Priya.M
Hi Priya,
Before running the ejb client we need to follow the steps as given below.
1)set the weblogic environment using the setWLSEnv
2)set the classpath for ejb(home,remote and bean).
3)run the client program
Note:To set the classpath for the ejb(suppose if we placed the ejb's in ejb folder)
set classpath=d:\ejb;.; %classpath%

ThanksIf you mean can you run it as a windows 2000 service so the user doesn't see it yes you can.
I recommend the following Java Service wrapper program:
http://www.eworksmart.com/JNT/
It's quite simple to set up and will start when the user logs in (so long as the service is set to start automatically).
Hope that helps,

Class not Found Exception while running an EJB
I have created and published a EJB in Oracle 8i (in a particular
schema) by running the deployejb tool supplied. The ejb was
published successfully. On running the client program I get an

I have seen your two posts and there are something you need to notice:
Where the ClassNotFound exception you got? From deployment tool or
application server kjs process?
Of course, you need not to add supporting classes to each ejb jars or ears.
1. If you use deployment tool to package your application, I'm sure you'll
fail to resovle your classes without supporting classes added to jars.
Please select Edit->Preference,in Classpath entry, enter the supporting
classes(packaged to jar files) location. This should work.
2. After deploy to ias, please edit the registry using kregedit which you
described in your posts.

When I deploy EJBs to the iPlanet app server I find that I need to include
all supporting classes in each ejb jar file. According to the
Administrator's manual I should be able to modify the kjs classpath bydoing
the following:
On Windows
a.. Open iPlanet Registry Editor.
(See About iPlanet Registry Editor)
b.. Open the following key:
SOFTWARE\iPlanet\Application Server\6.0\Java\
c.. Modify the class path and restart the server for the change to take
effect.
However, when I add my supporting classes to a jar in this directory Istill
get a class not found exception when I run the deployment tool.
Adding the classes to each EJB jar is redundant and introduces lots of
problems. How should I configure iPlanet so I only need to put my
supporting classes in one place?
Thanks,

How to run a client program in Session bean using weblogic 8.1
Hi
I am new to weblogic server 8.1. I sucessfully deployed session ejb Session Bean. I created sessionbean jar file and put it it classpath also.
and also i created sessiobeanclient jar file, it included in class path.
While running client program it throws exception like noclass def found exception
plz tell me the right way to run the session ejb program.
byeHi,
You have to follow the given steps before you are going to run the client program that invokes the session bean .
1)set the Weblogic Environment using the tool setWLSEnv
2)place the Session bean jar file in classpath
3)run the client program
Note:If the client has to execute on remote machine we need to copy client class,remote interface, home interface and other classes which are used as
parameters and return types.

Thank you for your help info, I soloved the problem.
The problem is the ejb jar was deleted(I don't why)
then System Admin to deploy EJB jar from Admin console.
After that everything is fine.

Hi Albert,
I would double check to make sure the EJB was indeed deployed (check
server log). What message did you see that leads you to believe itwas
successfully deployed? Also, verify the JNDI name you are lookingup in
your client matches the JNDI name for the EJB. If this doesn't solve
the problem, please post the error message and stack trace you are
seeing on the client.

I have written a program in Java using RMI and it runs perfectly fine on my pc(localhost). But when I run it on the LAN in my office, the client program stucks and I get an exception
***Exception in the main client program: java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host***
***java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect***
Do we need to make some settings in the RMI server...or some firewall issue is there...By default port is 1099 as used by RMI registry server
Please help me TIA
vnx_inHi, i am having the same java.rmi.ConnectException, but the problem is that i can't even run it on localhost. I simply can't start my server, and i am getting a problem on Naming.rebind, however i think it could be because i am using an static ip to connect to internet in the LAN of my town. Does it matter in this case. I would be so thankful, because i am not able to solve it after many efforts.
Thanks in Advance :) -
Connection reset when closing the client program.
when closing the client program I get the error message Connection Reset
at ServerThread.run(SeverThread.java:244)
which is the following file
i've marked the 244: on this file on the left of the file.
after this I have the client program which is called Client.java
the error happens when I close the client program and the error is on the serverthread side of the application. Please anyone help out with this one.. Thanks.

and close the Sockets and then Readers/WritersI won't even ask why about that because it is 100% dead wrong. Close the outermost Writer or OutputStream. That flushes the output, closes the socket, and closes any input streams or readers. Taking your advice the flush() cannot occur. But the evidence is that he is closing the socket: in fact the operating system does that anyway. Possibly he needs to take the advice about closing the Writer/OutputStream, to cause the flush(), which might stop the server from writing. But that depends on the application. If it's legal in the application protocol for the client to exit while the server is still writing he will just have to put up with the 'connection resets', or at least interpret them properly rather than just logging them as an error.
If your using a window(GUI) you can use the main frame with a Window closing event.And that's completely irrelevant because the error happens on the server. -
NoClassFoundError exception while running the java program
Hi,
I am getting the following exception while running a java program CSTToGMTToSQL.java
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: CSTToGMTToSQL
However, the class file is getting created for this program in the same directory where the program is residing.
Any idea on this ?
Regards
RameshI know that in the past there was an issue with running a particular version of the SDK on a particular version of windows. The resulant error was a ClassNotFoundException. I am not sure about the versions involved.

I get errors When running the example programs SampleMetadataDiscoverer10g
I installed database is 10g release 2 on Windows XP,and AWM version is 102010A.
When running the example programs SampleMetadataDiscoverer10g.java to get the OLAP metadata,I get the following errors:

please..can someone give me some advice? thanks!I got the same error while doing "dp.initialize()"
I fixed this error by chang the the "olap_api.jar class12.jar" to "o4j.jar".
But i can't explain that.
Can anyone tell me why?
By the way , the "olap_api.jar class12.jar" are copy from the %ORACLE_HOME%\10.2.0\db_1\olap\api\lib . -

Null pointer exception when running OAF page
Hi
I am getting null pointer exception when i execute the code below.
OAApplicationModule am = oapagecontext.getRootApplicationModule();
OAApplicationModuleImpl childam = (OAApplicationModuleImpl)am.findApplicationModule("QuestAnswerAM");
oapagecontext.putDialogMessage(new OAException("PER", "XXOM_APPR_OVR_NULL_MSG"+am+childam, null, OAException.ERROR, null));
OAViewObjectImpl VO= (OAViewObjectImpl)childam.findViewObject("QuestDetailsVO") ;
OAViewRowImpl Dff1Row = (OAViewRowImpl)VO.getCurrentRow();
quest = Dff1Row.getAttribute("LastUpdateDate");
I later commented out the last 3 lines and used the code below to track the application module name.
OAApplicationModule am = oapagecontext.getRootApplicationModule();
OAApplicationModuleImpl childam = (OAApplicationModuleImpl)am.findApplicationModule("QuestAnswerAM");
oapagecontext.putDialogMessage(new OAException("PER", "XXOM_APPR_OVR_NULL_MSG"+am+childam, null, OAException.ERROR, null));
When i run the page i am getting this error:
Message not found. Application: PER, Message Name: XXOM_APPR_OVR_NULL_MSGoracle.apps.per.selfservice.appraisals.server.AppraisalsAMImpl@2982bfnull.
the above error indicates that the Root application module is AppraisalsAMImpl.
But the view i need that is QuestDetailsVO exists in a child AM that is QuestAnswerAM. However in the above diag message as you can see it returns child AM to be null.
When i click on About this page it clearly says that the QuestDetailsVO exists in QuestAnswerAM
Please help
Thanks
AshishHi
Thanks for the quick response.
I am fine with the error message:
Message not found. Application: PER, Message Name: XXOM_APPR_OVR_NULL_MSGoracle.apps.per.selfservice.appraisals.server.AppraisalsAMImpl@2982bfnull.
I am getting message not found becos I have registered only XXOM_APPR_OVR_NULL_MSG and am displaying '+am+childam' also in the exception which is not associated with the registered message.
See below.
oapagecontext.putDialogMessage(new OAException("PER", "XXOM_APPR_OVR_NULL_MSG"+am+childam, null, OAException.ERROR, null));
I am fine with that. My concern is in the error above for 'am' part i am getting the root appl module name. but for childam i am getting null
Message not found. Application: PER, Message Name: XXOM_APPR_OVR_NULL_MSGoracle.apps.per.selfservice.appraisals.server.AppraisalsAMImpl@2982bf*null*.
See the high lighted.
I will look into the current row returning -1 issue and get back to you./
Thanks
Ashish
