Opening and Oracle Form (D2K) from ADF

Hi, We have requirement for developing new module in ADF, in parallel with our Oracle Application instance.
I would like to know, if there is any option to Open the Oracle Apps Sales Order form directly from the new ADF module, by clicking on a button.

I could get the URL, but the URL contains an ICX_TICKET number, which is generated dynamically by Oracle Apps. So I can't use a static URL for this.
Do you know how I can use or generate an ICX_TICKET in runtime? My user will have an active Oracle Application screen opened along with ADF web page. He want to navigate to Oracle Apps screen from ADF page. Hopes this makes the requirement more clear.

Hi,
I search for a example/source/demo for calling an Oracle Forms 11 "page" from an ADF (ADF Faces -> *.jspx) page.
I use Jdeveloper "Bulldog" with ADF BC and ADF Faces. I need the option to start an oracle forms application (which would build with new forms 11). A second session on databse is unproblematic.
Has anybody an idea? Some information from oracle experts?

Forms is started using a url, so the syntax would be like
http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=config_sectionconfig_section refers to a configuration-section in the forms-configuration-file "formsweb.cfg" there you can configure everything needed like the name of the form to start and (if desired) the userid and password forms should use to connect to the database).

Open Oracle Forms app from APEX

How can I open an Oracle Forms application from within APEX?
Right now, the Forms app is accessed simply through a Bookmarked hyperlink, so it seems to me I should be able to open a browser window and send it the same url from within APEX. Can someone provide all the details please? Thank You.

I don't know about Oracle Forms specifically... but you should be able to put a link to any arbitrary URL within your Apex application, and have the browser access that URL.
For instance, you can create a button and set that URL as the button's location, or create a Display-Only item with a default value set to a block of HTML including an <a href> tag.

Run Oracle Form Application from a JSP File.

I have a complete customized application made on Oracle Forms (10g) and I have .fmb and .fmx files, now problem which I am facing is I have to open the Oracle Form Application from my JSP page (which is used to login the user). My JSP page is just a simple page which I have placed it in path [C:\DevSuiteHome2\forms\j2ee\formsapp\formsweb] and I run it from browser as [http://localhost:port/forms/index.jsp].
How can I start my application from this JSP page? Please your help would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Inside your JSP page put <OBJECT> tag with all parameters and tags to open Jinitiator or java applet..

Hi,
Is it possible to have, say a small Java web app (JSP ie.) that calls/opens an Oracle Form?
- Is it possible to pass parameters to and from the Form?

Hello,
Forms is executed in a Java applet, so you can start it with a single HREF tag.
orms can also run some web application via the Web.Show_Document() built-in.

Oracle Spatial and Oracle Forms

Hi,
Does anyone have experience with Oracle Spatial and Oracle Forms?
I have generated a form, which is based on a view. The view uses the mdsys.sdo_relate operator. Somehow I am unable to get the form to perform (to get one record it takes over 20 minutes). While useing sql-navigator to process the same statement it seems no problem. The query that also uses the view, is then processed in 10 seconds.
I also noticed that when text-functions like ' lower' of ' upper' are used to query the view, the query is processed within 15 seconds. If I don't use ' lower' or ' upper' it takes a long time (> 20 minutes) to process the query. Is it possible that this causes the bad performance of the form?
On metalink I have found that forms and spatial do not cooperate because of the pl/sql version that
forms6 uses. There is no solution presented, does anyone know of a work around?
My configuration is:
Oracle 8.1.7 on WIN2K @ PIII-800Mhz 256 Mb memory.
Formsbuilder 6

1. Book - Pro Oracle Spatial for Oracle Database 11g by r. Kothuri, A. Godfrind, E. Beinat. This book provides a nice introduction on Oracle Spatial concepts and have examples.
2. Look at the Oracle Spatial & Graph User Guide
2. Book - Applying and Extending Oracle Spatial by S. Greener and S. Ravada. This book provides hands on information for advanced oracle spatial application developers. Practical guide on hands-on examples, Data models and develop cross-vendor database solutions.
3. This oracle spatial forum, once you understand these concepts.
In the future consider Certification on Oracle Spatial 11g Certified Implementation Specialist.

How to open and read many files from a directory and store contents in 2D array?

I want to make a VI that opens and reads the data from various files contained in a directory (200 files each with 2 columns) and store these in a single 2D array. For file number 1 I want to store the data from both columns in the 2D array, but for files 2 to 200 I only want to store the second column of each file. Can someone please help?

Thanks for your help. I have followed your instructions but i cannot get it to work. I used the LIST DIRECTORY to list the files in the directory - that works. However, how do I read each of the 200 files using READ FROM SPREADSHEET FILE without me having to manually select each of the 200 files? So, if I use LIST DIRECTORY to list all 200 files in an array, how do I get each of these to open and store the data in a 2D array? Here is what I have done (File called read_files.VI) Could you please help me? Thank you very much in advance.

To keep the file unchanged and work with a copy, click Duplicate." I clicked "unlock" and then another message came up with the options of OK, Cancel, or Revert. If I hit OK, I couldn't go back to my original picture. I clicked OK.
Then later I tried to open the picture in iPhoto and it doesn't recognize it, even though it is still a JPEG file. It still shows on my camera, but shows as a bland square in iPhoto. Have I lost the ability to open it in iPhoto? Will I be able to go to a store and print it out from my camera?

What software did you use and exactly what did you do and what exactly was the error message? There is a good chance that you will need help for the support for the program you used. Where was the photos you were editing not using iPHoto?

What version of iPhoto Had you imported the photo into iPhoto - iPhoto is not a photo viewer and can not open photos that have not been imported

For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys. Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it. It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process. How Do i Call An xml publissher and a jsper report from ADF pages

I used the above links to create XML's and from there a formatted report of data from the database. I accomplish this by connecting to the database inside the XMLPublisher.java file. I also have my query hard-coded inside the DataTemplate.xml to extract the info from the database. This limits my ability on what the user can accomplish with the system.
Is it possible to run my reports based on an iterator within Jdeveloper, as opposed to having to manually enter the query and connect to the database within the XMLPublisher.java file and the template.xml?

When you say that you rebooted, do you mean like this? Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If thats what you did and it failed, it couldn't hurt to reset your router as well by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds.
You can also try Resetting All Settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. That will require you to join the network again and that might trigger the connection again. No data is lost when resting all settings but as the name implies, all device settings will be restored to factory defaults and you will have to enter your preferred settings again.

To open a Word document from a USB drive, do it as you would do if the document is stored on the hard disk. Just double-click it and Microsoft Word should open with this document. If another application is opened or it doesn't open, right-click the file, select "Open with" and choose Microsoft Word
