OCP 9i -DBA

Hi,
I would like to complete OCP 9i DBA certification. I have already completed upto OCA. I have the following issues:
1) Is it mandatory to take training before attempting Databse Fundamentals-II exam?
2) If yes, Can we take the training after the completion of course and before submitting the course form to oracle?
3) Can the training be on either of the exams(Databse fundamentals -II , Oracle Performance Tuning)?
please help.!

Remember if you have previously obtained training for your OCA this may well be accepted.

Probably the biggest danger for you is unwittingly taking training from an unauthorized institution that does not count for training. Then you would have to pay more money for more training.

OCP Applications DBA certificate

Please,,
I already have Developer 10g Course in NewHorizons ( Oracle partener )
& DBA 10g Course in Legend Technology ( Not Oracle partener ).
But i have OCP Developer 10g & OCP DBA 10g Certificates.
If i need to be OCP Applications DBA.
It is must to attend the course in Oracle partener center first then attend the exam?
Or i can attend the exam only to have the certificate?

... pls guide me .... If you are looking to become a good DBA this is not a good question to ask. But perhaps I am being a little unfair. From what I know of you I would suggest 11g. For others I might suggest differently.
In the interim keep focused on 1z0-147 and get in as much practice as possible. Knowledge and experience are in the end more important in my opinion.

Cleared OCP 10G DBA Track not updated in Certview still after 48hours

I have cleared OCP10G DBA on 25 August 2012 but still its not showing in my certview account after 48 hours it will get updated and my test id is same
please somebody clarify on it (I want to download Logo)
Also I am fresher OCP so how to get job in ORACLE ocean because every company asks 3 to 5 yrs exp. and I am having experience from different field almost 6 yrs
what one should add in to resume to get job offers? what one should do to get job in Oracle field as support first and then graduate to DBA job

I have cleared OCP10G DBA on 25 August 2012 but still its not showing in my certview account after 48 hours it will get updatedTest results will generally be in Certview within 48 hours, although I'd generally wait 3-5 days before worrying too much about that. Validating the OCP certification is a different prospect from showing a passing test score.
Have you completed the hands-on training required for the 10G OCP? Have you submitted the Hands-on training forms? Has Oracle Education verified those forms? Until all the answer to all three of these questions is yes, you will not be an OCP10G DBA.

OCP 11g DBA..is globalization topic included??

Hi,
I am planning to appear for OCP 11g Admin II exam (1z0-053) soon. I have attended the admin II workshop a while ago and they taught the topic Globalization.
However when i check the exam topic given here in

the topic globalization is not there.
So does anybody know whether i need to prepare for that topic or not??? I have already sent an email to ocp exam email id and waiting for a reply.

Thanks.The reference you have is authorative. If the topic isnt there the question shouldn't be on the exam. It was/is in the 10g DBA exams ... and I have a feeling it was moved from 1z0-042 to 1z0-043 (or vice versa) at some point ... be that at the beta stage or a subsequent exam update.
The Oracle Certificatin exams will often mirror an Oracle University class .... but it is not a requirement one is a subset of the other.

OCP 8i DBA Upgrade to OCP 10G DBA - What study material to use

Hi,
As a OCP DBA 8i I want to get certified against 10g. What study materials could you suggest I would use to achieve this?

Could somebody recommend these or is there something better on the market?

Hello I'm Very greatful if any body can send me about the

there are practice tests available from a link there, they are not expensive and are developed by an Oracle partner in synch with the real exams.
no other assessments or practice tests are accurate.

if the ILT material that you have has the same objetives
according to the exam, it is going to be enough. I am OCP DBA9i and I took my courses in Oracle University and apart from that Now I am trainner in Oracle University and I know a lot about Oracle Test for geting the certifies.

1Z0-045 (for 8i OCPs or Gold DBA 10g)

Hello Gurus, OTN members,
Please clear my doubt about upgrade certification exam.
I am Oracle 8i OCP certified (DBA track); I want to upgrade myself from 8i to 10g; for which I selected paper code "1Z0-045" title "Oracle Database 10g: New Features for Oracle8i OCPs"
I have enrolled myself for it, but at oracle test center, they use OTC tool which connects to pearsonave, where I log on & can select my exam paper code.
They are not using perasonave web browser to conduct the examination.
The reason they use OTC tool so as they need to give the voucher number instead they put order number.
Now, the issue is with this OTC tool, I can see the exam code "1Z0-045" however the exam title reflects as "Gold DBA 10g" (it NOWHERE shows title "Oracle Database 10g: New Features for Oracle8i OCPs") -- But it (title) is there in the pearsonave website.+
I am NOT interested to write this exam title, but according to Oracle test center it is the same & will have NO effect on upgrade path & the certificate.
My purpose of giving this exam is to upgrade myself from 8i OCP to 10g OCP; I am doubting if the syllabus is same and is this really a correct exam code+title.
I request you to please suggest me what I should do & confirm if these paper code, title are same or different.
PS: There are some oracle partner institute which have no issue conducting exam from pearsonave website after providing the voucher name for the same paper code + title "1Z0-045 Oracle Database 10g: New Features for Oracle8i OCPs".

Get the practice test for exam 1Z0-007 from http://www.selftestsoftware.com/ which is that standard.

Maximum Day Limit for OCP

Hi,
I have cleared the exams 1Z0-001 Introduction to Oracle: SQL and PL/SQL & 1Z0-023 Oracle8i: Architecture and Administration in the year 2001.
Now I have cleared 1Z0-024 Oracle8i: Performance Tuning this month.
My doubt is will I be able to become OCP 8i DBA if I clear the exams 1Z0-026 Oracle8i: Network Administration & 1Z0-025 Oracle8i: Backup and Recovery or need I do 1Z0-001 & 1Z0-023 again to become OCP.
I would like to know whether there is a maximum time-limit for completing the 5 papers of OCP 8i DBA.

Looking at the source for 1.6.0_15 the default is 8192 and, other than the buffer size being greater than zero, there are no other constrains on the size so the limit will be the largest positive integer. Of course you may well run out of memory trying to allocate this amount of memory but ...

9i oca to 11g ocp

1-) What is the correct path to upgrade 9i OCA to 11g OCP?
2-) Is it compulsary to take lessons, or is it enough to pass the exams?

The first time you wish to achieve a DBA OCP certiifcation at some level you will need to, as part of the requirement, submit a hands-on course and get verified that you have attended a course suitable for that certification.
This list is different for 9i DBA OCP , 10g DBA OCP and 11g DBA OCP. (To upgrade from 9i DBA OCP to 10/11g DBA then you dont need a course).
You can choose to believe me or not, or attempt to see if you can wriggle round it, but don't cry if you find yourself not receiving a certification even though you've passed the exams.
- The choice of courses are quite wide, so those you are already sufficently familiar with the exam topics can choose a course that will cover useful topics that are new to them.

You have a couple of options:
1. you can go ahead and finish your path to 9i DBA OCP and then upgrade to 11g DBA OCP
- pass exam 032
- pass exam 033
- complete training
- complete course submission form
- receive 9i DBA OCP
- pass upgrade exam 055
- receive 11g DBA OCP
2. you can do the full path for 11g DBA OCP (which will include first obtaining 11g DBA OCA)
- pass exam 007, 047, or 051 (since you already have 9i DBA OCA, you probably have already passed one of these exams, or the 001 exam which will exempt you from repeating this step)
- pass exam 052
- receive 11g DBA OCA
- pass exam 053
- complete training
- complete course submission form
- receive 11g DBA OCP
