ObjectGUID in a ms sql databse in a varchar(100) column
HI
I'm doing
returnAsBinary = "objectGUID"
in a <cfldap> query.
I was thinking of storing this value returned by objectGUID in a ms sql databse in a varchar(100) column as a primary key. Can you see any pitfalls with this method?
Mabye this is the solution from another website:
Can anyone please explain how to get the objectguid binary attribute from Active Directory using cfldap and store it in the database? I need this so as to maintain a global unique id both in the AD and in my database for the users. Thanks
You'll probably have to use JLDAP for this - CFLDAP has many shortcomings that we've used JLDAP to work around. It's a very simple API and everything works from within CF. I've blogged a few of things we've done, so that should get you started:

SQL Message 207, Severity 16 - Invalid Column Name
The Config Manager 2012 system seems to be very sick with SQL Message 207, Severity 16 - Invalid Column Name messages in the Management Point logs. The column is populated by NULL values. The error message in the logs suggests I refer to the

Primary.Hi Niall and Torsten,
Installed in September of last year. Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, SQL 2008 R2 SP2 (10.50.4000).
The text from the log reads:
Microsoft SQL Server reported SQL message 207, severity 16: [42S22][207][Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Invalid column name 'Distinguished_Name0'.
Please refer to your Configuration Manager documentation, SQL Server documentation, or the Microsoft Knowledge Base for further troubleshooting information.
Followed by:
Discovery Data Manager failed to process the discovery data record (DDR) "D:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes\auth\ddm.box\adsu9110.DDR", because it cannot update the data source.
Possible cause: On a Primary site, it is probably a SQL Server problem.
Solution:
1. Review the immediately preceding status messages from this component about SQL Server errors.
2. Verify that this computer can reach the SQL Server computer.
3. Verify that SQL Server services are running.
4. Verify that the site can access the site database.
5. Verify that the site database, transaction log, and tempdb are not full.
6. Verify that there are at least 50 SQL Server user connections, plus 5 for each Configuration Manager Console.
If the problem persists, check the SQL Server error logs.
Possible cause: On a secondary site, Discovery Data Manager probably cannot write to a file on the site server, so check for low disk space on the site server.
Solution: Make more space available on the site server.
As far as I can tell the services are running, there is no disk space issue, the server can access the database, not sure about the logs or the connections. -

HELP! SQL Query: Other ways to reorder column display?
I have a SQL query report with a large number of columns (users can hide/show columns as desired). It would be great if the column display order could be changed by changing the order of the columns in the SELECT list in the Report Definition, but that doesn't work -- it puts changed or added columns at the end regardless of the order in the SELECT list of the query.
Is there some other way to reorder the columns displayed without using the Report Attributes page? It's extremely tedious to move columns around using the up/down arrows which redisplays the page each time. Am I missing a way to change display order, or does anyone have a "trick" to do this? It's so painful....
When defining forms you can reoder columns by specifying a sequence number for each column. Just curious as to why reports were not done the same way, and are there any plans to address this in a future release?
KarenYes, reordering columns is extremely painful.
It is supposed to be much improved in the next version.
See
Re: Re-ordering columns on reports
Moving columns up/down in Report Attributes
See my example at
http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=24317:141
Basically, let the users move columns around until they are blue in the face, provide a Save button to save the column order in a user preference and reorder the columns when the page reloads.
Or you can use Carl's PL/SQL shuttle as the widget to specify the columns shown and their order. The shuttle is at http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:27
Hope this helps.

SQL - Multiple rows in a single column
Hi everyone,
I have a little question,
The result of my query looks like this:
VALOR
HERRERA
ANDREW
CHARLES
But I need they look like this:
VALOR
HERRERA - ANDREW - CHARLES
How I can do that without using PL/SQL?
Thanks for the help.Hi Justin,
Thanks for reply. The answer for your questions are:
1) No, sometimes could be 1 or 2 or 3 or....n
2) The true is that the result of the query have more columns. Here is the result of the query:
ID NAME VALUE SEC
150 ALGOMAS 44 1
150 AQWER 56456 1
150 DFDSF FG345143 1
150 GFDGDF 5433 1
150 TEST_123 HERRERA 1
166 ALGOMAS 22 1
166 AQWER 33 1
166 DFDSF 44 1
166 GFDGDF 55 1
166 TEST_123 ANDREW 1
243 ALGOMAS 1 1
243 AQWER 2 1
243 DFDSF 3 1
243 GFDGDF 4 1
243 TEST_123 WINDSOR 1
505 ALGOMAS VALOR DE CARAC 1
505 AQWER VALOR DE CARAC 1
505 DFDSF DDFDF 1
505 GFDGDF DFGG 1
505 TEST_123 HERRERA 1
505 TEST_123 CHARLES 2
505 TEST_123 ANDREW 3
If you see the three last rows, it repeat the NAME and the ID, What I need is that three records combine in one only row.
This is really a subquery, only need the VALUE column for the "big query", but when i execute the big query, i got the ORA-01427 error: single-row subquery returns more than one row. I know that error comes out because the NAME = TEST_123 in the ID = 505 have more than one value, so, if there is any way to put that values in only one rows, it resolve my problems.
3) Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0
I offer apologies if the initial information was not enough.
Once again, thanks for reply.

SQL Developer Data Modeler "Reports" Duplicate Columns in Index- Bug

SQL LOADER: how to load CLOB column using stored function
Hi,
I am a newbie of sql loader. Everything seems to be fine until I hit a
road block - the CLOB column type. I want to load data into the clob
column using a stored function. I need to do some manipulation on the
data before it gets saved to that column. But I got this error when I
run the sql loader.
SQL*Loader-309: No SQL string allowed as part of "DATA" field
specification
DATA is my CLOB type column.
here is the content of the control file:
LOAD DATA
INFILE 'test.csv'
BADFILE 'test.bad'
DISCARDFILE 'test.dsc'
REPLACE
INTO TABLE test_table
FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
TRAILING NULLCOLS
codeid BOUNDFILLER,
reason BOUNDFILLER,
Checkstamp "to_date(:CHECKSTAMP, 'mm/dd/yyyy')",
"DATA" "GetContent(:codeid, :reason)"
All references are suggesting to use a file to load data on
CLOB column but I want to use a function in which it generates
the content to be saved into the column.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Baldwin

Change source (sql) of interactive report based on column value?
I've got an Interactive report displaying 10 columns. What I'd like to do is show different columns depending on the value of the first column. All the rows in the result will have the same value in the first column.
If value in column 1 (on any row) = 'aaaa' then
display columns 1,2,3,4, 9, 10
If value in column 1 (on any row) = 'bbbb' then
display columns 1,2,3,4, 7, 8
If value in column 1 (on any row) = 'cccc' then
display columns 1,2,3,4, 5, 6
Should i somehow make the sql query dynamically change or can I use apex to dynamically hide the columns I don't want in the interactive report?
Appreciate if you could point me in the right direction...
/AHello Andy,
You can solve that in your SQL query:
select col1, col2, col3, col4
, case col1
when 'aaaa' then col9
when 'bbbb' then col7
when 'cccc' then col5
end newcol5
from tableYou may have to use to_char or to_number conversions when the datatypes of the col5,7 and 9 are different.

SQL Developer problem. Rows without columns on data tab
Hello,
I have a strange behavior in Oracle SQL Developer Version 2.1.0.63. When I'm trying to open the "Data tab" for some tables, SQL Developer shows data rows but without columns! It seems that I can select different rows but I can't see neither any data nor column names.
Under the filter setting there are no available columns either.
At the same time, when I'm trying to open sys tables they are displayed normally.
From the other side, those tables which are not displayed correctly in 2.1.0.63, could be opened in Version 1.5.5 without any problems.
Do you have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.Hi,

PLSQL-generated SQL report with variable number of columns
I created an app to track college football bowl picks:
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=21723
The main report region includes columns for the various games as well as a column for each participant. In order not to hard code the number of participants, I used PLSQL to generate the SQL so that new columns could be added on the fly.
However, whenever I add a new user I get this result -
report error:
ORA-01403: no data found
If I copy and paste the PLSQL into a new report region and then delete the old one, however, all is well.
Is there something I can do to overcome this?
Thanks.
