  • System build-in or system variable to get number of records from a query

    Hi,
    Is there a system build-in or system variable to get number of records from a Oracle Forms query?
    Thank you

    Namely, when GO_BLOCK(BLOCK_NAME) EXECUTE QUERY finishes, is there a way directly get the number of the records?
    SYSTEM.COURSOR_RECORD = 1 tells this is the first record
    SYSTEM.LAST_RECORD = 'TRUE' tells this is the last record

  • SAP Query: How to filter records from SAP Query output before display

    Hi Friends,
      Can I delete records from an SAP query basic list before it is displayed?
    For example I want to delte all the orders whose system status is "RELEASED" before the basic list of that SAP query is displayed.
    I have gone through SAP help and found out that we can write some code in <b>END code</b> section which will execute before the basic list of the query is displayed. But I could not figure out how the code this...following is an excerpt form SAP help.
    <b>"The END-OF-SELECTION code consists of two parts (Before list output and After list output). The first part is processed before the list is output and the second part afterwards."</b>
    Can anybody help me?
    Regards,
    Bharat.

    Try this simple procedure. <b>Hope</b> this should work for you.
    You do the slection of the status in the List-Processing. say your final field of status flag is GF_STATUS.
    Immediatly after that use this within the List-Processing.
    CHECK GF_STATUS EQ '<RELEASED STATUS>'
    How it works:
    SELECT  <>       "<-------Query processing(system code).
    *< Your code put in the List processing
    CHECK GF_STATUS EQ '<RELEASED STATUS>'   "< --only released records passed.
    *>
    ENDSELECT      "<-----Query endselect(system code).
    Please let me know the result.

  • DB Adapter : How to limit number parent records in select query.

    Hi All,
    I am querying a master-detail tables from a database.
    I want to limit the number of parent records to 15.
    Ex: Resources is parent table. It has two child tables "Skills" & "PersonalDetails".
    Resources table has 1 to many relationship with above tables.
    When i use rownum <= 15 in the where clause i am seeing different results each time.
    Sample query is as below.
    select distict t0.resourceName , t1.skillName , t2.location
    from .table_names
    where .....join between tables..
    and rownum <= 15
    Note : I selected the checkbox "Use outer joins to return a single result set for both master and detail tables" in DBAdapter wizard.
    Let me know if i am missing anything important.
    Thanks,
    Sid.

    Hi,
    You can set the "Max Rows" at the DBAdapter wizard ("Advanced Options" step).

  • Variable to hold the number of records returned by the SQL Query.

    Hi folks,
    Is there any way to hold the number of records that could be returned by the SQL query we use to make a report?
    If so, please do come up with the answer.
    Cheers,
    PCZ.

    Hi there,
    Well, there is no actual business requirement.
    It is just the curiosity of mine.
    I would like to handle
    1) the number of records our report query returns or
    2) the query itself
    to write a better pl/sql code in any trigger/program unit, if any business logic beckons in future.
    Cheers,

  • SQ02 InfoSet Get Count of Total Number of Records that will be processed

    I am developing a query (SQ01) and am currently working on building an InfoSet (SQ02).
    The Infoset was set up using a 'Direct read of table'.  Next, I'm adding some various fields and then going to Extras and trying to define some code to get the total number of records that my query will be processing.  I'm not sure if SAP pulls a filtered result set into a temporary table (by default - if so how could I reference it?) that I can reference or is just pulling in a row at a time in the record processing code, but my question is in regards to getting a record count of how many records are returned in my result set PRIOR TO going through all of the records.
    Overall, I'd like to be able to have a field that says Record X of Y.  I can get the X part for each line, but cannot get 'Y' until the very end.  Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.  I've looked around a bunch, but haven't found anything like what I'm requesting.
    Query Output would look something like:
    Record X1 of Y | Title1 | Amount1
    Record X2 of Y | Title2 | Amount2

    Hi Subin,
         I have tossed around this idea in my head, but am trying to figure out how to get the values and selection options from the query screen to incorporate into my Select statement within my infoset.  The problem I'm running into is that my user enters a group of account numbers and an ending date that has to be pulled from the SQ01 query screen to the SQ02 infoset code.  I've looked around for examples on pulling the data from the query screen, but have been unsuccessful thus far.  Say for instance I have 15 specific accounts that the user is entering in and they want any records that have been submitted prior to the end of the current month and the start of the business year.
         On my query screen they would enter in something like
    Business Year:  2011
    Reporting End Date:  <= 31.03.2011 (Which equates to all records between 01.01.2011 AND 31.03.2011)
    Account #s:  0000, 0001, 0003, 0005, ..., 9999  (These are a variable amount of accounts entered and could include options such as not equal to or even between ranges etc)
    In my START-OF-SELECTION code I would need a select like:
    NOTE:  This is just a pseudo code format, not checked for syntax here
    SELECT count(*)
    FROM TABLE
    WHERE BusinessYear = '2011' AND
        RecordDate Between 01.01.2011 AND 31.03.2011 AND
        Accounts IN (0000, 0001, 0003, 0005, ..., 9999).
    So In this select I need to reference the values in the SQ01.  How would I reference the account #'s and whether or not the user has entered an account number and said Not Equal on it etc.  This select statement would have to be built on the fly, since it's not guaranteed to be the same for each run.
    Thanks,
    Mark

  • SAP Query: InfoSet Filter

    Hey experts,
    I have an Infoset that contains the JEST table (status of object) and TJ02T (text of the status).
    In my query result I only want records in 1 language.
    I know I can make a selection criteria on language with a default value.
    But now I want to hide the field in the selection criteria.
    How can I do this?
    I don't find an option to hide selection criteria. And I don't want to make an additional variant.
    Is it possible to delete the records in the infoset with some coding?
    Thanks

  • Number of records in cube from Query Designer

    I don't have access to the cube in BW(listschema). I only have access to pull reports from cube from Query Designer. How can I tell the total number of records in a cube?
    Thanks.

    Hi
    you can use the tech content in the query designer to display the count for no of records or you can do the same via creating a new CKF
    or see the below link to display the count
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/009819ab-c96e-2910-bbb2-c85f7bdec04a

  • Serial Number in SAP Query !!!

    Hi Gurus
    How can we add Serial Number in SAP Query? There is a field named Counter which gives Total number of count. But i need numbers to be displayed with each line item.

    OK,
    So you need to create a Number Range Object (tr SNRO), this create a object like ZNUM.
    then, each time you need insert a new record to table only call this FM:
    CALL FUNCTION 'NUMBER_GET_NEXT'
        EXPORTING
          nr_range_nr             = '01'
          object                  = 'ZNUM'
        IMPORTING
          number                  = itab-field
        EXCEPTIONS
          interval_not_found      = 1
          number_range_not_intern = 2
          object_not_found        = 3
          quantity_is_0           = 4
          quantity_is_not_1       = 5
          interval_overflow       = 6
          buffer_overflow         = 7
          OTHERS                  = 8.
    at this point, ITAB-FIELD contains the next number in the range ZNUM.
    I hope this help,
    X.S.

  • How do I count the number of records returned in the CMIS query

    How do I count the number of records returned in the query CMIS?
    SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ora:t:IDC:GlobalProfile WHERE ora:p:xRegionDefinition = \'RD_PROJETOS_EXCLUSIVOS\''}
    Euler Homero

    Hi Euler,
    interestingly enough, the reference guide for CMIS ( http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/CMIS_Query_Language ) that I found does not mention the COUNT function at all. On the other hand it states that: "The SELECT clause identifies which virtual columns to return in the result set. It can be either a comma-separated list of one or more queryNames of properties that are defined by queryable object types or * for all virtual columns."
    There are, however, some other posts like e.g. http://alfrescoshare.wordpress.com/2010/01/20/count-the-total-number-of-documents-in-alfresco-using-sql/ which state that they could make it working.
    Having asked in the WebCenter Portal forum, I assume that your content repository is WebCenter Content. The CMIS doc for the Content is available here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e15813.pdf (no COUNT there either). It does, however, mention explicitly that "CMIS queries return a Result Set where each Entry object will contain only the properties that were specified in the query.". This means your could rather investigate the Result Set. Note that there are also other means than CMIS how to get the requested result set (e.g. calling a search service directly via so-called RIDC).
    In the given context I am also interested what your use case is. OOTB CMIS in WebCenter Portal is used, for instance, in Content Presenter, where it is content rather than "parameters" what's displayed.

  • ABAP query not returning correct number of records

    Hi,
    I have created an ABAP Query using logical database VFV and nodes VBRK, VBUK and VBRP.
    But, after entering values for Sales Organisation ( VBRK-VKORG ), Distribution channel ( VBRK-VTWEG ) and Date ( VBRK-FKDAT), the number of records that I get are very less in number as compared to the actual number in the database.
    Please give some pointers to the reason. I have set Lines 60 and Columns length - 83 and selected ALV List.
    Regards,
    Garima.

    Hi Garima,
    Please Check whether you are selecting all the Key fields in your Query.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ashok kumar.

    if yes, please provide some details.

    hi pandurang
    when u see the contents of a particular cube
    RSA1->Infocube->manage->contents
    there is a option "Output number of Hits"
    An extra keyfigure is created displaying the number of records rolled up

  • Display only the last record per material in SAP query

    Hi,
    I have created a SAP Query using the quickviewer that is a join between 2 tables (MSEG and MKPF) that consist of material document information and date of posting.
    The results are fine however I would like only the last record per material to be displayed.
    Can anyone tell what do I need to add so for only the last record per material be displayed in the output.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    May be if you use Control Level processing .........I think you will be able to get the result you want. Try displaying as Below,
    LOOP AT XXXXX.
    AT FIRST material.
    ENDAT.
    AT LAST material.
    *...Display what ever you want here. It will display at end of every material.
    ENDAT.
    ENDLOOP.
    Before using sort the table with key material in ascending.
    Hope what I had to say is helpful to you.
    Cheers,
    Raga Suman.

  • Query using system parameter LEVEL returns incorrect huge number of records

    We migrate our database from Oracle *9.2.0.6* to *11.2.0.1*
    The query below throws "ORA-01788: CONNECT BY clause required in this query block".
    select * from (
    +select a.BOARD_ID, code, description, is_displayable, order_seq,  board_parent_id, short_description, IS_SUB_BOARD_DISPLAYABLE, <font color=blue>LEVEL</font> child_level, sp_board.get_parent_id(a.board_id) top_parent_id, is_top_selected isTopSelected+
    from boards a, ALERT_MESSAGE_BOARD_TARGETS b
    where a.board_id = b.board_id and is_displayable = 'Y' and alert_message_id = 5202) temp
    start with board_parent_id = 0
    connect by prior board_id = board_parent_id
    ORDER SIBLINGS BY order_seq;
    Based from online resources we modified "*_allow_level_without_connect_by*" by executing the statement.
    alter system set "_allow_level_without_connect_by"=true scope=spfile;
    After performing the above, ORA-01788 is resolved.
    The new issue is that the same query above returns *9,015,853 records in 11g* but in *9i it returns 64 records*. 9i returns the correct number of records. And the cause for 11g returning greater number of records is due to system parameter <font color=blue>LEVEL</font> used in the query.
    Why 11g is returning an incorrect huge number of records?
    Any assistance to address this is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    The problem lies in th query.
    Oracle <font color=blue>LEVEL</font> should not be used inside a subquery. After <font color=blue>LEVEL</font> is moved in the main query, the number of returned records is the same as in 9i.
    select c.BOARD_ID, c.code, c.description, c.is_displayable, c.order_seq, c.board_parent_id, c.short_description, c.IS_SUB_BOARD_DISPLAYABLE, <font color=blue>LEVEL</font> child_level, c.top_parent_id, c.isTopSelected
    from (

    from boards a, ALERT_MESSAGE_BOARD_TARGETS b
    where a.board_id = b.board_id and is_displayable = 'Y' and alert_message_id = 5202
    ) c
    start with c.board_parent_id = 0
    connect by prior c.board_id = c.board_parent_id
    ORDER SIBLINGS BY c.order_seq
