Not executing a line when debugging

Hi,
In Visual studio you can pull the cursor over a line so that it is not executed. Is there any way you can do this in Netbeans 6.5?
int I = 0;
I++
return I;
Lets say I am trying to jump the I++ line when debugging, how would I do that so that I would return 0.
Thanks

I'm not familiar with Netbeans, but in Eclipse, there is a 'step over' icon in debug mode that allows you to step over the statement or functtion rather than step into it (even through you step over it, it is still executed). I imagine Netbeans debugger does a similiar thing. I dont think any debugger will skip over a line with out executing it.

  • SubVI not executable error only when opening another VI in same instance of LabView

    I have a VI (ill refer to as "A")that I have written for some of my components of my system, one of them being a loop that polls a pump controller to pick up the data (pressure, volume, etc.) coming from the pump.  Now I have been able to get a VI (Ill refer to as "B")from that manufacturer that allows me to not only get the data, but write a command to my pump controller to control my pumps from labview.  So, my goal was to just open both VI's (A and B), "copy and paste" (from B to A)so to speak, so that I could have controls incorporated into my existing VI (A) that has the controls for the rest of my components.  However, when i open both VIs in the same instance of labview, i always get errors from the second VI that i open.  Keep in mind that when running just one VI in an instance of labview, it gives me no errors.  The furthest ive gotten was to open my "B" VI first, then open my "A" VI, in which the "A" VI only gives me "not an executable error"  After investigating the source of the error, it says that it's coming from the loop inside my "A" VI of which polls my pump controller to get the data.  So basically what im thinking is that the programming thinks that one VI is coming up with the data, and one is controlling it, so it gets confused as to whats actually going on.
    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I can attach some of the VIs if need, figured Id try to get some ideas first as to maybe what is going on...
    Thanks in advance!
    Matt

    What errors?  Do they have an error number?  Do they have a description?
    Since you said communication, I'm going to assume that it is serial communication and is using VISA drivers.
    It is very likely the two VI's are stepping on each other's communication while they are trying to communicate with the pump.
    Why don't you post the two VI's so we can see what you are doing?

  • Data Merge - Not removing blank lines when more than one in a row

    I am having the same problem as mentioned here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2109531#2109531  That post is for some reason set as "answered" though the poster said the latest update did not resolve the issue.  Has anyone found a solution to this issue?
    Thanks much,

    I"d suggest you try running the merge WITHOUT removing blank lines, then use  GREP to remove empty paragraphs. There's a pre-written saved query in the list.

  • Silverlight 5 binding on a property with logic in its setter does not work as expected when debug is attached

    My problem is pretty easy to reproduce.
    I created a project from scratch with a view model.
    As you can see in the setter of "Age" property I have a simple logic.
        public class MainViewModel : INotifyPropertyChanged
                public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged;
                private int age;
                public int Age
                    get
                        return age;
                    set
                        /*Age has to be over 18* - a simple condition in the setter*/
                        age = value;
                        if(age <= 18)
                            age = 18;
                        OnPropertyChanged("Age");
                public MainViewModel(int age)
                    this.Age = age;
                private void OnPropertyChanged(string propertyName)
                    if (this.PropertyChanged != null)
                        PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
    In the MainPage.xaml
         <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White">
                <TextBox
                    Text="{Binding Path=Age, Mode=TwoWay}"
                    HorizontalAlignment="Left"
                    Width="100"
                    Height="25"/>
                <TextBlock
                    Text="{Binding Path=Age, Mode=OneWay}"
                    HorizontalAlignment="Right"
                    Width="100"
                    Height="25"/>
            </Grid>
    And MainPage.xaml.cs I simply instantiate the view model and set it as a DataContext.
        public partial class MainPage : UserControl
            private MainViewModel mvm;
            public MainPage()
                InitializeComponent();
                mvm = new MainViewModel(20);
                this.DataContext = mvm;
    I expect that this code will limit set the Age to 18 if the value entered in the TextBox is lower than 18.
    Scenario: Insert into TextBox the value "5" and press tab (for the binding the take effect, TextBox needs to lose the focus)
    Case 1: Debugger is attached =>
    TextBox value will be "5" and TextBlock value will be "18" as expected. - WRONG
    Case 2: Debugger is NOT attached =>
    TextBox value will be "18" and TextBlock value will be "18" - CORRECT
    It seems that when debugger is attached the binding does not work as expected on the object that triggered the update of the property value. This happens only if the property to which we are binding has some logic into the setter or getter.
    Has something changed in SL5 and logic in setters is not allowed anymore?
    Configuration:
    VisualStudio 2010 SP1
    SL 5 Tools 5.1.30214.0
    SL5 sdk 5.0.61118.0
    IE 10
    Thanks!

    Inputting the value and changing it straight away is relatively rare.
    Very few people are now using Silverlight because it's kind of deprecated...
    This is why nobody has reported this.
    I certainly never noticed this problem and I have a number of live Silverlight systems out there.
    Some of which are huge.
    If you want a "fix":
    private void OnPropertyChanged(string propertyName)
    if (this.PropertyChanged != null)
    //PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
    Storyboard sb = new Storyboard();
    sb.Duration = new Duration(new TimeSpan(0, 0, 0, 0, 100));
    sb.Completed += delegate
    PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
    sb.Begin();
    The fact this works is interesting because (I think ) it means the textbox can't be updated at the point the propertychanged is raised.

  • Timemachine does not show time line when choosing 'Enter time machine'

    Hi all,
    I have been using TM with my Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server without any problems until today. TM still does the backups OK, but when I select 'Enter time machine' the user interface does not get deployed fully. I will show the Finder window in the middle of the screen, but the timeline does not appear. Not happens next; the underlaying desktop stays visible. When I close the window by clicking the red button I see briefly flash a part of the TM bar at the bottom of the screen and then it returns to normal desktop use.
    Does anybody know why TM will not start the restore interface and how I can get it fixed?
    Thanks a bunch for any replies.

  • Offset feature not creating clean lines when repeating pattern/image

    Using PSE11, I have been working at several repeating patterns using the offset feature, but am having a problem with images not having a clean seam when connecting different layers to create the pattern.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks.
    Here's a screenshot of an example..

    Again, how you feel is really of no interest at all. How you feel will not get you one whit closer to solving the problem you have, and will probably even get in the way.  If you have a problem we can help. Any scolding I do is about your aggression. Think of it this way. If someone stops you in the street and politely asks the way to the train station you'll be a lot more likely to help him or her than a person swearing at how awful the street maps are and generally being aggressive.
    Obviously you don't get the fundamental difference, or you wouldn't have the problem. And yes, your photos can remain exactly as you organised them, but if that's what you wanted why did you then use iPhoto? You used the file manager for this job on windows, now you're trying to use a database for the job on your Mac. So you've switched OS and then the method of managing your photos.
    Now you need to decide. Do you want to work exactly as you did on Windows? If so, don't use iPhoto, just use the Finder (that's the file manager on the Mac.) That's what you did on Windows.
    If you want to use iPhoto, and so take advantage of the extra features that it has, then you'll need to rethink your way of working just a little but we can get very close to what you have now. But it will not be identical.
    If you don't want to use iPhoto just copy your folders of images over to the Mac. Job done. Otherwise, come back and let us know how your folders are arranged and we can try help you adapt that to iPhoto.

  • ORA-24338: statement handle not executed

    Hi,
    My front end programming platform is .NET. Oracle DataBase is 10g.
    I have written this package:
    CREATE OR REPLACE package body USER_NAME.PACKAGE_TEST1 as
    procedure getname(id1 number,tb_cursor out md_cursor)
    as
    begin
    open tb_cursor for select name from testtable1 where id1=id;
    close tb_cursor;
    end getname;
    end package_test1;In the front end i am using DataReader to fetch data.
    But while Executing reader an error occurs that is "ORA-24338: statement handle not executed".
    But when i remove "close tb_cursor" programm runs successfully.
    What is the reason for that error ?

    A ref cursor is nothing more than a pointer to a statement (query).
    So no, you do not want to make 1000 procedure calls. You want your ref cursor to be opened for a query that contains 1000 rows. The client calls your procedure ONE TIME and processes the entirety of the ref cursor (1000 rows), then closes the cursor that your procedure so graciously opened for them.But according to .NET(my front end platform) documentation DataReader fetches data from database row by row .each row at a time.That means when the procedure was first called REF CURSOR was opened and was open till all data are fetched.Means at the begining itself query was executed and all data was fetched and stored temporarily in the database, and then DataReader fetched those data row by row..i.e., after first call to procedure only fetching of data is done. NO opening,NO closing ,NO select query execution (that was referenced by REf CURSOR). And when all rows are fetched that open cursor is closed . Is my concept right here ?YOU opened the cursor (in your procedure).
    The select query execution IS the ref cursor being processed by your DataReader.
    The data is not temporarily stored in the database ... it persists there (unless someone deletes it) ... so that statement wasn't really correct. DataReader would just be reading the rows from the database (via the ref cursor)
    I would assume DataReader will close the cursor for you, but i really don't know ... you'd have to ask a .not person about that.

    11.2.1 Creating Java Stored Procedures
    To create a stored procedure, perform the following:
    1.
    Create the class that you want to store in Oracle Database Lite. You can use any Java IDE to write the procedure, or you can simply reuse an existing procedure that meets your needs.
    When creating the class, consider the following restrictions on calling Java stored procedures from SQL DML statements:
    When called from an INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE statement, the method cannot query or modify any database tables modified by that statement.
    When called from a SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE statement, the method cannot execute SQL transaction control statements, such as COMMIT or ROLLBACK.
    Note:
    Any SQL statement in a stored procedure that violates a restriction produces an error at run time.
    2.
    Provide your class with a unique name for its deployment environment, since only one Java Virtual Machine is loaded for each Oracle Database Lite application. If the application executes methods from multiple databases, then the Java classes from these databases are loaded into the same Java Virtual Machine. We recommend that you prefix the Java class name with the database name to ensure that the Java class names are unique across multiple databases.
    3.
    If you are executing any DML statements in your Java stored procedure, then—in order for these statements to exist within the same transaction—you must pass an argument of type java.sql.Connection as the first argument in the method. You must have the Connection object in order to prepare and execute any statements. Oracle Database Lite supplies the appropriate argument value of the Oracle Lite database Connection object for you; the application executing the method does not need to provide a value for this parameter.

  • When debugging, a for loop is not entered even though the number 6 is passed to "N".

    I cannot figure out why a for loop is not entered when I debug it. When debugging a value of 6 is clearly passed to "N", the number of iterations the loop is supposed to execute. So when I debug, execution highlighting just parses right over the loop, even though I request to enter the loop. Everything inside of the loop is not executed. Have you experienced this before? - Any ideas?

    As mentioned by "eh" auto-indexed arrays that are empty will cause this.
    A "FOR loop" will itereate as many times as is indicated by the smallest number elements in any of its auto-indexed inputs.
    When you watch it in execution-highlighting, you probably will see a "0" coming in on an auto-indexed input.

  • I recieve the following error when running an executable ("This VI is not Executable. The full development version of Labview is required to fix the errors"

    I recieve the following error when trying to build and run a labview executable. I am able to build the executable but when trying to run the executable, a pop up window comes up asking the user to select a dll. (please see screen shot attached). Once the DLL is selected, I get the error that This VI is not Executable. The full development version of Labview is required to fix the errors. (please see screen shot attached). I have also attached a snapshot of the project window.
    I have the professional development system
    I can run the main VI
    all the required DLL's are in the dependencies section of the project window.
    I am trying to find the root cause of this error but to no avail. can anyone give me a clue to what i am missing here. Any suggestions on where i should look to find the problem ?
    Thanks in advance to all labview users for your help

  • I get a "vi is not executable" error when building an application.

    I have an ongoing project that has worked fine in the past when building an application. I have recently added some report generation toolkit vis(Excel) and get an error for some of the ni vis and some of my own that call lower level excel vis. The error is that he vi is not executable, however they run fine in the development environment. I do not get this error if I save all vi's into one llb with save with options command and then build. However, when I try to run the app, this error re-appears. Also, do I have to add the dynamically loaded vi's that are part of the toolkit in my build script? Could this be the cause of the problem? If so, what's the best way to find all of them? Any suggestions?

    You have hit in on the nail! You do need to add the dynamically loaded VIs when you are creating an executable from your VI. You need to add _wordsub.lib and _exclsub.lib as dynamically loaded VIs into your executable. Try this and let us know if you have any more problems with it.

  • How do I execute some code when a line of a table control is selected?

    Hi,
    I would like to execute some code when a line of a table control is selected.  At the moment I have to select one or multiple rows and then press enter, this forces a screen refresh and my code is executed but I would like the code to be executed as soon as any line is selected.
    I've done something like this using ALV grids and object orientated code but is there a way of doing this in a normal non-OO table control?
    Thanks in advance.
    Gill

    Hi,
    U need to declare a char1 field for marking (mark field).  This will reflect with value 'X' in your tcontrol internal table for all the selected rows.
    Now u need to handle the okcode for enter in your PAI.
    There u need to loop through the table for all marked fields.
    There after u can do what ever u want.
    Venkat.

  • My 27" iMac displays vertical green lines when turned on and then will not boot up

    Can anyone tell me why my 27" iMac displays vertical green lines when it is turned on and then will not boot up?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    The display or graphic card are damaged. The only thing you can do is to take your computer to an Apple Store or reseller to get your computer repaired.
    If you use an external display with your Mac, connect it to your computer and see if these lines appear on the external display. If so, it's a graphic card problem

    Okay here is where I am at so far and thanks for sticking with me, we may have success eventually! Can you confirm the following:
    1--I Go into the iMac Address Book and click on File/Export/Address Book Archive.
    2--It then asks me where I want to save Address Book and I indicate Desktop.
    3--I then assume I somehow transfer this Desktop file to the iBook--can I just copy the file, email it to the iBook, and paste it into the iBook Desktop?
    Yes
    4--If I'm accurate so far, I then do the same with the iBook Archive and save it
    to the iBook Desktop.
    Yes
    5--NOW I open the iMac archive that is on the iBook desktop and it will ask me if I want to overwrite the existing iBook address book and I indicate Yes and it will then place the iMac address book on the iBook.
    Yes
    6--When and if I want to put the iBook address book back into the iBook I click on the file that is on the iBook Desktop and proceed to put the 'old' iBook address book back in.
    That's it.
    If I am correct on this, another question arises--does this method transfer every email address I use as I notice in Address Book under 'All Contacts' there are some that are missing. I may not have manually added each and every address to my Address Book so maybe that is why some are missing and may not show up in this transfer of Archives? Thanks for your patience Barney.
    That's what I would assume. Like I said, the Archive is really just a copy of the AddressBook folder which contains everything related to Address Book and Mail's previous recipients.
    Now, the Address Book contacts and Mail's previous recipients are different entities--they just share the same storage location. So, if that is what you mean by there are some missing, they should still auto-complete in Mail since the previous recipients also is used for auto-complete.
