Nokia 5610 camera help ??

hi. when i used to take pictures from my mobile it didn't make that sound while taking the pic. but few weeks ago , i've plugged my mobile to the computer and the software updated to "firmware 4.81". since then , there was that camera sound going on while im taking the picture. i want to mute that sound. what do i do ? i've searched all over the mobile settings and haven't found anything related .. even changing my profile to silent didn't help.. any help please? thanks alot ..

Privacy laws in some countries make it illegal to be able to photograph people without their knowledge and consent. By not making it possible to mute the shutter release sound, Nokia is simply complying with laws.
This does depend where you are, though. Here in the UK I can mute my N95's shutter release no problem, although I haven't yet upgraded to the latest firmware version.

Immediately, after you start the camera? That is a hardware not a software fault, you phone got broken. You can double-check yourself with the Nokia Software Recovery Tool on a Windows computer. That tool rules-out all configuration and software issue. What is left, are hardware issues.

Nokia 5610 Secondary Camera

I have a Nokia 5610.
Just wondering whether will i be able to take still pictures with the secondary camera in Nokia 5610?

Your question is not clear, but if you want to use the front camera.. Goto Camera.. options.. and you may find something like 'Use Secondary Camera'.. select it.

HELP ! NOKIA N8 CAMERA FLASH WONT WORK

My three month old Nokia N8 camera flash wont owrk under any light conditions, you can switch it on manually, leave it on auto..... doesnt matter it wont flash.
Anyone else found the same problem? any solutuions?

Nokia 808 camera lens not working - help

Hi, my Nokia 808 camera shutter is not opening or closing. It is stuck in a half opened state. M is there anything I can do, before sending in for repairs, to try and reset the shutter? I can't take any photos as they end up over exposed! Thanks

If it's mechanical shutter has failed you have no choice other than to return your 808 to Nokia Care facility for repair!

Nokia 5610 help!!!

i have a nokia 5610 and i have two question:
1) above the screen, there are two things, one of them is the camera , what is the other thing and what does it do?
2) behind the slider, ( the on that goes to music player and radio ) , there is a light that keeps flashing, there is no missed call or anything that would cause it to flash. It doesn't flash all the time, from time to time it starts to work. why does it flash?
3) is there anyway that i can make the flash of the camera to work as a flash light?

three questions perhaps?
1. It's the light sensor. - it optimizes the screen ligth due to the light around you.
2. I am pretty sure this is the breathing light. How ever I am not sure how to turn it off - as my little brother had it a short time - a long time ago I googled it, and it seems like you can follow these steps: just go to setting>lights>lights effects on/off

Nokia 5610 Slide button repair help

The slide button on my Nokia 5610 express music has cracked and fallen of. I was wondering if any one had managed to successfully repair the button themselves.

The 24 month warranty should cover its repair free of charge. Just take it to a Nokia Care centre near you with the proof of purchase.
I took my daughter's 5610 for the slider button to be repaired today and they fixed it the same day under the warranty! Also, since the 5610 was only launched in the UK in Q4 2007, they didn't even ask to see the proof of purchase in my case probably as it's obviously less than 24 months since launch.
Of course it probably helped that it clearly looked well cared for other than the missing slider.

No it cannot. There are no known viruses that can infect series 40 models like the 5610. This is because it's a closed operating system.
The memory card of the phone can carry windows based viruses if it's been used with an infected computer. These viruses cannot infect the phone.
If you are having a problem with your phone it is being caused by something else.

Nokia 5610 & AD54

i use ad56 for my nokia 5610 but remote control is necessary for me ! does nokia 5610 work with HS-45 and AD-54 ?? help please

I've used HS-44 (came with my 5700) and HS-45 (came with my 5610). There was only 1 difference that in former's case, outside sounds get muted because there are rubber **bleep** with ear buds while in later's case, they are shaped like normal ear buds only.
I've also used AD-44 (came with my 5700, has all playback control buttons) as well as AD-56 (has only 1 button, actually I've not used this remote even once). I successfully (and indeed very effectively) have used AD44 with my 5610. I'll recommend you also use AD-44 as remote and use any headset or headphone with it. Even those head phones which we use with computers.
As far as AD-54 is concerned, there is (perhaps) only 1 difference, and that is that it has 3.5 mm jack while AD-44 has 2.5 mm jack with it.

Nokia 5610 XM MicroSD Card formatted in pc not wor...

Hi, My 1GB Nokia Micro SD memory card, that came along with Nokia 5610 XM, was corrupted and had no way to fix/remedy/avert the situation unless format the memory. I wasn't able to check if there was indeed a format option in my phone before formatting the microSD memory card via my computer. I formatted the Micro SD in FAT format and had it checked if my phone can detect it, but it read as "Media Player Sync Files" and it was only a folder and not as a memory icon. I also did FAT32 conversion and result was the same.I checked for format options in my phone but there was none.
I searched the internet for answers or clues as to how can I fix the problem and make my phone function back to normal with its memory card, to no avail I found no answers including here. A forum mentioned that I needed to recover back a file from Nokia that will allow the unit to read the memory card. I don't know what that is.
I hope there will be any "detailed help" provided from anyone who knows how to deal with the issue. Thank you.

I found the solution the same day I was having been bothered by it. I happen to have formatted the memory card via a card reader thru my pc. My mobile phone detected it as "Media Player Sync files" and it has 0kb even when it is refilled with mp3s. There isn't any problem with the memory card, but the problem was I did not include a name on the Volume Label found during formatting the memory card.
I reinserted the memory card into my card reader and had it formatted, this time with a Volume Label "Memory Card" (compression is FAT, I heard FAT32 is also okay), then I had the mobile phone read the memory card and was able to detect it as "MEMORY CARD" and used its formatting function to formally format the memory card in Nokia's legal grounds. It is now back to normal.

Nokia 5610 screen - total malfunction !

I just dont know how this came about. It did fall from my computer table a couple of times but that has happened to all the other phones i've owned so far. Now my nokia 5610's screen switches between rainbow-colored , negative colored , and the normal color randomly! I've restarted the phone a zillion times and its pure luck if the normal colors pop out - even if that happens, it may go back to negative or rainbow-colored any second! I've never experienced such problems with any other gadget. And the thing that surprises me is the fact that i bought the nokia 5610 hardly a month ago from a verified dealer first hand!
Any help in the matter would be greatly appreciated !

I think it is a common problem with the N5610 - as it exactly the same that happened with mine. The screen flickered when top slided.
I sent it to the Nokia Care Centre and they had to replace the LCD - since they said that the LCD connectors worn out. So for the new one they had to extend the LCD connector so it would not likely happen again in the future.

It happens when you take the backcover off the phone, because if u look closely at the underside of the back cover, you will see that the metal framing around the camera and flash also acts as a connector for the MMC completing the circuit - there is a connector on the camera side and another on the flash side. So if you take the backcover off the phone while in use, you actually disconnect the memory card by breaking the circuit and thus any ringtones or wallpapers that you have set from the memory card goes back to default. Nokia 5610 with dead(?) screen

Hey guys I seem to have a problem!
I was uploading some mp3 to my newly bought Nokia 5610,
I got it 3 weeks ago. I installed the latest software etc etc. Now here we go: I was uploading the mp3's and at some point I had to go to college, and I thought it be alright if I just left my phone on the desk so it could upload the songs while I was gone, and it'd be done by the time I would get back.
Then I thought that maby the battery would be empty soon if it was uploading all the time, so I got my charger, and I plugged it in the mobile... and then suddenly the screen went black. I was like... euh? O.o what was that.
So I start looking at what could be wrong (no i didnt open the device exept of taking out the SIM card and battery and back in again so my warrenty is still intact) Its pretty weird, the screen is black, but when I put it 'on' it vibrates 1 time as normal, I see black letters "Nokia" apear on a dark grey screen. And then nothing happends. The only thing noticable is that the screen goes from total black to dark grey for 2 seconds, it does this 3 times and then it stays black. And then I can push 'on' again and the exact same happends again.
So I thought, maby the battery went dead? I put in the charger again, and this time it kept on going from black to grey untill I unplug the charger. Also when I connect the USB to my computer, the pc finds the 'new device' and then immediatly it disconnects again. This happends everytime the 'cycle' starts again (going black to grey 3 times and then black). So it seems like it is going On, and then after the screen goes black for the last time it is turned Off again.
Its the only thing I see, nothing apears on the screen exept "nokia' (in a weird place aswell, at the middle-bottom instead of the middle where it normally apears).
I'm bashed... I bought this mobile 3 weeks ago, never dropped it or anything. Nothing seems to be damaged either, from the outside at least.
It was all fine untill this morning. Now im not sure wether it was because of uploading the mp3's, or because I plugged in the charger, or combination of either.
Again its about the Nokia 5610 Xpress Music, Has anyone encountered this problem or has suggestions? Else I'm afraid I will just have to get it back to a repair center in Amsterdam (after I told al my friends my new number and said that they could delete my old 1 :/)

Well mate, the only experience i have with this phone (I have the same as yours) is that you should bring it back to a nokia care centre (for locations see posts above) and tell them what the problem is, then they should update/flash the software. In the worst case they will send it to external repairs, which will cost a few weeks (2-4). That is what is happening to my mobile as I'm typing...
Just ask them if they cant do it right in the store, they should be able to. Try to avoid that it is send to external repair as that will cost alot of time. It will help you to understand if you read the a/discussions/board/message?board.id=phones&message.id=34235
