No Planned order created for semi finished

Hello PP Experts,
I have a semifinished material which is used for several materials and everywhere it works fine, hence a planned order is created, except for one material.
I have checked pretty much every entry for differences on this material. The only difference I found is that the Indicator: recursiveness allowed was set.
Do you think this might be the reason why no planned order is created ?
I tried to unflag the recursiveness indicator and saved the bom. But the update latest forever and finally the whole update service got stuck.
Thus I deleted the indicator on the database, but still no planned order was created. Not sure though which checks are behind that field.
Thanks for any ideas!

I have checked pretty much every entry for differences on this material. The only difference I found is that the Indicator: recursiveness allowed was set.
Did you compare the entries table wise? STPO for the working bom and the bom with problem with same material.
Make sure in BOM >> item detail >> status/long texts
Bulk is not checked
Material provision indicator is not entered.
Also check if the production order type of problematic one is different. If yes check setting in OPL8 and the field Reservation/Purch. Req.

  • Valuated Sales Order stock for Semi-Finished Products

    Dear Gurus,
One of my client faced the issue that the semi-finished products is valuated-sales order.  We are in Mill Industries, downstream (steel processing).  The situation is:
    1.  We use configuration material for both finished and semi-finished products. Both are valuated at standard costs with valuated sales order stock.
    2.  Once the sales order is created, the cost estimates are created for both Finished, and semi-finished products.
    3.  The production orders is created for the semi-finished products.  During production, several semi-fg and fg can be manufactured at the same time.   We are using the co-products feature to cover that.
    4.  During the goods receipt of semi-finished products, instead of using the standard costs in sales order cost estimate, it use the planned costs in production orders which against our design.
I tried to use the user exit COPC002 and influence the standard costs.  But it seems that the routine is not called for semi-fg at all.  Anyone has any light on this?

  • Plan order created for Outbound delivery

    Hi Gurus,
For some materials, When MRP is run it generates plan order for Outbound material with same qty as that of outbound delivery.
What setting should be done as not to generate plan order for outbound delivery.
    thnx in advance.

    Hi,
There is nothing in message control tab for outbound parameter(we20) and even there are multiple changes in delivery.
What we do is as soon as the delivery is created .  Z trnx is executed  which changes the dec whse status A(Relevent ) to  B (distribution) simulteneously outbound Idoc is created and delivery details send to whse.
Normally there will be one outbound idoc per delivery , but in this case there are 2 (duplicate)

  • Stop netting for semi finished materials

    Hi all,
We are still using 46C. We have finished goods that are configurable and we use SUPERBOMs to pick the component that go along with the finished goods. I have a requirement where I have to stop the netting process for some semi finished materials in a certain storage location. We currently use strategy group '40' for semi finished.
I tried to use storage location MRP indicatior (MRP 4 view, sloc indicator). By doing so MRP stopped the netting which is what I wanted but it also stopped creating any new planned orders.
I want planned orders to be created but MRP should not read the stock. For example if the requirement is of 10 pcs and I have lets say 6 in stock, I still need planned order of 10.
I am more leaning toward writing a Z program to wipe out the inventory every night before the MRP run but was curious to see if there is any strategy group that I can use on the components to satisfy my needs.
Thanks a lot for your help.

    Srikant

    Hi Srikant
For this situation you can go for a User Exit! while MRP run
        1. first create a user defined field in the material master for Unrestricted stock exclusion.
2, create the User exit which should be used while plant level MRP run.
the user exit should select materials for exclusion of SLOC stock.
for those materials you can use the following logic in the user Exit
if the Unres stock is availbale then then user exit should dynamically create a safety stock value so that MRP will neglect the Unrestricted stock and create the Proc Proposal for full quantity.
    hope this helps

  • Production for semi finished material

    Dear gurus,
i had a scenario where semi finished material is combination of different batches, for production of semi finished material i had 6 operations in  which  up to 3rd operation i have 3 production lines in which each batch in the line is identified by different batch no and in 4th operation all batches are mixed and if new batch is coming into 4th operation the material which is already in 4th operation enters 5th&6th  operation continously for semi finished material  and enters remaining operations for finished material production .semifinished material is not stored in any place it is continously flow from 6th operation which is semi finished material  to another operation which is used for producing finished material.
suppose for week i require 100 m3 of finished material , and for each batch i can produce 2 m3 in each production line ,i require 50 batches for week .the production is continous .
can i follow by creating 50 production orders each of different batch ,by creating semi finished material in 4th operation , can any one please suggest .
    Thanks

    Hi Jitendra,
Checking Control (OPJJ) has no relation with MRP.It is useful in the case of Plan and Production / Process Order only to find out Missing part.
    Now come to MRP again.
You have a choice of only 3 type of stocks to include or exclude them during MRP run while rest of the things like (PO,PR,Reservation etc are consider by default)
Go to OPPQ and after selecting Plant go to Available Stock. You will find that options,
    - Stock in Transfer
    - Block Stock
    - Restricted Stock.
And one more thing Reservation is not a available stock but its one kind requirement and if there is no stock then system will activate the Planning file entry and during next MRP run it will generate Planning proposal also.

  • Collective Planned orders Scheduling for lower level orders with reference to the Superior order

    Hi All,
    Collective planned order scheduling.
I have been trying to reschedule the superior planned order and i was expecting the lower level planned orders to reschedule based on the superior planned order.
    My problem is
when i try to reschedule the superior planned order the system is not rescheduling the lower level planned orders.
For example if i change the basic finish date of superior planned order as 30/09/2014 and reschedule the planned order it is only scheduling the header planned order and the lower level planned order is not scheduling.
Could some one tell me why this is not happenning at planned order level.
As the rescheduling of collective order will work at production order level but for some reason it is not happening at planned order level(as there is no option available to do so).
Please give your thoughts on this asap.
    Mahee.

    Hello Mahee
Please observe that your system is working as designed. Planned orders are scheduled independently, even when they are part of a network/collective order. Note 152319 explains the planned order scheduling in detail and it provides the following information:
    * No scheduling of overall networks is executed although a directly manufactured component is assigned.
Note that no scheduling of the overall network is executed for planned orders. For the components requirements dates are determined. In order to cover them, planned orders are created in the next MRP run. Since the requirements are not managed using the exact time, the results of the planned order scheduling and of a scheduling of the overall network of the converted collective order can differ.

  • Firmed planned order creates a type of firmed horizon

    Hi Gurus,
we had following system behavior the other day (actually a few months ago) that we weren't able to explain.
It was beginning of November and a colleague of mine was creating his production schedule for the week before x-mas (i.e. another 7 weeks in the future). He was working at it and was called away for something and postponed the planning to another day in the week. The next morning he noticed that the MRP considered everything between today (must have been around the 5th of November) up until the 18th of December (the day he had firmed the planned order to) as a firmed horizon and didn't want to put any planned order inside.
Even worse... all planned orders created by the MRP - now scheduled for after the 18th - had an exception message to schedule them in, as they came too late.
Did anybody ever experience this behavior? If yes, please let me know, where I can manipulate this!
    Any help greatly appreciated!
    Thanks & regards,
    Bobby

    Hi Rupesh,
first of all: thanks for joining!
here are the answers to your questions:
    1.) lot-size = EX (i.e. not periodic)
2.) no overlaps defined for EX in OMI4
3.) no time fence and the rescheduling horizon is set to 100 days
Looking at the rescheduling horizon and what is described in the OSS-note, I think I found it. The system actually works as designed. What we failed to do was to update the factory calendar with the downtime over x-mas back then. If we had done so, the demand would have been pulled forward, which means that the firmed order would have been consumed, instead the demand was distributed over the following for weeks.
With the rescheduling horizon being so long, the system used the firmed order to cover all up-coming demands first using the firmed order before the MRP created other planned orders. It just happened that this one order was so big that it covered everything until then and that it looked like a "firm period".
    Thx for your help!
Points will be awarded for pointing in the right direction...

    Bobby

  • Handling Planned order created from Demand planning and Sales order in MTO

    Hi all
In MTO\ Repetitive we genrate Dependent requirement from demand planning (PIR) after running MRP which finally planned order created but on the other hand in short term we have Sales order which generate planned order after running MRP(In MTO), How we should handle planned order generated from Demand planning and the ones generated from sales order.(both after MRP Running).
    Regards
    Babak Bolourchi

    Dear,
You can combine the planning strategy also main as 56 and second as 65 and in demand managment MD61 you have the option select requirement type.
Then while creating sales order use MTO strategy and take MRP run through MD50 and then MD02.
and if you want to assign the stock to sales order then you and do it through MB1b with 412 E movement type.
As per my knowledge, generally 56 strategy only takes Sales Order Stock into consideration.
Consider setting the Individual/Collective indicator to 2.
Mark those characteristics that should have a usage probability in demand management as Relevant for planning.
    Hope clear to you.

  • How to indentified work orders created for an trasfered asset in EAM

    Dear All,
We have a businees requriment, where we need to list of workorders created for an asset which has been transfered from one EAM org to another EAM org.
    Business case :
1.We have an asset BX3003 in WSB (eAM org), i have performed move asset transaction from maintenance super user to transfer this asset to other eAM org (GSW) and created a workorder in this org.
2.Now we get this work order in to a custom report called work order created for transfered assets
Can any one help us on this issue.
    Thanks a lot
    Praveen

    Hi,
Yes, you can generate active calls into the future. First ensure that you have set a scheduling period in each relevant maintenance plan. This determines how far into the future you want calls to be generated. Also make sure the completion requiremment flag is not set.
The calls can be generated via IP30 (or schedule with RISTRA20). Make sure the interval for call object is set to a sufficient length of time. This has the same function as the scheduling period in the plan. However the lower of these two values will be effective. To ensure the calls are not set on hold - set the immediate start for all flag. This setting will ensure the calls are scheduled and orders generated.

  • Material price for semi finished.

    Dear All,
What is the suggesatable price control for semi finished goods. i.e., either moving ave price or standard price.
    Regards,
    Venkat.

    Dear Venkat Ramana,
    <b>SAP recommends: </b>
    Price control <b>V</b> for <b>Raw materials</b> and <b>Trading goods</b>;
                       <b>S</b> for <b>Semi-finished products</b> and <b>Finished products</b>.
You are required to valuate Semi-finished and Finished products with actual prices that correspond to the costs of the actual production, SAP recommends you use the function of the material ledger for this. Here, a periodic actual price is created that is calculated on a much more reliable basis than the moving average price. A so-called price limiter quantity is used. In addition, it is possible as of Release 4.5 to even take into account the variances of the actual prices of the Raw materials in the valuation of the Semi-finished and Finished products that are manufactured from it.
    With regards,

  • Planned order link for Strategy group 40

    Dear All,
We are creating sales order for a material which is having strategy group 40. Requirement Type KSV is determined in the sales order. Let us assume that we don't have stock for this material. After MRP run, planned order has been created for sales order qty. Now I want to get planned order number for sales order at table level or any using any FM to use Z report. I can check the planned order number in MD4C by giving sales order number in the input screen but I want to know where and how to get the link for Z report. Please any one help me out on this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Babu

    any idea/update on this.....

  • How can I set a fixed scrap qty on planned orders created by MRP?

During production of some specific subassemblies, destructive testing is done that requires us to scrap two pieces per production order.  I know I can set an assembly scrap percent, but what I need instead is a way to set a fixed assembly scrap quantity that will get loaded onto every planned order created by MRP for these subassemblies.  If we can't do this, we can't plan the correct order quantity and eventually end up being short of parts.  I know we can set a safety stock or safety time, but I'd rather just plan the right quantities if possible.
Is there a user exit, configuration option, or master data setting that will allow me to do this?
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi Randy
This can be solved by one solution. _You can try this._
You define the same item in BOM again with qty 2 nos. Double click on the item no. Then it will take you to item detail. There in Basic data tab page at quantity data  ( Tick the fixed quantity. ).
When ever BOM explodes for the header material automatically The item will be exploded 2 nos extra.
    Ex
The header is Mat X and items is Mat Y. While creating BOM for X give item Mat Y in item no 10. give the quantity as per the requirement.
And again give item Mat Y in items no 20. give quantity 2 nos and activate the fixed quantity tick as instructed above.
When ever requirement for Mat X is 100 nos. The plan order for Y will be 102 nos .
    Hope this will clear.

  • Authorisation for Semi Finish Product Only....

    Hi Experts,
I want to give authorisation for MM01 transaction and for only material type 'Semi Finish'. How to give only for Semi Finish to create?
For display I want to give full authorisation ?

    1. Use transaction MMB1 which is specially designed for creating semi-finished products. However I don't know of this really blocks the road for creating materials of another type.
    2. If you really want to authorize on Material Type you need to set an authorization group on the material type. In SPRO: Logistics - General --> Material Master --> Basic Settings --> Material Types --> Define Attributes of Material Types. Select Material Type HALB and type in a ctext of your choice in the Authorization Group field (tip: just use the name of the Material Type: HALB).
Restrict on Authorization object M_MATE_MAR as follows:
    M_MATE_MAR
      Activity                    01, 02
      Authorization Group  HALB
    M_MATE_MAR
      Activity                    03
      Authorization Group  0-HALA, HALC-Z
    Good luck!
    Points are always appreciated!
    Kind regards,
    Lodewijk
