Operating & Group Chart of accoutn

Hello,
I have following scenarios,
Four different company codes are in 4 differnt countries and they are having differernt operating chart of account.  they do not have any group chart of account and neithor alternate / country chart of account.
so, as of now all these 4 compnay codes are doing reporting to their respective country based on local reporting standards.
Now, i want to do the combined reporting for these 4 company codes.
so, what should i do?
steps
1)  create Group chart of account
2) Assign Group Chart of ACCOUNT to all the operative chart of account
3)  Mapping of account betwwen Group COA and Operative COA.
Now, i do not have idea how this can be done in customizing.
can anybody provide details or document for this...
also please suggest if any other sollution is suitabel as per your opinion.
Thanking you.
your suggestions and input will be rewarded with points.
Thanks for your help.

how we link operative chart of accounts, group chart of accounts to country specific chart of accounts.
how to maintain account groups and accounts to get consolidated report.

Group chart of account is used for reporting purpose only.
    business senario
your organization is spread into different countries where by they are legally bound to submitt account at a very detailed level but in other country it may be at a different pattern. what you can do is assign different operational chart of account to each company code (legal requirement) and assign all of those operational chart of accounts to a group chart of account i.e how your organization wants to see the accounts. by doing this you can have the report the way you want them to be regardless what operational chart of account the company code is using
    example
your group company want to see salary at   A01101 Employee related expenses
in Asian specific breakup is to be made at 11000 salary
                                                                  12000 allowances
in other countries detail is to be given at 11001 Salary officeres
                                                               11002 Salary Staff
in this case you can create 2 different operational chart of accounts for asia and other countries and than assign the same operational chart of account to your main chart of account
remember the group chart of account has to be created as normal chart of accounts
than assign each GL code to group account no
as far as the alternative no is concerned they can only be used for reporting purpose and alternate no helps the user to find the new GL code

  • Linking Multiple Group Chart of Accounts

    Hello,
    Our organizational structure is like
    ABC Holding Group
in ABC Holding Group there are several group of companies like AB Group, BF Group etc.
In AB Group, we have 2 companies PERU and JKRY
We have some confusion about the structure of COA in SAP, we are setting Operational Chart of Accounts for PERU and JKRY and will assigned Group chart of Accounts for AB Group then is it possible to assigned AB Group to ABC Holding Group by using ABC Holding group (Group chart of Account)?
ABC Holding Company (Group Chart of Accounts) Assigned AB Group COA
AB Group (Group Chart of Accounts) Assigned PERU and JKRY Operational Chart of Accounts
    Thanks,

  • Group Chart of accounts in Consolidation

    Hi All,
In one scenario there are three company codes and all the three are using the same chart of accounts as operational COA. My question is for consolidation purpose it is necessary to maintain the same COA as group COA and assign it operational COA? Thanks in advance.
    Srinivas.

    Hi Adi,
Thanks for the reply.  Is it compulsory that we have to maintain a group COA for consolidation purpose? even though all the three company codes uses the same operatinal COA.  If it is cumpulsory, in OB13 can we maintain the operational COA as Consolidated/Group chart of a/c?  In our case for ex:OCOA.

  • Query About a Group Chart of Account

    Hello SAP Gurus,
My client has configured group Chart of Account for consolidation as well as keeping the GL code stucture uniform throughout the Global company codes. However, in OBY3 I can see that the same COA has been assigned as "Group COA". Also to inform you that all the company codes around the world use the same COA as their operating COA. They are not using different COAs.
Please let me know how this is possible? Can the same COA is assigned as Group COA to itself? I think a separate COA is created as Group COA and assigned to this operating COA.
    Please clarify my doubt.
    Thanks in advance
    Sagar

    Hi sagar
i will tell you how the group COA works.
suppose you have 2 company codes and you maintain same chart of account for both company codes. for consolidation you will have to maintain a group COA as your company is doing already.
now we maintain same account group and numbers too but for group COA and operational COA for option 1 as i said..
now there is a configuration we do
    see              fin a/c -
    > prepration for consolidation -
    > general specification   ..
thus for fetching consolidated data in the f.01 we give the global COA nd the FSV maintained for the same..
see whether your company is following this procedure if not then ask the end users how they fetch the consolidated data?
    what process they follow.
    regards
    Rohit

  • Impact of activing Group Chart of Account alone

    Dear Experts,
What if i just active group chart of account and without enabling the whole consolidation funciton, what potential impact i might get?
    Thanks for any advices!
    Br
    Sophie

    Hi,
Consolidation function is a total different set of activiteis. Consolidation is generally done by using ec-cs on different instance with the use of BI folowing the set of procedures.
If you just activate the group chart of account you need to give respective account number while defining the Operating COA. With the help of this you can create FSV & different reports based on accounts & FSV on group coa level.

I want to create a template for Group Chart of Account, Operating Chart of Account and Company Code Chart of Account.
In that I have a fields related to Operating chart of account only thing is how to find the fields related to Group Chart of account.
I want to use this field to develop a auto creation of GL account.
Please help me to prepare the template related to Group Chart of Account.
    Thanks and regards,
    Dev Mahendra

    Hello,
There are three chart of accounts will be there in the system.
    1. Operating Chart of Account - for day to day activities
    2. Group Chart of Account - for group reporting
    3. Country Chart of Account - for legal reporting in the country
Any chart of account is a chart of account. Every chart of account irrespective of operating or group or country chart of account will have two segments.
    1. Chart of Account Segment
    2. Company Code Segment
Both the segments can be created through FS00.
You have create a recording through LSMW and create each chart of account.
Refer the following link for LSMW
    www.scmexpertonline.com/downloads/SCM_LSMW_StepsOnWeb.doc
Before uploading data thorugh LSMW, create chart of account names in OB13.
If you assign group chart of account to operating chart of account in OB13, Group account field will appear in GL account of operating chart of account.

  • Group Chart of A/c

    hello all,
My client has two company codes and they want to prepare consilidated balance sheet as well as separate b/s  but they have two chart of a/c how the b/s can be mapped to consolidation .
    Urgent
    give the steps of configuration
    points will be given

Firstly create your Group Chart of Accounts Same as you Create operating Chart of Accounts.
Then go to tcode OB13, & double cick on the name of your operating Chart of Account, there you will find one Block ' Group Chart Of account' in that space give the name that Group Chart of Account which you created earlier and save it.
Then go to Tcode FS00 and open the accounts of your Operating Chart of Accounts. in the type/discription in the last you will find a new block i.e Group a/c number. There you have to give the a/c no. of your Group Chart of A/c.
for e.g. you created rent1having no. 01 in your operating chart of Account & Rent a/c in your chart of a/c having no.00.
Then this no. 00 you have to put it into that block which i mentioned earlier.
for generating reports use T code f.01 and put the name of Group chart of account in the block for consolidated balancesheet.
    Hope it will be useful

  • Add Group Chart of Account.

    Hi,
What need to be consider to add a group chart of account to an existing operating chart of account?
    Thanks,
    xj

    Hi,
u can create group chart of accounts thru ob13 and after that assign group chart of accouints to operating coa thru ob13 and maintain account groups thru obd4 for group coa and first create the group account(g/l) thru FSP0 and this account u can assign in operating coa thru fs00 here in first tab itself it shows the group account number u can assign and save when ever u post the transaction those values are automatically stored in group account number.
if u have any doubt let me know.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Purpose of Group chart of Accounts

    Hi,
Can anybody kindly let me know what is the purpose of having a group chart of accounts for all company codes having a common operating chart of accounts. How is this used in consolidation.

    HI,
Group chart of accounts is used In this scenario we assume that
for the data transfer in your group, you only use the realtime update and/or the rollup
the operational accounts do not agree 1:1 with the FS items of Consolidation, therefore you require the group accounts for the transfer of operational accounts into FS items
Please assign points if it useful

  • Posting in group chart of accounts

    Hello,
I have assigned a group of chart of accounts to my operating chart of accounts and mapped the group GL account number in the operating GL account master.
All the doc types and number ranges are duly defined and assigned.
MY issue is when I post to GL account(in op.chart of accounts) the entry is not posted to group account.
So my question is doesn't the  posting happen automatically to the group account when entry is posted to the GL in op.chart of accounts or should I run any programme to consolidate or is there any config steps I missed ?
    Anil

    Hi,
Group Chart of accounts or Country Chart of accounts will never have separate postings to GL.
These are for reporting purpose only.
If you mapped your group account number / country account number with the operational GL account number, then you use use them in GL balances reporting only.
Ex: While running S_ALR_87012279 - Structured Account Balances, you need to enter a chart of accounts in the selection screen. So here if you enter the group chart of accounts key, then the report will replace the operational GL account number with group account number in the output. Same will be appilicable in case of country chart of accounts are used.
    This will clear your doubt.
    Thanks,
    Srinu

  • Group Chart Of Accounts and Group Account Number

    Hi SAP Gurus,
For the sake of consolidated reporting, we are planning to create group chart of accounts and assign a Group account number to the GL account master. The structure is going to be like this:
Operating Expenses (Group Account : 461000).
Air Conditioning Exp   (GL account 461000001)
    Elevators                   (GL account 461000002)
Coffee and snacks      (GL account 461000003)
This is being done to achieve a detail level reporting at the company code level and a consolidated reporting at a group level where the reporting would be based on group account or FSIs. We would define a financial statement version based on FSIs.
My question is : do we need to activate the consolidation (EC-CS) module to push the data to the FSIs or the data would flow automatically to the group account if we assign this to the GL master. If we go to fetch the data from the ECMCT table, do we need to have a consolidation unit?
    Any inputs are highly appreciated.
    thanks
    sri

    Hi,
There are certain preliminary steps to be carried out in ECCS. You can find them under SPRO->Enterprise Controlling->Consolidation->Integration: Preparation for Consolidation.
You need to choose the type of consolidation, create Company, link it to Cons Unit in ECCS, Creating/Copying FS Items (each account in Group COA will have an FS Item; 1:1),  etc.,
After the setup, you actually need to carry out Rollup or Flexi Upload for importing FI data into ECCS FS Items. This is done to Data Monitor - CXCD.
In ECMCT, typical selections would be Dimension, Cons Unit, Cons COA, FS Item.
I suppose these preliminary steps are requried for the data to flow to FS Items.
    Hope this clarifies.
    Rgds.
