"noexec on" function parse errors, any alternatives?

Hi there,
I'm strugling with the noxec option which still produces sql compile errors (not a simple syntax error).
Situation:
We use a custom delta script pattern which stops the execution on certain conditions by setting
noexec.
This is working fine so far but the problem starts when an old delta script is about to run.
We can still set noexec but functions which do not match in their parameter count (which is unavoidable) produce this error message:
An insufficient number of arguments were supplied for the procedure or function ...
This is pretty painful, because it's still valid syntax. We wouldn't care about the error, but the whole SQL Publish process is aborted by this kind of error.
Question:
Is there an alternative for that (besides wrapping everything in dynamic SQL)?
Maybe there's some kind of SQL Publish like "Ignore all 313 errors" which I could not find?
Regards and thanks in advance!
Knickedi

Thank you for your responses!
SQL Publish
SQL Publish is used by WebDeploy (which seems to be build on top of MSDeploy). (It's quite confusing and maybe I'm getting things wrong, so bare with me). In short: You can Publish a Web-Project in Visual Studio with WebPublish (server must support it) and
you have the option to list SQL files which will be executed against your Database (we have a staging application for testing we publish against before we publish against our productive application).
Example
Here's some stripped down example of our delta script:
We check for the version and if its already present we avoid executing it (noexec off at the end). So in this example I get the wrong parameter count message, because the function has changed in the next versions.
declare @retVal int;
execute @retVal = SpDeltaCheck('v1.2')
if @retVal <> 0
begin
set noexec on;
end
go
CREATE VIEW [Test]
AS
SELECT dbo.FnWithWrongParamCount(t.Id) as TestValue,
FROM Test t
set noexec off;
go
parseonly seems to be what we're looking for but you can't execute it conditionally in an if-block. It will be set as soon it is parsed.
Further consideration
Of course we could remove the old scripts after every successful publish but then we start adding further traps and complexity for the publisher. Because every developer will add scripts and that's not just one per version but one per git push (if s/he has
database changes). The idea was to list them all and don't care about which was already executed.

  • DECODE SQL Function - Parsing error in Defining Objects in Universe Designe

    Hi,
    I have created a class and an object in BO XI R3 Universe designer.
    I am getting the parsing error while defining the object when using the custom SQL as
    select decode(matteraction,null,decode(matterissue,null,'MATTER','ISSUE'),decode(matterissue,null,'TYPE IS ACTION',' ACTIONu2019)) as TYPE from wh_cf_cmsu
    The object Type is "character", i have tried with Long Text, Number, Date as well and the same sql works fine by returning String values through TOAD.
    Do we have any constrains in using DECODE in BO XI R3 or any other syntax please....
    Please guide me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks,
    Karthik.

    Hi,
    1.At back end check the data type for matteraction column and define it accordingly in object definition.
    2. Try to break your select clause definition into smaller parts and check it where the exact issue is  as below
    i.select decode(matterissue,null,'TYPE IS ACTION',' ACTIONu2019) ............
    ii.select decode(matteraction,null,decode(matterissue,null,'MATTER','ISSUE') ..........
    iii.select decode(matteraction,null,decode(matterissue,null,'MATTER','ISSUE'),decode(matterissue,null,'TYPE IS ACTION',' ACTIONu2019)) as TYPE from wh_cf_cmsu

  • RE: Getting ORA-01003: no statement parsed error

    Hi,
    It looks familiar to some of the error which I encountered before. The
    situation was a for ... select loop without explicit begin/end transaction.
    The reason given by Forte consultant is that:
    The dbsession used by the for ... select loop needed to be locked by a
    begin/end transaction otherwise, there may be chances that the dbsession is
    being acquired by some other sql that unknowingly corrupted the cursor
    implicitly built for that for ... select loop.
    Hopes this help.

  • Any alternative to ago function

    Hello,
    I am using obiee 11g.Trying to use ago function at quarter level with the date prompts as filter
    instead of year prompt but somehow the data is not matching properly.
    Would like to know if there is any alternative to ago function?
    I just want to calcultate the count(distinct(id)) for current and previous quarter,where the report gets filtered by date fields.
    The report has user column,quarter column and the currrentcount and previous count.
    like
    user1->Q1->10->19
    user1->Q2->20->10
    User3->Q1->11->26
    Any help on this please?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    Thanks for reply.
    Is the grain below quarter level?
    ------> Calc date is below quarter level in the time dimension,Time dimesnion has FS Year(level1)->FS Quarter(level2)->Cal Date and Time key(Time key is the primary key with the combination of cal date and the pk of some other table (level3))
    Does quarter exists as a field in your date dimension?
    --------->Yes Fs Quarter is a field/column in the table and in the dimension
    check if quarter is a chronological key, does your quarter contain year in it(2011-02)?
    -------->In each level i have key defined, also in the FS Quarter i have.
    In the level3 i have both the key defined as key but cal_date as pk.
    Yes, Data of the qtarter is in the form 2012-01.
    Do you have quarter in your report, without date field?
    --------->yes, the report has FS_qtr,count for current qtr,count for previous qtr using ago function
    and the filter used is cal_date>='01-JUN-11'
    facts->
    There is a view in the database which is being created for time dimesnion.
    The view has
    FS_Year , FS_Qtr , Calc_Date ,Cal_month , cal_qtr, TimeKey(PK) , Pk_from someother_table_acting_as_fk.
    Please let me know where i am going wrong?
    One more thing i would like to add if i use the filter as FS_YEAR>=2011 then the counts comes perfectly.Problem is with cal date field.Just not bale to understnd where i am i going wrong?
    Please help
    Thanks

    Pierre,
    Depending on the object "myLastFile", the method openDlg might not even exist (if the myLastFile object is not a File object, for instance). And I do not see any need for the myLastFile anyhow, as you are presenting a dialog to select a file to open. I recommend using the global ChooseFile( ) method instead. This will give you a filename as string in full path notation, or null when no file was selected in the dialog. I am not sure what your ExtendScript documentation states about the return value for ChooseFile, but if that differs from what I am telling you here, the documentation is wrong. So, if you replace the first lines of your code with the following it should work:
    function openXMLFile ( ) {
        var filename = ChooseFile ( "Choose XML file ...", "", "*.xml", Constants.FV_ChooseSelect );
    While writing this, I see that Russ has already given you the same advice. Use the symbolic constant value I indicated to use the ChooseFile dialog to select a single file (it can also be used to select a directory or open a file - but you want to control the opening process yourself). Note that this method allows you to set a start directory for the dialog (second parameter). The ESTK autocompletion also gives you a fifth parameter "helplink" which is undocumented and can safely be ignored.
    Good luck
    Jang

  • Processing this item failed because of a PDF parser error. Input string was not in a correct format.

    Good Morning,
    We're having issues parsing several hundred PDF files located in two separate Record Center sites. All other PDF documents in the environment are being crawled and parsed without issue. I've verified the permissions for the Search service account, but that
    doesn't seem to be the issue. Searching for this particular error hasn't returned much, but I have ensured that the Search service account has been added to the necessary Local Security Policy objects and cleared the configuration cache. Any help would be

    I am getting the same error even in Acrobat version 8.1.3.
    Additionally, I noticed that if we click on menu ‘Advanced->Sign&Certify->Preview Document’, then we get a notification as “This document is not PDF/SigQ compliant and may display inconsistently”. On clicking  ‘View report’ on that notification, the below dialog pops up. It has errors listed as:-
    Code 4000 : Unrecognized PDF content. The document contains PDF content or custom content not supported by the current version of Acrobat.
    Code 4002: PDF content contains erros.
    However, if we sign the PDF using default adobe signature functionality and reopen that PDF, the error does NOT come and the notification also says ‘This document is PDF/SigQ compliant’.
    Can anybody please suggest what could be missing in the custom sign that we apply? Is it because of any of the missing fonts or any other resources?
    Awaiting reply!
    Regards.

  • Creating chart leads in XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: /svg

    Hello ALL,
    I searched this forum but unfortunately I find not a solution for the following use case:
    described in steps
    1.) create a region with chart (typ = line) -> o.k.
    2.) create a sql statement to have data in the chart -> o.k.
    3.) running report with this created region and chart -> vizualisation o.k.
    3.) create a data picker item ":P21_END_DATE"
    4.) replaced the where clause "WHERE a_timestamp >= To_date ('01.02.2007', 'dd/mm/yyyy HH24:MI') -1/24" with WHERE a_timestamp >= To_date (:P21_END_DATE, 'dd/mm/yyyy HH24:MI') -1/24
    5.) running report with this created region and chart and data picker item -> vizualisation not o.k. I get the attached error message.
    I read already in the forum and knows that the end tag of the svg section is lost put I only changed in my query the described value. Does any body can help me please ??
    king regards

  • Urgent help needed please, with parse error message

    Hi. I've got a page which comes at the end of a 3 page sequence - search, results, detail. The detail page had been working fine, but yesterday I added a second recordset to the page, to pull reviews from a separate table, and now I'm getting the following error:
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')', expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or '$' in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/goodvetguide/practice_Detail.php on line 78
    (should point out that I'm using DMW8 on a Mac and testing locally using MAMP as my testing server).
    line 78 is:
    if (isset()) {
      $Parampractice_id_WADApracticelist = (get_magic_quotes_gpc()) ?  : addslashes();
    and the full code for the page is posted below. I've googled this error and found a variety of different reasons for why this might be happening but none of the examples I've seen appear to apply to my case, so I'd really appreciate any assistance anyone can offer with this. Thanks in advance.

    I haven't studied your code in detail, but it looks very much as though you have been editing the page without properly removing server behaviors through the Server Behaviors panel. Look at the following section:

    You have the connection file attached twice, and the GetSQLValueString() function is defined twice. However, the cause of all your problems lies here:

    Look how many times the same code is repeated. What's causing the problem are the three final sections where there is no argument passed to isset().
    Delete the code highlighted in red.

  • Parse errors on php page...

    I am new to php and am trying to create a php form on a website I am building for a friend. The form looks like I want it to on the page.
    http://www.mosaleen.com/order.html
    It also works... sending the info to my email upon submit and redirecting me to the "Thank you for your order page".
    The code to make the form function actually rests on the thank you page... I am attaching the code below.
    http://www.mosaleen.com/Order.php
    Problem is that when I validate the php page it tells me that there are parsing errors. Specifically:
    Unable to determine parse mode
    Line 1, Column 1:character "Y" not allowed in prolog
    AND
    Line 1, Column 85:end of document in prolog
    Does anyone know where the problem is? I have checked my css sheets and they are validating just fine, so there shouldn't be any issue there. The php script was adapted from the one at  http://dreamweaverspot.com/adobe-dreamweaver-tutorial-contact-forms/ if that helps.
    <?php
    $my_email = "[email protected]";
    $continue = "thankyou.html";
    $errors = array();
    // Remove $_COOKIE elements from $_REQUEST.
    if(count($_COOKIE)){foreach(array_keys($_COOKIE) as $value){unset($_REQUEST[$value]);}}

    I have changed the code to where the php form section is within the html of the page I created. (posted below)
    http://www.mosaleen.com/order_thanks.php
    This option gets rid of the parsing error but creates 16 errors in code when validated. It still looks right and still emails correctly.
    Is there a tutorial somewhere... or a simpler php code that would submit this form to email? It doesn't need to be fancy.  Or... if one of these options work, which one should I work with.
    Or... does it really matter that I am having the parsing error since the code looks right and is working? Not that it is clean design to leave it that way...
    I think the problem lies in trying to insert the php coding ( that submits the form to email ) inside the thank you page... but Im not sure how else to handle this. Any suggestions?
    Andrea

  • Parser Error In Portlet Startup

    We have a portlet application that uses Crystal Reports. It uses the spring framework and runs fine in our development environment (Pluto) but when trying to deploy on the production environment (WebSphere) we get an xml parsing error during the startup. Removing the Crystal Reports jars solves the problem but of course the reports portion of the application won't work. So is there a different set of jars for portal and specifically WebSphere? Or is there xml related functionality in the CR jars  and would eliminating them from the lib solve the problem since there may be framework jars that provide the same functionality in the production environment?
    Here's a snippet of the error:
    Unexpected exception parsing XML document from ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/sys-cfg/applicationContext.xml]; nested exception is java.lang.VerifyError: javax/xml/parsers/DocumentBuilder.setEntityResolver(Lorg/xml/sax/EntityResolver;)

    The only officially tested and fully supported product for Crystal Reports on Portal Servers/Portlets are the JSR-168 Portal Integration Kits supplied with BusinessObjects Enterprise or Crystal Reports Servers.
    There's currently not a fully tested Portal solution for Crystal Reports Java Reporting Component.
    There's no different sets of jars for different Web Application Servers with any Business Objects products.
    Are you able to isolate which XML file contains the problematic schema?  I'm assuming the error message you have does not show this info.
    Other than that, a possible difference is that different XML parsers are being used between your dev and prod web app servers.   I've known issues where the XML parser supplied with Crystal was incompatible with the shared default parser supplied with Web App Servers.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • WDDX Parse error in cfadmin Mail Spooler respool

    I recently discovered that emails were not being sent and were stacked up in the spooler.  In the CF Administrator interface, I verified that the mail server  connection was fine and it was. I went to "View Undelivered Mail" (under mail spool settings), reviewed the emails that were stuck and selected a random message to "respool".  Unfortunately, on every attempt to respool an email (one or many), I get the following error: "Error: WDDX packet parse error at line 1, column 1. Content is not allowed in prolog.."
    I have restarted the windows service twice, checked my email host...all to no avail. The error still occurs.
    I also unchecked the spooling option and emails (new ones only, not the spooled ones) are coming through just fine.
    I'm running CF9 full on Windows XP.
    How do I get the respool function working so I can send the stuck emails?  all suggestions welcome.

    I checked 32bit version of libnnz10.so has all above undefined symbols. This looks really weird to me why 64 bit version of libnnz10.so doesn't define these symbols.
