Office for Mac Word opens with Document 2 pages per view

how can i make it open 1 page per view, instead of 2 pages, as I want to read it and one page is easy, but 2 pages is to small.
what is the setting to make it 1 page per page, also how to you enlarge it if i want to

As with a lot of software, it depends on the version of Word, and what features the author used.
Technically, Office 2010 for Windows and 2011 for Mac are supposed to be feature compatible. As are Office 2007 for Windows, and 2008 for Mac.
However, if a person using Office 2010 / 2011 used a feature that only exists in that version and sends the file to someone using Office 2007 / 2008, they would very likely have trouble opening the file, or having it display as intended.

MSOffice for Mac WORD docs defaulting to Pages docs

After installing OS X Mavericks, my MSOffice for Mac WORD docs are defaulting to Pages. Also have problem with pdf docs. Anyone have a solution to keep MS WORD as the default or docs saved as WORD docs? Solutions for the pdf problems?

I think you are right. It appears to be solved, but new issues have popped up constantly since I upgraded, so I'll see what tmr brings. Thanks for your help. Now I'll work on solving the issues with pdfs.

Office for Mac X compatibility with Lion

Hi guys,
My company is equipped with Office for Mac X (came out in 2002, fairly obsolete I know), and we're trying to know whether we'll be able to use the software on the new OS Lion (until now, we've been able to use it no matter what new OS we have been using)

IMHO the chances are probably slim at best.
I always love companies that are so cheap as to not upgrade their software until forced to do it. Then they whine and moan about the expense and difficulty to do it a decade ot so to late.

HT2476 how to avoid office for mac from opening at startup

In spite of not having the Office for Mac apps selected in Login items they keep opening at startup. How can get that to stop and open only manually?

Right-click (control-click) the Office for Mac apps and select Options. Un-check "Open at Login".
Next time you restart your Mac, also un-check the "Reopen windows when logging back in" check box. Make it look like this:

I upgraded to Mac 10.5.8, but neither my 2004 Office for Mac not Acrobat 5.0 are functioning properly. Should I uninstall and reinstall or do I need to upgrade?

Office for mac - Word error message "insufficient memory"??

I'm not sure if I'm in the right help section, so apologies of not and point me in the right direction?
My problem: I copied about 2 pages of text in a Microsoft Word (for mac) document, opened a blank document, and attempted to paste the text there. The text transferred, but when I attempted to save the document Microsoft closed, without saving, and offered to send an error report.
Alternately, I copied the text, closed Word, re-opened it to a blank document, and again attempted pasting the text. This time, an error message pops up that says "Insufficient memory. Save document now." after which it will let me save the document, but won't let me paste anything. So confused.

(I also emptied my trash, just to free up some space and see if that helped, but even though its been ages since I've done it it didn't seem to make a difference.)

Just to check if it worked, I opened the original document and selected Save As, and it allowed me to save it under a different name and re-open the doc, and then edit and save it - so I can go ahead with my work, but it would still be good to resolve the issue.
Hopefully just updating will take care of it. Just remember than an "insufficient memory" error never means insufficient memory. It means the program is buggy. While very powerful, Office is somewhat on the buggy side. It is updated pretty frequently however.
If you continue to have problems, there may be some specific issue that is causing your problem and can be fixed. The best place to investigate that would probably be Microsoft's own support forums.

How do I get Office for Macs to open

I really don't know how this works and I don't have the energy.

Do you already have Office installed? If so, what is happening when you try to open it?
If you have Microsoft Office 2004 or earlier and are getting messages saying that PowerPC software cannot be opened, you need to upgrade to a newer version of Office. Either 2008 or 2011 will work.

You will need to ask Microsoft to see if they are making an app version of it. Have you had a look at Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD ?

My question is this...if I use Office for Mac and save the document on my MAC OS, am I able to retrieve that word document through Windows? Or, will I just have to buy Office for Windows? Will office for mac be compatible with "versions", the new feature from os lion?

Incompatible Changjie Input Method for Macbook Pro Office for Mac

I have Chinese word input problems when I use my Macbook Pro 13" Retina OS X and Microsoft Office for Mac Standard 2011 with Service Pack 2.
When I use Changjie input method to input some Chinese words like "面", "屬", "應", these words cannot be shown with correct input methods. They can only be shown by Quick input method. It is very strange. No such problems exist when I use my iPod, iPad or iPhone 5. Please advise. Thank you!

屬＝尸卜卜戈
應＝戈土心
These words cannot be shown by the above methods.

MS Office for MAC

Dear All,
Recently i bought a MAC Pro and also MS Office for MAC 2011 along with that.
i am using a gmail server for email and configured to get all my old emails to this outlook from my earlier windows based machine outlook.
Now the outlook in the MAC is not working ok and is showing following error
"An unknown error has occurred in Outlook"
When i check for details it shows error code 17199.
Please help me resolve this error since am not able to use my Outlook because of this.

Pages won't open word documents created in Office for Mac

I'm using system 10.10 with the latest version of Pages. Although I've read that if you right click on a word document you should get the option to open it with Pages, and it should be translated. But I get a message that the document can not be opened. I created it with Microsoft Office for Mac 2004 using Word.
I've been able to email those documents to people who use PC's and they have always been able to open my documents, so why not Pages?

I tried that, but no luck. I also tried copying my Office for Mac 2004 onto my new iMac 12,2 but that didn't work. because those programs won't run in the Yosemite operating system. I see that there is supposed to be a new Office for Mac 2015 version, but nobody seems to know if or when that will be released. I may purchase Officer for Mac 2011, but before that purchase I thought I'd ask Microsoft if the 2011 version would open up Work files created by the 2004 edition. Their support line put me in touch with someone in India who tried to be helpful, but I'm not convinced he really knows the answer. He tried to persuade me to get Open Office, but that's not what I want. I'd like to be able to compose documents on the Mac platform and send them as attachments to emails for people who I know are using PCs. I don't like that extra step you have to do through in Pages to export as a PC document. The same for Excel and Power Point.
