Since swing is not thread safe the table is updated in a swing worker thread. This should ensure that all gui updates are scheduled in the main event dispatching thread. Following is that code :-
SwingWorker sw = new SwingWorker() {
public Object construct()
try{
_myTable.updateUI();
return null;
}catch(Exception e){
return null;
public void finished(){
sw.start();
Inspite of doing these i am getting these exceptions.

try using javax.swing.SwingUtilities.invokeLater(Runnable doRun)

  • Creator Freeze Often -- SWING Worker thread also

    I'm developping an app with creator. And I have many freezes in several minutes long as some people mentioned before.
    I'm running win XP on an opeteron 244(1.8G) x2 , with 2G memory. I've updated creator to the latest updates, but it doesn't seem to be better.
    The things I found is that when I edit Session Bean , Creator takes especially long time to come up.
    At that time, SWING worker thread of Creator IDE also stopping, No update of display , I only look window frame.
    You know the SWING has a Single thread model ,so if some logic uses SWING worker's thread long time, all displying process will be stopped.
    Below is the stacktrace just after a few seconds when Creator freeze by editing Session Bean.
    I use the stacktrace tool at http://tmitevski.users.mcs2.netarray.com/trace.do

  • UPDATE statement not working when updating Z table

    Hi
    I have declared Ztable with fields MANDT, VKORG, VBELN, IDENTCODE and POSNR as key fields, other fields are FKDAT,KUNNR, NETWR, WAERK, SKFBP
    First I got the data from presentation server and moved into internal table 'A' and after that declared internal table with structure same as Z table and moving the data from presentation server internal table 'A' into this.
    After Endloop I am using statement
          UPDATE ZVS_INV FROM TABLE IT_INV.
         commit work.
    But  table is not getting updated and sy-subrc is returning to 4.
    What could be the reason...your help appreciated.

    howcan it make difference if the primary key is defined as per my business requirement
    Just because the business requirement 'says so', doesn't mean that's it's right.  You appear to be maintaining a Z-table with a subset of billing fields and appear to have 'over-specified' the primary key.
    As far as the help files, if you did look at them, I don't think you took the time to understand before just posting your problem here.  An UPDATE operation is a very simple operation.  You gave the answer to why it didn't work in your comments as Keshav already pointed out...

  • URGENT: ADF Faces table updating issue.

    I have a project that uses JSF, ADF Faces, EJB 3.0, and the ADF binding framework.
    In this project, I have a page with a databound ADF Faces Table. The table has a number of read-only columns and two read-write columns. I also have an Edit button that allows the user to pop up a dialog box to edit the selected row of the table. When the user clicks OK in the dialog box, the data is passed back to the main page and the table is updated.
    Everything works correctly for the read-only columns. For the read-write columns, however, the table data does not get updated following an edit. This is what I have found:
    1. The table row data gets passed in to the Edit dialog correctly.
    2. The data gets passed back correctly.
    3. The model gets updated correctly (up to and including the database).
    4. Looking at the iterator in the debugger shows the correct, updated data.
    5. When the table row is getting redrawn, the getter calls for the read-write columns return the updated data.
    6. As mentioned above, the read-only columns get updated correctly.
    7. Updating the read-write columns directly from the table works correctly.
    So, the problem appears to be in the GUI layer. I suspect that, somehow, the submitted values of the read-write columns are not getting set properly, but I cannot figure out how to do this.
    Note that clicking on the Edit button results in a partial submit. In the return listener, I add a call to AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(getRecipientTable()) in order to redraw the table (getRecipientTable() is the bound value of the ADF table).
    Please help! We are so close to production and we need to fix this.
    Thanks,
    Ara

    Hi,
    I don't have a testcase for this, so I just come up with ideas to try
    1. refresh the parent container of the table. It seems that the input text components are not triggered to refresh if the refresh is on the table.
    2. If using ADF, make sure the update is performed directly on theiterator (which automatically is the case if you use a ADF bound form for this)
    3. Check if executing the table iterator and then setting back the current row makes a difference

  • RAISING AN EVENT WHEN DATABASE TABLE UPDATES

    hi all,
             i want to raise an event when database table updates.For eg : if a price of a material has been changed then i have to raise an event and run the abap program in back ground.i know transaction SM62 to create event, i dont know about transaction SM64. please give me the procedure how to solve this problem. i dont know work flow. please give me a sample code how to raise event.
    thanka and regards
    suresh

    Hi Suresh
    It is important to understand that the SAP architecture abstracts the database from the application.
    I think that you should look for ways that the application triggers an event when an update has taken place, rather than the DB.
    Two ways of doing this that spring to mind are change pointers (for the ALE interface, see menu SALE) and Business Transaction Events (various things including CRM integration, see menu FIBF).
    The latter works very well for sending prices to CRM when they change. I am more familiar with this than ALE so I will discuss it.
    If you go to menu FIBF and then follow menu path Environment -> Info System (P/S), and then run the report for event 00503301, you can find documentation and a sample function module that you can copy.
    Once you register your new function module in the event tables then it will be called when prices are changed.
    Cheers

  • BCALV_EDIT_03 - Need the table update function

    I am fairly new to OO programming and have worked through the various sample programs. I am currently using BCALV_EDIT_03 and _04 to write a table maintenance program.
    I kind of have figured out how the delete and insert function works but unfortunately in sample program _03 the final table update function is missing.
    What I am after is that I get all the changed records from the grid and update the external table just with those records.
    Could somebody post some sample update code that I could check out?
    Thanks in advance.
    Gerd

    Table update as in, database table update or ALV table update ?
    ALV Table update will be done automatically, in case you have used the method : set_table_for_first_display
    As you also quote that you are checking out BCALV_<b>EDIT</b>_03, I will just clarify this point, all changes made to the table are triggered by the EVENT DATA_CHANGED and this event has the necessary fields, from which you can come to know which rows and what values have changed. You need to use this DATA_CHANGED event and update your internal table. This is then shown in SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY in PBO.
    In case you are talking about database update and if it is a custom table, then you have to use the direct update.
    In case it is a SAP table, you might let us know which table it is, and probably some of the experts here can let you know the Function Module, BAPI or any method of a class to use.
    In case you need a good tutorial help, you can find it in Serdar Simsekler's
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/an easy reference for alv grid control.pdf
    Let me know if I am way tangent here or I could be of help to you.

  • SQL UPDATE does not work

    Hey Guys,
    I have an update sql query which does not work with PreparedStatement object. Heres the code snippet:
    PreparedStatement pstmt;
    int numUpd;
    pstmt = con.prepareStatement(
    "UPDATE item_articles SET dataFile=? WHERE itemID=?");
    con.setAutoCommit(false);
    pstmt.setBinaryStream(1,fis,(int)file.length());
    pstmt.setInt(2,item.id);
    numUpd = pstmt.executeUpdate();
    con.commit();
    What I am doing here is that setBinaryStream(...) will upload a file into the DB. The query executes, theres no exception thrown, but my table shows empty field for the file. Note, there are no exceptions thrown from this query.
    If I do the same thing for an INSERT statement, it works. The file gets into the DB. So , the file is there on disk, and theres no problem with it. Just that it does not work with UPDATE.....any clues ???
    thanks
    Askar

    I think UPDATE commands dont work well with blobs.
    I use to select the register with a ResultSet, then get a BLOB Object from the column.
    So you can use a OutputStream to Upload your data.

  • Table update error

    Hi All,
    I created a ZTABLE ... and created a Table maintainance generator and also lock objects.
    In portal they imported RFC structure for the table and it worked fine.
    now i added a new field ( Non-Primary)  in the table. in ECC its working fine.
    But in Portal when I re-import the structure with updated value, i am able to see new field in my model, but when i try to deploy project i am getting error like field the structure not found.
    any idea guys?
    then i created a new ztable with above field included with out table maintainance generator and lock objects, then its working fine again.
    is there anything i can update in ZTABLE for this or in Portal?
    Regards
    Giri

    As you created a new field and records with that new field, u must activate & adjust the data base.
    Tell ur basis guy the table name and ask them 2 do it.
    So all records will be adjusted with the new tabel size.
    You may want to know the path:
    In SE11->table Name-> Utilities-->Database Utility.
    There you will find that option.
    Hope this can clear.
    I solved my problem the same way earlier.
    And also regenerate the table maintenance generator again.
    It shud be fine
    Thanks

  • Table update visible only when changing table selection

    I'm running java 1.6.0_07 on Linux and I'm experiencing a strange problem: I've got a table model that extends AbstractTableModel and when I selectes a row and then change such row data (thru the setData() and fireTableDataChanged() methods) I don't see the row update. If I reclick on the row or select another row in the table, the table refreshes and I can see the row updated. Is it a problem of the Java version or what? Should I change my code and force a table update in any way? Any suggestion?
    Thanks,
    Luca

    I've got a table model that extends AbstractTableModel Why? Whats wrong with the DefaultTableModel?
    Is it a problem of the Java version or what?So you've written custom code and it doesn't work so the problem must be with the Java version?
    Any suggestion?Use the DefaultTableModel.
    If you need further help then you need to create a [Short, Self Contained, Compilable and Executable, Example Program (SSCCE)|http://homepage1.nifty.com/algafield/sscce.html], that demonstrates the incorrect behaviour.
    Don't forget to use the Code Formatting Tags so the posted code retains its original formatting. That is done by selecting the code and then clicking on the "Code" button above the question input area.

  • Table Update using Nolog/Hint

    Hi all
    Although we can insert records using /nolog so that they are not added into archive logs.
    We required using this for table update for some large routene updates which in any way does not effect the integrity of the database.
    This table updation facility using /nolog was not available in earlier versions.
    Alternate solution for temporarily turning the database into Noarchivelog ->Fire update statement ->Turn database into archivelog mode is not acceptable as the database is production database where certain users are always on with their routene small entry/updation jobs.
    I want to know whether this has been enhanced in Oracle 10g or is there any work around by way of giving some hints at the update statement. As large table updation generating too much archive logs are not really desired in certain cases.
    Suresh Bansal

    Mr. Sayed
    Thanks for reply. Insert idea is given just for the available workaround when required and to link this to the subject of discussion. Idea is when Oracle has provided some workaround for Inserting records without loging , why they have not provide so for update.
    Pl. advise some workaround for the large update problem.
    In Oracle 10g, the default is 'database force logging'. Hence, even nologging transaction, oracle will force to create logging.I would request you to elaborate this. We installed Oracle 10g at one site and the database runs in Noarchive log which is default installation in Windows 2003 server. I could not understand what you mean by default 'database force logging'

  • How do I know if my update didn't work because the record doesn't exist

    I am updating a row in a table and I want to know if the update didn't work because the record doesn't exist. Is there any way of knowing this? I want to avoid doing a select first if at all possible. I am using sqlj with Oracle 9i on Linux and JDK 1.3.1.

    I got it. So if anybody else needs to know this here it is.
    import sqlj.runtime.ExecutionContext;
    ExecutionContext ec = new ExecutionContext();
    #sql [ec] {update statement};
    if (ec.getUpdateCount() == 0){
    throw new SQLException("No rows for update");
