OIM dependant task/preeceding task

Hi All,
I have to attach a task on delete user and want it to run before delete user runs. I have made the jar file and created a prcoess task adapter and also add process in the provisioning form of SAP. Then attached it as a preecding task in delete user but it is not running? Any idea? Do I need to attach it to Xellerate user? Can someone tell me the steps? I just want to run that task before Delelte runs?
Thanks
IDM

Hi IDM,
There is a lookup in which task to attribute mapping defined. In that lookup you need to define your task name on delete action then only your task will be trigger and make your task as conditional. As much i understood by default the Delete User (Old user delete task) task is there you need to replace it with your task name. And make the old delete user task dependant on your newly created delete task i.e you have already done. And as per my udnerstanding your delete action is happening only through the old delete user task in your task you just doing somethingelse so you need not to change any thing in Undo task and Recovey Task tab.
Or you can do one thing just rename your task with the name of old delete user task and rename the old delete user task with any name. Replace the tasks renamethe newly create task with old one and vice versa. I hope this also should work fine. If you do replacing of the name just make sure the task in UndoRecovery tab of your Provisioning task should be deleting the user in the target resource as after that particular task trigger no other will trigger at all.
Let me know if you face any challenge while implementing the same.

  • OIM 11g changing process tasks on Xellerate User

    Hi all,
    I am trying to send an email when an OIM user gets disabled. To do this i would like to set the Notification for the "Disable User" process task on Xellerate User.
    However, any attempted change to the process tasks gives this error:
    The security level for this data item indicates that it cannot be updated.
    Update failed.
    Update failed.
    Adding a post-update event handler doesn't work in 11g anymore as well.
    What would be the suggested way to send emails and fire adapters on changes to the user profile?
    Thanks for your thoughts.

    Hi Kevin,
    I got it working by creating a new process task with task effect: Disables Process Or Access To Application
    That process task had an adapter attached that would send the mail.
    After your comment I went on to experiment with the notifications. Earlier i couldn't get them to be sent, but after creating a new process task (setting the tcCompleteTask handler and the notification) it started sending the emails. And now I don't need the custom adapter anymore.
    Not sure what changed, thanks for your input.

  • Bounded task flow task-flow-return to unbounded task flow throws 404

    I'm using an unbounded task flow (adfc-config.xml) to call a bounded task flow (task-flow-definition). All navigation in the bounded task flow works well, data is committing. (I am omitting many of the pages from the bounded task flow to keep this post shorter. If I can get this first page to return to the unbounded task flow, I can copy it forward.)
    My problem is when running from the unbounded task flow, I cannot seem to configure the bounded task flow to return to the login page inside the unbounded task flow, which called it, without a 404 error.

    Is the task-flow-return the ONLY way to pass values from the bounded to the unbounded task flow?

    I've tried every conceivable way to navigate from the bounded task flow, to the unbounded task flow, and the only consistent thing I receive is a 404. Is this a security issue?

  • Calling RFC FM in update task / background task

    hi experts,
    I have a RFC FM in system B and i want to call it from system A. if the system B is down when the call happens then the call is lost. basically i want the call happen when the system B is up. somewhere i have read that when u call the RFC FM in update task/ background task , SAP will try to make the call to system B at periodic intervals of time till the system B is up. is that so? what is the difference between calling the RFC in update task and background task?
    thanks

  • In sequence container i have three task one task have to made transaction Remaining three task made not transaction

    in sequence container i have three task one task have to made transaction Remaining three task made not transaction

    Hi hari3109,
    Just as Visakh said, we need to set the TransactionOption property of the container to ‘Required’ to enable transaction. The Required value means this container will cause a new transaction to be started unless the parent container already has a transaction,
    in which case, the parent’s transaction will be joined. For more details about TransactionOption property, please see:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-IN/library/microsoft.sqlserver.dts.runtime.dtstransactionoption.aspx
    Besides, we should follow there guidelines to decide whether and how to implement a transaction:
    For transactions to be enabled in SSIS, you need to turn on the DTC service, and the tasks that you want to be part of the transaction must work with the DTC service natively.
    If a series of tasks must be completed as a single unit, in which either all the tasks are successful and committed or an error occurs and none of the tasks are committed, then place the tasks within a Sequence Container, and then set the TransactionOption
    property of the container to Required.
    A task can inherit the transaction setting of its parent when the TransactionOption property is set to Supported, which is the default setting when creating a task or container.
    You can prevent a task from participating in a transaction by setting its TransactionOp-tion setting to NotSupported.
    Transactions work at the control flow level and not within a data flow. This means that you can turn on a transaction for a data flow task, but you cannot turn it on separately for selected components within the data flow; either the entire data process
    will be successful or it will be rolled back.
    For more information about Configuring Package Transactions in SSIS, please refer to the following document:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc304421.aspx

    I would assume you are missing the jar file for your scheduled tasks. Try and create a new scheduled task with the same class name, if it won't let you save, this is your answer. You'll want to make sure you have the connector scheduled task file in the ScheduleTask folder in your OIM directory.

  • OIM 11g: Add process tasks as a result of a Request?

    Is it possible in OIM 11g to have the result of a Request be that 1 or more process tasks are added to an an account's process?
    The out-of-the-box Request framework seems to be very attribute driven (Modify Provisioned Resource, Self Modify Provisioned Resource), and I suppose we could add an attribute to trigger process tasks to be added, however, without going into detail, we'd really just like to be able to add the process task with no process form updates.
    Has anyone attempted anything like this?

    Sure you can.  Create a plugin on the request status:
    <plugin pluginclass="com.custom.eventhandlers.request.RequestCompleted" version="1.0" name="RequestCompleted">
    <metadata name="status">
    <value>Request Completed</value>
    </metadata>
    </plugin>
    In your code, using benEntity.getEntityKey() you can get the "Users-Object Instance For User.Key" value for the instance the request is for.  Then search the user's existing instances of that resource object type (findObjects) and match it to the "Users-Object Instance For User.Key" value from the result set.  Then get the process instance key.  From there you can use this code to get the task details:
    Map taskMap = new HashMap();
    String taskName = map.get(resourceName);
    taskMap.put("Process Definition.Tasks.Task Name",taskName);
    tcResultSet rs =  taskOper.getTaskDetail(processInstanceKey,taskMap);
    long taskKey = rs.getLongValue("Process Definition.Tasks.Key");
    And finally this code to insert the task:
    provIntf.addProcessTaskInstance(taskKey, processInstanceKey);
    And done!

  • OIM - creating new process task

    I'm new to identity manager, and am having a problem adding tasks to a process.
    I am creating a task for esso-PG, and following the steps in the OIM-PG user guide.
    When I add a new task, and go to Task to Object Status Mapping tab, there is nothing there. I can't find any information on how this is populated.
    Is there a step I am missing to allow these to display?
    thanks in advance

    Don't be panic. Some users have seen this issue earlier.
    Delete that task and add another one.
    If above doesn't work for you then export the XML file, do the changes in the XML file and import the XML.

  • Customizing OIM request or approval task pages

    Hi,
    I need help in changing the layout of a particular screen in OIM 11g R1.  Below is the scenario:
    User submit request.
    Request is assigned to corresponding manager(s).
    If request is assigned to multiple managers, one of the managers will ‘Claim’ the request.
    Manager opens the request details and click on ‘Additional Information’.
    Request is again assigned back to requester.
    Requester will open the request from ‘Approval Task’ to submit additional information to approver.
    In this page, request is divided into two parts i) Basic details, Additional Request details, Request information ii) Role/Request details.
    By default, ‘Additional Request Information’ response section can be completely viewed using scrollbar OR can be dragged down. But our requirement is to align the page such that no adjustment should be made to page to view complete content of the page.  Can anyone let me know how to do this?  I wanted to know in which request/approval task ADF pages files (JSFF) are available to customize. I could see only user page (JSFF) to customize, but not related to request/approval task pages.
    - Kalyan Mutya.

    Pending Tasks works in the following manner:
    - User : Any task assigned to a user remains to be visible under its pending tasks unless re-assigned to someone else by the user/admin.
    - Group : Any task which is assigned to a group would not directly come to the user work flow. Whenever you login to OIM, the system checks all your groups and then do a smart calculation for these assigned tasks. So if the user is removed from a group then it would not see these tasks anymore.
    Now for your case, the Group=Business Owner itself is changed. So for new requests the assignment would be to done to the new group but existing tasks remains in the work-flow of the older group, if still required them you might want to re-assign it using OIM API's.
    Thanks

  • OIM: JSF / JPA in task adapter

    * Cross Posting from Weblogic Server server forum *
    Hello
    I have a JPA / JSF application that was written to assist with DB reads / writes. The java methods are called from OIM, as task adapters.
    If I run my application from within JDeveloper, all is well. Everything behaves as you'd expect.
    If I create a deployment profile and deploy to a jar file, everything works as well. In the jar, all of the classes, as well as the META-INF/persistence.xml file are included. Running the app with 'java -classpath .:/path/to/jar com.classname.method works as expected.
    If, however, I then copy the jar to the JavaTasks directory of WLS/OIM, and try and execute the method, I get the following error:

    How do I get OIM to recognize the existence of the persistence.xml file in the META-INF directory of the jar that contains my classes? Do I have to add another persistence.xml file elsewhere in the WLS server to get it to be parsed?
    Thank you.

    It is there.
    Here is an extract from the persistence.xml file:
    <persistence-unit name="persistenceName">
    <provider>org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider</provider>
    <jta-data-source>/jdbc/datasourceNameDS</jta-data-source>
    <class>...</class>
    <class>...</class>
    <class>...</class>
    <class>...</class>
    </persistence-unit>
    Thank you.

  • OIM: Question on Process Task configuration

    Hi OIM guru,
    I have a process form and a child form. I have a process task that gets triggered when a child entry is added. My question is, is there a way to avoid duplicate child table entries? For example, a user can have groups g1, g2 ... etc. How do we configure such that the admin cannot pick the same g1 once it is already added. When clicked on the lookp for groups all groups will show but is there a way to not let an existing group to be added again?
    Thanks

    You can't. Don't give the admin that functionality. Create a seperate object that manages the groups and on your provisioning side, do your checks to see if it already exists before adding another.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Do the following:
    From the oracle home (oracle_idm1) run the command <ORACLE_OIM_HOME>\common\bin\wlst.cmd
    Run the connect() command and connect with the weblogic user to the to the oim managed server (port 14000)
    Use the following command change your from location to the directory where your files are at. The location should be one folder up from the base "db" directory : importMetadata(application='oim', server='oim_server1', fromLocation='e:/files', applicationVersion='*')

  • OIM - Understanding the scheduled-task User Operations

    Hi,
    Could anybody here explain what that task means?
    The manual says:
    This scheduled task performs the operation specified by the UserOperation attribute on the user account specified by the UserLogin attribute
    Does anybody here have an example of a scenario that this task could be useful?
    Regards
    HH

    Pretty simple. That scheduler is used to perform some actions on the OIM user account on a pre-defined schedule. That means you can perform ENABLE, DISABLE, or DELETE actions on any OIM user. And the attribute values could be:
    UserLogin - OIM User Login
    UserOperation - ENABLE
    The above scheduler run will enable the user if its disabled. Now the utility part. Consider the following use cases:
    *1)* You terminated any user, say User001 and you want to Disable this user and all its provisioned resources at 18:00 hours once he finishes all the office works, and if you directly Disable the user from Disable User button the User and all his resources would be gone immediately. So you can set this scheduler to run at 18:00 hours with the values User001 and DISABLE
    *2)* You are an OIM help-desk guy and OIM administrator doesn't want you to have access to menu item Users because he doesn't want you to have a look at the OIM user personal details but he still want that you can actually perform enable-disable actions on OIM. In such case he will give you access to Manage Schedule Task menu-item so that you can perform the daily operations activity. This will be a solution to the use-case.
    Thanks
