No navigation bar/menu in IE8

After posting site to a local folder have a trouble in viewing navigation bar in internet explorer 8.
All works good in Safari, Mazilla, google Crome.
how to solve this issue?

The iWeb navigation won't show on a PC running IE if Java is turned off.
For this reason alone it is worth considering hiding the default navigation and building your own in a text box....

Trying to make a fixed navigation bar/menu in iWeb

This has been posted before I just can't make it work. I want a nav bar (I already designed it in iweb, then moved its files and folder to another location) loaded on a snippet to have a fixed position just like in this example:

Scrolling/fluid navigation bar

Hi all.
I'm trying to achieve something like this and have no idea where to begin.
navbar has
A|B|C|D
click on C bar slides and you get
C|A|B|D
click on D bar slides and you get
D|A|B|C and so on.
Help or a link to help is much appreciated.
any ideas on direction i should take?
I've tried some various things with linking buttons to animations inside movie clips but i just don't think i'm even on the right track.

Don't mess with the code. The correct answer in this case is to use Scroll Effects.
Select the navigation bar (menu widget).
Set the before scroll motion to zero for horizontal and 1 for vertical.
Set the key position to be the "y:" location of the top of the navigation bar.
Set the after scroll motion to zero for horizontal and zero for vertical.
In this way the navigation bar will scroll normally until its top hits the top of the browser window, then it will stop scrolling (vertical scroll motion zero) and stay at the top of the browser window.

Some add-ons are missing in the tools menu and / or modules and navigation bar

I am running Firefox 20 FRENCH (this is maybe important as all of this below does not appear with the EN version...) on MacOSX 10.6.8.
Symptoms :
- Web Developer toolbar not displayed anymore.
- Xmarks add-ons not displayed in the module bar.
- Icons of other add-ons displayed in the navigation bar ONLY after the first firefox opening i.e. just after system restart. If firefox is closed and re-opened, all the add-ons icons are lost.

Fixes attempts (tried almost everything...) :

- The only thing that is working is using the ENGLISH version...
This is really annoying because as a web developer I really need the Web Developer extension.
Does anyone has an idea of how to fix this ?

Does it have any effect if you change the general.useragent.locale pref to en-US ?

After downloading firefox to a new computer and using sync I no longer have any navigation bar or menu button.

This is on a windows computer at work. It actually happened on 2 new computers. Before the sync, both the navigation bar and menu button were there. After the sync - Gone! I have tried uninstalling firefox and then reinstalling, but when I reinstall, the problem is already there, and the bookmarks from the sync reappear automatically on the reinstalled version. Is there any way to uninstall the sync?

Currently UI customizations do not sync. However you can add this about:config.
services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.uiCustomization.state = true

Cannot edit my navigation bar / drop down menu

Somebody pls help me! I am new to Dreamweaver, but have been
studying it heavily the pst 3 weeks (using Sams Teach Yourself
book).
I have inherited a site and switched their navigation bar
from the current one to a different (drop down) that was stored in
the library folder. I have TRIED AND TRIED to edit these links ,
add drdop down items, delete some, etc but cannot seem to access
the 'show pop up menu' option...it is GRAYED OUT.
When I open the library file...only a navigation bar is in
it. I select one of teh nav buttons, and I am SUPPOSE to see the +
sign in the behavior panel in bold, but it stays grayed out no
matter what I do. I have tried double clicking the text (on
MouseOver), as an MX user suggested, but no menu of options pops up
here at all (although it did for her). Furthermore, I even tried
right clicking on the behavior panel where the "on Mouse Over"
identifies the action as "ShowPop Up Menu" (vs. hide pop up menu)
and I DO get a pop up menu with "EDIT BEHAVIOR" as an option. I
click on this, and nothing happens.
UGH! WHY CAN'T I EDIT THIS???

I think your friend is confused. You have never been able to
edit the DW/FW
pop-up menus in a template controlled page in any version of
DW. This is
but one of the many reasons one would never want to use these
menus. There
are so many better ways to do them, and Alan has given you
some links....

I have no Menu or Navigation bars available when I open Firefox

While trying to delete an unused ad-on, i erroneously deleted my Menu and Navigation bars. Now, despite having uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, no menu or navigation bars are there when I open up. I can only get my homepage. How do I re-install Firefox so that i can navigate, use bookmarks, and so on? These options are still available on IE, so it's not something in my computer.

Safari 8. Tab Menu & Navigation Bar

Safari 8 no longer displays the web address of the page being viewed this is extremely annoying ! Its a pain on an iPhone using iOS but ridiculous on a Mac !
Also, we now have a silly arrangement for the tabs. In the previous version of safari it was clear if there were more tabs open than displayed as a little list button appeared on the far right of the tab bar, click that & a list of all open tabs not currently displayed would appear. Simple, neat & tidy.
Now the penultimate 3 tabs reduce in size - not the lat one because that would be too obvious. So it is not clear at a glance what additional tabs, if any, are open. This is made even less obvious by the fonts, font size, colour & fine boarders being employed by Apple in some sort of stealth mission to make applications as difficult to use as possible. Oh, it doesn't end there though, oh no ! If you want to select one of the hidden tabs you have two choices.
1. Slide the tab bar which exposes the hidden tabs hiding the previously exposed list - making it a real pain for anyone switching between tabs.
2. Use the gimmicky tab view (used to be recents - which didn't really have much point).
So the questions are:
1. How can I have the web address of the page I'm viewing displayed (at all times) in the navigation bar, as thats what it's for guys !
2. How can I have a simple drop down list of open tabs as per the previous version of Safari & get rid of the utterly pointless tab view & recents views which only serve to waste space & processor cycles ? I want to actually get some work done, I'm intelligent enough to be able to select what I want from a list of items, I really don't need pretty pictures presented 6 at a time.

It's not in General, but in Advanced on my computer. Four-finger swipe doesn't work on my MBP. Neither does Fn-F10. I did set it to swap Fn-F10 with F10, but F10 doesn't work either.
I used the menu you got by clicking the little icon at top, right corner to reveal all hidden tabs. Now I can't figure out how to access the hidden tabs efficiently. What a pain. The only good part about this is that it will encourage me to close tabs I don't actively use.

The latest Kaspersky software version is 15.0.1.415 or 15.0.1.415ab.

In navigation bar the drop down menu is not holding open when trying to select item - ONLY in Firefox.

When trying to select item from any drop down in navigation bar the menu shrinks. I seem to not be able to navigate further than 1st item on the drop down list.
However, it seems to be working in other browsers but not in Firefox.

I get the same issue. To make sure we are talking about the same thing I have uploaded a screenshot. See below.
When I hover over 'Buying' the menu pops up. I then move my mouse down over 'Your Budget' nothing happens. I then move the mouse down again over 'Leasehold or Freehold?' the menu disappears. It is not possible to click on the 'Leasehold or Freehold?' link.
I don't believe Firefox is at fault here. I think the website has not been properly tested to work with Firefox. I am not an expert in web design but other forum contributors here will be able to identify the piece of code in the site that is causing the problem.
I think the best thing you can do is to make contact with the business to let them know that their website navigation doesn't work for Firefox users.

Top Navigation Bar drop down menu's do not work

Top Navigation Bar drop down menu's do not work. It is only happening on a couple of my site collections and is affecting on the main page of those collections. There is only one web part on the main page, it is the Picture Library Slideshow web part. When
I remove that web part, the menu's come back and work with no problem. I re-add the web part and the menu's stop working. Not finding any error's in the server logs, there are no visual error's thrown. Any advice on what might be happening? I've checked
the Java update on our computers and it has the latest version. Open to any advice at this point.

Drop Down menu for navigation bar

I created a site a couple years ago (with GoLive) with a
navigation bar with rollover states. I would like to create
something very similar to it now in Dreamweaver CS3 but with the
addition of a drop down menu for just a couple of the navigation
icons. I have been told by Adobe tech support on the phone that I
need some custom coding to do this.

Combine menu bar and navigation bar in a single horizontal space

I would like to have the navigation bar controls to the right of the menu bar options in the same horizontal space, saving vertical space. This could be done with side-by-side bars or one "compound bar".

Use the procedure in the following link. It shows how to customize the toolbars, allowing you to drag and drop the items you want onto the menu bar. You can then hide the navigation toolbar - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/how-do-i-customize-toolbars
You can, if you prefer, hide the menu bar and it will be replaced with the Firefox button. To do that right-click on a toolbar and click on the "Menu bar" entry to de-select it. Hide Navigation and Menu bars when playing Captivate HTML

This is probably a beginner question, but what can you do to have your Captivate output play in a browser window that has the menu and navigation bars hidden? We want users to have the course play in a window that only displays the captivate SWF with the internal menu controls. As part of this we'd like to have the window open to the exact size of the SWF file.
If anyone can help with this, I would appreciate it.

I've seen JavaScripts that allow sizing and placing a window, but if you wish to remove the chrome elements such as the Menu bar, Toolbars and such there is no way to do that from inside the window you are in. It has to be scripted when creating a new window.
It's a browser security thing. If you could turn these features off from inside the browser you are in, folks that wanted to have their way with your internet experience could trap you in a site and not allow a means of escape!

After upgrading to 4.0 my navigation bar no longer appears, it is checked as show in the menu but it doesn't. I downgraded and it still is missing.

I no longer have a navigation bar.
It IS checked to show up, it isn't there with it checked or unchecked.
