Obtain reference to the IPortalComponentRequest in TagLib

Hi,
I created a custom Taglib in a Portal Component according to the tutorial http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/40599e45-8cf9-2910-cbaa-d4cd8e15ff34?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true.
Now I need to obtain a reference to the IPortalComponentRequest in the doStartTag method.
Does anybody know how to do this?

I found it by myself. To whom it may concern. You obtain a reference via:
IPortalComponentRequest req= (IPortalComponentRequest) pageContext.getAttribute(javax.servlet.jsp.PageContext.REQUEST);

How do I get a reference to the SecurityServices instance in my web appl?

I would like to use the audit provider of weblogic to log audit event that I send from my servlet. For writing a auditevent I need a reference to the AuditService instance. How do I obtain that? IS there any static class through with I can get references to the security services?

Pete,
The Thread class's public static Thread currentThread() method will return a reference to the Thread object that represents the thread of execution that is live when the method is invoked. More simply, it provides a reference to the currently executing thread.
So you could use this as a key in a hashtable to represent which thread has a lock on some entity:
   // "hash" is a hashtable
   // entity is an Object representing something that is locked (like
   // a record number or a resource identifier)
   hash.put(Thread.currentThread(),entity);I think this answers your question, unless I misunderstood you.

An interface is just a definition of attributes and methods it contains no
code.
The code is in the class that implements the interface therefore even if you
can pass an objet
reference as an interface you better be sure that the object that will use
it has access to the
implementation. It works when it is not distributed because all of the code
is on the client therefore
is accessible. Once distributed the partition containing PlanSO does not
have the library wich
contains the code for PlanTester therefore it cannot execute code in
PlanTester. If you
want to do this and not put PlanTester in the same Plan as PlanSO I think
you can copy the library wich
contains the code for PlanTester on the server partition and it will not
give you a deserialization error
because now it can find the executable code.
This could also probably happen with inheritance for example you have a
class defined in plan A (ClassA)
and plan B (wich has plan A supplier) contains a sub-class of ClassA
(ClassB). Now in one partition you
create a ClassB then pass it to another partition in a method call of
signature Something( p1 : ClassA ).
ClassB will fit in ClassA so you can do this (it will compile). But if the
partition on wich you are calling
Something() does not have access to the code in plan B then you will get a
deserialization error.

to the test client class even though it is getting passed as an Observer
interface.
Has anybody run into this before? Can anybody give me further details on
why forte has this problem?
I get the same exception whether the distrubted runtime property on the
client is allowed or not allowed. If it is set to not allowed, shouldn't
only an OID be sent across, and no serialization need take place? If the
object is serialized, I guess it does make sense that you would need the
details of the implementation of the interface (da class) to deserialized
it.
Note: I used this pattern instead of Forte events because I am going to
expose the SO as a CORBA interface. Right now, for the forte clients that
use the SO, I am registering for forte events which are posted by the SO to
get around this problem.

Obtaining reference to a specific client

How can we obtain reference to a specific client?

There are five primary ways to obtain a reference to a remote object:
0. It can be returned by a lookup of a remote registry
1. It can be read from an ObjectInputStream
2. It can be the result of a method call
3. It can be passed as a method argument
4. It can be broadcast over the network via UDP
Essentially, a remote object reference is no different than any other serialisable object.

Getting a reference to the current Transaction

In a session bean, I need to call enlistResource(XAResource), an instance method in interface javax.transaction.Transaction, in order to enlist my XAResource object with the current transaction (whether it's a bean-managed or container-managed transaction).
In order to accomplish this, my code therefore needs to be able to obtain a reference to the current transaction, or to the transaction manager (since I could then call TransactionManager's getTransaction() method to obtain the transaction).
Is there a way to do this in IPlanet? (I have found techniques that work for JBoss and BEA, but not IBM.)
[Please note that a reference to a UserTransaction object is of no use, as it provides no enlistResource() method, nor any way to obtain the corresponding Transaction object or the TransactionManager.]

Note this will get a different classloader which uses
the whole class-path.Just as an FYI, class.getResourceAsStream() delegates to the object's ClassLoader, so you can save some typing by omitting the call to getClassLoader(). :o)

How to obtain reference to IVsBrowseObjectContext from VSPackage?

I've developed small extension that modifies content of csproj files. I follow standard pattern to get the Project object:

However Project interface is not sufficient for my purposes (checking items metadata, reinserting items) and I had to fallback to using MSBuild's Project class like this:

.UnloadProject(msBuildProject);
This chunk of code is executed whenever an item is added/renamed/removed to the project.
This works fine however there is caveat - VS detects that file has been changed and prompts to reload project which bad because I want it to happen silently. This approach also does not play well with batch modifications or source control tools. And finally
it is just ugly.
So I decided to check how others are doing it, in particular how does nuget adds its properties. I found out that it uses UncofiguredProject object that retrieve MSBuildProject as following:

I tried the same approach however I could not obtain IVsBrowseObjectContext from Project reference.
What am I doing wrong? Why the same code works for nuget but does not work for my extension?

If you want to obtain a reference to the Package object within VSPackage MSVS extension, you can do something like this:

Creation of Billing with reference to the Sales Order

Dear Friends,
I need your suggestion for the following scenario.
Client wants to create the Billing Document with reference to the Sales order.I mean when he is entering sales Order while creating the billing document ,the system should generate the billing document only for the delivered quantity.
e.g sales order is created for 100 Tons.And there are 5 delivery documents for 50 Tons.(Still the Sales order is open).
Now when billing document is created with reference to the sales order ( Not with reference to the Delivery Document) it should create the billing document only for these five deliveries.
Is it possible? If yes,how?

Currently client has software where he enters only Sales Order no and their software creates the billing for the delivery document for this Sales Order.
Here client does not want to enter multiple delivery document nos if any.He wants to enter only Sales Order no.

Not able to get the reference fot the new column added thru personalization

I have added a new column in an advanced table of Message Text Input. ID for this is xxTemp.
Now i have extended controller and in processrequest(), i am trying to get the reference for this column as below:

But oamessagetextinputbean is returning null value.
Can someone tell me why this is not able to get the reference for the newly added column.

Invoice VF01 with reference to the sales order

Dear Experts,
Our business requirement is to book the invoice with reference to the sales order without posting delivery and PGI. Provide me the step by step process to complete this configuration.
Is that suggestible to change the existing document type which the business is using by creating delivery PGI and Invoice to the document type where invoice booking with reference to sales order or I have to go with the new document type only.

You can deliver the standard sales order by VA02 going to sales document-> deliver.
then save it it will give you outbound delivery number then go to vl02n the do the PGI of the same.
and for Invoices first create billing document byVF01 then create invoice list VF21

Reference to the Stage

Hi!
I have this situation:
Document class:
private var controller:MyController = new MyController()
addChild(controller)
in MyController Class:
later in the code...
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, mouseMoveListener);
MyController class extend Controller that extends Sprite
When mouse move e get this error
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
The problem is the stage reference.
But why?

It is most likely because the code executes before the object is fully setlled into its home. What you probably need to do is add an event listener for the event Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE in your MyController class and use that to trigger any code that involves targeting the stage.

On the Payment tab page in the Enter Vendor Credit Memo,the system doesn't display field Invoice Reference to input Invoice document number of an invoice reference exists.
