Occasional message "No data to fetch in query" when viewing a webi report

I  am currently working on an exising business Object 3.1 install in which the only user able to access the data in a universe is the Administrator. Permission on all universes and related connection grant data access and view objects permission to all users. Even members of the administrators group are unable to acess data in the webi reports.
If  another member of the administrator imports the Universe with Designer and trie to view a list of values they get the message `No sdata to Fetch` but can see table values. Consequently the only user to be able to use the reports is the administrator.  I am wondeing if the universe were saved without the `save for all users` box ticked before exporting.
I am now out of ideas and waiting to hear from someone with a few,
Thanks for all help in advance.

Hi PG, No allusers regardless of which group they belong to receive the same message "No data to fetch on query". We were led to believing that the problem is on te Universe level because all users except adminisrtator also get the message when trying to display a list of values, but they can see the data if they click on the "Show table Values". I should also mention that when users try to refresh a webi report they can see  and refresh lists of value from the prompt but still get that error message.
Because of the contradictory nature of these symptoms, everyone here is totally confused and we are starting to suspect that it may be some kind of security setup at the database level.

  • Date Filter in BEx Query not applied to Webi Document

    Hi
I have a simple BEx Query on 0MATERIAL - with Article (0MATERIAL) and Created On Date (0CREATEDON) characteristics in the Rows and 1ROWCOUNT key figure in the columns.
If I restrict the BEx Query on 0MATERIAL to a single value, only that particular record is returned when I run the query in WebI - which shows Article and Created On Date.
However, if I restrict the BEx Query to a specific 0CREATEDON date, the WebI report ignores this restriction and returns ALL records in the InfoProvider 0MATERIAL.
If I run the BEx Query in the web, only those records with the particular restricted date are returned, so why does the WebI report ignore the BEx Query date restriction?  Any ideas where I am going wrong?
    Thanks
    Anton

    Hi Victor
Thanks for the reply.  It turns out even after refreshing the universe structure and exporting I had to shut down Webi and reopen it for the changes (date restriction) to take effect.
But thanks for the headsup on that bug/SAP note anyway - it is helpful to know.

  • Changes made in Bex query not refelecting in Webi reports BO 4.0

    Hello Every One,
We have made changes in BeX query and these changes are not getting reflected in webi reports.
    - We try to edit the connections.
    - Recreated the new connections and point it the webi report.
We are using BO4.0 patch 2.9.
DO we have to made any setting in BICS or in CMC or there are any parameter need to tkae care while creating the OLAP connections. we are using SSO.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
You shouldn't have to do a "change source" at data provider level, but confirming the object mappings again by repointing webi to the bex query should help.
As i'm sure you know, we are delivering many corrections in this area, for example:
If this concerns a Hierarchy change see ADAPT01607814   (P2.11)
If it concerns change to prompt variables see ADAPT01609491   (P2.12)
Here's the link to the readme for Patch2.12 (out today) https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001362992011E
Out of interest, what change did you make in the bex query specifically ?

  • Report data ( value ... tag) missing in the Webi report retrieved through RestFul Webservice

I am trying the below URL to get the WEBi report from SAP BO using the Rest Webservice support that is now available.
    http://{serverIP:serverPort}/biprws/raylight/v1/documents/{documentId}
I am able to get the report but as I compare the same report response when using SAOP Webservice, there seems to be a mismatch in the response. Here is what I see in the SOAP response:
    </td><td c="1" ><cell  ref="1.E.4t" bid="14" h="26" w="231" pad="6,7" sid="-10"><ct >Some arbitrary value</ct><value type="xs:string">Some arbitrary value</value></cell>
But when I run it through REST, I am missing the <value ..> tag:
    </td><td c="1" ><cell  ref="1.E.4t" bid="14" h="26" w="231" pad="6,7" bt="1" sid="-10"><ct >Some arbitrary value</ct></cell>
Apart from this right at the start of the xml response, I see some property mismatch as well.
    SOAP has this property extra:
    <property name="output.format.xml.valuemode">yes</property>
While REST has these property extra:
    <property name="output.format.xml.option.style">1</property>
    <property name="output.format.xml.styledict.fontplatform">html</property>
    <property name="output.format.xml.td.bandinfo">yes</property>
    <property name="source.selected">data</property>
    <property name="xelement.xml.object">yes</property>
    <property name="xelement.xml.object.usemap">yes</property>
    <property name="xelement.xml.object.usersupportedformat">image/png</property>
    I am not sure if:
the <value ...> tag miss is because of these missing/extra properties or
current REST support has some issues
For my application the value tag is a must and I can't do without this, but with REST it seems no way to obtain that.
Any help or pointer(s) in this regard is appreciated!

    Hello Milind,
According to our Product Owner Sam Polichouk, the solution should be available for you in 4.1 SP3, which is currently scheduled for release by the end of March 2014 (subject to change).  The product team recommends that you get the raw, unformatted data values from within the Dataset specific call.  This data contains a type to tell the end user what kind of data it is, so you can format it or use it properly.
The updated documentation for the SDK will be available at SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.1 – SAP Help Portal Page once the Support Pack is publicly released.

  • Dates of images different (incorrect) when viewed in Finder to iPhoto

I want to give to family some images (stills [JPEG] + video [AVI] - all taken on my Pentax camera) to view on their Windows computers. The dates within iPhoto display correctly in the 'Information' window on the left whenever I click on an image. However, whenever I view these same images in Finder (either having 'Exported' the images to a "holding" folder in my Documents folder, or I simply view these same images in iPhoto Library via Finder), the dates are different (incorrect), and there is no consistent pattern in the 'differing' dates. Some images' dates in Finder are vastly different to the date & time the images were shot, and other images display just a few days difference in the dates(?!).
The historical dating of the family images is important for the future, so I really want to be sure that the dates will display correctly for the people viewing the images on their windows computers. As they obviously won't be using iPhoto I would hope that it will still show the correct date when they view the individual stills and raw video footage (not sure how they will view it, but presume I will burning these images to a DVD to share with them). *Can someone advise me if dates of the images will be correct when viewed on the Windows computers?*
    Cheers,
    Lehla

You are confusing the photo date which is part of the iPhoto database and is stored in the EXIF fields of the photo when exported and the file date which is what the finder other file management programs see
As long as you view the photo EXIF dates they will be the same inside of iPhoto and outside of iPhoto - the file date will change each time you create a new file

  • Deletion of Query View in Web Report

    Hi,
I need to provide the functionality to Delete the Query View in the Web Reports.
Please suggest how this can be done.
I am new to web reporting and any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
We have built a template that is extension of standard template 0ADHOC_TABLE provided by SAP. In our template we have added OPEN view and SAVE view APIs mentioned in SAP documentation to provide the features to open a query view and to save a query view. Now we need to provide a feature to delete a query view functionality to users as there were many old saved views that are no longer relevant and needs to be deleted.
Unfortunately the open view screen that opens does not provide feature to delete the query view.
Request your help on this, how did you provide this feature to the users. what did we miss?
For more clarification, I would speak to you please provide me your contact number.

  • In VI Logger, Beginning Of Data button doesn't work when viewing graphs

This button doesn't work correctly when I view logged data. Instead of jumping to the beginning, it jumps to beyond the end of the data. The other 3 buttons work fine (scroll forward and backward and go to end of data).

In order to provide a better answer, it would help if you could post the version of VI Logger you have (if you are not sure, you can find this out in Measurement & Automation Explorer under the Software folder) as well as the operating system you are using.
I am running VI Logger v1.1 on a Windows XP machine and the four buttons all work properly when viewing the graph of logged data. There is a known issue where the behavior you saw, with the "Beginning of Data" button not working, has appeared on a system that runs a German OS. If you are running a comparable OS then this behavior might occur and there is currently no fix for it.
If this is not the case for you then try to provide a little more information on your system and we can look into it further. T
    hank you!

  • Data modeler: Having Maintainable Query for View Creation

    Hi,
I am using SQL Developer 4 and the data modeler. I typically create a view in SQL developer (from a SQL select statement). I then drag and drop the view to the data modeler in order to have it stored for the next time I regererate the database schema from the data modeler. This works and I can see the query for my view when I click Properties on the view in the data modeler. However, the query I see there is logically equivalent (and very similar) but it is hard to read for a programmer as carrier returns are added, the various elements of my where clause are not in the same order as I programmed them, comments (starting with '--') where not transfered with the drag and drop.
I feel I cannot only rely on the version of the view stored in the data modeler to keep my DDL code that creates the view. Maintenance of that code would be too difficult. I feel I will need to keep a separate SQL script (in a separate version control tool) containing the select statement of my view. I would then always need to make my modifications in this select statement, update my view in the database and then drag and drop the result back in the data modeler. This is cumbersome.
Do you have any solution for me? Thanks!

So where it says yes thous are the vendors that people associated with them have to asses and where there's an X thous are the topics that the vendors have to be rated on . So if for example the first guy on the list  jjjjjnn Bixxxxxff will asses TSSA , ORACLE , HP , IBM , MS , SAP  on the topic of Architecture and if you look at the second user itha CCCniah he would rate TSSA , ORACLE , INTERGRAPH on the topics of Relationship and performance  . Any idea how i could data model this to get my table structures right .so that features like completion status could be displayed to the user through APEX which can only be done by a correct data-model i have tried normalization but  i did go anywhere becauce there are so many variations any idea on how you would go about data modeling this would be greatly appreciated thank you     If you would like a better copy of the table my email is    [email protected]

  • Crystal Report Instance - running query when viewing?

    Hi
Why would a Crystal Report that was scheduled and completed success fully try to run the query again when I click on the instance?  Isn't it just suppose to render the report when one clicks on the instance?
    Thanks
    Kim

i think its as i told you before, its something related with the parameters, you can have multiple instances with different parameter values.
and there is many other technical issues, i dunn know if you read about it or not you can revise back the Crystal Report user guide
you can get it from here

  • QUERY when run on WEB and RSRT then RRI show selection screen on receiver.

    Hi,
We have two query: Query 1 and Query 2.
Query 1 can be RRI to Query 2.
The variable for fiscal period and Forecast version are both mandatory. The selection for plan version is optional.
When run this on BEx Analyzer, the jump work smoothly without pop-up of selection screen of the receiver query.
However, when run on RSRT and Web, the selection screen is being pop-up and you need to press execute button before the 2nd query will be shown.
The value of the variables is pass correctly.
Fiscal Period on 1st query is being restricted by two variables.. one interval variable on Free characteristics.. and one single variable on restriction of key figure. The single variable is the one exist and passed on the 2nd query.
       Hope you can help me.

the only thing i can think of on the wbe is a setting for opening windows in tabs or open new window under tools for rsrt not sure, did you try to run it in HTML in rsrt?
it could be setting in SPRO for reporting worse comes to worse open a note with sap.

  • Data discrepancy between Webi Report and same Query fired on SQL Server 2k5

    Hi ,
We are facing an issue in BO XI R2.
We need to run a Webi report in which negative values for forecasting data for year 2011 and 2012 should be displayed.
When we are running this report for negative values, we are getting message u2018There is no data corresponding to this queryu2019.
Then we tried executing the same query on Database. Here at db level we got the correct required result.
So now we are not able to find the reason for data discrepancy .
Why the same query generated by Webi is providing correct data when fired on reporting database and not when running the Webi Report.
Checklist we have gone through for this troubleshooting is-
-Connections of Universe (Is universe pointing to same database or not)
-Any filter condition present at universe level and at report level.
Could anyone please help on this.
    Regards,
    Vaibhav

    Vaibhav,
Have you tried the following when you are in WebI: go under the Edit Query panel, click on the "SQL" icon, and review the query that is getting generated?  At this point you can also click on the "copy" option, then paste this query into your SQL application analyzer and run to see what results are generated.  To me, it sounds like the portion trying to generate the "minus" sign might be getting tripped up causing the disconnect....
    Thanks,
    John

  • No data in Webi report, but data in underying BW Query

I have a Webi report that is built off of a universe that is built off of a BW Query.  When running the Webi report, instead of getting data I get "All Data" under each field in the report, as opposed to the actual data.  I feel like I'm missing  something fairly basic.  Any help would be much appreciated!

Try using the L01 dimensions, not L00.
    Hope this helps.

    Any Ideas?

A couple of tests to run:
    1.  Can you ask the Administrator user to run the report?
    2.  Can the regular user run a query with only one or two objects from the same db/tables?
These should help to give a clearer picture of where the credentials might be missing.  Authorization can be configured on the BOE CMS, but it can also be erroring due to DB access rights.
    - If test 1 fails, then it's probably a DB access rights issue.
    - If only test 2 fails, then it's a CMS credentials issue.
    - If both succeed, but the original query fails, then it's probably a specific object that's causing the problems.  In that case, you'll have to incrementally add or subtract objects to get to the culprit.
