Nokia 5200 starting problem

Hi!
I got my Nokia 5200 cellphone just weeks ago and i noticed one thing about its settings. When i turn "Slide animation" off and turn my phones power off and then on, Slide animation setting goes to on. What is the problem?

My phone does this as well!! The slide animation keeps bugging me and when I switch it off, the phone gets all confussed, reboots itself and forgets the chances to the settings I have put in place!!

Nokia 5200 - Ringtone problems

Hey everyone!
I've recently bought the Nokia 5200, and I'm having lots of difficulty with setting a ringtone. Originally, I used the USB cable and transferred a bunch of MP3s onto my SD card. When I try to set one as a ring tone, I get "Cannot set as a ringing tone."
So then I downloaded PC Suite, and I used a .aac file, which was the format one of my original phone ringtones were - but I still got the same message, even though I put it into my Ringtones folder with the PC Suite.
Is it just my phone, or are all Nokia 5200s like this? =\

I have exactly the same problem... 5300, provided by Rogers, and whether I try to set it from the media player or from the ringtone page, I still get "cannot be set as ringing tone". I already tried a very small file: 85K. So it should not be a size, and I tried both mp3 and aac files...
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Nokia 5200 - bluetooth problem

Hi,
I bought a Transcend 1GB microSD card for my Nokia 5200.
I was able to transfer approx. 600 MB of songs via Bluetooth from my laptop first time I tired. The Memory card shows nearly 400 MB free space but I am not able to transfer any more data.
The error I am facing is :
FTP error - possible error - folder is not empty or file/folder is read-only.
Any help is appreciated.

wow...sounds great..in order to solve the problem you had to BUY a cable... so in order to use WIRELESS services on Nokia 5200 through STANDARD bluetooth connection, we have to buy a CABLE (wasn't it WIRELESS??) and use a VENDOR-SPECIFIC software (wasn't it STANDARD???)... wow... Nokia really rocks, man! :-S
I'm writing this since I had exactly the problem you had... I had 125 files in the 1giga microSD for an amount of approx 725 mega occupied on the card, and I got exactly the same message.
I "solved" the problem deleting files and getting below the "threshold" of 125 files and uploading more files... really frustrating when you've to CHOOSE between the mp3 you'll be able to listen, even if you've paid for 1giga memory and still have 1/3 of the card free...hope some buddy of Nokia will read this...

Nokia 5200, microsd problems

I tried putting my micro sd card into my nokia 5200 and when i try to ope the card it says its is not formatted. I have put it in my computer and formatted the card and it still says the same thign. Can anyone help please ??

Maybe you should try and format it from within the phone? There is a choice for that from what I know!

Problem with Nokia 5200...please help!!

my sister has a nokia 5200...it was working really well when suddenly something went wrong...everytime she inserts a memory card with something on it (doesn't happen with empty memory card) the phone goes crazy...it keeps going on and off for like 4 times or so...then it goes totally off (screen is totally black) and my sister has to turn it on herself...then it all happens again..when she gets the memory card out it goes back to normal...but we've noticed that before this happens some sign shows up at the top of the screen right next to the battery...some sign that looks like a lock....dad asked the owner of the store...he said it needs new software or something....could comeone help me?? there are no updates for her phone..and i'm not sure how to get the original software...uhm...firmware....well?? anyone had this problem?? can you help me??

ok..thanks...but you see...i don't need the update....i need the firmware...and i actually checked for updates for the phone...there aren't any

Some help please.when I plug in the supplied earphones sound still comes out of the speaker rather than the earphone,Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Nokia 5200 Problem

Hi , I had music on mine nokia 5200 for a half year
But then a problem came that one music files toke over a other music file , so i marked all , delete marked , ok
I run the program for getting music on it , Huh the music files are still there O_Õ , Mark all , delete marked , Cannot delete ,they dissapear , Refresh program , Ok there are no left , upload , Upload not allowed , Huh O_Õ

Well i swapped my phone nokia 5200 transformer edition for a regular nokia 5200, the connection point were the phone, crahrges is loose i dont know if this is the reason for the phone not charging. is there a difference in the cahrgers or what...?

Are you referring to the Nokia 5300 Transformers Edition? Regarding on your problem, the charger connector might be faulty as well as the charger. Better bring your phone to a Nokia Service Center for a quick fix for free. I suppose it's a brand new phone so they won't charge you on repairs or replacements.

Nokia 5200 with connection problems

My GF has a Nokia 5200 and sometimes disconnect from the network without advertise it, the signal bars are full and also battery but cant receive calls or sms and cant call or send sms, when want call attempt and say "connection error" and at icons area appear call icon and padlock open (like a gprs no secure connection)
When restart phone work fine, it happen suddently without a certain time, because it when we went to our phone company they no found the problem (was working well)

I recently updated my phones software version 3.93 to 4.71
but i am facing a lot of problems in this version.

BB5 Update Agent problem Nokia 5200

Hi I want to update my Nokia 5200 but everytime the software starts updating it stops I think it's because of the BB5 Update Agent it says it's connected in a non comaptible form even though I selected the Nokia Mode in my USB cable menu on my phone. plesa help me thanks.

Problem with Nokia 5200 and Flash Lite themes...

My problem is pretty simple to ask, but maybe not to easy to answer...
I downloaded many Flash Lite themes for my Nokia 5200, and my problem is that the animated icons for the grid (that are SWF files) don't show/animate.
Is it supposed to be like that?
The firmware is v5.53

Oh, I forgot this...
In Carbide.ui, the icons DO animate as they should.

Nokia 5200 problem (eeprom?)

I have nokia 5200. Its a great phone. But the last few days, the accumulator is go down, when the phone turned off. I left it. Tomorrow, when i turn on the phone, appears an text: contact service, and turned off. I restart the phone. Phone restricted text appears. I cant understand this code...
I cant use my phone with sim card, only without the sim. In the service says: the eeprom is corrupted and incorrigible, cant re-flash.
Whats the wrong in this phone? Can i repair?

Nokia 5200 handset manager

Hello,
I have just bought a nokia 5200 transfer data package with a usb cable and a cd driver.
I have installed the driver but when i start the software it dosen't manage to stay conected to the handset.
It conects for 3-4 seconds, then disconecta and starts connectinc all over again.
I have dissabled the antivirus on my PC thinking that this might be the problem, but it didn't work.
Anyone has any ideas????
