  • Opening itunes from an old Hardrive

Ive installed a new harddrive onto my pc and now cant get into my old itunes library. the itunes logo is no longer on my desktop. Ive got the old drive running as a secondary hard drive so i can get into all the documents on the old harddrive, does anyone know if theres a way to open itunes from the old drive.
    Thanks for any help.

Not sure how you were moving it on the thumb drive, but this is a proper way to do it.
First put your entire iTunes music library folder on the thumb drive. This can be found in windows under \users\'your user name"\Music . The folder is labeled "iTunes", copy that folder with all of its contents to the removable  drive, install them on the Mac where you want them to be stored, the default location is inside the music folder in your user folder, but this can be anywhere. You may need to remove the iTunes library that is already stored in the music folder, but this is not necessary if you were putting it somewhere else.
Once the files are copied, hold down the option key and click on the iTunes Application in your dock. This will open a dialogue requesting you to choose the new library. Select choose library and navigate to the iTunes folder that you just copied over, once the iTunes folder itself is selected, hit open and voilà. That should do it...

  • When I try to open iTunes from my PC, I get a message "aps daemon.exe  MSVCR80.dll not found  reinstall"

When I try to open iTunes from my PC, I get a message "aps daemon.exe  MSVCR80.dll not found  reinstall"
I have redownloaded iTunes and still get the same message. It has to do with my Windows Vista in some way? I cannot sync my iPad2, iOS 7.0.4 with my PC.
Can anyone help me? I don't want to lose the thousand and one things I've bought.

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
If you still have the same error messages cropping up, then try the procedures from the following user tip:

  • I can't open iTunes from iPad 2

I can't open iTunes from iPad 2 can you help....?

I can't either! I'm currently connected to Wi-fi but it keeps  saying cannot connect to iTunes store. But safari works just fine. I don't know what's going on, but it's annoying me. Maybe they're updating a server or something? Idk I'm new to iTunes. I hope they fix it, what ever it is.

  • How do i connect and open itunes from my computer

how do i connect and open itunes from my computer

Organize the library from within iTunes, right-click any song, show it in the Windows Explorer, quit iTunes, go into the Windows Explorer, navigate up to the iTunes folder, drag that to the external drive, launch iTunes with the Shift key hald down, and point it to that instance of the library.

  • Transferring itunes from desktop yo laptop using usb stick?

I am currently trying to move my itunes music from desktop to laptop using usb stick, i can get the music onto the usb stick from my desktop then try to cut and paste it to itunes music folder but it dosent show up in itunes itself, what am i doing wrong?

Paste it into another location on the laptop, and then drag it from there into the open iTunes window. iTunes uses a database to determine what's in the library instead of looking at the content of the iTunes Music folder.

  • How can I transfer iTunes from Desktop PC to Laptop?

I have just brought a laptop and I would like to transfer my iTunes over from my desktop PC to my Laptop, does anyone now if this is possible and easy to do? Could I just download itunes from the internet on my Laptop or is it easier and better to transfer it all from my PC. My Laptop is Vista and my PC is running XP. Thank you.

The following article tells you how to do the transfer using an iPod. But the method is essentially the same whatever physical vehicle you use to copy files across. An external disk drive is good.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173
Be aware that when you transfer files from XP to Vista, you may run into permission issues as the the method involves copying the iTunes folder created on another computer to a Vista PC and vista is fussy about permissions. You need to be sure that your account on the vista PC has full control.

  • Move itunes from desktop to laptop

I currently have itunes on my desktop (all music/media stored on external hard drive) but i just purchased a laptop and would like to itunes only on the laptop instead of the desktop. Do i need to move the itunes folder from my desktop or could i just download/install itunes from my laptop and then upload all media from my external to the laptop?

Thanks for your response. So on my desktop, I go to My Music, move the itunes folder (as is, with previous itunes libraries, etc) to my external and upload it to the laptop? "Do I still have to download itunes on my laptop? Please reply. Thanks

  • I can't open iTunes from my Mac at all.

I get this error message: "The folder "iTunes" is on a locked disk or you do not have permission for this folder."  I'm very "un-techie" so I don't know what to do next.  I have not done anything different with the Mac, except it did an update earlier in the week.  Should I just reinstall iTunes?  Any help from the community would be so appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

Perhaps check to see if you're accidentally running two different versions of iTunes. There's some information on troubleshooting that in the Opening iTunes section of the following document:

When I say yes, the computer tells me I am up to date.
    Down loaded 10.7 yesterday.

    Hi,
My Son has an iPhone and we can get his phone to Play my iTunes songs
However on his Phone he gets a message about only playing the songs that are linked to his Apple ID (i.e on his own computer).
Is it possible to "Share" other peoples iTunes Libraries in the way described in this thread ?

  • Can't open iTunes from my desktop!

I have Windows XP, and when I double click on my iTunes icon, the service agreement comes up for less than 2 secs and then disappears - without taking me to iTunes. I have uninstalled my iPod, iTunes, etc and re-installed wihtout any success. This is very frustrating as it affects all three iPods in our house. If anyone has any solutions - please post them!
    Thx

wow, if i got a dollar for every post describing this same issue, i could retire.
I need WAYYYYY MORE info than what you provided.
I need to know, which Windows OS are you running and which service pack
I need to know which firewall and antivirus program are you running on your PC?
In your processes tab, do you SEE itunes AND quicktime and IF you do, does it stay there or flash away after a few seconds?

  • I try to open itunes from the desktop and It says that my library is locked

    ya thats my problem

According to a random website... the HTC Wildfire S uses a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor. This processor unfortunately does not support the full ARM version 7 instruction set, so Firefox cannot run on it.

  • Cannot delete a file or open it from desktop

Sorry if this is a repeat question, but I have not been able to find a good solution. When I try to delete a specific .aif file from my desktop, I get the following message:
The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8072).
When I click 'get info' to possibly edit the permissions on it so I can delete it, I am unable to edit anything in the info pane. Under the Sharing & Permissions tab, it reads "You have unknown access." When I try to open the .aif file in iTunes, I get the following message:
The Application "iTunes" can't be opened.
    -108
However, iTunes works perfectly for me for all other compatible filetypes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Jacob

Restart with the Option key held down and run repair disk from the recovery partition.
