One iPod, Two different problems

First off, the ipod's clickwheel doesn't work. Not uncommon. If somebody would help me fix this problem that would be great. More importantly though, I was trying to see if I could fix, and now, the iPod doesn't stay on unless I hold down a button. I push and hold any of the five buttons under the clickwheel, and it will boot up but need restoring. If at any time I let go of the button I am holding, the iPod will shut off. Very curious problem, haven't seen anything like it before. Perhaps the lack of a separate connection, or the grounding tape between the screen and the clickwheel board? Please help! Not entirely sure if this is iPod classic or 5th gen, if they are the same or not...

Plz I need help.

Click here and follow the instructions, or network the computers and move the songs over.

  • One computer, two different ipods, one shared library?

Is there a way to setup two different ipods on one computer. I currently have my ipod library setup on an external drive. I setup a separate user profile for my husband. I pointed the library to my external drive, but no music files show up on his account. I also tried setting up home sharing....don't see library files under home sharing.....help please!

*How to use multiple iPods with one computer*
The Apple support document How to use multiple iPods with one computer suggests a number of ways. I use method two (Sync with selected playlists) with a slight twist. Rather than regular playlists I set the grouping field to indicate which users should receive which tracks and create smart playlists based on the content of this field.
    e.g.
"Alice's Tracks" is "Grouping contains Alice" + "Kind contains audio"
"Bob's Videos" is "Grouping contains Bob" + "Kind does not contain audio"
Tracks that both Alice & Bob want on their iPods have the grouping set to "Alice/Bob"
    etc.
I currently manage our family's five iPods using this system, each getting a different selection to suit their tastes and the capacity of their iPod. An advantage of using the grouping field is that it is stored in file tags (for non-wav audio files anyway) so that it is relatively easy to recreate the playlists should the iTunes library get trashed. Also useful if you move files about manually as playlist membership is preserved when you delete & re-import the tracks.

  • One query two different Group By

In My parameter two option one and two.
if i select one, need to come this group by:-
    GROUP BY
    Name1,
    Name2,
    Country,
    MCC || '/' | MNC
    One Output:
    Name1 -  Name2 - Country  - PNR
if i select two, need to come this group by
    GROUP BY
    Name1,
    Country,
    MCC || '/' | MNC
    two output :
    Name1 - Country - PNR
I have only one sql query But i have two different group by
Please advise me, m not using subreport option.
whether any formulas or any other options for group by.

Try inserting the groups statically that are common for both the parameaters like this
    GROUP BY
    Name1,
    Country,
    MCC || '/' | MNC
and now create a formula like this
    whilereadingrecords;
    if =1 then
    {Name2 field}
    else
Now insert one more group using this formula and move the group to second level by using group options.
    Hope this helps!

  • One iPod, Two Computers, Two Countries.

So, I'm sure this has been hashed to death elsewhere, and this will either turn into a rant, or there will be a solution. So, here we go.
I'm an exchange student in Finland, and about 2 months after I got here, my iPod was hooked up my laptop, which then froze and completely wiped out my entire iPod of music. Absolutely blank. So, I've since gotten more music for the stupid thing. Now I'm just worried about when I go home and having that +stupid as ****+ message about "already sync'd with one library, delete everything to continue". I've gotten it here with my boyfriend's computer.
See, thing is, I'm not staying home. I will only be there for about a month and a half. And I cannot put all the music that I had on my home computer onto my laptop, because there is simply not enough room (I had over 12,000 songs, about 47 GB).
Now, if there's a way to have music for my library on an external drive and never have it actually taking up space on my laptop, then I suppose I could live. Please, dear god, tell me that is a viable option. I've been going nuts without my music.

I have two computers and one iPod.
I know I can use both of them with my iPod, as long
    as I add files manually.
Just wanted to know if there is a way to update it
automatically in a way that the files that came from
    the other computer aren't erased.
    Thanks
I also have two computers and one iPod. I have set up one computer to update library/playlists automatically, and have set up the iPod on the other computer for manual updates. Although the songs appear in iTunes, the playlists don't, and I can't move any songs to/from the computer/iPod. The manual says it can be done, but it isn't working. Have you been able to move songs to/from your iPod/computer since you set it up like that?

  • One app, two different Apple Dev accounts ... Will it work?

Building a standalone/single-issue viewer app for a client. We've asked to be invited to join their Apple Dev team, but the client proposes this workflow instead:
    Scenario 1
    • We use OUR iOS Provisioning Portal/Apple Dev account to generate all the certificates, provisioning profiles and the app ID needed to bake out the app.
    • We deliver the final binary (.zip file) to the client.
    • Client uses ITS iTunes Connect/Apple Dev account to deliver the binary to Apple, so that the client will be the publisher of record in iTunes.
WOULD THIS EVEN WORK? Can you really create an app using one Apple Dev account, then publish/manage it w/ iTunes Connect using another Apple Dev account?
    We've also heard this scenario:
    Scenario 2
    • Using our Apple Dev account, we generate: Development Certificate (.p12) and Development Provisioning Profile
    • Using, their Apple Dev account, the client generates: Distribution Certificate (.p12) and Distribution Provisioning Profile
    THEN …
1.) … WHO generates the App ID, considering that our dev and their dist provisioning profiles need to be tethered to the same App ID?
2.) If it's the client, how do we tether OUR dev provisioning profile to THEIR App ID?
    Big thanks in advance.

My only experience with publishing is to create both the dev and distribution apps, so I haven't tested that workflow yet. But I've heard of publishers who need to do what you're proposing. As I understand it, you would basically create the required cert files from two different Apple accounts. With your Apple account, you would create a dummy App ID (such as com.publisher.publication.test), and create the dev .p12 cert, the dev mobileprovision file, and the dev push cert. Your client would create the real App ID (such as com.publisher.publication) along with the distribution .p12 cert, dist mobileprovision, and dist push cert. Once you get these certs, you use Viewer Builder to create the app using the cert files from the combined Apple accounts. You would publish and test the development ipa file. If it all works properly, your client would sign in to Viewer Builder, download the distribution .zip file and submit it to Apple.
As I said, I haven't tested this workflow yet, but we're currently setting up a similar split environment.

  • One Interface - Two different maps - How to define which mapping to execute

    Hi all,
I have created a SalesOrderCreate soap interface to BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATE to create SalesOrders on ECC600 from a legacy application. Now I have another legacy app that needs to create SalesOrders, but with some different mapping rules, using the same bapi.
The first think I thought was to create another soap interface. But the principle of Enterprise Services is to use only one interface for each service (so, I was supposed to use the same soap interface). Then I have one soap interface and two different message mappings to the same BAPI.
The question is how can I define that when the message comes from legacy "A" the mapping "A" would be executed, and when the message comes from legacy "B", the mapping "B" would be executed.
    Thanks!
    roberti

    Hi,
    >>>> But the principle of Enterprise Services is to use only one interface for each service (so, I was supposed to use the same soap interface).
the concept of Enterprise Services is as you say
but in your case it means that you need to use the same mapping... <-- as it's a part of your WS!
you need to use the same soap interface without any changed inside it
(in your case inside your mappings)
if you want to reuse your first interface you can do this:
    - create another soap interface from second legacy to first soap interface
(there you can use another mapping)
this way you will reuse your previous work
this is Enterprise Services concept and not changing
web service logic (in this case mapping) for every new system

  • Two eMacs with two different problems..Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi i am new to the mac world and have recently aquired two eMacs, one with a minor problem - no sound from speakers other than at start up and no sound even through headphone jack, the other has a slightly more complicated problem, when you first turn it on it will not boot at all goes to a grey screen and there it sits, so i force quit and re-boot this time i get an apple and apples progress bar i call it looks like vertical lines in a circle and then there it sits, on the third time it finally boots in to OS X 10.3.2 i believe is the OS and i was told when i recieved this one that it will crash after sometime of stayin on. So any help or if this issue has been addressed please point me in the right direction.
    Thanks

    Hi jahnel,
First machine - not much clue I'm afraid... Am assuming you know to turn the sound up What I'd suggest is doing what I'm about to suggest for the second machine...
Second machine - Do you have the original eMac startup CD/DVDs? On them there is a program called Hardware Test, that performs a check of the computer's hardware. If you can run it, it can at least hopefully rule out any hardware issues that may be causing your problems.
Next idea, is to boot from the/a system instal disc, and perform a fresh instal of the Mac OS. Further, I'd first suggest re-initialising the hard drive, to give you a clean slate.
If the computer will not boot from the instal CD/DVD, what you can do is start the eMac in Firewire mode (Hold down the Command and "T" keys during startup), and connect the computer via firewire to another Mac. It will mount the eMac's hard drive onto the other computer, so that you can then use the other computer's optical drive to perform a System instal (In this case, you could actually use the "First machine" to perform the instal on the "Second Machine").

  • One ipod two computers need help please

I have two computers and 1 ipod 60gb video.Computer #1 is my old computer that stores my videos and music files (about 500 total)It has itunes and quicktime installed on it.I just bought a new sony laptop computer and I installed itunes and quicktime on it as well.I have been using my new computer to download all my new and resent music and videos files and storeing them on the new computer.Well I have about 100 or more music files on it now.My question is how do I transfer the new files on my new computer without deleting my old files on my old computer.I do not want to tranfer the files from old computer on to the new one.If I plug in the ipod to the new computer that does not have the old music files from the old computer then all my old music files will be deleted right since it updates the ipod automatactly itunes will detect that the old files are not on the new computer. How can I tranfer my new files to my ipod????I dont want to put my old music files on my new computer.Im new to the ipod world but i have read a bit on the discossions segment. Please please help any body that can give any suggestions.

I new to this so I'm not sure if this will work.I have been playing and trying different thing. Try making a new playlist, make sure that the music/book you want to add is in that playlist, and update just that playlist, under your preferences. When you are done you will have to change your preference to Manual update. This way I'm just uploading the new stuff and leaving the info that is on the iPod is not effected. I just added a couple of books on CD, listened to them while I ripped some more CD's I have into different playlists, and then added then later. Not sure if it will work with two computers. Right now I'm just working on my laptop, desktop is down and I have not replaced it yet. I hope this helps.

  • One profile - two names - problem

    Hello!
I couldn't sign in with my password. I requested a new one. I received email, sent to a different name of person. When I entered with the new password, it gave me a choice between two names for the same account and email address - mine!
I don't know who is this other person and how is attached to my email. I want to delete it from my account! How do I do that? Who can give me a support?
    Thanks in advance!

Hi, Georgina, and welcome to the Community,
Skype Customer Service will need to sort this for you; we here in the Community do not have the tools to respond to customer service requests, as is noted in out Community Guidelines
Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
Here are a few extra notes to guide you along the way ...
You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started. When you complete the web-form and click Submit, your information is relayed to Skype and you will receive a reply via e-mail unless you are transferred to start an instant message chat session with a Customer Service agent.
If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service, try again using a different web browser. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also impede reaching an agent.  Skype is aware of these problems, however people are getting through!

  • What can I do if not one but two different supervisors have promised to call me back but have not?

We had 4 lines and shared 6Gb/1Gb promotional of data.  Bill was appoximately $290 after receiving an employee discount through my employer of
22% on the plan (does not apply to the individual lines).
To make a long story short my wife called early in September about adding our oldest daughter back to our plan.  She spoke with a representative by the name of Devin who told her that our bill would NOT go up but instead would go down automatically once we moved to a plan with 10Gb and that the bill would be approximately $225-235 per month for the 5 lines.
September 15th before adding my daughter we called again to verify the charges and finding out what we had to do to add her back.  This representative also told me the bill would be $235 per month but couldn't explain why - she did see that it was in the notes.   I was also was told that it was best to add her the night after her employer plan stopped covering her phone.
September 18th before adding her we called to find out what we had to do to add her back.   This rep repeated what the others had said about the upcoming monthly charges.
The following Monday or Tuesday I called and talked with yet another representative trying to discover what was the reason for the bill dropping so significantly.  The lady I spoke with indicated that we were to get a $22 (NOT $25) discount per line.  I know its an odd figure thats why I remember it.
Sep 26th - called and spoke with representative who told me that we woud NOT be getting any discounts.  I then spoke with a supervisor (Derrick) who explained that we should have already been getting $25 off for two of the lines and gave us credit for 1 month charges but nothing else.   I asked him to pull the recordings - he said give him a week to investigate and make it right.
Oct 3rd - a week later - Derrick missed the callback.
Oct 4th - called and was advised that they had no way to get in touch with Derrick other than sending a message (I have to admit the gentleman was extremely pleasant - one of the better reps I've encountered) - said as much to his supervisor.
Oct 11th - talked with Priscilla and then her supervisor who said that one of the reps was her employee - would talk with her/pull the recording and call me back in an hour.  She never called back.
We never asked for any discount - it was a Verizon employee that told my wife that the bill would go down to $230.  Not once but 4 different times.  Two supervisors promised they would pull the recordings and call us back but never did.
I'm not stupid - If the recordings proved that we made this up or that Verizon had NOT told us that the bill would go down to $230 then they
would have called back and rubbed it in my face.   By them not calling back I know that they have discovered that we have stated the facts as
accurately as we can remember and have not made this up.
Is there anyone at Verizon that can resolve this situation to our satisfaction?  There's a lot of difference between the promised $110 discount and the $50 indicated by Derrick.

Don't worry you will not hear back if it's anything like my last few interaction with this company good luck. Oh you may have one of these online CSR tell you they are here to help but that just a smoke screen.

  • One Ipod - Two computers - Songs have seperated

    Hi There,
Hope somebody can help!! I have managed a while ago to move my itunes from one computer to another and everything worked hunky dory for a while however now all of a sudden the music that was on my original computer (computer 1) has dissappeared from my ipod. When I try to select and play the song using itunes on the 2nd comptuer it says the file is missing etc..... you can still see all the tracks but you cant play any of them and also they dont appear on the ipod.
I basically have two computers... computer one that has all my original songs on it and computer two which has everything I have downloaded since I got the 2nd computer. It still shows the computer 1 itunes in the library however they dont play or show up on the ipod.
I now have a third computer and I want to take all the itunes from both computers and move it on to the new computer. How on earth do I do this? I dont want to sit and put everything onto CDs...
Everytime I plug my ipod into the first computer it uploads all those songs, then If I plug it into computer two it wipes the computer one songs and replaces with computer two songs. I was driven up the wall with this last night. Argh... any ideas?

How did you "move" the songs to computer #2?
It sounds like what happened is you put them onto an external hard drive, or other storage format (CDR, DVD-R, etc), and added them to Computer #2's library. But the option to 'Copy added items to iTunes Music folder' is not checked in your preferences. So what happens is it adds the titles to your library but doesn't actually copy them to your computer #2 hard drive. So when the external drive, DVD-R etc. was removed from the system, iTunes no longer has access to the media files.

  • One iPod, two PCs.  iPod no longer recognized on on PC after latest updater

I have a 4G 20GB with color display that I sync to 2 PCs; my DT at home where my music library is, and my office laptop where I manage Podcasts.
About 2 weeks ago, after updating to iT6 (6.0.3) and the 1-10 updater, my laptop stopped recognizing my iPod - I get the message "USB Device not recognized". My DT sees the iPod fine.
I have tried all the R's twice, no help. Restoring and re-loading the library allowed it to sync 2-3 times, but now I am back where I started. I cannot afford the time to re-load 18GB every time I want updated podcasts on my iPod, and do not want to use my dt (actually my kid's PC) every time I want to get new podcasts.
    Any suggestions? TIA
IBM T40 Laptop   Windows XP Pro   2nd PC Sony Vaio Desktop

That's what i was afraid of...but that's extra work and doesn't allow you to jump to a certain track.
Thanks for the response- sounds like I either have to settle for keeping the iPod i've got and never putting new music onto it...or break down and spend the money on a new one. This one is barely past its warranty, tho, so it's tough to spend that kind of $ yet again for another iPod that won't last very long.
Does anyone know of any 3rd party repair people who can fix iPod touch?

  • One iPod, two computers....

I may be slightly naive here, but I have just bought a new computer and would like to transfer my existing iTunes library already on my 80GB iPod (and synced with my old, slow now defunct laptop), but the iTunes system is not letting me do this. Am I missing something fundamental here? Surely I should be able to transfer my library to a new computer. What have people done with the new iPads -they must be able to transfer their libraries from their old computers to their new iPads?
I look forward to hearing from someone shortly.

What you do is this. locate your iTunes folder; under Program Files...? (not too sure on PC)
Then find the 'iTunes Media' folder. It will be HUGE. (especially if you have films, music etc. Copy this folder to your new pc (this may be tricky... directly via cable or via external hdd however you can).
Install iTunes on your new pc and when it asks you whether you want it to look for music say no. Then drag your whole iTunes media folder into the itunes folder and overwrite the new one (empty) with your old one (HUGE).
Be sure not to delete the folder off your old laptop until you're sure that it has worked.
    Happy Hols
