On comment enabling document rights restricted

Dear all,
We are enabling comment option for Adobe Reader extend features using acrobat 9 proffesional on that document rights has been restricted for the below listed process
Changing document
Document assembly
Filling of form fields
Signing
Creation of template pages
For the rights disable we are using save as copy option in acrobat 9 proffesional to retrieve the restriction.
We like to automate the save as copy option using acrobat sdk 9.
For this what function in sdk to automate the process save as copy.
Please help me on this.
We tried on using the below the function
existingSecData = (StdSecurityData)PDDocGetSecurityData(newDoc);
PDPerms docPerms = PDDocAuthorize(newDoc, pdPermAll, existingSecData);
PDDocSave (newDoc, PDSaveCopy | PDSaveLinearized, pathName, NULL, NULL, NULL);

Adobe Reader on Windows and OS X are identical in their feature set - although there is a new ability with Reader XI to save filled-in PDF forms without needing extended rights, there are no editing tools.
If you are talking about commenting instead of editing, then Reader can apply only basic comments to a non-extended PDF (highlight and sticky note). To unlock the full range of commenting and markup tools requires reader-extension to be applied in Acrobat, but if this has not been done then a Reader user will not even see the other tools.

You need Acrobat to enable document rights.

  • How do enable document rights so i can put in a text box on pdf document?

I have a scanned document which has been saved as pdf.
I need to add a text box where I will write a name.   Afterwards, I would like to print it out.
But,when I clicked on the "text box tool" and "pencil eraser tool" under tools, there is a message that states "*Only available when document rights is enabled".  See below.
How do I enable document rights so I can add a text box to a saved pdf?

    Hi ianb766993,
It sounds as though you have the PDF open in Reader, which doesn't have the same editing capabilities that Acrobat has. Did you use Acrobat to create the PDF from the scanned document or did you receive the PDF from somebody else? If you have Acrobat, please make sure that you're opening the PDF in Acrobat if you want to edit it.
If you don't have Acrobat, feel free to download a 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html. Then, you can open the PDF in Acrobat, make the changes that you want using the editing tools, and print the updated PDF.

  • Keyboard short-cuts and comment-enabled PDF's

I'm running AR7.0.9 under SuSE 10.1 and I have the following problem when working with a comment-enabled document, such as the JavaScript reference manual. Once I've used the highlighting tool, whose keyboard short-cut is U, I find that I can no longer enter the letter U when composing a note. Similarly, once I've added an attachment, whose keyboard short-cut is J,
I can no longer enter J into a note. Is this a known problem?
Or is there something wrong with my setup?

  • Only available when document rights are enabled

    Hi,
    Adobe 9.4.6, Ubuntu Natty
When I open a pdf file with PDFXchange reader running in Wine, I can highlight text in the file.
When I open the same file with Adobe I cant even dipslay the highlight toolbar, it says "Only available when document rights are enabled"
    How can I fix this?

If by Adobe you mean Adobe Reader, then that would be normal for Reader 9, if you're talking about the Hightlight Text annotation tool. Reader 10 allows you to add text highlights and sticky note annotations without the document having the corresponding usage rights, assuming it doesn't have any security restrictions that would prevent it. Other PDF viewers are free to behave however they want.

  • Enable Usage Rights to Multiple Documents at the same time

I was wondering if there is a way to add Enable Usage Rights to Multiple Documents at the Same Time?

Not with Acrobat. Adobe's LiveCycle Reader Extensions application is

  • How to get crop tool in comment enabled pdf file?

    Hi,
I want to place comments in pdf file using Reader 9. So i opened the pdf file in acrobat 8 and did 'Enable for commenting in Adobe Reader' so that i place the comments in Reader. I need all advanced editing tools. But when i comment enabled Crop tool will disappear. How can i enable crop tool in comment enable pdf?
    Thanks in advance...

You can't. By enabling commenting, you're adding certain usage rights to the document. In order for those usage rights to be preserved, certain types of changes (most) need to be prevented. If such changes were allowed (and actually made), the usage rights would be invalid and Reader would no longer be able to add comments to the file. So you can enable commenting in Reader, or allow for other changes in Acrobat, but not both with the same file.

  • Enabling Usage Rights on Livecycle PDF Causes Problems with Table

I have a form that uses a script to dynamically add rows to a table.  Everything works great, except that once I enable usage rights on the PDF, the header row repeats 3 times on the document.
LINK TO DOCUMENT WITHOUT USAGE RIGHTS  (link removed) Everything works perfectly, but once I enable usage rights...
LINK TO DOCUMENT WITH USAGE RIGHTS (link removed) As you can see the table is all messed up. The header row repeats 3 times.
I am at a loss as to why this is happening. If anyone has any ideas, I would be greatful!
EDIT:  Okay so I figured out what my problem was for anyone else who has this problem. I UNCHECKED: "Repeat Row for Each Data Item" in the Object Properties of the Header Row.  No more repeating headers!

    Hi Sachin,
Just run into a solution. You should upgrage to Reader Extensions v7.0.2 for this to work. Read the section
"Enabling commenting in a PDF document rendered in a web browser"
in the ReadMe.htm file that accompanies Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions Version 7.0.2
The procedure described lets you enable Adobe Reader 7.0 and later to allow commenting when the PDF document is rendered in a web browser, similar to Adobe Reader 6.0.

  • Applying password security & comment enable to PDF

    Hi all,
This is my second discussion reg. the livecycle PDF Generator ES.
First discussion was completed successfully with the help of "Jasmine".
We got a requirement from production team, stating that they will provide the "water marked" pdf.
They wanted back with password security and comment enable pdf.
Is this possible to do it in live cycle.
I check in livecycle they given provision only in PS to PDF not for the direct PDF.

Its rather difficult to explain over the forum, but basically the invokeDDX action takes a map of documents and the DDX file.  The key of the map matches with the source values in the DDX. For example, if I have an entry in my DDX like:  <PDF source=”doc1.source” />  then I need an entry in my Map with the key doc1.source.
You can either create the map outside of the invokeDDX operation (for example in a setValue) or you can use the operation's property sheet to enter values.
As for the DDX - if you are using ES2, then you can create one using the Document Builder by right clicking on your project and selecting New->Assembly Descriptor.
With earlier versions of the product you can create the DDX in the invokeDDX operation itself.
The following help file may clear things up:

  • How to Restrict printing the document using IRM for a Single Document?Allow printing for some documents and restrict the printing for particular documents in same document library?

Can we able to Configure the IRM in Document Level in SharePoint Document libraries?
The document library contains multiple document sets , Can we restrict the printing according to document sets? Allow printing for some documents and restrict the printing for particular documents in same document library
     Is this possible?Please suggest.

Yes, that can be done. But note that all administrators will have the same right to print, so you need to make sure the users are not administrators. You can include a macro to disable printing, but if the users disable macro, they can print the documents.
Hence, there is no foolproof way to prevent printing documents. If you still need a foolproof security, PDF format provides password based security (viewing doesn't require a password) that can be implemented to prevent the document from printing,
which doesn't require any special scripts and is tough.

  • Why is Enable Usage Rights creating Duplicate Pages?

I have created a dynamic PDF form in LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2.  The form is formatted correctly and has no duplicate pages when examining the not-enabled form in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.  However, when I attempt to Enable Usage Rights so that external users can download the form and fill in the fields, the ENABLED version has duplicate pages.  I do not understand why because the original document does not have these duplicates - they only appear when I Enable the Usage Rights.  I cannot delete these duplicate pages in the Enabled version.  Please help!

hello, these are the files where firefox stores its cache - you won't need ccleaner (in fact it will only slow things down as you've already noticed, since those files have to be recreated after the next start of the browser), you can also clear the cache with the built-in mechanism in firefox: [[How to clear the Firefox cache]]

  • Acrobat 8 Form - "This Operation Not Permitted" error when enable user rights and open Reader X

I have a form which is causing me fits.  It was created from an existing PDF form to which I added data fields using LifeCyele Designer.
When I enable user rights to the document and try to open it in either Adobe Reader X or Acrobat 8 Pro I get the message "This operation is not permitted" twice.  Once I get rid of the messages the form works fine.
Is there a way to upload the form to this forum for someone to look at it?
With my limited knowledge, I did try to investigate embeded font issues and hidden object issues.  But after much work I've not gotten much closer to a resolution.
    Best,
    David

You cannot upload the file to the forum, but you can use Acrobat.com or Dropbox if you have an account. If you ha e no other options I'd be happy to take a look: acroscript at gmail dot com

  • Commenting Enabled in One Mac, Not Another

    1) I generate my docs in Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Pro.
    2) I enable "Enable for Commenting and Analysis in Adobe Reader".
    3) User number 1, using Adobe Reader 8 on a Mac, opens this document and is able to add comments. Preferences show "commenting allowed"
    4) User number 2, also using Adobe Reader 8 on a Mac, opens this SAME document an is not able to add comments. Preferences show "commenting not allowed".
    5) Analyze original PDF in Acrobat. Shows commenting enabled.
There isn't a reader for Mac forum...any ideas here?
    Thanks!

    aaah....
They are pulling it from a public sharepoint site...and I haven't given developer #2 permissions. I'll try that and post again if it doesn't work. Thanks much!
