Does anybody have ideas on how logminer utility works using this software "SQL Assistant for oracle""SQL Assistant for Oracle" doesn't seem to be a tool provided by Oracle, but a third-party tool. Therefore I suggest you contact their technical support for your inquiry.
As a workaround, as already suggested, you might want to use the DBMS_LOGMNR package to use the LogMiner. It's not that complicated at all and just needs a couple of calls to the DBMS_LOGMNR and optionally DBMS_LOGMNR_D packages. You can check the documentation on how to use it.
If you have Oracle Enterprise Manager you could access the LogMiner interface using the Java Console version prior to 11g.

  • Configuration of Netscape Navigator for Oracle Forms on Netscape 8.12 Ver.

    Dear Forum,
I have the experience of confiugring the Internet Explorer for Oracle Forms Web-deployment. But I just want to know what are all the changes are required to configure the Netscape Navigator for Oracle Forms Web Deployment. I came to know that it needs some changes in .dlls. Please advice me any techincal refereneces in this regard.

    Aashil,
I've a similar configuration: Sun Sparc Solaris 8, Forms 6i Patch 10 and Apache server which comes with Oracle 9i server.
Forms 6i is on his own Oracle home. I have Forms Listener Servlet working.
    Take a look in ../Apache/Jserv/etc/jserv.conf Make sure ApJServMount /servlets /root and ApJServMount /servlet /root
are defined. If you want I could mail you my conf-files. My email-address is [email protected]

Configuration of Listener Servlet with patch 8 on Sun SPARC Solaris
I am trying to install and configure Forms6i Application Server for Sun SPARC Solaris 8 with Patch8.
I am installing application server in /home/oracle/home9iAS, and have set up the development environment in /home/oracle/forms6i.
    1) First i install Forms Server and Reports Server, for that i need to define following env variables
    $ORACLE_HOME is /home/oracle/forms6i
    $ORACLE_BASE is /home/oracle
i am defining them in .profile file in oracle account.
    2) Apply Patch 8
    3) Install Application Server with Minimal Installation
    4) Configure Forms Listener Servlet using http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms/pdf/p8listenerservlet.pdf pdf file, i am following it to the letter.
When i try to access forms listener server using http://hostname:port/servlet/oracle.forms.servlet.ListenerServlet i get an error:
    "Not Found
the requested URL /servlet/oracle.form.servlet.ListenerServlet was not found on this server."
    What can be the reason?

  • Problem with Microsoft ODBC for Oracle Driver

I tried to import table in MS Access with Microsoft ODBC for Oracle Driver, but a msg error appeared:
"Reserved error (-7776); there is no message for this error"
I think the problem is about Microsoft Jet, but i'm not sure.
Does anybody already had this problem?

Given that you're using a Microsoft front-end and a Microsoft ODBC driver, I'm not sure how much help you'll find on this forum. You could try substituting the Oracle ODBC driver to see if that improves anything.

  • Sorting is wrong with Entity Framework for oracle

    Hi,
I've downloaded the Entity Framework for Oracle beta and I found a bug. It's easy to repro:
    - Create a model with a simple table
    - Create a dynamic data web app
    - display the content of your table and try to sort
-> the sql generated is wrong and only sorts on the currently displayed rows and not the entire data.
    Did anyone else notice that?
Edited by: lnu on 14 févr. 2011 05:51

Before ODP.NET beta with EF was available I was working with OracleEFProvider from CodePlex (sample alpha version but works with VS2010).
I found the same issue there. Since I had a source code I managed to find the solution.
In class which implemented the base class DbExpressionVisitor there was a method: public override ISqlFragment Visit(DbSkipExpression e)
I had to add sort clause AFTER visiting the expression (which was done too early in previous code).
As the main idea of DbExpressionVisitor should be the same in case of Oracle provider, this can be the reason of improper sorting in queries with paging.

  • SUNWsprox package with solaris 10 for Oracle 10g Installation....

    Hi
I am in problem with a Solaris 10 package "SUNWsprox - Sun workshop Bundled 64-bit make library" for Oracle 10g Installation. I checked the CDs (In the /.../products) but did't found this packege. Can any one tell me please can I go without this package or where I found this package...Please Its very URGENT for me....
    Thanks
    Mohammed Tanvir

    Hi...
I had the same issue, but found out that the SUNWsprox was replaced by SUNWsprot. The OUI 10.1 Release 2 will 'pass' as the doco in the Oracle quick install guide is wrong (as well as 10g Application Server).
The only way to lay a 10g Release database on Solaris 10 is to lay the software doen only, then cd in the .../bin directory, step your Rdbms ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID, LD_LIBRARY_PATH and of course the DISPLAY (is X-windowing into the server), and run dbca manually. Oracle 10g is a bit buggy.

  • Problem with SQL Statement for Result Filtering

    Dear Visual Composer Experts,
Here is another Question from me: I have a SQL Query that is working as the data service
    Select AB.AgingBandID, AB.AgingBand,
Sum(Case when priority='Emergency' then '1' Else 0 End) as [Emergency],
Sum(Case when priority='Ugent' then '1' Else 0 End) as Ugent,
Sum(Case when priority='High' then '1' Else 0 End) as High,
Sum(Case when priority='Medium' then '1' Else 0 End) as Medium,
Sum(Case when priority='Low' then '1' Else 0 End) as Low
from DimAgingBand AB left outer join
(Select AgingBandID , priority , yeardesc
from vNotifications where YearDesc = (select year(getdate())-1)) as vN
    on AB.AgingBandID=vN.AgingBandID
    where AB.AgingBandID<>'1'
    Group by  AB.AgingBandID, AB.AgingBand
    Order by AB.AgingBandID
That would return me a table as in the following:
         Agingband     E     U     H     M     L
         < 1week     0     0     0     0     1
         1 - 2 weeks     0     0     0     0     0
         2 - 4weeks     0     0     0     0     1
    > 1month     8     2     1     1     6
Now that I would like to add some parameters to filter the result, so I modify the query and put it in the SQL Statement input port of the same data service. The query is like this:
"Select AB.AgingBandID, AB.AgingBand,Sum(Case when priority='Emergency' then '1' Else 0 End) as [Emergency],Sum(Case when priority='Ugent' then '1' Else 0 End) as Ugent,Sum(Case when priority='High' then '1' Else 0 End) as High,Sum(Case when priority='Medium' then '1' Else 0 End) as Medium,Sum(Case when priority='Low' then '1' Else 0 End) as Low from DimAgingBand AB left outer join (Select AgingBandID , priority , yeardesc from vNotifications where YearDesc like '2009%' and Branch like '" & if(STORE@selectedBranch=='ALL', '%', STORE@selectedBranch) & "' and MainWorkCentre like '%') as vN on AB.AgingBandID=vN.AgingBandID where AB.AgingBandID<>'1' Group by AB.AgingBandID, AB.AgingBand Order by AB.AgingBandID"
However this input port query keeps giving me error as NullPointerException. I have actually specified a condition where the query will run if only STORE@selectedBranch != u2018u2019.
I have other filtering queries working but they are not as complicated query as this one. Could it be possible that query in the input port cannot handle left outer join?
    Could it be anything else?
    Help is very much appreciated.
    Thanks & Regard,
    Sarah

    Hi,
Thank you very much for your replys. I've tested if the dynamic value of the condition is integer, it's OK
But if the ClassID type is not integer, it's string, I write  a SQL Statement like:
    "Select DBADMIN.Class.ClassName from DBADMIN.Class where DBADMIN.Class.ClassID = '1' "
    or with dynamic condition:
    "Select DBADMIN.Class.ClassName from DBADMIN.Class where DBADMIN.Class.ClassID = '"&@ClassID&"'"
or I write the SQL Statement for insert/update/delete data,
    I always have errors.
I've tested if the dynamic value of the condition is integer, it's OK
Do you know this problem ?
Thank you very much & kindly regards,

  • Reference for writing COBOL prog with DB2 with ATMI calls for Oracle Tuxedo

    Hi..
Am using IBM COBOL for AIX 2.0.0 on Oracle Tuxedo10g R3..
And for database IBM DB2 Version 8.2..

I also need the connectivity from cobol-DB2 to Tuxedo..
Can anyone send me link for the same?

Am searching for the similar kind..
    Thanks in advance..
    Edited by: user8103349 on Mar 19, 2009 8:43 PM

    Hi,
Hopefully someone has some DB2 COBOL code to share. But in any case, using Tuxedo with COBOL and DB2 should be very similar to simply writing normal DB2 COBOL programs. The major difference is that Tuxedo will take care of making the connection to the database and should normally be allowed to perform all transaction management.
From a configuration standpoint you'll need to add the appropriate line in the Tuxedo RM file that lists how Tuxedo needs to link DB2 XA libraries into the application. The connection information is provided in the OPENINFO string passed along to the TMS that you need to build for DB2 with the buildtms command, and finally you'll need to build your servers with the -r switch to tell Tuxedo which XA libraries need to be linked into the application.

Why there are 2 into clauses? You need to change your query to fetch all columns first and then use into to fetch into variables.

  • Guaranteed restore point Vs catdwgrd.sql downgrade for oracle 12c

I understand that we have two ways to downgrade (assuming compatible parameter is not modified) when we upgrade a 11.2.0.3 database to oracle 12c.
I am curious to know advantages of catdwgrd.sql when compared to guaranteed restore point downgrade. I think guaranteed restore point looks very simple
compared to catdwgrd.sql. Also I think oracle doesn't exactly bring the database back to the same state when we use catdwgrd.sql whereas
guranteed restore point brings us back to the same state.

  • Refining SQL Replacement for Oracle's WM_CONCAT Function (Pivoting Rows to column)

    Greetings,
I am moving a query from Oracle SQL to Microsoft SQL and am having some difficulty with the transition. Part of my code (listed here) used to pivot the data and display RESULT_VALUE
by the CPI_SEQ . In Oracle this was easy to do by using the function: WM_CONCAT.
I have been ‘Googling’ for the non-Oracle way to achieve this and stumbled on to the “STUFF((SELECT…)”
method. This almost works for me except that it places everything into one cell, whereas
I need to concatenate  RESULT_VALUE by CPI_SEQ (the CPI_SEQ is the unique ID). The current code gives me this:
    RESULTS
    Anxiety, Depression, Diabetes,
    COPD, ARDS

  • SQL Interface for Oracle in Windows 64 bit

    Hi there,
Is there anyone ever trying to upload data from oracle (relational sql) to the essbase on Windows 64 bit platform ? I've read the documentation about setting SQL Interface by using the ODBC Connection ( using DataDirect Library ), but it seems that I can not see the DataDirect lib in the ODBC Control Panel (64bit), but it is installed in the 32 bit ODBC (odbcad32.exe).
However when I try to add new connection using MERANT OEM 5.2 64-BIT Oracle ODBC driver (DataDirect lib), it raise error : "the setup routines for the MERANT OEM 5.2 64-BIT Oracle ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 193"..
    please advice any one.... thanks

    I got it to work!!!
The reg setting that is provided is for the wrong version of the dll. Notice the 5.1 and then you only have 5.2 directories.
The files in the reg are also wrong they are for the example below. arora21.dll (stated) vs arora22.dll (one's provided)
    Some easy tweaks.
I modified the reg with the following and presto. It worked!! To make it better you can change the OEM 5.1 to OEM 5.2.. Good luck

  • Formating a password with special charactres (#$%&) for oracle

I am using executeQuery statement to alter a user password that has special charactres in it, but having a difficult time with the format, could someone show me how to do that?
    Thanks
    cheers

You shouldn't be mucking about with escapes - Oracle
has already written all of the code, as have most of
the thin driver providers.String update =
    "Alter user ? identified by ?";
    PreparedStatement pstmt =
    connection.prepareStatement(update);
    pstmt.setString(1, userName);
    pstmt.setString(2, password);
    pstmt.executeUpdate();
    ...Using PreparedStatements is always your
best bet for avoiding bad escapes and SQL injection
problems. Is that what the OP meant? Good for you.

  • Data Source errors with OLE DB for Oracle

We tried to install Oracle 10g 10.2.0.1.0 x64 Client for Windows on:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition Service Pack 1 (64 bit)
    SqlServer 2000 Enterprise Edition SP4 (32-bit)
When trying to create a Data Source (from a UDL file or Analysis Services) we get the following errors:
"Provider is no longer available. Ensure that the Provider is installed properly"
"Test connection failed because not all properties can be set. Window Handle (BAD VALUE)"
The Oracle Client install completed "Successfully" and ODBC connections work fine. Also, tnsping works fine. Just the OLE DB connections are failing.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    J

Maybe you can try the below method to configure the oracle provider for OLEDB.
    1.Open SQL Server Management Studio
Click on the + to expand the tree for the <Machine Name> SQL Server. Where <Machine Name> is the name of the machine where Microsoft SQL Server is installed on.
The first level of the tree is called <Machine Name> SQL Server,
The second level of the tree is called Linked Servers,
The third level of the tree is called Providers.
a list of Providers are shown.
Right click on the Oracle Provider for OLEDB and select Properties.
Check the check boxes for "Dynamic Parameters" and "Allow InProcess".
