"All" option in page item in Discoverer viewer

In discoverer viewer , option "All" is added along with the other entires of Page item. in the drop down . But this "All" option is available only as the last entry of the drop down . Is there any way to dispaly "All" as first entry in the Drop down ?? Please help it is urgent

Short answer - I believe no, you cannot alter the location due to it's name (ie: <All> flows to the bottom).
Long answer (great bedtime reading to help you snooze!):
In the ol' days (read Desktop actually), people regularly wanted to have the <All> option for a table (not just a xtab) and there is a way of adding <All> to a LOV via the LOV concept in the Admin edition.
When I did this in LOVs, I think I remember that what you called the <All> made a difference in the placement.
For example, I think I remember that if I added .All, then it went to the top. If I added <All> then it went to the bottom.
So it sure sounds like the LOV is alphabetically displayed no matter what you try to do and the <All> flows to the bottom - or worse - potentially someone in the list. You could also try to add the .All method to a redirected LOV, but then you'd have 2 Alls I suspect (one at the top, one at the bottom).

Include Master Page Items in Table of Contents

I am building a table of contents in InDesign CS3. I've got paragraph style applied to my section heading and well as section subheadings. However, my sections headings are located on Master Pages (as they are repeating on several pages), and my section subheadings are located directly on the pages themselves (as they do not repeat).
When I set up my table of contents only my section subheadings show up, not both. When I go to a page with a section heading and override the master page item and then update my table of contents my section header shows up. Is there any way to include my secion headers without overriding the master page items?

sql, I have replace CDB_CNRCLT02 table with a view which is created on a database link. but my page
doesnt run now.I also renamed CDB_CNRCLT02 table and then created another view with CDB_CNRCLT02 name, it still didnt work!
I dont want to re-create whole application again! is there anyway to point this page to new view?

Application parsing schema owns the view and Im able to select ( using the same sql ) from view through sqlplus and sql workshop.(I have found that sql workshop is not case sensitive whereas apex itself is,)
when I run the page based on view, i get page can not be displayed error

Can you select from the views in SQL*Plus? SQL Workshop?
it used to be apex version 3.0 but now i have upgraded to 3.1 (problem exist in borth versions) database version is 10.2.0.2.0
PS: I have created new application based on newly created view and my application works fine! this is the case only if I create new report based on wizard / sql builder , it would NOT work if I type my own SQL( even though sql which im typing works perfectly fine through SQL Workshop),
once created new application using wizard I copied the same code to my existing application which im having problem with, and it still doesnt work!

How to make the Pager for table view as non editable?

Hi,
I am using an HTMLB pager for my table view .
It appears as Page '1' of 2 for examle.
But '1' is dispalyed in an input field.
How do I make this input field as disabled.
I just want to use the Vertical and horizontal indicators to traverse through the pages of the table view.
I do not want the user to enter the page number ..

Look at SBSPEXT_XHTMLB sample, pages pager.bsp and pagerX.bsp.
If you use the external pager, then you can specify a format where a text string will only be displayed without an inputfield for editing.

Multi layer table view/navigation controller hierarchy best practice

Hi,
I am new to iPad/iPhone development and wondering what the best practice for multiple layers of table views is? I understand the principle of a navigation controller providing the framework for moving up and down a list but have not yet quite got my head around if you should have one navigation controller for the whole tree or several navigation controllers.
In my app I need to have the following:
Main view -> window view showing some interactive elements (picker, buttons etc.)
Setup view -> Hierarchy managed by nav controller/table views
The setup view needs to manage the following hierarchy...
- Level A:
- Global app variables (one table view)
- Level B Items (table view showing list of items at belonging to Level B)
- Level B Item 1 (table view showing list of items at level C belonging to level B item 1)
- Level C Item 1 (table view showing list of items at level D belonging to level C item 1)
- Level D Item 1 (table view showing list of items at level E belonging to level D item 1)
- Level E item (table view for properties of item at Level E)
- Level D Item n
- Level C Item n
- Level B Item n
Each level in this has some properties and then a list of child items.
What would be the best way of structuring this? I would assume that creating a class that extends a view controller for each level is a given but what about the control of the navigation? Should this be handled by one navigation controller or one per level? I think I know the right answer but have not seen a neat way of implementing
I think I am also best off having each level in it's own xib but, once again, am not 100% sure that this is the best design pattern.

Hi Julian,
I have struggled with the same questions you are addressing. On a previous project we tried to model based on packages, but during the course of the project we encountered some problems that grew overtime. The main problems were:
1. It is hard to enforce rules on package assignments
2. With multiple developers on the project and limited time we didn't have time to review package assignment
3. Devopelers would click away warnings that an object was already part of another project and just continue
4. After go-live the maintenance partner didn't care.
So, my experience is is that it is a nice feature, but only from a high level design point of view. In real life it will get messy and above all, it doesn't add much value to the development. On my neew assignment we are just working with packages based on functional area and that works just fine.

Table View Navigation

I've a table view with one column being an image (clickable). I have 40 rows of records (say for example) and I display 15 at a time in my table view.
When I navigate to page 3 of my tableview (for example) and click on row to edit (lineedit mode) my view page stays put on page 3 of table view (that's the way it should be). However, after row selection, when I click on my image (which generates a server event and I do my stuff) it goes back to the 1st page of the tableview. The point to note that it does keep the rowselection (on the 3rd page) and changes the icon image as it suppose to but somehow it navigates to the 1st page every time.
Is there a way to control the navigation?

I've added
runtime->keep_context = 1. in my do_handle_event
and also added
keepSelectedRow       = "TRUE" in my htmlb:tableview
but still it navigates to the 1st page.
It is this section in the render cell iterator
    IF p_edit_mode IS INITIAL.
    ELSE.
       img->onclick = 'image_click'.
    ENDIF.
which fires the server event and always goes back to the 1st page.
Please help.

Have a problem with table views

I try to explain the problem.
We have a viewset and some table views in it.

We scroll down to necessary table view.

If we change a page on any table view or reveal list on this.
It may take little time, but after, the page scroll up automatically.
No idea, why it happens.

How to place the page items horizontal in pivot table in OBIEE

Hi experts
In pivot table i have two pages items. And i want to place them horizaontaly. So how can i achieve this.
for Ex: I have placed my two columns in page section of pivot table: Year,city.
then i need as ;
Year City
where year is one dropdown list and city is another drop down list.

Hi,
We can seperate the page items using 'Start New Page Drop Down', but the item will be displayed in the next line.
I think you would like to show them side by side i.e, horizontally..
If it is, i think it is not possible as of OBIEE 10.1.3.3.. not sure about 10.1.3.4..
Please let me know if my assumption is wrong.. I will be very happy if anyone corrects me..:)

How to get the List of Database Objects (Table/View) for a given APEX Page.

I have an application and that consist of pages like page1,2,3,.....
*1.* I want a report which can give me the list of all the Pages1,2,3,....
I am using the following query to acheive this.... THIS IS FINE..

and a.application_id = b.application_id*2. Now, I want for each individual page*, the list all the database objects (tables/views), which that page is using.
I am using ALL_DEPENDENCIES , but I am not getting the result.
So, want to know if there any view/table, where I can get the Application Pages & there database object list...

The view APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_DB_ITEMS will only give me the table name related to any Page Items defined to that page..It will not give me all the database objects..
suppose we have a Page, having a report based on multiple tables and there is no Page items defined on that page, we will not have any value in this ....DB_ITEMS table. same thing if we have define some PL|SQL(using some table/view) in a Process, that will not be populated in .....DB_ITEMS table. I want some thing like all the database objects (table/views/function/procedure/.....) for a particular Page ID.

Add data to table view from input fields in a page

        I am developing a BSP page which will be called from SRM shop transaction. After user enters the line item data, data will be passed back to shop transaction using OCI interface and the page attributes (URL).
   (1) How can I add data from input fields to table view on a page on a button click? I am able to add first line but I could not retain first line data when I try to add the second line.
      I am able to add multiple lines to table view if I use view and controller by adding to the line data to static attribute of the controller. I cant use the controller and view because I can not set the attribute to Controller automatically.
   (2) Is there a way to pass an attribute (URL) to controller from SPRO? Like we pass an attribute to page automatically (Automatic page attribute).
   (3) How can I call a controller and view and pass the page attribute to the controller on a button click from a page with out controller?

In table view, how to add one button for selecting page?

Hi Experts,
In the OBIEE 11.1.1.6, we have one uncommon requirement that customers want to randomly select actual page to view expected data in table view.
For example:
We make use of some columns to create one report in table view, and set 'Rows per Page' equal to '5',
if this report contains 60 rows, it will have 12 pages, so customers want to select sepcial page number to view the some data. Is it possible to implement this requirement? Maybe we should write JS code.
Note: Below table view, it has four buttons: First Row, Previous Row, Next Row and Display (500) rows in per page. So we want to add one button to select per page.
We look at orgnial codes in WebBrowse, but do not know the following codes derive from which JS file.
Could you please tell me how to find this file?

Thanks for listening me.
I agree 11g have some issues unlike 10g. I've tried the same by creating a measure rcount(1) and name it as Page in RPD. I just pulled column Page in pivot table section 'Pivot Table Prompts' it is working but this may not answer your requirements.
I would suggest to use the column in Prompt and go by between operator to allow user to select the rows between.
In the report make Page as prompted.
If you are okay with this can look forward to tweak it further, like values in the prompt multiple of 5 or 10s some thing like that.

I have calculated item (column 5 as summation of 1,2,3,4) and caluclated itme (column 9 as summation of 6,7)...now if i arrange ascending then calculated columns 5,9 don't get affected.
I need the order as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9

Discoverer Viewer Report with Page Items Slow Performance

I created a report in Discoverer User that has page items and parameters and runs fine (under 3 minutes) in Discoverer User, but when I try and run it in Discoverer Viewer it takes a long time. It took over 70 minutes before manually terminating it. I made a copy of the report and removed the page items and tried to run it again in Discoverer Viewer and now the report runs in under 3 minutes. Any idea why a report with page items would run in Discoverer user fine, but not discoverer viewer?
I am using Oracle Business Intelligence Plus 10g (10.1.2.55.26)

As long as you can access the middle-tier server where Discoverer Viewer is running, you should be able to run and view Discoverer worksheets.
While it is difficult to even start guessing what the problem might be, if the machine you installed Discoverer on has DHCP addressing, you will run into problems.
