OmniPortlet - Calling Procedure & Passing Parameters

We've just now gotten time after a long upgrade to take a closer look at omni portlet. One of the things we seem to need a lot of are quick and dirty interfaces that allow users to update data. Phone lists, project member lists, etc.. These are things that require a non-technical end-user to manually maintain.
Omni portlet seems to have a feature that allows us to create a report based on a query and present updatable columns as a "field" type.
This seems to imply that we may allow a user to modify the field data at which point we planned on adding a field type of "button" that would call a hyperlink/URL that would be a procedure to update the table assuming that the parameters would be sent to the procedure in tact.
We're having trouble with that part. It seems the hyperlink option doesn't go directly to the URL that you provide(at least according to the source code of that page), it's sending the user to /portal/events first which then seems to re-direct you to the final URL specified.
Needless to say, our parameters don't seem to be making it to the final destination (the URL of the procedure that we wrote to accept these paramters).
This seems like such a great use of the omni portlet. Has anyone else made this work? Are we trying to make Omniportlet do more than it was designed to do? I've read the documentation a few times and don't see any examples of this type of approach. If this is indeed possible, the omniportlet would be worth the 6 months it took us to upgrade. :-)

I am not getting any errors. The output for that particular field just comes up blank. I have even tried the following template definition within the rtf:

Problem in passing parameters between flow task in a dynamic region

Hi,
I have a problem with the passing of parameters between task flow when it is executed within a dynamic region. To implement this, I followed the Baranovskis Andrejus Blog "JDeveloper 11g and ADF Task Flow Parameters" and everything works perfect as the task flow are not invoked from a dynamic region. But if the same task flow are converted to fragment of pages and executed in a dynamic region, the filter in the task flow that is called does not work, it does not return any records.
Any idea that I may be missing to make this work well?.

My case is the first, ie in a single dynamic region, a task flow call another passing parameters to filter data to display in the second, using a task flow call activitie. As I said in the message above, everything works well as both task flow to not become unbounded task flow with fragmet page.

Calling Stored procedure with Parameters in PowerPivot DataModel

Hi All,
I wanted to call a SQL stored procedure from PowerPivot(Excel) on based on changing slicer's value.
Currently, we can call stored procedure wihtout any parameter from Data Model tab using
Exec stored_proc_name in Table Properties window.
What if I want to call the same procedure with a parameter whouse value will come by changing slicer's value. I meant, changing slicer value will act as a parameter to that stored procedure & it should return updated results.

According to your description, you call a SQL Server stored procedure in PowerPivot data model, now the problem is that you need to pass a parameter to the stored procedure, right?
Based on my research, it seems that we cannot achieve this requirement directly in current version of PowerPivot data model. Here is a similar thread for you reference.

Calling stored procedures with parameters with the Database Connectivity Toolkit

I am new to the forum and am having difficulty finding a solution to a particular problem I am having regarding using the LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit on a project I am currently working on at my job. I have a database in which I have tables and stored procedures with parameters. Some of these stored procedures have input, output, and return parameters.

One such stored procedure I am working on implementing is named "dbo.getAllowablePNs", which executes "SELECT * from DeviceType" (DeviceType is the table). In this case, it does not require an input parameter, it has an output parameter that generates the table [cluster], and has a return parameter which returns an integer value (execution status code) to show if an error occurred. The DeviceType table has 3 columns; ID (PK, int, not null), PN (nvarchar(15), null), and NumMACAddresses (int, null). I have gone over many examples and have talking to NI support to try to implement this and similar stored procedures in LabVIEW but have not been successful. I am able to connect to the database with the Open Connection VI without error, but am running into some confusion following this step. I am then trying to use the Create Parameterized Query VI to call the stored procedure and set the parameters. I assume I would then use the Set Parameter Value VI for each parameter that is wired into the parameters input on the previous Parameterized Query VI? I am also having some confusion during and following these steps as well. I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions anyone might have in regards to this situation as I am not a SQL expert. Also, I would be happy to provide any more information that would be helpful.

Passing parameters from vb form to a crystal report with stored procedure

Can someone give me an idea how to use data inputted on vb form to be use as basis of crystal report generation which loads data from a stored procedure. Stored procedure has parameters that was also set in the crystal report. viewing on crystal report is ok but i am having difficulty running the report from vb.

Note that the ParamValue.Value should be assigned with exact same data type as you declared it in CR.
If it is string, Convert your Variable to string first.
If it is date, make sure you are passing a date variable.

T-sql 2008 r2 place results from calling a stored procedure with parameters into a temp table

I would like to know if the following sql can be used to obtain specific columns from calling a stored procedure with parameters:

Calling procedure with 2 parameters from a dynamic link

I have just another question-
I have a procedure testing_del_archive which is being called with 2 parameters...from a dynamic link in my SQL Query.
The following is my code....

You missed the ampersand symbol in between the parameters.
This should be

Calling a function and passing parameters via Variables

I've got an XML file that is loading in data and is calling functions.
I've figured out how to call the methods from classes with variables set from the XML file:
var functionToCall:String = xml.functions.func[0].to_fire.toString();
myClass[functionToCall]();
This calls the function perfectly.
I was wondering if there is anyway to pass parameters into the function as well through variables. Some functions may have no parameters, some functions could have 5... so the xml could be like this:

Passing parameters to sub report's stored procedure

I'm attempting to pass values from the main report to a linked sub report's stored procedure, but I haven't been successful yet.
I know how to filter the parameters on the return set of the stored procedure, using parameters from the main report. However, I would like the stored procedure executed for each record of the main report, using those values passed.

I was getting "missing parameter values" trying to send parameters to a stored procedure in the subreport. Turns out there is a hot fix for my issue. Not sure if it matches what you're trying to do; you need to give more information on what you've already tried.
I was using CR XI, and also CR for VS 2005. The problem seems to be fixed with CR VS2005 SP1, for Visual Studio CR.
Look up under Business Objects Downloads: Crystal Reports > .NET > Hot Fixes
Files:
CRRedist2005_x86.msi
crvs05sp1.exe
Then open the report again, and re-save it.
This has fixed the problem for me.

until the tutorial is available, here's a step by step guide.
1. Create an outbound exit plug, for example "CallApp" in an interface view controller belonging to the calling component.
2. Add a string parameter 'Url' to the plug "CallApp". It's important that the parameter starts with uppercase 'U'.
3. Declare a controller usage of the interface view controller for the view controller, which will fire the plug.
4. Add an action to the calling view controller.
5. Add the following code snippet to the method body of the action handler. Change the application name "CalledApp" to the name of your called application and the wdThis.wdGet<YourInterfaceView>Controller().wdFirePlugCallApp(url) so that it matches the names you defined. The example will not work, if the application is not part of the deployable object the calling component resides in.

Call procedure with positional parameters works, but with named parameters gives an ORA-907.

How can I call a jsp page with outputlink, passing parameters with method post ?
Ex: I need that the word "?pNumMensagem=#{currentRow["NumMensagem"]}" not was exposed when a call P0077_2.jsp.

SSRS. Not passing fields/parameters to report when stored procedure keeps parameters inside IF statement

So what I mean:
I have stored procedure like this:

If I use this stored procedure as report's dataset (Microsoft Visual Studio 2013) in following:

Type: Stored Procedure > sp_Example It
do NOT get any fields, but get parameters
If I use this stored procedure in following:
Add
Dataset > Query
Type: Text > EXECUTE
sp_Example It get all required fields, but do NOT get parameters
Of course If I add manually parameters or fields It not working.
If I change IF statement
in stored procedure something like:
IF (1 < 3)
BEGIN
SELECT Name, Date, Price, Etc
FROM Table3
WHERE (Name = @param1 OR @param1 = '') AND (StartDate = @param2 OR @param2 = '')
END
It normally working in report (getting all fields and parameters). So problem is that I pass parameters to IF statement.
Have you any ideas how to pass parameters to IF statement
and get It correctly working on report?

Per my understanding that you are experending some issue when using the stored procedure to create the dataset, you can't get the fields to display under the dataset, right?
I have tested on my local environment with the same script as your and can't reproduce the issue, Please try to check and provide more details information according to below points:
What do you mean of not get any fields, Is that mean no table header along with the value will display? If you got any error message, please provide it.
Did you use any temp table in the stored procedure, if so, the issue can be caused by the temp table you are using, please don't use temp table in it which will cause no fields display.
If you use the second method to execute the procedure, please check to make sure you have added the script like below to make the parameters display in the report:
exec sp_Example @Param1=@Param1,@Param2=@Param2
Please execute the stored procedure in the SQL Server Management Studio like below to see if the stored procedure will works fine:
exec sp_Example @Param1='Test1',@Param2='2014-10-15'
If this work fine in the management studio, please try to create an new report to re-add this procedure.

Firstly, I tried out with execute() and getMoreResults() to check if the statement is returning result set. - Its returning "null" only.
Secondly, I tried with following one by one :
1. Find a new jdbc driver
2. Write a different stored procedure.I am using DB2 Express edition - DB2 v9.7.0.0
I have the required jar files - i)db2jcc.jar ii) db2jcc_license_cu.jar
From these I found the available jdbc drivers as -
i) com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver
ii) COM.ibm.db2os390.sqlj.jdbc.DB2SQLJDriver
iii) com.ibm.db2.jcc.uw.DB2StoredProcDriver
I tried out my code by using each of these drivers, but still returning result set as null.
Moreover, I changed my stored procedure which has cursor returning result set. In this case also, result set is null.
Code snippet for this SP is -
