On passing XmlObject to webservice , Root element is truncated

Hi,
I am using weblogic 8.1 SP2
I have created a XmlObject and when I am passing it on the Webservice deployed
on .NET environment. Root element of Input XML from WLI is getting truncated.
When WLI generated a SOAP Body, it doesnt take RootElement. So problem seems to
be with WLI only.
XML :
<JobChangeDataTransfer xmlns="http://albertsons.com//HIRETERM" >
<TransactionID>TEST_ALBERTSONS</TransactionID>
<FormatNumber>TEST_ALBERTSONS</FormatNumber>
</JobChangeDataTransfer>
SOAP Message :
<SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"

    hi,
    I am working on consuming webservice which has a WSDL to get the RouteDetails with a structure like:

    <Street>XYZ</Street>

    <City>Bangalore</City>
    <Country>India</Country>
    <PostalCode>500067</PostalCode>
    </Destination>
    When I am calling the method RouteDetails of the proxy I created, I am getting the error 'There are multiple root elements in line 1 column 178 and the column is indicating <HouseNumber> in <Destination> node.
    Please let me know how to overcome this.

  • Getting oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start Of root Element

    Hi All,
    I am getting below error while creating STUB/Skeleton in Jdeveloper to call a web service from OAF Page But getting below error while trying to creating Stub/Skeleton to call weservice
    ERROR:
    oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start Of root Element
    Any suggestion on This
    P.S: I am calling a third party web service so can not able to make changes in XML
    Regards,
    903096

    Possibility is that there is a problem in the XML that is being passed. Can you double check with the third party software? Also check if you can try it outside OA Framework first and then if its tested you can integrate with EBS.

  • Oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start of root element expected

    Hi,
    while trying to get a soapelement from xml file, i have the error : oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start of root element expected
    the code i m using is as follow :
    public static SOAPMessage XMLDocToSOAP(String soapBodyAsString ) throws SAXException, IOException,
    SOAPException,
    ParserConfigurationException {
    SOAPMessage message = null;
    DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    dbf.setNamespaceAware(true);
    InputStream is = new ByteArrayInputStream(soapBodyAsString.getBytes());
    Document doc = dbf.newDocumentBuilder().parse(is);
    MessageFactory factory = MessageFactory.newInstance();
    message = factory.createMessage();
    message.saveChanges();
    SOAPBodyElement element = message.getSOAPBody().addDocument(doc);
    return message;
    }

    Looks like the XML you are passing is not valid. Check that the XML complies the the definition.
    Also can you post a XML that works and the one that fails.
    cheers
    James

  • Root element is missing - Response from a WCF service - WCF-Custom adapter

    hi BizTalk experts,
    In the production environment, as soon as the response is getting subscribed by the orchestration, the orchestration instance is getting suspended and the error that shows up in console is
    "Root element is missing".
    I have checked the actual response message in the console it is a well formed xml. This is happening only for a few responses from the WCF services. A majority of them are getting processed successfully. I have tried getting the parsing the response in a
    pipeline (using custom pipeline component, the production one uses xml receive) and pass it to the orchestration, but it fails giving the same error.
    Thanks in advance.

    Do you have any mapping done on the response message from the WCF service . ?
    If so Better to copy the suspended message coming from the WCF service and validate against the custom response Schema you have created.
    Note : You can try running fiddler tool to check the response from from the web service incase of failure.
    Also try logging the message in the event viewer or any debug tool.
    Thanks
    Abhishek

  • How to customize attribute in root element?

    I'm using TSQL to generate an XML file from a SELECT query.  I'm 99% of the way to creating the precise format the client requires.  Here's the top portion of what I currently have:
    <Feed>
    <Interaction>
    <TransactionDate>2012-01-17T19:18:26.703</TransactionDate>
    The ONLY thing I want to change is to add an attribute to the root element so that things look like this:
    <Feed xmlns="http://www.bazaarvoice.com/xs/PRR/PostPurchaseFeed/5.6">
    <Interaction>
    <TransactionDate>2012-01-17T19:18:26.703</TransactionDate>
    That's it.  But I've read 20+ different discussions about this and nothing works.
    Might anyone have a solution?

  • WSDL incorrect - in XSD elements always must be the root element?

    Hi!
    First of all, sorry about my english, but I'm not accustomed to write in this language ;-)
    We're trying to publish a Webservice with JAXWS and with a classes generated via JAXB parsing a group of XSD files, always in a maven project with java 5.
    More explained the steps we are trying to follow:
    1) parse the XSD files with JAXB and generate a JAR file to be included like a dependency in the webapp
    2) use the classes packaged in the JAR in other maven project and define and deploy a webapp with the webservice using JAXWS defining a SEI that uses and returns a Type included in the JAR generated in the previous step. Here it is the interface that implements the SEI:
    @WebMethod
         public TESTELEMENT test(
                   @WebParam(name = "test")
                   TESTELEMENT element);The problem seems to be that if the elements in the original XSD files aren't root elements the WSDL generated is incorrect.
    Here there are the XSD files we are using and the WSDL error result (XMLSpy dixit, "ns1:Example" must refer to an existing element).
    Anyone knows what happens?
    Thank you in advance and sorry about this large message!

    About my last post, say that the WSDL generated, in fact, was generated with CXF, sorry.
    Using JAXWS (wsgen to be more explicit) the WSDL results still are not ok, as you can see, the error is in the last ns1:Example reference in ServeiTestBO_schema1.xsd, that XMLSpy says that doesn't exists :-( :

  • Error parsing envelope: (1, 1) Start of root element expected.

    Hello BI Publisher:
    The issue has been resolved. I found the cause the problem. The following line in my WSDL was preventing BI Publisher from reading the WSDL, which will return the "Error parsing envelope" message:
    <xsd:attribute name="dateTimeTagFormat" fixed="xsd" use="required"/>
    Once I removed the above line, BI Publisher was able to read the WSDL without any issues, and run the report.

    Hello BI Publisher:
    I am trying to define a new dataset of type "Web Service", with a Complex Type configuration using WS-Security 2004. I get the following error when I try to "View" it:
    **"javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Error parsing envelope: (1, 1) Start of root element expected."**
    This happens even if my Application Server (where the service is located) is not running, so I suspect that the error happens before the Publisher server tries to send the SOAP envevelop to the service server.
    Publisher Version: Release 10.1.3.4
    Complex Type: True
    Username: User1
    Password: ******
    Time Out: 60
    WSDL URL: http://localhost:4100/spl/XAIApp/xaiserver/ZZ_BIP_XAI_ZF?WSDL

    Hello BI Publisher:
    The issue has been resolved. I found the cause the problem. The following line in my WSDL was preventing BI Publisher from reading the WSDL, which will return the "Error parsing envelope" message:
    <xsd:attribute name="dateTimeTagFormat" fixed="xsd" use="required"/>

  • Namespace Prefix in the Root Element of the variable

    Hi Gurus,
    We need to call a webservice which requires a namespace prefix at the root elemnt of the xml payload. But as we know that the default behaviour of BPEL removes the prefix so the invoke activity is failing and so we are stuck.
    I found this thread Namespace prefix in Root element missing during variable assignment but i feel the solution specified in this link works only in SOA 10g environment Please let us know what needs to be done?
    Appreciate a prompt response.
    NOTE: SOA Suite Version- 11.1.1.4
    Regards
    Ayush

    Hi All,
    we are also facing the same issue, Please provide the solution if anyone knows. We are also using the SOA Suite 11g Version.

  • Read XML root element tag in Java

    Is there any way I can read the tag of the root element? Based on the tag, I process the XML differently.
    Thank you.

    I think I figured it out. I can accomplish this by using the getTagName method. Sorry for the lack of detail in my original question.
    For those interested, I have a class that has XML passed to it. Depending on what the root tag name is, different activities needed to take place. I needed a way to read the tag in order to determine what actions needed to be performed.
    Thank you.

  • Insert new tags after root element

    Hi,
    I'm trying to insert new tags immediately after the root element in a DOM tree. The data to be inserted is being passed to the program as a string parameter. I've used Dom4J to add the data as a new element immediatelty after the root. Problem is, I'm not able to extract the content as a String from the document object. Here's my sample code :
    String addStr = "<div class=\"test2\">Test Val1</div><div class=\"test2\">Test Val2</div>";
    SAXReader reader = new SAXReader();
    String xml = "<div class=\"discussionThread dt\"><div class=\"dt_subject\">2011 IS HERE!</div></div>";
    Document document = reader.read(new StringReader(xml));
    DefaultElement newElement = new DefaultElement("div");
    newElement.addAttribute("class", "test");
    newElement.add(new DefaultText(addStr));
    List content = document.getRootElement().content();
    if (content != null ) {
            content.add(0, newElement);
    }There are couple of issues with this approach.
    1. I'm not able to find a way to convert the Document object content to String. The only API reference is asXML() which converts the document to a xml and sends it back as String. As a result of this, it adds a <xml> tag at the top.Also,the content within the added String has been parsed and converted to &gt; , &lt;
    Here's the output
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <div class="discussionThread dt"><div class="test">&lt;div class="test2"&gt;Test Val1&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="test2"&gt;Test Val2&lt;/div&gt;</div><div class="dt_subject">2011 IS HERE!</div></div>Just wanted to know if there's a better way to do this. Any pointers will be highly appreciated.
    -Thanks

    from oracle documentation...
    Old and new values are available in both BEFORE and AFTER row triggers. A new column value can be assigned in a BEFORE row trigger, but not in an AFTER row trigger (because the triggering statement takes effect before an AFTER row trigger is fired). If a BEFORE row trigger changes the value of new.column, then an AFTER row trigger fired by the same statement sees the change assigned by the BEFORE row trigger.

  • The markup in the document following the root element must be well-formed.

    I have my XML root element that looks like this:
    <DataResponseOfListOfSite xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www
    .w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="http://xxxxxx/webservices/sites/">
    and I get the error "The markup in the document following the root element must be well-formed."
    If I use this it works fine:
    <DataResponseOfListOfSite xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www
    .w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://xxxxxx/webservices/sites/">
    Does anyone know why I have to have the xmlns:xsi="" instead of just xmlns=""
    If I paste this XML into any validator, it says that its good, so I dont know why Flex is complaining about it.

    In the first one you have two namespaces both with the same prefix.
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" and xmlns:xsi="http://xxxxxx/webservices/sites/"

  • Xsl:include msg - document following root element must be well-formed

    I am getting the following message when I try to execute a transaction that takes an XML file & transforms it.  The message is:
    "[ERROR]: XSLTransform error: javax.xml.transform.TransformerConfigurationException: javax.xml.transform.TransformerException: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The markup in the document following the root element must be well-formed."
    The transaction loads an xml input file, and then transforms it.  The transformation stylesheet does some formatting to the xml.  The stylesheet has an include in it that adds an element to the output.
    Input XML data
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Rowset>
        <Row>
            <ItemNo>00000000001884304</ItemNo>
            <ItemDesc>Test Item Description</ItemDesc>
        </Row>
    </Rowset>
    Expected output:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Item>
        <Items ItemDesc="Test Item Description" RawItemNo="00000000001884304" dotties="...................." editedItemNo="1884304" supernova="**********" />
    </Item>
    If I point the <xsl:include to a web folder on a test box, it will read & translate the data into the expected output.  However, when I have both the initial stylesheet and the include stylesheet in the same Web folder in MII, I get the above message.  If the URL is any different, it generates an IO error.
    The initial stylesheet is
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" >
    <xsl:output method="xml" />
    <xsl:include href="http://myserver:myport/XMII/CM/foldername/testcalls_2.xsl"/>
    <xsl:variable name="wrkitem" select="//ItemNo"/>
    <xsl:template match="Row">
         <xsl:call-template name="RowEdit"/>
    </xsl:template>
    <xsl:template name="RowEdit" match="Row">

         <xsl:attribute name="dotties">

                         <xsl:with-param name="count" select="20"/>
                  </xsl:call-template>
         </xsl:attribute>
         <xsl:attribute name="supernova">
              <xsl:call-template name="stars">

         </xsl:attribute>
    </xsl:attribute-set>
      <xsl:template name="dots">
            <xsl:param name="count" select="1"/>
          <xsl:if test="$count > 0">
            <xsl:text>.</xsl:text>
            <xsl:call-template name="dots">
              <xsl:with-param name="count" select="$count - 1"/>
            </xsl:call-template>
          </xsl:if>
      </xsl:template>
    <xsl:template name="removeLeadingZeros">
      <xsl:param name="originalString"/>
      <xsl:choose>
        <xsl:when test="starts-with($originalString,'0')">
          <xsl:call-template name="removeLeadingZeros">
            <xsl:with-param name="originalString">
              <xsl:value-of select="substring-after($originalString,'0' )"/>
            </xsl:with-param>
          </xsl:call-template>
        </xsl:when>
        <xsl:otherwise>
          <xsl:value-of select="$originalString"/>
        </xsl:otherwise>
      </xsl:choose>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    and the stylesheet being called by the xsl:include -
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <xsl:template name="stars" match="Item">
    <Stars>
         <xsl:element name="BBB">
              <xsl:text>**********</xsl:text>
         </xsl:element>
    </Stars>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    FYI, both of the stylesheets above are in the same folder on the WEB tab in MII.  The full name (properties tab) is:
    foldername/WEB/Test/stylesheet.xsl
    Also, I am able to browse & view each of them in IE.  The url they are at is:
    http://server:port/XMII/CM/foldername/test/stylesheet.xsl
    Both stylesheets appear to be well-formed.
    If I use any other syntax other than the full URL, the error it generates is an IO Exception on the included stylesheet.  The markup message above makes me believe that it is at least attempting to handle the included stylesheet.
    In the Link editor of the xsl Transformation Incoming tab, there are two assignments being made.
    1.  Transform property
    object= xsl_transformation_0
    property=Transform
    expression="db://foldername/WEB/Test/stylesheet.xsl" (this is the initial, not included stylesheet)
    Link type=Assign Value
    2.  Input property
    object= xsl_transformation_0
    property=Input
    Expression=testitems_0.XmlContent
    Link type=Assign XML
    Running MII 12.0
    Thoughts?  Any input appreciated.

  • E4X: What happens to the root element?

    I'm working with XML using the E4X notation. I'm used to the "old school" XML APIs that use DOM and I'm a bit confused.
    For example, let's consider the following XML
    <mx:XML id="myXML" >
      <top>
        <sub1 id="uno">
          <sub2>hello</sub2>
          <sub3>world</sub3>
        </sub1>
        <sub1 id="duo">
          <sub2>ok</sub2>
          <sub3>ko</sub3>
        </sub1>
      </top>
    </mx:XML>
    In my code I use the following traces. This is done with the De MonsterDebugger, but all others should work the same way. I have casted the traces to String only to make it easier to ask this question (no need post images)
    MonsterDebugger.trace(this, "myXML:" + myXML);
    MonsterDebugger.trace(this, "myXML.sub1: " + myXML.sub1);
    MonsterDebugger.trace(this, "myXML.sub1.sub2: " + myXML.sub1.sub2);
    What I get as output is
    (String) = myXML:<top>
      <sub1 id="uno">
        <sub2>hello</sub2>
        <sub3>world</sub3>
      </sub1>
      <sub1 id="duo">
        <sub2>ok</sub2>
        <sub3>ko</sub3>
      </sub1>
    </top>
    (String) = myXML.sub1: <sub1 id="uno">
      <sub2>hello</sub2>
      <sub3>world</sub3>
    </sub1>
    <sub1 id="duo">
      <sub2>ok</sub2>
      <sub3>ko</sub3>
    </sub1>
    (String) = myXML.sub1.sub2: <sub2>hello</sub2>
    <sub2>ok</sub2>
    All is fine above and this was a bit long abstract for my question. The question is what happens to the root element, in this case <top>? I was trying to access the data with the following notation
    myXML.top.sub1; // etc
    I spent quite a lot of time trying to get it to work, until I discovered that the root element is not used. Can anyone explain this?
    Or, I guess the simple explanation is that the root node is ignored and the sub nodes are created as properties of the object. The question also could be stated as: Why isn't this documented in the Flex API Reference?
    Thanks.
    P.S. I found this article on common E4X pitfalls which also has other interesting topics when working with E4X.
