OLAP data from MS SQL to Oracle

Hi,
I am currently using Microsoft SQL server 2000 as our datawarehouse with Analytic services(OLAP data).
We are thinking of migrating to Oracle 10g. By using Migration Workbench, will it migrate my 3 dimensional data(OLAP) from MS SQL to Oracle (OLAP) ?

This could happen if you are using improper LKM
So depending on your source and staging database you choose the corresponding LKM
for example:
If you are using MS SQL Server as your source and Oracle database as the staging database, then you should be using lKM SQL to Oracle

Hi folks,
I would like to sync our one table in oracle db with table in different system, stored in MS SQL database.
What would be the easiest option for connection from Oracle to MS SQL db to be able to query data from MS SQL through some Oracle package?
If possible, I would like to keep all "tricky steps" within Oracle database. I heard about option with Java, but so far we have no experience with java in Oracle.
Our database: Oracle 11g Database Standard Edition One

Can someone please help me on how to replicate data from MS SQL Server to Oracle 8i database.

I do simple replication on Oracle 8.0.5 successfully. (one master site and one snapshot site). I only use the SQL*Plus and Schema Manager to do.
But when I do advance replication (multimaster replication) I meet many problem. So I don't get the result.
Do you show me the technology to do that ?

There are various options depending on how much data we're talking about, where you want the program logic, whether it's a one-time migration, etc.
Among the options
- Use SQL Server's DTS
- BCP the data from SQL Server into flat files and use SQL*Loader to load it
- Create a database link using Heterogeneous Services and Generic Connectivity to extract data from SQL Server
- Use the Oracle Migration Workbench, which is now integrated into SQL Developer
- Use an ETL tool like Oracle Warehouse Builder

Export data from MS sql server table to an oracle table

I need to move data from a sql server table to an oracle table and when ever the sql server table is updated it needs to automatically update the oracle table. Is there procedure to do this or do I migrate the data once and set up a trigger on the sql server table to update the oracle table? If the trigger is the answer how do I do that?

Pl/Sql developer has a config window, there you choose the exec to do the import/export.
Find it and his home version, it may be exp or expdp, the home version is the version of the client where the exp executable is.
Then use the same version of imp or impdp to execute the import, you do not need to use Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.1.64. If you want to use it, you must have the same version in the oracle home that exp/imp of sql developer use.

I am using oracle 10g , plsql developer. Can anyone help me in how to load the data from .csv file to oracle table. The table is already created with the required columns. The .csv file is having about 10lakh records. Is it possible to load 10lakh records. can any one please tell me how to proceed.

Thanks Roger for the Update.
It means that have to first CREATE TYPE .. TABLE in database then only I can fire a Select statement on that TYPE.
Actually I wanted to fire a Select statement on the TABLE TYPE, defined & declared in PLSQL stored procedure using DECLARE TYPE .. TABLE & not using CREATE TYPE .. TABLE.
I was eager to know this, because my organization is reluctant in using CREATE TYPE .. TABLE defined in the database, so I was looking out for another alternative to access PL/SQL TABLE using Select statement without defining it database. It would have been good if I could access a PLSQL TABLE using Select statement Declared locally in the stored procedure.
Can I summarize that to access a PL/SQL TABLE using SELECT statement, I have to first CREATE TYPE .. TABLE?
If someone have any other idea on this, please do let me know.

You have to define a database type...

i have TT(F1,F2,F3) table in Access Databsse
and emp(ename,ecode,sal) in oracle Database

when i connect to Access Database thru this command this show following error
