No unread email but my blackberry shows there is...?

Yesterday I got an email and I read it then downloaded some pictures to it so I could see them. I then deleted it but realized after the read email symbol to show there is an unread email was still there. There are no emails in any of my message folders but it seems to think I have one...I have restarted it and tried un-thinking that email address and then ticking it again but it still brings it back. I have also received emails since to that address but it still hasn't budged. Please help :/

Please try this sequence :
On your home screen Go to main Message Box ,open it go over a Specific date say today then Press Menu key > scroll and click " Mark Prior Read " . then perform a battery pull restart like this : device power on remove battery,wait for a min. then reinsert and wait till it reboot , see if it is still there

On my wife's iPhone 4s, running the latest iOS, Mail shows over 5000 unread messages, but there are actually only 4 in the Inbox. Anyone out there who has experienced this and have a fix?

You need to log into your email on a browser and delete them from there.

IPhone 4 showing 662 unread emails but non exist!!

After upgrading to ios7 (BIG mistake, it is horrible, icons look like a child has designed them and the colour scheme is terrible) one of my email accounts is showing 662 unread emails but there are non there.
I have tried switching the account of, rebooting then back on again as I read on the forum but it didn't work.
Any ideas?

Found the solution and it was really simple.
When you do actually have a new mail in the mailbox go to edit>select all> mark as unread
Then go back and edit again, this time select all>mark as read
And the notification of 662 unread mails dissapeared:)

Inbox says 1 unread email but there are none

basically what the headline says. A couple of days ago I quickly deleted a few emails from my phone and moved to another application. Ever since then the inbox says there is one unread email but there isn't!

1800 unread emails but an empty folder

my iPhone 5s running ios8 shows 1800 unread emails but when I look in the unread email are there are no emails. How do I empty the unread folder

Either they're somehow hidden or as I've mentioned they may be in another folder, if the account has webmail access then you could log on & see if they're listed under an 'all mail' folder or another.
You could also try recreating the account using imap & see if that shows the unread messages, as if you're using the same account on two or more devices with pop then it might not be deleting them correctly so when you access the account on another device it shows them as unread even though they've been read &/or deleted.

My mail app on my iPad is saying I have 3 unread emails but all my emails have been read

I was just wondering if anyone could help me as my mail app is displaying that I have 3 unread emails, but I have gone back through all the folders and I have not! I have turned my iPad off and then back on again and it still hasn't got rid of the problem. Please can someone help?!

Quit Mail.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.

As long as you didn't create a new ID and merely changed the email address that you use for your Apple ID - go to Settings>iTunes and App Store. Tap your old ID and sign out. Then sign in with the changed ID.
If you created a new ID, you need to continue to use the old ID in order to update apps since purchases are always tied to the ID used to make the purchase.

Mail shows 3 unread emails but i've read them on my android phone phone and they are marked as read on GMAIL.

Hello, I know that Mail in Mavericks has a lot of problems, but i still haven't read about this one. I returned home and saw 3 unread emails, when opened, i've noticed that i've already read them earlier today using Gmail on my android phone. So i opened Gmail webmail and they were marked there as read as well. Even after checking for new mail manually, they were unread in my Mail.app. I had to open these emails to mark them as read.
Have anyone of you experienced the same behavior?

My iCloud iPhone email indicates one unread email but none there.

For some reason, after upgrading to IOS6, my icloud email acount (inbox) indicates I have one unread email. But there are no such messages in my inbox. My MBP shows the same emails but does NOT indicate any unread messages. How do I get rid of the indication on my iphone. The iPhone is a 4S.

Try resetting the iPhone by pressing and holding the home and power buttons simultaneously until you see the apple appear. Many times this will clear whatever is causing the badge to hang.

I use my mac air mainly for work but also have logins for each of my children. Their email accounts sit on my computer because I really like lions parental controls (our other computer is a pc running windows xp and the parental controls suck!). Does anyone know if it is possible to have a notification of some sort on the login screen which shows when a user has unread emails? My kids don't use the computer that much and sometimes don't receive emails for days because we don't remember to check (they are only 9 and 7 yrs so don't get alot of emails as yet). I don't believe that is possible. There may be some kind of tool you could use to display unread counts for their accounts in the menu bar or somewhere similar on your account... but I'm not aware of what tool might do that. A quick look only turns up tools that work with Mail or other mail clients, rather than being able to connect to a separate IMAP account and check the mail there, independent of any mail client.
