OIM 11gR2 : Platform Services framework documentation

Hello Experts,
Is there a good documentation on Oracle platformservice api. I am not looking for api reference. More focussed on api usage with reference to OIM 11gR2. How we can use this api for interacting with process form data, updation of attributes, adding user to groups etc.
Kindly Help.

  • OIM 11GR2 Notification Service - Setting Receiver e-mail

    Hi,
    I am using notification service to send e-mail notification. There is a case where I would have to send notification to a DL or external e-mail which doesnt have any account in OIM. I do not find anything in the API where you can set the receiver e-mail instead of userid.
    Any idea how this can be done using the Notification Service ?  I know we can create a user account and give assign this e-mail id to that account and try it, but I would want to know how we can achieve without doing this or is there any way other than completly using plan java code.
    Thanks

    The OOTB OIM APIs only supports User ID instead of any DL or external email ID.
    Its better to create some service account in OIM corresponding to those DLs/external mail and use OOTB OIM APIs to send mails using User ID.

  • OIM 11gR2 Request Validator Plugin and Axis based Web Service Client

    Hi,
    I am trying call a web service client generated using axis2 from a request validator plugin in OIM 11gR2 and I have all the axis related jar files under the plugin lib folder but it fails due to the axis reference issues.
    I tried putting the jar files under different locations like thirdparty folder, server lib etc. But it is giving issues every where. Please let me know if you have some solution.
    Thanks in advance,

    Haven't worked on this, but have you tried by putting the axis libraries inside the plugin lib folder when you are building up the plugin? Also you need to check asix2 compatibility with weblogic version with R2.

  • Utilities replaced by Services in OIM 11gR2

    Hi,
    Why is the use of oracle.iam.platform.OIMClient recommended over Thor.API.tcUtilityFactory for configuring clients with OIM 11gR2.
    Kind Regards,
    Varun

    It is the preferred method in all of 11g, even R1. As to why, I do not have the details.

    Has anyone attempted this and also failed or succeeded, or done something similar? I'd like to be able to use the Deployment Manager to create adapters because it's easier than dealing with the design console, especially for multiple adapters.
    I can also post the xml file I'm using if anyone would like to see it.

  • LDAPSync - OIM 11gR2

    Hi Guys,
    I have installed oim 11gR2 with LDAP Sync enabled to OUD 11g 11.1.1.5.
    When i create user or role from oim it is getting created in OUD which is fine.
    When i create user in OUD, the user is created in OIM which is also fine.
    But, when i create the role in oud, the role is not created in OIM. When i run the LDAP Role full reconciliation it is getting the role to oim but it is in Data received state. When i tried to process the event using the API, i got the message
    "java.lang.NullPointerException at oracle.iam.reconciliation.dao.ReconActionDao.executeRoleMatch(ReconActionDao.java:1003) at oracle.iam.reconciliation.impl.RoleHandler.executeSingleEventMatch(RoleHandler.java:231) at oracle.iam.reconciliation.impl.EntityTypeHandler.match(EntityTypeHandler.java:58) at oracle.iam.reconciliation.impl.ActionEngine.processEvent(ActionEngine.java:166) at oracle.iam.reconciliation.impl.ReconOperationsServiceImpl.processReconciliationEvent(ReconOperationsServiceImpl.java:1216) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.springframework.aop.support.AopUtils.invokeJoinpointUsingReflection(AopUtils.java:307) at org.springframework.aop.framework.ReflectiveMethodInvocation.invokeJoinpoint(ReflectiveMethodInvocation.java:182) at org.springframework.aop.framework.ReflectiveMethodInvocation.proceed(ReflectiveMethodInvocation.java:149) at oracle.iam.platform.utils.DMSMethodInterceptor.invoke(DMSMethodInterceptor.java:25) at org.springframework.aop.framework.ReflectiveMethodInvocation.proceed(ReflectiveMethodInvocation.java:171) at org.springframework.aop.framework.JdkDynamicAopProxy.invoke(JdkDynamicAopProxy.java:204) at $Proxy328.processReconciliationEvent(Unknown Source) at Thor.API.Operations.tcReconciliationOperationsIntfEJB.processReconciliationEventx(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at com.bea.core.repackaged.springframework.aop.support.AopUtils.invokeJoinpointUsingReflection(AopUtils.java:310) at com.bea.core.repa"
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a lot

    Can you check if you can see the parameters for Directory Server in IT Resource Directory Server ?

  • OIM 11gR2: Screen customization, file upload

    Going through the documentation for OIM 11gR2, we are very excited for the customization capabilities (based on ADF it seems) for the screens.
    One of the things we have always wanted to do is to allow users to upload pictures of themselves in the self-service interface. The pictures would then be sent to the LDAP, where we have our enterprise employee directory.
    With 11gR2, how would we go about adding a webcomponent element that would allow a user to choose a JPEG on their local machine, and upload it to OIM to be included in their profile?
    Thank you.

    OIM still doesn't support this feature. You can have custom UDF in which you can put path of image and then internally have a separate table with userkey and image file(blob) mapping. But it'll be a complex task. Or you can do UI customizations.
    regards,
    GP

  • [ANN] XINS 2.1 open source Web Services framework release

    XINS 2.1 Web Services Framework has been released.
    XINS is an open source Web Services Framework based on simple specifications of the Web Service in XML and
    generation of code and documentation from the specification.
    The generation includes Client JAR with its Javadoc, Server side template with its Javadoc, documentation in OpenDocument Format,
    documentation in HTML including the test forms, WSDL file, unit tests (JUnit) and stubs.
    The Web Services accept several protocols including REST, SOAP, XML-RPC, XML, JSON Yahoo! and JSON-RPC.
    What's new:
    * Start the API with java -jar <api name>.war
    * Improved generated specification in OpenDocument Format
    * Include/exclude calling convention with ACLs
    * New calling convention that maps SOAP request and response as the wsdl2api command mapping.
    * Smaller generated build.xml
    * Added possibility to include other runtime properties files
    * The runtime property location can be a URL
    * Swing Graphical User Interface
    * New tools: emma, glean, webstart
    * New target: javadoc-test-<api name>, javadoc-apis
    * Bug fixes and small RFEs
    Download XINS 2.1:
    Windows installer: http://prdownloads.sf.net/xins/xins-2.1.exe?download
    TAR GZ archive: http://prdownloads.sf.net/xins/xins-2.1.tgz?download
    Resources:
    Web site: http://xins.sourceforge.net/
    XINS demos: http://xins.sourceforge.net/demo.html
    Documentation: http://xins.sourceforge.net/documentation.html
    User guide: http://xins.sourceforge.net/docs/index.html

    I recommend you implement your web service with JAX-WS 2.0
    Axis (both version) are good but why do you want to use something that is not included in JEE API, when Java provide same thing with better performance.
    personally try to prevent non standard technologies despite they can be better than core java implementation sometimes.
    I don't know Xfire.
    the good:
    -JAX-WS performance is better than axis,
    - you can create your web service simply with annotation.(this means write class and then make it as a service easily)
    - support every kind of service invocation(callback,Asynchronous,...)
    - architecture is nice (you can operate on SOAP level)
    the Bad:
    - It is JEE 5 or JSE 6 dependent.
    - there is seriously lack of documentation and examples for it, on java web sites and internet.

  • OIM 11gR2 user not provisioning to Active Directory (11.1.1.5 connector)

    Hello all,
    I'm trying to set up an OIM 11gR2 instance to work with Active Directory with the Active Directory 11.1.1.5.0 connector. I've full installed both OIM and AD on separate servers, and I've installed the AD 11.1.1.5 connector on OIM. I have configured Active Directory properly (connector on OIM and the connector server on the AD server-side), and have set up the two IT Resources on OIM. I can run, for example, the Active Directory Organization Lookup Recon job and have it return results in the Lookup window.
    My problem is that I cannot get it to provision to a user. I've created an Application Instance and Form for Active Directory, attached the Form, associated them with the appropriate resources (AD User), and added them to the Catalog, and then gone through the process of adding an account to the user, selecting the Application Instance, adding it to the cart, checking out, filling out the fields (Password, User ID, UPN, First Name, Last Name, Common Name, and Organization Name), and then submitting the request. This is all done as the xelsysadm admin user, but it still results with the account stuck on "Provisioning" because the "Create User" task failed due to a Connector Error (the reason stated is just a repeat of "Create Object" failed).
    Anyone know what I'm missing here?
    Thank you!

    Hey 833249, thanks for your reply
    The organization field attribute is filled in correctly, in that the OU I selected exists in AD.
    These are the errors listed in the connector server log:

    I'm not sure why the username/password error could be occurring, as those fields in the AD IT Resource are correct (I've run AD recon jobs that have connected properly). Is there something I'm missing?

  • OIM 11gR2 - unable to suppress display of iPlanet process form

    OIM 11gR2 or 11.1.2
    SJSDS Connector 9.0.4
    I have configured the SJSDS connector, it resource, etc and am able to manually/directly provision iPlanet User to an OIM user through the identity interface.
    I have configured the process form to pre-populate all necessary fields.
    I have checked the Auto Save Form checkbox within the iPlanet User Process Definition.
    It is my expectation that when an administrator directly assigns the resource to a user they will not be presented with the process form. However, when we directly assign the resource, the process form is displayed causing the administrator to submit the form.
    I have double checked the documentation regarding Auto Save Form within the Developer's Guide for Oracle Identity Manager 11g Release 2 (11.1.2) - E27150-03 and the Oracle® Identity Manager Connector Guide for Sun Java System Directory Release 9.0.4 - E10446-12 and I believe my expectations are correct.
    1) Has anyone successfully suppressed the process form while direct or manually provisioning SJSDS through the identity interface?
    2) Could the Auto Save Form be only related to request-based provisioning?
    Thank you in advance.

    These are also good questions but I'll give details :-)
    1) Does that make the "Auto Save Form" checkbox useless? -
    NO, If you don't do this then your Provisioning will stuck into System Validation.
    2) Can you "Auto Save" the Application Instance form?
    NO, as per Oracle either hide these attributes or delete these attributes but there's no clean way to delete such things.
    Question For You:
    If you don't want to Auto Save your Application Instance Form then why did you create that.
    Workaround:
    If you don't want Application Instance then create one more Application Instance without any form

  • Implementing Shared Service Framework

    Hi,
    We would like to implement Shared Services Framework offered by SAP. We would like to do all the configurations manually. Is there any best practice documentation available which can be used for configurations and running the process. We have already seen the best practice documentation of Rapid Deployment Solution. However, this involves best practice client installation. We do not want to install the best practice client.
    Please suggest the link where documentation is available or suggest any other method to take this forward.
    Regards,
    Sanjay

    Hi,
    Thanks for your valuable feedback. We are looking for implementation documentation in SSF-Accounting. In this area also there are no documents available other than RDS. Actually SAP is supposed to provide the relevant documentation for the new functionalities that they are introducing. Hence, we are finding out if anybody has got hold of any documents in this area.
    Thanks,
    Sanjay

  • Problem handling SMTP address with OIM 11gR2 Exchange connector

    Hello,
    I have a problem in regarding the primary SMTP address with the Exchange connector. The connector doesn't seem to be able to update it. Changing a user's primary SMTP address from its account details in OIM creates a new secondary address in Exchange. It does not change the current primary SMTP address. This does not look like a normal behavior... Any ideas on how to fix this?
    I'm using OIM 11gR2 with BP10 with AD 11.1.1.5.0A and Exchange 11.1.1.5.0.
    Thanks,
    --jtellier

    Yes, you can try out few things suggested in below thread
    Re: Exchange Provisioning
    The error looks like form exchange server side but still not sure about it.
    Meantime open Service Request with oracle about the same as I can see other developers are also facing same issue.

  • Need clarifications on OIM 11gR2

    Friends,
    I have successfully installed OIM 11gR2 on Linux 64 bit and used weblogic 10.3.6. I have few queries and expecting your expertise.
    1) Tried to install JDeveloper on it but it is getting failed saying it is not compatible with middleware. After googling, i found need to apply some ADF runtime drivers. But, I am not sure how to do. Can you please provide me some directions?
    2) I went thru the documentation on sandbox concept in OIM 11gR2 but did not understand. Can you please explain me its concept clearly?
    3) I tried to install OID from IDM 11.1.1.6 but it is getting failed saying it requires 32 bit Linux os but i did not find 64 bit OID software. Can you please provide me url where i can download OID software for Linux 64 bit.

    Hi Thiago,
    Thanks for your replies.
    Yes, I followed certification matrix and tried to install 11.1.1.6 only on wlserver 10.3.6.
    Can you please eloborate on the below points? Or If there are any urls for detailed steps, please provide them.
    -What you have to do:
    +2.1-On Application Server Navigator you can create types of connection:+
    +2.2-Integrated WLS option+
    +2.3-Standalone WLS option+
    +2.4-This first option you can install a local standalone WLS 10.3.6 server on your environment, then create a separate "integrated WLS" connection to the standalone server.+
    +2.5-Then go to your Application's properties through the Application menu -> Application Properties -> Run -> Bind to Integration Application Server option you can the brand new option created WLS server connection to work with your application.+
    +3.0- Don't forget that you need to install the ADF Runtimes for the server to be able to work with ADF applications+

  • Organization Admin control in OIM 11gR2

    Hi,
    I was trying to configure Organization Admin control in OIM 11gR2. Our requirement is to configure roles having read access of organization (members of this role can only see the members of the organization but cannot update it), roles having admin control on organization (where members of this roles can read/write/execute member access). There should be different set of roles having access on different organization where members from one role cannot access the members of the other organization. I tried to configure these security models but the only thing i could find in organization is Admin Roles which also i couldn't able to configure very well :(. Can someone point me to the correct documentation or procedure/tool which we should use to achieve such functionality (These functionalities are very easily available in OIM 10g but couldn't find in 11gR2 :( )

    If you add the members of a role to the Admin Roles of a given Organization (Specifically OrclOIMOrgViewer Admin Role). The users will be able to see the users in that organization.
    A few things to consider:
    Only xelsysadm or a users in the System Administrator Admin Role can assign users to Admin Roles within the scope of an Organization.
    Here is a piece of code that you can use to programmatically add users to the Admin Role OrclOIMOrgViewer:
    public List getScopedAdminRoleMemberships() {   // This one gets the list of all admin roles scoped by Organization
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(OIMClient.JAVA_NAMING_FACTORY_INITIAL,"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    env.put(OIMClient.JAVA_NAMING_PROVIDER_URL, "t3://<oim server host>:<oim port>");
    OIMClient oimClient = new OIMClient(env);
    try {
    oimClient.login("xelsysadm", "<XELSYSADM Password>".toCharArray());
    } catch (LoginException e) {
    throw new RuntimeException(e.getMessage(), e);
    AdminRoleService adminRoleSvc = oimClient.getService(AdminRoleService.class);
    return adminRoleSvc.getScopedAdminRoles();
    public AdminRoleMembership addAdminRoleMembershipFor(String userId, AdminRole role, String scopeId) {  // This method adds the user identified by userId (pass usr_key not usr_login) to the Admin Role in Org whose key (act_key) is
    // passed as a parameter in the scopeId.
    AdminRoleMembership membership = new AdminRoleMembership();
    membership.setAdminRole(role);
    membership.setUserId(userId);
    membership.setScopeId(scopeId);
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(OIMClient.JAVA_NAMING_FACTORY_INITIAL,"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    env.put(OIMClient.JAVA_NAMING_PROVIDER_URL, "t3://<oim server host>:<oim port>");
    OIMClient oimClient = new OIMClient(env);
    try {
    oimClient.login("xelsysadm", "<XELSYSADM Password>".toCharArray());
    } catch (LoginException e) {
    throw new RuntimeException(e.getMessage(), e);
    AdminRoleService adminRoleSvc = oimClient.getService(AdminRoleService.class);
    return adminRoleSvc.addAdminRoleMembership(membership);
    This should give you what you need. Remember, the API's work with act_key and usr_key values don't use Org Names or User Logins.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards
    Alex Lopez
