NullPointerException while setting response object encoding.

I am getting Null Pointer Exception at line "esponse.setCharacterEncoding(encoding);", here the encoding value i am getting is "UTF-8". The same code works fine in other webservers like websphere/tomcat. Please let me know is there any specific setting or i need to set the encoding in different way in weblogic. • Problem while setting response header in a filter

    Hi,
    I am intercepting response in a filter and trying to modify the response header, so that my subsequent class would get the header in request .
    Somehow i don't get the header in request. I don't know whats going wrong.
    I have few more filters other than the one in which i m modifying the response header.
    I change the response header before calling doFilter() method.
    Where am i going wrong ?

    The subsequent servlets and filters will get the same request that the first filter has. The passing to the next servlet is via a method call.

  • Error while saving for Objective setting

    Hi,
    While saving the Objective setting templates i am getting the error as "Table HRPAD605 is not part of the Customizing object PDST T "
    <u>Error documentation is as follows</u>
    <b>Diagnosis</b>
    Entries in table HRPAD605 cannot be edited in connection with customizing object PDST      T as table HRPAD605 does not belong to customizing object PDST      T, according to the object definition.
    <b>System Response</b>
    The function terminates.
    <b>Procedure</b>
    Check whether the entered objects and keys are correct.Then check in the Implementation Guide whether the object was created correctly.
    Correct the object definition or the entry for the Transport Organizer interface.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    Most likely the is an inconsistency with the transport objects PDST and PDWS. Please run RHSOBJCH to correct this inconsistency.
    Afterwards you should be able to transport the templates via the catalog or via RHMOVE30. Please make sure that the category ID in the target system is the same otherwise you won't be able to locate the template.
    The report RHSOBJCH corrects the missing HR entries in the OBJS table.
    This step you need to perform only once. For OSA you need to overtake
    *5020 up to *5026, also PAD605,606 and 607 references.
    When you have done this (as said, only need to do it once) you can transport the categories and templates via the phap_catalog_pa transaction (righ-mouse click on the to be transported object).
    Hope this helps,
    Regards and Groetjes,
    Maurice

  • Unable to view settings tab in one GPO. "An error occurred while generating report: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

    I am the owner of this GPO and I can view the settings tab in any other GPO. But, I get the following message when I try to view the settings tab in one particular GPO:
    An error occurred while generating report:
    Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
    Other posts I look at reference the same error, but with different circumstances, and thus, they specify that the hotfix is for to fix the error under
    those circumstances.
    I'm accessing GPMC on a Win 7 SP1 machine. DC is Server 2012 Standard.

    You can filter ADM templates to show configured ones only, and you can
    use the "show all settings" node. This will speed the work up - a little
    bit at least :)

  • GPM Custom GPO-Settings: An error occurred while generating report: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    Hello,
    As you can tell from the title of this question, I am no expert with GPO's.  Before I begin, I spent a few minutes to an hour searching and reading in hopes of finding the solution and avoid putting myself out there as a "GPO Newb".  While
    I found several posts and answers that were similar and were related, the questions and answers were more advanced and did present the solutions providing the person had initial knowledge already.  That is not necessarily my case and I would ask for a
    little patience and a bit of 'hand-holding' for what I need.
    I run SBS 2011, and in Group Policy Management I have a custom GPO.  In this GPO I define all my settings.  I understand this may not be the best or most practical method of applying policies, but I am not very strict and have few settings.  This
    policy existed prior to my joining the company, and was migrated in to this SBS '11 from SBS '03.  That may be the issue, but before making any changes I am seeking expert advice.
    When I select that GPO, named "Main GPO", and click on the tab at the top "Settings" I see the error: "An error occurred while generating report: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
    I saw that when I right click the GPO > View > Options and select the tab "Reporting" that it states that for reporting to work the location of the .adm files must be specified.  I see that my option for the location is set to "Default"
    which by my guessing would be located in the C:\Windows\sysvol directory.  Below is what I see there:
    C:\Windows\sysvol\domain
    C:\Windows\sysvol\staging
    C:\Windows\sysvol\staging areas
    C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol
    I think the problem is that my custom GPO are not inside the default location, which I speculate is: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies (which I do see some objects there).
    But instead I also see items in this folder: C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol\JOHN.LOCAL\policies (while where I just typed 'JOHN.LOCAL' is my actual local domain).
    To further this, when I edit that custom GPO, then at the very top of the tree I right click on it and select Properties, I see a Unique Name listed there as a long string of numbers and letters, similar to a registry entry.  I searched my server for
    that same Unique Name and found it listed inside the folder: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies
    If I am correct with my assumption and basic knowledge, I should move all objects as follows:
    -Move FROM: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies
    -Move TO: C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol\JOHN.LOCAL\policies
    My concerns are that I am not correct at all, that I will break something, that there may be an easier fix than moving anything, or that I am overlooking something causing this error altogether.
    Thank you for anyone's help and time with assisting me with this request.

    > top "Settings" I see the error: "An error occurred while generating

    That's due to a security setting (most possibly) your current OS does
    not understand. Hard to find out wich exact setting it is... To resolve
    this issue, we need the gtpptmpl.inf file residing in the policiy's
    sysvol folder. To open this folder, edit the policy, move to computer
    settings - policies - windows settings - scripts - startup, press "show
    files". Then move two folders upwards and back down to
    .\microsoft\windows nt\secedit. There you'll see the gpttmpl.inf - post
    its contents and we'll have a look at it.
    > location, which I speculate is: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies (which

    That's perfectly ok - JOHN.LOCAL in fact is a symlink pointing to "domain".

    > -Move FROM: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies

  • Set the Object Key while starting the Workflow

    Hi Experts,
    I am trigerring a workflow using the fm "SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW". I am using a custom business object for my workflow
    and would like to know how we can set the object-key(i.e key attribute) for this business object at the start of the workflow so that it  can be used in the various tasks of the workflow.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Chaitanya.

    Hello,
    Please search this forum for SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW and you'll see how it's done.
    Basically:
    lv_object_instance-objtype = 'FORMABSENC'.
    lv_object_instance-objkey = '0000000088'.
    lt_wf_cont-element = 'ABSENCEFORM'.
    lt_wf_cont-value = lv_object_instance.
    append lt_wf_cont.
    CALL FUNCTION 'SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW'
    TABLES
       INPUT_CONTAINER          = lt_wf_cont
    Note that it's advised to use events instead of starting the workflow directly like this, if possible.

  • Odata JDBC Service: getting NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method

    Hi,
    I am testing OData, for that I followed the steps given in this tutorial:
    http://scn.sap.com/community/developer-center/mobility-platform/blog/2014/06/10/creating-an-odata-service-based-on-sap-gateway-soap-jdbc-and-jpa-data-sources-ba
    It wasn't working as it should, so to understand it better, I created a new project with Stock table only.
    Manually entered all it's properties and then deploy it.
    Issue1: when I create a JDBC connection to connect with derby database, The driver field has maximum limit and whole driver string is not copied. Attached is the screen shot.
    Where as I need to enter: org.apache.derby.jdbc.ClientDriver.
    Issue 2: I can't test the connection from here, weather it's working fine or not ?
    Issue 3:
    When I deploy the project and test the result, I get the Stock Service, But when I try to run this, I get nullpointer exception.
    URL: http://localhost:8080/gateway/odata/sap/WSTest1;v=1
    Response:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <service xml:base="http://localhost:8080/gateway/odata/sap/WSTest1;v=1/" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2007/app" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom">

       <collection href="StockSet">
       <atom:title>StockSet</atom:title>
       </collection>
      </workspace>
    </service>
    Now I need to run StockSet, so next url to access the stock list,
    to get stocks:
    http://localhost:8080/gateway/odata/sap/WSTest1;v=1/SAP/StockSet
    Now I get the following response:
        <?xml version="1.0" ?>
        <error xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices/metadata">

        </error>
    I am not able to figure out, why I am getting this error and how to fix it.
    All I want is to create a ODAta on ESPM_STOCK sample table given in example.
    Looking forward to hear from you.
    Thanks.

    Issue1: when I create a JDBC connection to connect with derby database, The driver field has maximum limit and whole driver string is not copied. Attached is the screen shot.
    Are you working on SMP3.0 (lower version than SP03)?
    If yes, then there is character restriction in SMP3.0 (SP00, SP01), maximum length for a database driver is 25 characters.
    e.g. if driver name is oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver but when you enter this, then you will see onlyoracle.jdbc.driver.Oracle
    Until unless we pass the correct driver value things will not work. there is a workaround for this. You create a desitnation with restricted character length.
    You would be seeing a property file for each created destination underC:\SAP\MobilePlatform3\Server\config_master\service.destinations\destinations
    Go there and open the created "OracleDB" and edit the "DriverName" to the full string:oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Please go through this blog for more understanding:
    http://scn.sap.com/community/developer-center/mobility-platform/blog/2014/01/09/how-to-connect-an-oracle-db-with-integration-gateway-in-smp3
    Note: seems this problem has been resolved in SMP3 SP03
    Issue 2: I can't test the connection from here, weather it's working fine or not ?
    I didnt find a way to test a destination. So you have to be sure about what all values you are entering.
    Once you are done with Destination creation, map it to the respective deployed service under "services" tab.
    Issue 3: When I deploy the project and test the result, I get the Stock Service, But when I try to run this, I get nullpointer exception
    Make sure you have corrected "Database driver" name manually. And then check if you are facing same issue.
    Does this URL expect any input parameters?
    http://localhost:8080/gateway/odata/sap/WSTest1;v=1/SAP/StockSet

    I had a similar issue, but it was after my application was automatically converted by JDEV from 1.1.1.3.
    Perhaps others have determined how to fix the application and projects after the conversion, but I recreated everything in 1.1.14 and this seems to work.

  • OBJECT SKIPPED while transporting the objects from DEV to QA.

    Hi All,
    While transporting the objects to Quality, I'm getting a warning saying Objects are skipped.
    Can anyone please explain how to get rid of this error? We are facing this issue almost for all the transports which we are moving and the objects do not get transported to the next environment. We have to ask BASIS to use overwrite functionality while transporting to fix this each and every time we face an error.
    If any SAP notes are available then please share it to me.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Srikanth,
    Objects of the selected object types exist in your system as changeable even if this system is globally set to not changeable. As a result, these objects are no longer connected to the transport system.
    check here........

  • Response object in JSP Dyn page

    Hi SAP EP Gurus,
    I want to use response.setStatus() mehtod in jspdynpage but it is not working as expected. I am able to use other methods of response object like response.write().
    As per my knowledge if i set response.setStatus(200) is should send error to client but it is not seding error.
    It is working as same for both response.setStatus(200) and response.setStatus(500).
    Is there any special way to use response.setStatus() in portal? It is working as expected in normal jsp application.

    I tried but had no luck. Below is my JSPDYNPAGE code...
    <%@ page import="javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse" %>
    <%@ page import="com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.IPortalComponentRequest,com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.IPortalComponentResponse"%>
    <HTML>
         <head>
         </head>
         <body>
    <%
    IPortalComponentRequest request = (IPortalComponentRequest) this.getRequest();
    HttpServletResponse servletResponse = request.getServletResponse(true);esss
    servletResponse.setStatus(500);
    %>
              </body>
         </HTML>
    It is not working showing portal run time error

    Any pointers will be highly appreciable

    Hi Sahil,
    To address your scenario, while creating the configuration, select all the required agreements to create one configuration and then deploy.
    Alternatively, you can also apply the latest patch MLR (10.1.2.3)

  • Java.lang.NullPointerException while using PGP module in SFTP receiver

    Hi Experts,
    We are trying out newly installed PGP module on SAP PI 711 SP10.
    Scenario     : SFTP to SFTP
    While we are trying to encrypt the message in the SFTP receiver, we get the following error.
    nested exception is: javax.ejb.EJBException: (Failed in component: sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.app, BC-XI-CON-AFW) Exception raised from invocation of public com.sap.aii.af.lib.mp.module.ModuleData com.sap.aii.af.app.endpoint.ModuleProcessorExitBean.process(com.sap.aii.af.lib.mp.module.ModuleContext,com.sap.aii.af.lib.mp.module.ModuleData) throws com.sap.aii.af.lib.mp.module.ModuleException method on bean instance com.sap.aii.af.app.endpoint.ModuleProcessorExitBean@6437822b for bean sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.app*xml|com.sap.aii.af.ejb.jar*xml|ModuleProcessorExitBean in application sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.app.; nested exception is: java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.Message.getMessageKey() of an object loaded from local variable 'msMessage'

    Thanks Hareesh,
    ya that  "callsapadapter"  was the culprit. It comes by itself, Once I removed that PGP was working fine.

  • WebService response object in XML - parsing attributes

    Hi- new to Flex and I'm trying to parse out the attributes of the response object. I can get the entire object and see that its working, but I cant get just a single attribute. It pulls weather info for world cities. For example, I just want the location name and temperature.
    Any advice on this? Thanks!

        <mx:Label text="Weather:"/>
        <mx:TextArea text="{WeatherService.GetWeather.lastResult}" height="200"/>
    </mx:Application>

    The WSDL says GetWeatherResponse is a string, and it appears to be a string of XML, so set <mx:operation resultFormat="object"> as this will unwrap the SOAP response value and leave a string typed value intact. You can then create a new ActionScript 3.0 E4X-based XML instance from the unwrapped string:
        var myXML:XML = new XML(event.result.toString());
    You can then travese the XML document using E4X syntax, a simple example is included below:
        trace(myXML..Location);
        trace(myXML..Temperature);
