Object tag for JSP

Hi all,
I have a JSF code which is using <af:objectMedia> tag(supplied by Oracle ADF faces) for emdeding windows media player. But now i have to implement the same in JSP.
So, is there any JSTL tag in JSP that embed any media player?? I don't want to use html object or embed tags.
Please help me out in this.

Hi Galileo,
In place of XXXX could you pls try using the following and see if it works.
#{SessionBean1.<Session Property>} or
#{SessionBean1.<Session Property>.value}
I hope this helps.
Cheers :-)

  • About clsid and more in object tag for deployment

    I've found it a bit hard to get up-to-date information about the best-practice for writing applet/object/embed tags in html when deploying java applets. Anyway, I found this.
    <!--[if !IE]> Firefox and others will use outer object -->
    <object classid="java:com.myCompany.MyApplet.class"
            type="application/x-java-applet"
            archive="../MyApplet.jar"
            width="400" height="600">
        <param name="mayscript" value="true" />
        <param name="someParameter" value="someValue" />
        <!-- Konqueror browser needs the following param -->
        <param name="archive" value="../MyApplet.jar" />
    <!--<![endif]-->
        <!-- MSIE (Microsoft Internet Explorer) will use inner object -->
        <object classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93"
                codebase="http://java.sun.com/update/1.5.0/jinstall-1_5_0-windows-i586.cab"
                width="400" height="600" >
        <param name="code" value="com.myCompany.MyApplet" />
        <param name="archive" value="../MyApplet.jar" />
        <param name="mayscript" value="true" />
        <param name="someParameter" value="someValue" />
        <strong>
            Some error message...<br />
            <a href="http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/downloads/index.html">Download!</a>
        </strong>
        </object>
    <!--[if !IE]> close outer object -->
    </object>
    <!--<![endif]-->This code works in Firefox 2/3 and IE7 (on Vista). Would you experts here say this is an acceptable way of doing it, or do you have a better way to recommend?
    But there is one thing that was really hard to find googling, and that is what should the clsid ("clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93") and codebase ("http://java.sun.com/update/1.5.0/jinstall-1_5_0-windows-i586.cab") be if I want the applet to run in the latest Java version? Or at least 1.6.0 instead of 1.5.0 since I compile the applet using jdk1.6.0_06.
    And wouldn't www.java.com be a more user-friendly download link instead of http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/downloads/index.html? On this site it says "The above default release, 1.4, is the latest release of Java Plug-in." and links to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html, which in term says "J2SE 1.4.2 is in its Java Technology End of Life (EOL) transition period." Why couldn't Sun keep their web sites a bit more up-to-date?

  • OBJECT tag is not working in jsf

    Hello,
    I am trying to add an object tag in jsp page. it is working fine with html page but it is not recognize by the jsf.
    JDeveleoper is 12c
    Thank you.

    Hi Timo,
    I added the tag you mentioned nothing change the red line still there. But, I did something else and I do not know if this has any thing to do with the problem.
    What I did is:
    the tag is working fine in html page and here is the tag in html page:
    <DIV STYLE="position:absolute; top:100px; left:50px;">
    <table border=1 cellpadding="0">
       <tr><td>
         <OBJECT classid=clsid:69A40DA3-4D42-11D0-86B0-0000C025864A height=75
                id=SigPlus1 name=SigPlus1
      <PARAM NAME="_Version" VALUE="131095">
      <PARAM NAME="_ExtentX" VALUE="4842">
      <PARAM NAME="_ExtentY" VALUE="1323">
      <PARAM NAME="_StockProps" VALUE="0">
                </OBJECT>
       </td></tr>
    </table>
    </DIV>
    <FORM id=FORM1 method=get name=FORM1>
    <p>
    <INPUT id=SignBtn name=SignBtn type=button value=Sign onclick=OnSign()>
    <INPUT id=button1 name=ClearBtn type=button value=Clear onclick=OnClear()>   &nbsp
    <INPUT id=button2 name=Cancel type=button value=Cancel onclick=OnCancel()>
    <INPUT id=submit1 name=Save type=submit value=Save onclick=OnSave()>
    </p>
    As I mention before once I copy the previous tag into jsp page the red lines appears.  in jsp when I convert the word from uppercase to lower case the red lines disappeared and I am able to run the page but the tag is not functioning. the changed tag is:
    <div style="position:absolute; top:100px; left:50px;">
    <table border="1" cellpadding="0">
       <tr><td>
         <object classid= "clsid:69A40DA3-4D42-11D0-86B0-0000C025864A" height="75"

      <param name="_StockProps" value="0"/>
                </object>

  • Tool Tips From Object Tag

    Hi,
    Strange phenomenon just started happening.
    I have many client flash sites, some of which have been
    running for years.
    Suddenly, if you let the mouse hover (just stay in one place
    for a few seconds), a yellow "tool tip", you know those little
    yellow rectangles with help in them, pops up. The text of the tool
    tip is the Title parameter of the Object tag in the HTML file.
    I have one site that has "banner" as the Title property in
    the object tag. So, a little yellow box with the text "banner" pops
    up erratically whenever you leave the mouse in one place for more
    than a second or two. It also goes away randomly.
    This has not happened before, until very recently, and it has
    not happened on the PC - just on Safari on a Mac.
    Flash Player update problem? I'm baffled. I've removed the
    title property from the object tags for now, but I don't know if
    that will fix the problem.
    Anyone else seeing the same issue?
    Thanks, AAK (Alan)

    No matter how I create form fields, they all have a tool tip, even if there is null character string for its value.
    You can create a small JavaScript program that you can run through Acrobat's JavaScript console to place a null string in the 'userName' property of each form field in the PDF.
    // get the number of fields in this PDF
    var nNumFields = this.numFields;
    // a variable for the field name being processed
    var cFieldName;
    // loop through all of the fields in the PDF
    for(i = 0; i < nNumFields; i++) {
    // get the field name for the ith field
    cFieldName = this.getNthFieldName(i);
    // set the userName to a null string
    this.getField(cFieldName).userName = "";
    } // end for loop
    See The Acrobat JavaScript Console (Your best friend for developing Acrobat JavaScript) by Thom Parker for information about using the JavaScript console in Acrobat.

  • Can a Servlet be used for Storing Objects with both JSP and JSF used on it?

    Hi,
    Pages I have:
    SearchEmployee.jsp
    This page has a search engine that search out the Employee. This Employee Object will be stored inside a Servlet(controller) for future references by other pages. I used JSP, html tags for forms, and request.getParameter() to built this search engine.
    Problem:
    I have a JSF Form that wants to DISPLAY the employee which I have found in my Search Engine. How can I get the JSF's value="#{Controller.employeeObj.name}" to get the value from the object?
    This seems logical as my JSF form is just retrieving the stored object in the Controller. I currently cant seem to output it

    The servlet shouldn't be used to store ANY data, let alone data to be accessed by other sevlets. Put the object into the Session object.

  • Design view for jsp custom tags.

    when we drag-and-drop custom tag control in the source of jsp page, when we switch to the design view of jsp we should be able to view controls as desired.
    Observation: 1) Eclipse 3.2 doesn't have design view for jsp pages.
    2) which software uses the design view. we need to extend eclipse core framework and we do not find any technical approach document to proceed further on this.
    3) RAD 6.0 we can see a JSP in design view.
    I'm searching for any technical approach document to create plugin that can intercept the custom tags and provide a design view.
    Will any one suggest the plugin for that.

    Jeff,
    I have checked with engineering and found that JSP Design View support on
    Linux is a planned feature for the next release. I don't think we will have
    this feature as part of a Service Pack for 8.1

  • Struts tag for request.setAttribute() in a jsp page

    Hello All
    Does anyone know struts tag that can be used for request.setAttribute() in a jsp page?
    Thanx in advance.

    Well
    <bean:define id="foo" name="newsIdAttribute" scope="request" type="java.lang.String" />is equivalent to
    <%
    (java.lang.String) foo = (java.lang.String)request.getAttribute("newsIdAttribute");
    %for setting bean properties you might have to use
    <jsp:setProperty/> or <c:set/> tags in JSP / JSTL respectively.
    Hope this might answer your question :)

  • Jsp tag for blog attribute in a flex asset

    hi Experts,
    I am using FW7.6.1, I have a flex asset with a blob attribute, when I create that flex asset, I can upload an image in that attribute, but I did not find a jsp tag for rendering that attribute which has a image saved, another question is what jsp tag should be used in case of a word file is uploaded in that attribute, that's to say:
    1. for a image, I want to display it in browser.
    2. for a word file, I want to show popup window to ask user if he wants to download or open.
    By using assetset:getattributevalues and render:stream, it's just for string type of attribute, not for blog.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards

    hi all,
    I got the answer from dev guide, seems should use:
    <blobservice:gettablename varname="uTabname"/>
    <blobservice:getidcolumn varname="idColumn"/>
    <blobservice:geturlcolumn varname="uColumn"/>
    and render:satelliteblob
    some complicated then I expected.

  • Custom JSP Tags for Weblogic

    Hi,

              1) Does Weblogic 5.1 supports Custom Tags ? If so, are there any known

  • Why does people use JSP Tag for their JSP page? (Urgent)

    I don't know what benifit if I am using JSP Tag.
    If anyone knows, pls give me an idea and the advantage of using JSP Tag in JSP Page!
    Thanks in advance!

    You have to read a little about JSP, JSP stands for JavaServer Pages, you can use jsp tags and you can use java code. If you dont want to use jsp tags then you should just write html file, if you just want to use java, then write java class or a servlet.
    The need for jsp arised because people were inserting html code inside a servlet class..a big no no..and a headache. JSP separate model from the view...read a little about MVC-2 model view controller pattern.
    Also read some tutorial on this website...good luck

  • Search strategy for JSP tag files

    Hello everyone,
    I've been trying to find a solution to this for some time, but couldn't find a clean one. Maybe somewhere here has any ideas for a solution...
    Consider a JSP taglib which is composed of hundreds of .tag files. The library is referenced in JSP using the "*tagdir*" option of the taglib directive, which simply points to /WEB-INF/tags/ (where the .tag files are located).
    Our standard server software distribution includes that tag library, as well as JSP pages that make up the server's web user interface. Those JSP pages use the taglib extensively.
    Now, we want to be able to distribute upgrades to the JSP pages and the tablib, but allow customers to easily customize some tag files without worring about loosing their changes if they apply a future upgrade.
    If it were possible for JSP pages to declare two overlapping taglib directives (same prefix) pointing to two different tagdirs, it would allow us to place our hundreds of .tag files in one "standard" directory, and allow customers to place customized .tag files in another "customized" directory. That way JSP files would always use the same prefix for our tags, but the actual .tag file inserted would be coming either from the customers's "customized" tagdir or from our "standard" tagdir (depending if they chose to override a tag with a customized version or not).
    Is this possible? How do people deal with taglib customization and maintenance issues?
    Thank you!

    Thanks for the reply!
    We use the ClickOnce smart client deployment to the user's machine and we would not want to touch/change anything on the user's machine. So, we can't rely on an environment variable being set.
    It almost seems that the DB Support Team has to not only talk to the Tech Support team and arrange for deploying the right version of the tnsnames.ora file on their users machines, but also talk to the App Deployment Team and provide the most recent version of this file to be used for deployment. So I guess if this file is checked in a code repository, the DB Support team can notify the Tech Support Team and the App Deployment Team to refresh respectively all user machines and application deployment configuration files.
    Alternatively, as one of the app deployment instructions of App Deployment team can be: "check out the most recent version of tnsnames.ora from the repository before deploying the application".
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.
