OIM 11g Triggers
Hi,
I have created a task in PD and a lookup entry with same task name. The issue is the lookup is not calling the task on changing the entries in the usr form. Kindly help.
The task name in PD is same as that in the lookup. also saw that the value for the system attribute 'Xellerate User resource provision mode' was set to java as allowed value.

please check that Change task name should follow with Update Task Name , e.g. -> for <Attr Name> Updated Task , change task should be Change <Attr Name>. And pleasse take care , the task should be , Conditional , required and allow mutliple , this should work for you.

Without IT resource email Server config notification triggering in OIM 11g
Hello Experts
Its strange, in some of our environment. We haven't given any value for email server IT resource but still we are getting notification after user creation and so on. Not sure whether any default mail server comes with OIM 11g. We checked with environment team they are saying there is no mail server configured in oracle enterprise linux box by them.
Could any one help us on this and provide your inputs ?

BTW , these notifications are OOTB and you turn them off by setting a System Property .
Its something like Recon.SEND_NOTIFICATION , set it to false .
But w/o email server , you shouldn't receive any email ..

Creating a request type in OIM 11g R2
Hi All,
I came to know that the request templates have been removed from OIM 11g R2 . I have the below scenario,
1)When an end user logs into Identity console and access his self profile through the 'My Information' link.
2)If he tries to modify some of his attributes(say First Name) the approval policy should not get triggered and should be auto approved and committed to the database
3)For some of the attributes(say Last Name) approval policy has to be triggered and request has to be created and wait for the approval .
4)Now that request templates are removed , Can I create a new request type like 'Modify Custom attributes' similar to 'Modify User Profile' for this scenario to be achieved ?
Please let me know how the above scenario is going to work in OIM 11g R2 ?

Thanks for your reply .. I am able to understand the scenario what you are trying to explain .. I tried to do the same ...but in my scenario ,this is the problem that I am facing ..
1)When a user modifies only his First Name then it works fine and gets auto approved .
2)When a user modifies only his Last Name then it works fine and goes for approval and waits till it gets approved.
3)Now the problem is when a user modifies both his First Name and Last Name and submits as a single request , how to handle this ? In this case the First Name should get committed and the Last Name should not get committed .. But he has submitted only a single request .. so how to handle this scenario ?How to divide a single request into two to commit one attribute and not commit another one ? -
Problem with Acess policy based Provisioning using DBConnecor in OIM 11g R2

I am doing Access policy based Provisioning using DB Connector 9.1.0.5.0 in OIM 11g r2.
it is throwing ITResource Instance with key 0 does not exist. but there no option to select it resource in Process form via Acesspolicy.
in Application instance form there is a form in that it-resource field is available with default value 0. i am trying to update this value it is not updating . at the time of triggering access policy i am getting following error.

Another way to write pre-pop adapter for populating IT Resource on the process form. But I am sure you can provide it resource via access policy.

SOAP API integration problem with OIM 11g R1
Hi,
We're facing a problem when we are attempting to provision for a third party Web Service application in OIM 11g R1.
During development and test running in an IDE environment, JDeveloper, the soap wsdl requests are triggered and a response is received successfully. However, when we shift the work and integrate it with OIM using design console, there seems to be an error indicating an invalid wsdl location. We have used the super class Exception, in try-catch block for handling of the exceptions. Please see the log message.

Thanks a lot for the response. But, when i deployed the composite SAR in to the server from Jdeveloper, i checked the option to "Overwrite any existing composite with same revision ID". SO, i used the same revision ID (Say 1.0), will this also need to be disabled?

I am trying to install AD connector on OIM 11g. However, when i run the installation, the first two steps i.e,

I have checked the data source for connection through weblogic console and the connection test of mds-oim is successful.
can anyone please help me out here?
OIM is 11.1.1.3 and Connector is 9.1.1.5.0

i tried out wireshark and well the ip and port filter show that the machine is infact talking to the right DB. but the problem still remains the same. i am once again pasting the complete trace of exception, if you could help me out here. i have installed OIM on a virtual machine. could that be the issue? although it gave me no issue while installing and while creating users / organizations in it.

OIM 11g R2 - DefaultRequestApproval
Hi ,
I have recently started working on OIM 11g R2 - And I have a question on approval policies and workflows.
In OIM I have created a role "RoleA " and I am assigning members(Users) to this Role .And I could see DefaultRequestApproval workflow is getting triggered and task is assigned to Admin users.
Here my question is - how DefaultRequestApproval is getting triggered when I try to assign members to a Role .And point here to note is I don't have any approval policy defined or configured for this request. I searched Approval Policies in admin console and resulted me Zero records.

This document will provide you with whether or not a specific action is going to be perform as a direct provision (w/o approval) or through a request based on an individuals Admin Roles assigned to them.
Next, you need to understand that there are two parts to every request (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E40329_01/admin.1112/e27149/appr_policies.htm#OMADM2264):
1. Request Level - This is more of a generic approval and is generated for every request and is not based on the content. Typically, clients have an approval policy created to auto approve all the Request Level approvals.
2. Operation Level - This is specific to each of the items in a request. An Operational approval will be generated for each item in the request. You can create approval policies with rules based on type of request to identify if these will require an approval or get auto approved.
For your process, you can create an approval policy that is at the Request Level for Assign Role type of request. Set this to auto approval. If you don't set an approval policy on the Operation level, it will then do the same type of assignment but use the default Operation approval process.
By default, if you do not have a rule, it will trigger the defaults where needed.

Help required related with OIM 11g Email Notification
Experts,
I have a requirement where I have to pass the User's Password through autogenerated email.
But I have a scenario where I dont have to provision any target resource for users..so i dont have access to Notification Tab for such kind of users.
I thought of writing a custom Event Handler to send email using custom code.
But IN OIM 11g , I found that Inside, Advanced->Notification Template-> Create User Self Service Notification … is getting triggered with UserID: $userLoginId<br> and its woking fine.
But once I added Password: $password<br> In the same template, its not providing me the password.
So I think the Parameters associated with this Event "Self register user" does not have $password.
Is there any way to check which all parameters can be accessed in these Events?
Also, what is the best way to send password to users who does not any target resources associated?

created an IT resource with the name same as the value of Email Server property
have made the value of RequestNotification property 1
is there anything else I need to do..
Can you also give some details as to how you have created the IT Resource...is the authentication true/false if true does any username and password do..

Thanks for the reply. As suggested by you I have assigned the default value as 0 for all the checkbox type in form designer for AD User form but still I am getting the same error while provisioning the AD resource.

I am trying to create a request using OIM 11g API's.
I am trying to do this for EBS Responsibility resource and this resource has a request dataset has EBS-IT-Resource-Instance, application name, responsibility name, start date and security group. Please note application name, responsibility name, start date and security group are in child form.

My code is working fine and a request is getting created. But when I try to open the request dataset(object form) for the newly created request, I am getting null exceptions.
If I did not populate the fields that are in the child form application name, responsibility name and security group which are highlighted above, then I am able to view the form with the correct IT-Resource-Instance name after request creation.
So, I am thinking I am doing something wrong while populating child form data in the request dataset.

Unable to invoke Custom PostProcessEventHandler in OIM 11g R2

I am working with OIM 11g R2 .I created an custom PostProcessEventHandler to trigger on modify user operation.
I created a jar file of custom class as xyz.jar
I created an plugin.xml as:

Problem with EventHandler in OIM 11g

I followed the Part I(Chapters 6,7 & 30) in pdf file shown below

I developed the plugin and registered the plugin for custom eventhandler.
Iam not able to see the defined eventhandler in design console .
I am running weblogicImportMetadata.bat (import specific metadata files into the MDS database) as specified in pdf document after making necessary changes.
After restarting OIM server ,the server is not starting , and showing errors like " target invocation exception","null pointer exception" etc.
Have anyone done the EventHandler in OIM 11g , if anyone done please provide the followed document link.
Please suggest to solve the issue.

You won't find the eventhandler in the design console. This is by design.
I had a similar error. Hope this helps you.
Verify your EventHandlers.xml file. For me one of the entries, particularly stage="preprocess" had the letter 's' in uppercase (Stage="preprocess"). This was the source of my error below.

There is definitely a lack of clear documentation around developing plugins (e.g. oim.home in ant.properties should point to OIM home/server).
I worked with Oracle support and provided some feedback. They are going to publish a KB article soon. I now have a preprocess eventhandler that seems to work.
