OIM 11g: Entity Adapter on custom field.

Hello,
I wrote a pre-insert, pre-update entity adapter for a custom form field (SJSDS connector). I defined a adapter variable of type string that will be
resolved at runtime. I was hoping to map this variable to the "User Type" field on the User Definition.
When I try to map this variable to the User Definition, the "User Type" field does not show in the list.
The list is being filtered based on the type of field and "User Type" is of type List of Values.
How can I get around this issue? The adapter factory does not allow me to set my variable to type List Of Values.
Regards,
Sunny

Following are the the list of mappings. The ones wth similar names are easy to guess. Notice that USR_COUNTRY is missing in the list. I have requested Oracle to log a bug for this and for any other missing fields. If accepted this should be available in the next patch.

  • OIM 11g Entity Adapters

    Hi all,
    I have developed an Entity Adapter using Oracle Identity Manager Design Console which generates different account user ids against a user defined field on Process Form.
    Here I'll provide more details about my scenario.
    SCENARIO*
    a. OIM version: 11.1.1.5.0
    b. Process Form fields (Siebel Process Form):
    - User ID
    - First Name
    - Last Name
    .... [any other out of the box Siebel Connector field]
    - Anonymous Flag (this is a user defined field on Siebel Process Form)
    c. Entity Adapter
    - this adapter has an input variable which is Process Form user defined field "+Anonymous Flag+"
    - if "+Anonymous Flag+" is checked (true) then the adapter sets the return value to "*Anonymous*"
    - else if "+Anonymous Flag+" is uncheked (false) then the adapter sets the return value to "*NOT Anonymous*"
    - the adapter return variable is mapped to Process Form "+User ID+"
    - NOTE: the adapter return values are only for testing pourpose. In the future, the adapter should return two different syntax for User ID.
    For example in case of Anonymous Flag checked, account User ID should be +<surname>+ + "+_+" + +<name>+ + +<random_number>+; while in case of Anonymous Flag unchecked, account User ID should be <+company_name+> + <+random_number+>
    d. Access Policies
    - an access policy "+AP_for_Anonymous+" linked with a role "+ROLE_for_Anonymous+" that sets "+Anonymous Flag+" to checked (true)
    - an access policy "+AP_for_NOT_Anonymous+" linked with a role "+ROLE_for_NON_Anonymous+" that sets "+Anonymous Flag+" to unchecked (false)
    RESULTS*
    Assigning one of roles "+ROLE_for_Anonymous+" or "+ROLE_for_NON_Anonymous+", on Process Form, user defined field "+Anonymous Flag+" is valorized correctly, but Entity Adapter doesn't seems to work. In fact Process Form User ID remains empty.
    QUESTIONS*
    1. Are Entity Adapters associated with accounts supported in OIM 11g? I found a couple of posts that assert that Entity Adapters don't exist in OIM 11g (Event handlers are not getting invoked in oim 11g. or that state Entity Adapters are not supported with the User Form (Issue in adapters mapping in OIM 11g About this I found Entity Adapter Oracle documentation (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e14309/creadp.htm#BABDHECI)
    2. If Entity Adapters are not applicabile to my scenario, can I use Event Handlers? If yes, what are the entity types that I can specify in event handler metadata xml file? For "event handler metadata xml file" I mean the following
    <action-handler class="com.test.sample" entity-type=????? operation="CREATE" name="Sample" stage="postprocess" order="1007" sync="TRUE"/>3. If Entity Adapters are not applicabile to my scenario, what are the operations that I can specify in event handler metadata xml file?
    Thank for your help,
    Daniele

    Entity Adapter still exist in 11g. Yes, you can use Event Handler .
    But why don't you use Process task/prepopulate adapter for your scenario. Try below
    1. You have some condition on which role is assigned. Based on same condition populate this Anonymous/ Not Anonymous(true/false) at user profile.
    2. write a pre-populate adapter to generate User ID. pass parameters Anonymous flag along with other user profile attribute(first name, last name..etc.) . Here based on flag you will be able to decide User ID.
    3. attach this pre-populate with process form.
    4. already you have two access policy which is fine. just edit both and remove the Anonymous flag value else can leave it as it is.
    Note: for populating Anonymous flag on user profile create a new UDF and try to populate in trusted recon.else write post process event handler for same which will execute before access policy. I mean the order of evethandler should be between 1003 to 1008
    If you have doubt let me know

  • OIM 11g R2: Delete User UDF fields

    Hi all,
    I installed and configured OIM 11g R2. In this environment I created an UDF for User entity.
    Here the steps that I followed:
    - created a sanbox
    - opened User Form
    - added a custom field named "MyCustomField". The type field is Text.
    Now, due to a mistake during UDF creation, I have to delete it.
    I found this post (OIM 11gR2 - Unable to remove UDF which describe how to delete an UDF field.
    The post gives these instructions:
    - export the sandbox
    - remove UDF occurences in xml files
    - import the sanbox
    I followed the instructions and at the and I checked the result: the UDF field does not exist in the User form, but the associated database field still exits in database.
    My question is: how I can delete the database filed without create database inconsistency?
    Thanks in advance,

  • OIM 11g API access to custom Organization attributes

    Hi,
    I have added a couple of user defined fields to Organization via the Design Console (column names are "ACT_UDF_CONSULTANT" and "ACT_UDF_DEVELOPER"). They display in the Admin console and I can enter and save values against them. In my postprocess custom event handler when I attempt to read these values via the OrganizationManager:
         OrganizationManager orgManager = Platform.getService(OrganizationManager.class);
         Set<String> retAttrs = new HashSet<String>();
         retAttrs.add(OrganizationManagerConstants.AttributeName.ORG_NAME.getId());
         retAttrs.add("ACT_UDF_CONSULTANT");
         retAttrs.add("ACT_UDF_DEVELOPER");
         Organization org = orgManager.getDetails(orgKey, retAttrs, false);
    I get:
    <Error> <oracle.iam.identity.orgmgmt.impl> <IAM-3051005> <The organization search operation failed.

         at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597)
    etc
    Am I able to read these UDFs in my handler?
    Thanks

    When using the OrganizationManager it seems to expect the Label of the UDF to be passed in, not the Column Name. I have used this successfully both in adapters and event handlers.

  • Oim reconciliation not update after adding custom fields

    In Oracle Identity Manager 11.1.2 with connector
    Connector for Oracle Internet Directory Release 11.1.1
    I reconciliated users LDAP to oim, and after I add custom fields for target reconciliation, and I try to update these users with the new custom fields resend reconciliation event, this new custom fields displays in the event reconciliation page and do not in the user form for LDAP.
    I already create the new form with the news custom fields associated with the application Instance.

    Solution:
    FVC (Form Version Control Utility) comes with OIM which updates the form which are associated with existing users.
    Using the Form Version Control Utility - 11g Release 2 (11.1.2)
    OR
    Update PROCESS_FORM_TABLE set PROCESS_FORM_TABLE_VERSION =(Select SDK_ACTIVE_VERSION from SDK where SDK_NAME='PROCESS_FORM_TABLE');COMMIT;NOTE:Replace PROCESS_FORM_TABLE with actual process form i.e. "UD_XXX"

  • Help required in OIM 11g

    Hi Experts,
    I have to define Custom Admin Roles like "Customer Admin", "Employee Admin" ..in my OIM 11g.
    So that Customer admin can search only for customers..and Employee Admin Can search for only Employees...
    I have two organization: for eg: One is "CustomerOrg" and "EmployeeOrg"
    I have created two authorization policy for this and asigned "Customer Admin" & "Employee Admin" groups accordingly.
    I then created a new user and assigned him "Employee Admin" Role.
    After that once the user is trying to create a user, he is unable to fill the Organiztion value field in the Create User form.
    He is unable to search Organization too...which looks like some permission./access issue.
    I dont want to give any OOTB alreadt existing system admin Roles to the user.
    Please suggest, how can my Admin User create a user by filling organization info(Which is appearning blank once admin is searchuing).
    Quick help will be appreciated.

    You need to make your admin groups administrators of the organizations. That is how user searches work in OIM. It's based on access to organizations.

    Hi,
    We are planing to upgrade OIM 9.1.0.1849 to OIM 11g, We have some custom forms, Adapters and Lookups, I would like to know if there is any direct path to upgrade OIM to the latest version.
    We were told some time back that Oracle will release a patchset will will allow us to upgrade to OIM 11g. Can anyone let us know if it is possible or not and if such a patchset is release or not.
    Thanks & regards,

    Hi,
    Thanks for the information. Do you have any idea when it will release and if it is going to be possible to upgrade from OIM 9.1.X to 11g or shall we start looking into doing a fresh installation of 11g.

  • OIM 11g r1 custom field in simple user search result

    Good morning,
    i need to visualize a custom field in the OIM simple user search result table. At the moment, when a simple user search is performed, the returned attribute is only the "Display Name".
    For the advanced user search result table, is possible to add other fields modifying the Search Results table configuration in Advanced->User configuration->Search Configuration.
    How can i do the same the for simple user search result?
    Thank you.

    Yes, i tried to add my custom attribute to both Simple and Adv search result table, but without luck. Only Display Name column attribute is shown when a simple search is performed.

  • Unable to invoke Custom PostProcessEventHandler in OIM 11g R2

    Hi,
    I am working with OIM 11g R2 .I created an custom PostProcessEventHandler to trigger on modify user operation.
    I created a jar file of custom class as xyz.jar
    I created an plugin.xml as:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <oimplugins>
    <plugins pluginpoint="oracle.iam.platform.kernel.spi.EventHandler">
    <plugin pluginclass="com.xyz.DisablePostProcessEventHandler" version="1.0" name="DisablePostProcessEventHandler">
    </plugin>
    </plugins>
    </oimplugins>
    I made an xyz.zip of plugin.xml and lib/xyz.jar
    I registered the xyz.zip by placing zip file in plugins directory.
    I created an EventHandlers.xml as below:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
    <eventhandlers xmlns="http://www.oracle.com/schema/oim/platform/kernel"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"

So I made a form that contains a field named "Admin Group", made a process for this form that contains a manual task "manual create user", in assignment tab of this task I'm using a task assignment adapter. This adapter has one input parameter - Group name using what I want to find a group key. So the problem is in mapping this parameter. I expected to find my "Admin Group" field and map to it, but i didn't find that. How can I get information from this field?
    Regards
    Anton Litvin

    I think you have created Object Form. Are you seeing Object Data while mapping.
    Create one process form. Populate Process Form Field using Data Flow under Process Definition.
    While mapping you'll see Process data to map with your Admin Group.
    Sorry don't know how they have handled in OIM 11g... Above is for 10g.

  • Custom Pre Process Event Handler in OIM 11g for middle initials

    Hi,
    I am trying to congiure a Custom Pre Process Event Handler for generating middle name in OIM 11g and I am following the steps as given in metalink ID: *1262803.1*
    Even after successfully performing all the steps I am not able to get the middle initials in Admin Console when I create a new user.
    1) Directory structure for the application that I have created through JDeveloper.

    |-- CustomProject.jpr
    |-- classes
    | `-- com
    | `-- example

    | `-- CustomPreProcessEventHandler.class
    `-- src
    `-- com
    `-- example
    `-- custompph
    `-- CustomPreProcessEventHandler.java
    2) Directory structure for Plugins directory
    My Plugin.xml :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <oimplugins>
    <plugins pluginpoint="oracle.iam.platform.kernel.spi.EventHandler">
    <plugin pluginclass="com.example.custompph.CustomPreProcessEventHandler"
    version="1.0" name="CustomPreProcessEventHandler" />
    </plugins>
    </oimplugins>
    plugin/
    |-- lib
    | `-- com
    | `-- example
    | `-- custompph
    | `-- CustomPreProcessEventHandler.class
    |-- middlename.zip
    `-- plugin.xml
    Copied the middlename.zip in the plugin folder in OIM_HOME and registered it successfully.
    3) Created a EventHandlers file and imported it successfully using importmetadata.
    My EventHandlers.xml:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
    <eventhandlers>
    <!-- Custom preprocess event handlers -->
    <action-handler
    class="com.example.custompph.CustomPreProcessEventHandler"
    entity-type="User"
    operation="CREATE"
    name="CustomPreProcessEventHandler"
    stage="preprocess"
    order="10"
    sync="TRUE"/>
    </eventhandlers>
    I checked the logs as well but could not find something which can help me to proceed.
    Also please advise is their any mapping that I need to do in *"Design Console"*
    Please advise !!!!!
    Thanks

    My lib file contains the package as mentioned in the metalink.
    Heirarchy in Plugin folder :
    1) plugin.xml
    2) Lib ( lib contains 3 folders : com/example/custompph; And inside custompph is my CustomPreProcessEventHandler.class file)
    You mean to say i should not copy the entire package in lib but only the jar file of the CustomPreProceessEventHandler.class* file.
    If i put only a .jar file in lib i get the following error.
    "Error occured during the use of plugin registering utility. The plugin zip does not contain the definition of plugin class com.example.custompph.CustomPreProcessEventHandler"
    Thanks

  • OIM 11g: OIM User "Notes" field

    Does anyone know if anything has changed from 9.1x to 11g with regard to the Users.Note attribute? We have a unit test that reads and tries to set "Users.Note" via the tcUserOperationsIntf.updateUser() method. This test works fine against OIM 9.1x, but fails against OIM 11g with a tcAPIException with the message that "Users.Note" is not a valid attribute name. The Users.Note field is defined as a field lookup and exists in the database (USR_NOTE), so I'm wondering what changed.
    Any ideas?

  • Validating Date fields in Self Registration page in OIM 11g

    Hi
    I have 2 custom date fields(Start Date, End Date) in Self Registration page in OIM 11g.
    I need to do validation on these fields, like difference between start date and end date should not be more than 3 months.
    I should show a popup message to user whenever start date and end date is more than 3 months.
    How to achieve this?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hello!
    Sorry bring up this topic again, but I have faced a "curious" situation. My validator code is:
        public void validate(RequestData reqData) throws InvalidRequestDataException {
            List<RequestEntity> requestEntities = reqData.getTargetEntities();
            if (requestEntities != null && !requestEntities.isEmpty()) {
                for (RequestEntity requestEntity : requestEntities) {
                    List<RequestEntityAttribute> attributes = requestEntity.getEntityData();
                    for (RequestEntityAttribute attribute : attributes) {
                        if (attribute.getName().equals("CPF")) {
                            if (attribute.getValue().equals("12345678900")) {
                                throw new InvalidRequestDataException("Invalid CPF");
            (new oracle.iam.requestactions.plugins.datavalidator.CreateUserDataValidator()).validate(reqData);
        }This is still in testing, but have you guys noticed the last line?
    It works nicely, is it normal? If it is, is there any reason for my exception just been raised when I submit the request? (for example, if the user provides a duplicated e-mail it rises before mine.
