find files, not folder names.
    In your picture, it shows iPhoto Library as the header .. mine never shows that, it's always the folder name.
    Where is the iPhoto Library Package?

    Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
    Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
    Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
    Start iPhoto. Does that help?
    If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.

    Dear All,
    I have a problem running my Oracle C++ client using OCCI.
    The client crashes when it tries to call the OCCI createConnection method.

    Dear All,
    I found the solution.
    It is enough to add the build flag: "-fPIC" to the g++

  • Very odd and very large file found in system library: maremoted

    Hello,
    Using a single 1.25 G4 with 10.3.9. It's been acting up and running out of space.
    We located a file called maremoted, (which we're guessing is some kind of Remote Daemon), fil, which is upwards of 30 GB. It's run by the root user and trying to trash it causes a Kernel Panic. We took out the drive and sey it as a slave to mine and I deleted it.
    The machine started up fine, but it's come back and growing. It's currently 1 GB.
    Anyone have any idea what this thing is and how to get rid of it?
    Thank you for any suggestions.
    -Vincent

    This is a daemon that is running as part of the Track-It! auditing software by Numara. I have it crashing on several Macs and respawning with a new PID which makes it impossible to kill the process. The only file that I have found growing in size is the log file found in /Library/Logs/Track-It!/Mac Audit. Both the maremoted.log and the maauditord.log are growing in size from the crashdumps. Possibly due to the server and the clients being out of sync version wise?
    The symptom is as you describe; sluggishness and unresponsiveness while performing various tasks such as Application switching, network file transfer, and typing.
    Placed a call into Numara and the two Mac experts are not in to assist. Will be calling first thing tomorrow.

  • Error Message: Photos found in iPhoto Library that were not imported

    BACKGROUND: I recently migrated my iPhoto'07 library of around 12,000 photos over to iPhoto'08. I reorganized all my albums as events. After that, I've been adding some old photos to my new iPhoto'08 library. Currently I have around 15,000 pictures in my iPhoto'08 library.
    PROBLEM: Recently, iPhoto gives me this message "990 photos have been found in the iPhoto Library that were not imported". The number (990) has been growing with more pictures I add to the library.
    OLD POSTS: Searching for prior posts related to this error in this forum, I came across a suggestion to delete the library and reimport the photos. Given my large library size (15000 photos, 60GB - all organized as events, no albums), this solution will take a lot of manual work.
    QUESTION: If anyone out there has a suggestion for how to fix this, it'll be deeply appreciated. Thanks!

    periyar:
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Open the iPhoto library package and look for any folders names Import or Imported or something like that. Here's what normally would be in the package. If you find any folders like that them move them to the desktop, open iPhoto and import.
    If there are no pending import folders try rebuilding the library and select all the options. If they are true orphans they should be imported at that time.
    Don't start over with a new library quite yet. If you have to there are ways we can preserve the keywords and comments. Also, with the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager you could copy all of the "known" photo from the old library to a new one including the albums, comments and titles. Then you can do some comparing of the two library packages and see where these left out files are.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Photos found in iphoto library that were not imported

    Whenever I try to open iPhoto, a message comes up saying that 4 photos have been found in the iPhoto Library that have not been imported. It asks me if I want to import them and I say NO but then it places them in a recovered photo folder. I keep deleting the recovered photo files but it just keeps asking me every time I go to open iPhoto! I'd love to just get rid of the "found" photos (I can't open them anyway!)
    How do I get rid of them so that I can just open iPhoto straight up without this?
    Sarah

    1 - do you have a current backup? Now is the time to use it
    I had a similar problem and tried to delete the "not imported photos" - couldn't do it until I went in through my user folder, found them, painted them and pushed delete. All of my photos disappeared.
    Can you tell exactly what you did? What "folder" you were in - what you "painted" (no idea what that means unless you mean selected)
    Realize now after reading another of your posts that I shouldn't have done this but is there any way of restoring them? I didn't get any kind of "are you sure?" warning. They aren't in "trash". Any ideas on where they might be or are they just lost- a real 4 year tragedy.
    And if you do not have a backup - this is the perfect time to start regular backups - you will have data loss again and only a backup is a sure way to recover

  • Library Disappears, Found a new library under a strange name

    My girlfriend informed me yesterday that our iTunes library had disappeared. I found all the songs still on the HDD, but playlists had disappeared and everything so I added the folder to iTunes, but today I noticed that my iTunes window name was not iTunes (above the song window where it displays iPhone sync messages and what not). It displayed ue1984. Worried about a virus, hack or whatever I started investigating this. I eventually found under 'My Music' folder that iTunes was looking at a different library. Its the folder where the playlists are stored, as well as preferences I assume.
    Now i've restorted the origional library, playlists and everything after discovering this fact. But my question is this... Where could this have come from? Have I been hacked? Virus? Glitch?

    Thanks turingtest2 for pointing out iTunes Feedback. I'm new here and I have not learned the ropes.
    I've been pokin' around in Podcasts and iTunes U. It seems like those are good possibilities. Thanks again.
    One thing I notice is that both sections sort on Newest vs Oldest which makes sense for such things. But I'd rather sort on titles. Ah, well, ya can't have everything. (Can you?)
    Your smartsource sounds interesting. Good luck.

  • Xcode 3.1 from Xcode 2.4 - Symbols not found even though library is linked?

    Hello all,
    I apologize in advance for what seem like a rather noobish question, but my Google-fu has failed me for a few hours now.
    I have inherited an Xcode project that was developed 3 years ago for OS 10.3. It needs to be slightly updated and made to run on OS 10.4 and up (PPC and x86), but I can't get the project to compile; I am getting 18 errors about symbols not being found. The symbols in question are contained in a static library, and their function definitions are contained within header files that are included. I am using GCC-4.0 and am linking against the 10.4 SDK. I have included the proper search path for the library in my build settings, added it to my Libraries group and "Link Binary with Library" build phase multiple times, and confirmed that the proper header files are included.
    I am unsure what my next step should be here; any advice or links would be most appreciated!

    Okay, after running file on my library I get:
    [code]
    my_library.a: current ar archive random library
    [code]
    Does this imply that my library is not usable on both architectures? If so, how can I find out which architectures it will work on? I don't think I can get the original source for the static library to recompile.
    Thanks so much!

  • My Mail accounts in Mail Disappeared it restarted from hanging.  The mailboxes I found at the Library, how do I put it back into MAIL?

    Please Help, My MAIL has been hanging, so I forced Quit the program, and restarted my iMac. When I opened Mail again, all the e-mail accounts both POP and IMAP accounts disappeared. Fortunately, I found the POP- Accounts in the library folder but I don't know how to link it back to MAIL.  Can somebody help me put my e-mail accounts back to MAIL.

    I have tried several tests to see whether I could duplicate your problem. And so far I haven't been able to.
    For example: I take my project files and drag them out of their project folder into a different drive (to the root level of the drive). Then I delete that original project folder. I create a new folder in the second drive and rename it to something completely different. I then drag my individual project files and folder into this new folder.
    I repeat the process with the reference event – making a new, renamed event folder on the second drive and dragging the individual files into it. Then hiding the original event folder.
    When I open FCP, it not only sees the renamed project, it is still linked to the renamed event.
    So I'm not sure whether all that's encouraging or discouraging.
    It seems to me that if you rename your original back up file (the one with the date) to Currentversion and then hide the other, it should appear in your project library in FCP.
    As far as Time Machine is concerned, it all depends on your preference settings. Open TM and se what your last BU was.
    Good luck.
