One hardware fader to control two faders in Mainstage via select button

Hi,
I try to use one hardware fader von a VMK161 plus controller keyboard to control two faders in Mainstage independently. I want to use a "Select button" where I can route the hardware MIDI fader signal to either 1st or 2nd fader in Mainstage.
Any idea how to do this?

Unless there is a quick way of re-configuring your hardware fader to send 2 different MIDI messages, I think you are out of luck. I am pretty sure that there is no way to "switch" which Screen Control is active within MS.

I have two fpga because I need more than 8 analogue output and analogue input. I wonder if I can use one fpga vi to control two targets (the two FPGA boards I use are PCI-7833R) so that the outputs can be synchronized. I think if it's possible it'll be easier to implement the synchronization between while loops,etc. If it's not possible, how can I interface between between fpga.vi and make the synchronization possible and make two vi's talk to each other? I have successfully ran the same code on two (2) different FPGA boards. The difference being that the host will use different Aliases to control the FPGA boards,
Both FPGA Boards MUST be the same type ( I used PXI-7811s).
My program consisted of 6 individual communication portals and there was NO synchronization between boards

and i tried to conduct two contouring operation on two vector space. and tried to clear or configuring buffer for one vector when another one is still moving. so that i can start or end the movement at any time i want,and it is ok.no error. but when i tried add a buffer breakpoint output along with each vector movement. the bp doesn't work if the other vector is running . is there anyway to solve this problem.

I think you've misunderstood what the dns attribute is for. The dns attribute returns the hostname of the client accessing your website, not the hostname of the website that linked to your website.
For example, when someone using the Comcast ISP goes to a malicious website at example.com that loads images from your website at www.amigoo.net, the dns attribute will be something like "c-1-2-3-4.ca.comcast.net", not "example.com". ACLs are used for authentication and authorization of clients (not the websites those clients chose to visit), and they don't provide the functionality you're looking for.
If I understand correctly, you want to prevent websites other than amigoo.net from linking to files in your d:/webserver/imat/pics_upload directory. You can achieve this adding the following lines to your obj.conf configuration file:

How to use one Combo Box to control Two spreadsheet/charts in Web Analysis

In Web Analysis panel, I have one data grid and one chart (two different data sources). I would like to have one combo box, e.g. Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, in the selection (drop-down). When I select Q1, I would like to show Jan, Feb, Mar, Q1 ( ICHILDREN(Q1)) in my chart, and also only Q1 in my data grid.

I believe you can do this. For example you want to have a Chart and Graph linked to a drop down for products. When you select a product, the two POV's will change on the reports.
Look at Panels in WA. I create a report with three panels. Make the first panel top aligned, the second top aligned and the third stretched. This should make the report "stretchy". Then add your dropdown to one panel and your reports to the other two panels.
Finally link the reports to dropdown using the re-linking technique mentioned in the previous post.

Possible to use Mackie Logic Control to control volume faders in MainStage

Hi, is it possible to get Mackie Logic Control to work with the volume faders of the various channel strips in MainStage. Is seems Mackie Control is automatically mapped when using Logic - but MainStage doesn't seem to automatically map faders unless I am missing something. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I can disable one of my MacBook's two CPUs using the CPUPalette application. How can I do it under control of a script?

I can disable one of my MacBook's two processors using the CPUPalette application. How can I do it under control of a script?
I want to do this because the MacBook is overheating. I will soon get it repaired, but in the meantime, disabling CPU 2 is effective at preventing overheating. Sadly CPUPalette is not scriptable, and it won't remember its setting after the computer is restarted.
Would it be worth learning about the relevant Darwin API (supposing there is one) and writing a small command-line program for the job? I am an experienced developer of software using Standard C.

Control two functions on one button click

Hello,
first off, I am relatively new to actionscript 3.0. I was
wondering if anyone knows how I can control two events on one (the
same) button click. On click, the first function must jump the user
to a particular frame label and at the same time trigger a second
function which is a movie clip on that particular frame. I must
note that the event listener is attached to an actual Button and
not a movie clip.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

WAD Help: Need for one dropdown to control two characteristic InfoObjects

All,
I have a dashboard built in WAD that contains several charts. There are several data providers and I have created a few simple dropdowns to apply filters. Here lies my problem:
For one specific characteristic, "business unit", in one data provider the InfoObject is "0material_zgbu"(nav attribute of 0material). In another data provider, the InfoObject is "0prft_ctr_zgbu" (nav attribute of 0prft_ctr).
What is the best way to make the dropdown selection apply a filter to both characteristics? Can I force a dropdown to control two characteristics?
Should I create a hidden dropdown to control the 2nd and somehow pass the selected value to it using code?
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

(fyi.... I am using version 2004s)

If you feel both Drop Down Boxes will have Same values... then you can display only one Drop Down Box. Once you select any Value, you can trigger a command which will display values for both Data Providers.
Let me know if you need any further explanation.
Note: this will work only if both Drop Down Boxes has same Charecterstics Values.

Can the Sound Object control two sounds at once?

I have a sound object that I want to control two seperate
sounds in different movie clips..one is intro music which lives on
the main shell of the website along with the sound object. This
fades out into a loop that lives on another movie clip that loads
into the shell on a loadMovie action naturally.
My goal:
To control both sound clips with ONE sound object living in
the main flash site's shell. Can this be done or would I have to
have two seperate sound objects for each sound clip?

You could write a fairly simple class that would act as a
wrapper for the sound class. In this class you would let it define
the 2 sound objects but then you would only need to use call to the
class object to control both. This could also be expanded to
control more than 2 sounds. It is not exactly what you were hoping
for but in the long term it would simplify sound control and be
reusable in pretty much any setting that required sound.

I want to use Labview to control two Picomotor actuators(belong to channel A ,C) successively through Model 8753 iPico driver.Since the example VI's
(Application.vi) from Newport's website just control one actuator at one time, so I copied the example code, thus there are two repetitive sections (see the attachment) in
the while loop structure. The test result was that two Picomotor actuators moved to respective target position circularly. And I found the test was correct when two Picomotor actuators belonged to different address. Can anyone tell why ,what should I do? Any assistance with this matter is greatly appreciated.

I had a look at the examples and obviously all it does is to communicate to the drive through RS232 with a proprietary protocol. With the documentation in the block diagram and the documentation of the protocol it shouldn't be too hard to understand what's going on, but on the other side NewFocus has obviously missed a chance to provide a high level and easy to use API for their product...
I can't dive too deeply into the features of this drive, but before you spend too much time on understanding their command language, you should check with NewFocus, if it is possible at all to meet your requirements with their hardware. The main reason why I doubt that is the slow communication speed provided by RS232. The only way to reach a sinusoidal motion profile of 30 to 70 Hz with this type of communication is running the complete trajectory generation and interpolation onboard. If you have planned to generate the motion profile in LabVIEW and send setpoint commands to the drive this will probably not work.
If the drive provides another command input (e. g. an analog +/- 10 V input for torque or velocity command signals), we can talk about alternative approaches.

Can users have one iTunes library deriving from two drives?

Hi everyone,
I keep my 4 & 5 star songs on my C drive and the rest (all stars, 1,2 3, etc.) on my exhternal hard drive.
Whenever I want to listen to my music, all I can readily play are the tunes on my C drive.
I'm guessing the issues having one library for tunes stored on separate drives is insurmountable?
I say that because I'm guessing that my iPod (4th gen) is only capable of importing from one library?
I think the biggest issue is either I don't know how to (or maybe users can't) list a second drive so that iTunes can load all songs from both drives whenever I do have the second drive up and running.
Adding to the second drive library issue, I can't figure out how to permanently tag my external HD's (I've got 6) so that their drive letter is not automatically defaulting to their order of prescence.
I can deal with that issue by simply not opening iTunes while I the second drive has been assigned a drive letter other than what iTunes (hopefully) is set to (i.e.; hopefully C and F drives).
But can users have one iTunes library deriving from two drives?

Seems I've over come what is something I'd hoped/expected iTunes would be capable of (ie; reinitiating the pathway for external HD music files when their drive letter is the only thing that changed).
I tried the obvious by going to iTunes's Edit>Preferences>Advanced and clicking the change button for "iTunes Music folder location", then entered the current drive and pathway (as the drive is currently assigned, F as opposed to the original G) and of course iTunes still couldn;t find the missing tunes.
Giving up on the hope that iTunes was designed smarter than it is (ie; each and every single missing tune req's manual redirection of pathway, as opposed to a preferable tick box for something like 'use the last redirected pathway').
And I finally figured out how to properly changed drive letter assignments, but still uncertasin if that means permanently tags my EHD's with that drive letter.
For that to be permanent, maybe I need to name each drive regardless that Windows already has unique inforamtion on each HD. Suppose I'll soon find out if the drive at this point has fianlly stored its drive name and whether or not Windows will contiue to change the EHD drive letters simply by the order which I am introducing them to the os.
No real luck with rats nest USB hubs as they crash my os alot, so I'm left to trying to find an easy way of managing the EHD drive assignments. THe following is the closest I've yet to come to doing that:
Click Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management, and then in the left pane, under Storage, click Disk Management.
Right-click the drive, partition, logical drive, or volume for which you want to assign a drive letter, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
Click Change.
Click Assign the following drive letter (if it is not already selected), click the drive letter that you want to use, and then click OK.
Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the drive letter change.
Again, too bad iTunes doesn't afford a 'find' feature for 'missing' files such that one might be afforded a tick box for 'do not prompt again, instead use the last indicated location for "iTunes Music" folder as the base storage location'.
This drive renaming thing is a real hassle. Not like somebody couldn't have guessed it and Windows and/or iTunes can't afford some script, etc. to better manage 'tagging' EHD's and/or re-locating 'missing' tunes.
But then what would we have to complain about, not that they listen anyway.

Here I also offer you an method you can try.Please delete the extra (parasite) zone from the Zones subkey :
Click Start , click Run , type regedit , and then click OK
Expand the following registry subkey
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones
Delete the extra (parasite) zone from the Zones subkey
Note: The parasite zone is a pseudo-graphic number listed before zone number 0. The pseudo-graphic number looks like a miniature upper case "L"

Control two different parameters at the same time

Two motors were connected each other rigidly. One motor controlled torque and the other motor controlled speed. I generated some torque and speed data which represented one cycle of motion from a motor simulation. I like to send these two different data sets (torque and speed) to two different motors at the same time. Torque data sends to one motor and speed data sends to the other motor to see the response of the load profile. In order to do this, I thought about using multithread, but I am not sure it will work for this application. Usually multithreading delay the CPU time so the overall control process might be delayed, right? If you have better idea, please let me know.

If you are using one motion controller to control both motors, you will probably run into problems if you try to use multithreading on the PC. However, you can execute up to 10 programs (threads) at a time, in addition to host communication, using on-board programming. One trial balance out of two company codes

Our clinet has two company codes in legacy system, now we are implimenting SAP.
In legacy system, company codes are combined into one overall trail balance. Once in SAP they will there be two separate LEu2019s. Will they be required to apply transfer pricing methodology for intercompany movements between themselves ?.
Please advise how to configure this?

Please note - people will not share config guides or notes so you may want to ask a particular question around transfer pricing.
If you have 2 Company Codes in ERP 6, that have the same controlling Area, FSV you can produce trial balances for more than one company code by activating the new GL.
It seems your client is new to SAP, therefore the new GL will be activated as standard. The standard transaction F.01 allows for a single trial balance for 2 company codes, that have the same CoA, Controlling Area and currency.

Change print preference back to one side from printing on two sides

We have an HP Officejet 6500 E7 10n-z with the duplexer installed. I have set the printer to print front and back and when I want to print on just one side I can't seem to get the printer back to single side. I go to layout and printer setting preferences and it appears to be set for one side but then it prints on both sides. I'm obviously missing a step. Does anyone have a solution?

Hi,
Make sure the Two-sided Printing been set to one side both under Control Panel > Printers and under the Preferences settings within the application being used to print.
While changing from the control panel affect the whole system, changing the settings from any application (e.g. word) will remain as configured by the specific application.
Open the document you want to print, then click File > Print.
Clic the Properties / Preferences button within the print dialog, then verify the setting.
