Opening an app from an url + parameters

Is there a way to open an app from an url with parameters and read those parameters?

Now, i am using Flash pro to create my app, once packed it's tricky to mess up with the contents, is there a file i can edit, before rendering the app? for example is this something i can add in an xml file that is created in my app folder?
It starts with this:

Hi everyone,
I created a Director splash using Director MX2004 on WindowsXP. I published my project for Mac ("project.osx"). I also have a seperate project created in Flash CS4 that was published for Mac ("project.app"). Using buddyAPI, I cannot open "project.app" from a button used on "project.osx". Is this even possible to do? I cannot find any type of documentation on this issue...

Well.... I figured it out. I changed my delimiter to ":" for Mac (instead of "\"). Also, I was NOT telling it to open "project.app", I was telling it to open "project.osx".

No. The iPhone and Mac are totally different hardware architecture. Software compiled for one will not run on the other.

We have a swing application. If the application is already running on a machine, we kave a requirement of getting into that directly from an url which is sent in an email to the user. This would be something like google desktop does to open outlook etc from the search. What is the best way to achieve this?

No. Windows Store apps cannot directly open other apps. Launching protocols out files into the default handlers is the only option.
This launch can only be done while the app is on the foreground. You're probably calling this too early. Wait for the app to be fully initialized and running.

I'm trying to make a simple Xcode app, so that when people click a button, it will open another app, such as an AppleScript, which will run a code in Terminal. So for instance, click "Make my Mac speak" Then it would open the AppleScript and Terminal would pop open and run the code " say Hello, my name is Macintosh". Thats just an example of what I'm trying to do. Please can someone help me. I don't need help with the AppleScript part, just getting Xcode to open the AppleScript. Thank you!

Spaces opening random app from dock

I'm using spaces (9). Different space for different app (iTunes, Mail, etc). When I want to move some file/folder from one space to another one, I grab the file activate spaces (in my right top corner of my screen) move on correct space and press spacebar (it activate the space immediately). At that moment random app from dock is started.
What is wrong? How can I avoid this? It is very annoying.

You might try launchd which takes over many tasks of cron as well as other stuff, and to use it you might try Lingon, http://sourceforge.net/projects/lingon/files/, although it is now out of development. I used Lingon last year and found it quite useful, whether or no it is happy under SL I do not know. But there are lots of examples on the web about how to set up an agent for launchd and it might provide an alternative.
An iCal event is probably the easiest though, and you can hook in an automator script to make things really exciting.

If the App is Quit then either the Applications Folder, Launch Pad or the Dock to open the app.
In the Menu Bar icon is displayed (See General Section of the Preferences) it will only open the app as a Process of creating a New Messages entry in the main window.

How can I open an app from an e-mail link that is associated with link.

I get e-mails with links in them all the time (from forms, online shopping, etc). Some of those links are for websites that have an iphone app associated with them (especially forums). When I click on the link it tells me as much, and if I click "ok" to that dialog, it takes me to the App Store and to that specific App, where I can download it. Even when I have that app installed, rather than taking me to that app when I click on the link, I get the dialog again telling me that there is an app associated with their website (which I already know because I have the app). Is there any way to get these links to open in the associated App, rather than trying to open them up in the browser?

Opening web pages from address/url bar in new tabs

The primary reason I use Firefox instead of Safari is that I can enter a url in the address bar and the corresponding page will open in a new, foregrounded tab. I seem not to be able to do this in Safari, and neither the Saft nor the Safari Extender plug-ins appear to address this problem.
I know that I can press apple + T to create a new blank tab and then type in the address I want to go to. But is there anyway to have the website whose address I type into the address bar automatically appear in a new tab that is foregrounded and to the right of the tabbed window I was looking at?
I'm perplexed that this very basic feature is so difficult to locate and use in Safari.

Hitting deployed weblogic app from a url (weblogic 10.3.4, adf 11.1.1.4)

I have an appilcation that I have deployed to weblogic. I test this by logging into the machine where weblogic is installed, opening a browser and entering: http://localhost:7001/incomemax/faces/login (works great)
I have an external URL (www.imax-online.com), and that URL hits the apache root document location of my 'index.html' page, and the page is displayed.
What is the mechanism to get my weblogic app to load when someone hits my url? i.e. user hits 'http://www.imax-online.com' and they run/are forwarded to 'weblogic:7001/incomemax/faces/login'?
I think this is fairly simple, but my searching has not found anything yet. I tried to modify the 'index.html' page to forward to weblogic but that didn't work:

Web Forms - Opening a form from a URL in an Email

Hi. I use the following URL to call an Oracle Web Form from an e-mail (Lotus Notes client e-mail on Windows XP). This works fine as is, but it is not forcing the Web Form to open in Internet Explorer. On some user's PCs it opens in FireFox - I believe this might be because Firefox has been set as their default browser. Is there anything I can add to this URL that will force it to open in Internet Explorer?

Question is: why do you want to force your users to use Internet Explorer? My default browser is Firefox too, and I have to say I'd be pretty pissed if you'd force me to use Internet Explorer ;).

I'm wondering whether it's possible to open the new Maps app via a localised URL that can be bookmarked?
