OAM- http header containing old value

Hi,
I am using OAM to protect one web application and need to pass few http headers to the application for funtioning.
Issue is one of my http header takes older value only even after its value is changed in repository. Due to this user is stuck in that loop only for some time and after 15-20 mins it gets updated in http header.
Please let me know what could be the reson for this. Is this caching issue? if yes where excatly can this be updated.
Thanks
Sandy

Hi Sandy,
Yes, it sounds like a caching issue. If the user has an existing OAM session when the attribute is changed, the attribute is stored in the Access Server cache. You can lower the cache (Access Server settings) but this couls have a detrimental effect on perfomance. If you are updated the attributes from the WebPass, then you can enable automatic cahce flushing for this purpose. (Answer assume OAM 10g, by the way.)

Colin

    Hello. I added custom http response headers to my SP site web config file as follows:
    <httpProtocol>
          <customHeaders>
                 <add name="Access-Control-Allow-Methods" value="POST,GET,OPTIONS" />
          <add name="Access-Control-Allow-Origin" value="*" />

    Hi Ann,
    Please check whether there are duplicate custom headers in your code.

  • List ItemRenderer contains old values

    Hi Everyone,
         I have used List for show the data from db. Data will update periodically. My problem is some rows contains old values. I have tried validateNow(), invalidateList...
    But I cant achieve the result.
    Kindly Suggest me the possible ways to reset the Data.

    If you are using custom ItemRenderer, you need to declare a variable within custom ItemRenderer and use that variable to display the data.

  • Table For Header Text Old Value

    Hi,
    Could Anyone helpme in finding the table for Header text of the PO , as We know  to find the current PO Header Text,by usinf th FM READ_text but i want to to find the header text for the po before Updated , Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Priyanka M Jain

    Hi,
    I believe that you need the text just after entering in PO during the runtime.
    just enter the text and go in the debugg mode, check for table text / textline in the global parameters and you will find the text.
    Hope this helps,
    Raj

  • JTextFields sometimes still contains old values even setText("") performed

    I have a program which let user enter 3 JTextFields : hostname, userid, password, and one JButton. When the button is clicked, below function will be executed to get the value of the JTextField, then relevant function will be called.
    My problem is when I run the program, sometimes it will get the "previous" value, sometimes it works correctly. I make sure all JTextFields values will be cleared each time, but no help. Here is part of my code:
        private void sendActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
            String hn = hostname.getText();
            String ln = login.getText();

  • How to set custom HTTP header for single sign on

    Currently we just begin to use an application called "etran". This application requires user name and password to login. Now, my assignment is to integrate etran application in our internal application. This means that somewhere in our internal application, there is a link leads to the etran application.
    It is going to be single sign on, that means that once user logs into our internal application, when he/she clicks on the etran link, no sign on to etran is needed.
    I consult with the technical people in etran. they said that our internal application needs to send a "login request" to etran via SSL with the user's information encoded in base 64 format. etran captures the HTTP header containing user authentication and authorization information, and parses the required information from the HTTP header.
    My question is that how I set user information in HTTP header? From my understanding, once I am able to set the user information in HTTP header, it is in base 64 format?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

You can invoke a HTTP request programmatically using java.net.URLConnection. You can set request headers using URLConnection#setRequestProperty(). Also see the API docs: [http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/net/URLConnection.html]. You only need to know the header field name where to set the Base64-encoded value in. You need to Base64-encode the value yourself.

  • Which OAM setting for passing values in HTTP header to application

    Experts, what is the setting in OAM 11gR2 that is set to pass a userid pulled from a LDAP directory (which is already configured with OAM) as a HTTP Header to an application.
    This is typically in cases where OAM is protecting or providing to protected resources on a Web Server or application.
    Is this setting (in OAM) by default set to userid? I wanted to know exactly where and how to set this value in OAM Console settings.

    In the protected resource policy and protected authorization policy in the responses tab set parameters to return headers for example if you want to return userid under name set header name like user_name, type header and the value as $user.userid. By default I guess OAM_REMOTE_USER is set in the http headers which contains the user id.

    String endpoint ="http://10.1.3.104/mims/service.asmx?WSDL";
    String nameSpaceUri = "http://www.cum.com/MIMS";
    Service service = new Service();
    Call call = (Call) service.createCall();
    call.setTargetEndpointAddress( new java.net.URL(endpoint) );
    call.setOperationName(new QName(nameSpaceUri, "echoString") );
    String ret = (String) call.invoke( new Object[] { req } );

  • OAM 10.1.4.3 HTTP Header authentication. Any documentation?

    Thanks in advance,
    I've located a document that outlines how to achieve this in a 10.1.3.x environment here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b28957/coreid.htm
    under the "Web Application Using HTTP Header Variables through Oracle Access Manager" heading.
    I have two questions:
    1. Is there any updated documentation for 10.1.4.x as there are different.
    2. I'm using the oracle HTTP server as a reverse proxy and have my webgate installed there. The instructions assume you are using OC4J and ask you to make modification to files that do not exist in an OHS scenario. How can I configure my HTTP server to pass through the headers to the access server for authentication?
    Damion

    Did you figure this out, Damion? We're facing a similar issue and I can't find any documentation anywhere...

  • OIF11g - Help on sending user attributes in HTTP header

    Hello, I have a OIF11g setup configured for both IdP and SP. Upon successfull authentication against LDAP, I need to end some user attributes on the HTTP header to the SP application. I do no have OAM in my setup, so there is no option of Webgate or Policy Manager to do that. As far as I read the config doc, I'm in the impression that we need to write a custom authentication engine to accept user credentials and code to authenticate against LDAP and also add attributes to the response header.
    Before I go down that path, just wanted to confirm if anybody has done this with OIF?
    Thanks,
    Sunil.

    Bernhard:
    Actually the headers are not set to null. I have an intermediate index.jsp page which is the first page that is redirected to by the AM - it is this page which calls my LoginServlet.
    The value appears consistently on this index.jsp page but after it is forwarded to the LoginServlet it starts behaving inconsistently. I check the system.out log in my websphere /logs folder and that tells me that LoginServlet does not consistenly get these values from the header.
    The wierd part is that if I use cookies or attributes, it works perfectly - each time every time. However, only in the case of headers (which is the method i am required to do) it behaves inconsistently.
    ANY feedback/help on this would be really appreciated bern.. thanks..

    Hi,
    The 'Communication Channel' in Integration Builder was not configured right in the 'Service Number' field. There was a J2EE port instead of HTTP port.
    J2EE port: 5<instance number>00
    HTTP port: 80<instance number>
    Good luck to everyone,
    Dimitry

  • How to send a signed SOAP message with additional HTTP Header fields

    Our Partner's integration requirements are that we send them asynchronous SOAP messages, that are digitally signed, and whose HTTP headers contains 5 or 6 additional header fields, of which 3 or 4 will need to be dynamically set during the message mapping.  I believe we can use the HTTP adapter for adding new fields to the HTTP header, but don't believe it supports signing.  I believe that the SOAP adapter supports signing, but I'm not clear on how to use it to add fields to the HTTP header.  What is the most straight-forward way to achieve both the signing of the message and the addition of the HTTP header values?
    Thanks,
    Kurt

    >>>What is the most straight-forward way to achieve both the signing of the message and the addition of the HTTP header values?
    Use Java mapping for both.
    1) Signing the message
    You can digitally sign the soap message using many standard api like WSS4j? or  refer Java XML signature API which comes in Jdk1.6.
    Refer these links
    WSS4J  -  http://ws.apache.org/wss4j/axis.html
    Java XML signature : http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/xml/dig_signature_api/
    2) >>whose HTTP headers contains 5 or 6 additional header fields, of which 3 or 4 will need to be dynamically set during the message mapping
    Use Dynamic configuration API to set the additional header fields during message mapping.

  • How to change the dynamically  LOV value to old value if it errors out

    We have an use case like when a value is selected from LOV, some validations(EO validations) occur on that and if the validation fails we are throwing exception.But the new value is appearing in LOV text box. We need to display the old value in the LOV if the validation fails. Can you please let me know if there is any way to do that?

    After thinking about this, I wondered if I had mis-read the use-case....so I added #2
    Please state your Jdeveloper version, and elaborate on your use-case:
    *1. Are you saying that the LOV contains incorrect values that the user has chosen?*
    If so you should restrict the LOV values to what is acceptable for the row (based on what other values are in the row)
    By restricting the values in the LOV the wrong value can no longer be selected, you would not need to build in functionality to revert back to previous values.
    I woud start by creating a view criteria for the view object the LOV is based on. The form values would send the binding variables to the view criteria, and that would then execute the query (invoking the view criteriea). The LOV would then contain some information on only acceptable values.
    You may be able to adapt some of the ideas presented in this video (on cascading list boxes) to make your LOV work properly. http://youtu.be/WTevRnXq04o
    This video shows some ways to manipulate view criteria: http://youtu.be/dX93fiBCxEg
    *2. Are you saying that the user has selected other fields in the form -- validation on those fields fails, and you want to revert back, but the LOV still contains the values selected?*
    In that case, you need to clear the values in the form and re-execute the view object -- and refreshing to the correct value.

  • Errors with Resource Adapter with data source as "http header"

    hi Team,
    The objective was to create a ResourceAdapter that will get accountid from http-header and automatically log me in. More like Siteminder, Tivoli Access Mgr.
    In the adapter's "prototype.xml", I added this line.
    "<AuthnProperty name='sauid' displayName='UserID in From Browser' formFieldType='text' isId='true' dataSource='http header'/>
    I enable pass-through authn for "user-interface" app.
    My test passes, when I login to "/idm/user". I am not prompted for uid/pwd instead I am
    transparently logged and presented with self-service page, aka single-sign-on. so far so good.
    But, I have an issue when when I login to /idm (not /idm/user) as configurator and then try to create a new user.....I donot see the set password fields in modify.jsp. This issue is only apparent if I set enable pass-through for user-interface. If I reset the user interface to default, which is userid/pwd, then I do see set-password-fields in modify.jsp.
    Any leads on why this could be happening?

    Hi Asam,
    If we want to create a parameter depend on another dataset, we can additional create or add the dataset, embedded or shared, that has a query that contains query variables. Then use the option that “Get values from a
    query” to get available values. For more details, please see:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd283107.aspx
