FRM-40735 / ORA-06508 when calling an attached package's procedure
Hello all,
I've a problem when calling a procedure in one of my attached libraries. the code is :
when upper(trim(NOT_MSG_NAME)) = 'REN_MSG_REQ_REG_PERMENANT' then SERV.CLFRM_PBL_NRQP_F(:Parameter.NOTIFICATION_ID);
and it gives me FRM-40735 stating that an ORA-06508 has occurred when calling the procedure.
Important and funny thing is, when I add the path to the library , It works fine!
When I attach it, removing the path, It goes wrong like I said..
the location of the library is:D:\DevSuiteHome\cgenf61\ADMIN , the path is added in FORMS_PATH and all the other
libraries attached to the form in the same path are working fine !
I'm using forms builder 10.1.2.0.2, and the platform is windows and I've migrated from forms 9.0.4.0.19
anybody having any ideas what the problem may be?Thank you Sarah
In fact, somebody had modified the formsweb.cfg adding two working directory directives (It's a shared PC!). I recon none of them works though no configuration error is raised. I omitted both of them and the problem is gone .
thank you again. -

krishnaiah.Hi,
This is usually a SERVER SIDE DATABASE PROBLEM or SQLNET LISTENER (server side) PROBLEM. The client side should initially be ignored and instead the server should be investigated. In rare cases, this can be caused by client
side memory or other resource problem, or a DLL version mismatch, but this is
unlikely.
Enlist the assistance of your DBA. Then reproduce the ORA-3113 error on your
client application. Ask your DBA to look at the database side Alert.log and
trace files and look for ANY activity. Any activity that coincides with your
ORA-3113 will be a clue.

nullHi,
What is the implementation of your Web service? If it's another EJB then you have to define an ejb-local-ref in the deployment descriptor for that other EJB, like this:
<ejb-local-ref>
<ejb-ref-name>ejb/MyProcessorBean</ejb-ref-name>
<ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type>
<local-home>your.package.BiasProcessorLocalHome</local-home>
<local>your.package.BiasProcessorLocal</local>
</ejb-local-ref>
If it's not a J2EE component, there is no java:comp environment naming context (ENC) available. In this case you can look up the EJB local home from the "localejbs/" context, e.g. "localejbs/provider.name/YourAppName/YourEjbName". By default the provider name is "sap.com".
For more information please refer to <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/webas/java/accessing%20ejb%20applications%20using%20jndi.pdf">this article</a>.

Issue in Calling PL/SQL packages using callable statement
Hi ,
I have the requirement of calling two pl/sql packages , After call of first package is successful , i need to pass the output of that first package as input to second package.
Since i have called both the packages in same method of AM, first package gets executed successfully but second package doesnt get the input values required from first package and results in error.
Looks like since commit is happening in the single session second package is passed with NULL values.
Need suggestion for proper way of calling pl/sql packages when second package is dependant on first one:
Code used inside AM Method:
if("PENDING_XXX".equals(regVORow.getRegStatus()))
regVORow.setRegStatus("VENDOR_CREATED");
getOADBTransaction().commit();
OracleCallableStatement cStmt = null;
OADBTransaction dbTxn = getOADBTransaction();
NUMBER vendor_id = new NUMBER(-1);
NUMBER vendor_site_id = new NUMBER(-1);
int vendor_id_value = -2000;
String vendor_number = null;

cStmt.setString(1, regVORow.getSupplierName());
cStmt.setNUMBER(2, new Number(Integer.parseInt(supplierId)));
cStmt.registerOutParameter(3, 4);
cStmt.execute();
vendor_id = cStmt.getNUMBER(3);
vendor_id_value = vendor_id.intValue();

getOADBTransaction().commit();
AsiPosSupplierOpCosVOImpl regOpCosVO = (AsiPosSupplierOpCosVOImpl)this.getAsiPosSupplierOpCosVO1();
AsiPosSupplierOpCosVORowImpl row = null;
int fetchedRowCount = regOpCosVO.getFetchedRowCount();
RowSetIterator createIter1 = regOpCosVO.createRowSetIterator("createIter1");
if(fetchedRowCount > 0)

There are some validation that can be performed from Entity level ( EO ) , you can go through them in Jdev guide .
It depends on the business requirement , not all validation can be performed from Entity level .
Let us know your business requirement , will try to clear your doubt .

How can I get error message when calling pl/sql
Hi,
I call a pl/sql java wrapper generated by Rosetta.
public static void startWf(
OracleConnection _connection,
BigDecimal p_goal_header_id,
BigDecimal p_submiter_userid,
String p_commit,
String p_init_msg_list,
String [] x_return_status,
BigDecimal [] x_msg_count,
String [] x_msg_data
) throws SQLException
the pl/sql is written by the standard way of OAF backend,
PROCEDURE start_wf ( p_goal_header_id in number
,p_submiter_userid in number
,p_commit in varchar2 DEFAULT FND_API.G_TRUE
,p_init_msg_list in varchar2 DEFAULT FND_API.G_FALSE
,x_return_status out varchar2
,x_msg_count out number
,x_msg_data out varchar2);
when running this procedure in TOAD, in case of error, following script can print error message:
if l_return_status <> 'S' then
dbms_output.put_line('Result');
dbms_output.put_line('status: '||l_return_status);
dbms_output.put_line('error count: '||l_msg_count);
dbms_output.put_line('Loop Error');
dbms_output.put_line('Err: '||fnd_msg_pub.get(-1,p_encoded=>'F'));
for i in 2..l_msg_count loop
dbms_output.put_line('Err: '||fnd_msg_pub.get(p_encoded=>'F'));
end loop;
end if;
if l_return_status = 'S' then
dbms_output.put_line('Success');
end if;
end;
My question is when calling pl/sql java wrapper from Java, in case of Error, return_status="E", then in order to get exact error msg, is there any equivalent java method such as get error from pageContext or OADBTransaciton.. etc instead of calling again pl/sql fnd_msg_pub.get to get error msg?
thanks
LeiLei,
You can use
checkErrors(OADBTransaction pTx,
int pMessageCount,
String pReturnStatus,
String pMessageData)
method in OAExceptionUtils Class.For details look at javadoc of OAExceptionUtils Class.

Why do I get Error -1073807343 when calling the open visa function ?
Hello,
I am running a Labview 6i under Linux (kernel 2.4) and I have Error -1073807343 when calling the open visa function. I have verified the name of the session (GPIB0::9::INSTR), and I can communicate with my instruments with ibic.
More informations : I use NIVISA 2.5 and nigpib-0.8.2. I have downloaded the lastest drivers of my instruments but it doesn't work better.
Thanks very much for your help.We've had several NI-VISA releases since 2.5 - so I suggest you upgrade to NI-VISA 3.0. While there isn't anything specific to your type of problem in the Linux version of our readme.txt, I know we've made a number of other fixes.
While the most recent release is NI-VISA 3.1, I still recommend you upgrade only to 3.0.
This is because NI-VISA 3.1 requires the new NI-488.2 release for GPIB-ENET to be installed (even though you aren't using that product). This is due to some internal rearchitectures, and the PCI-GPIB product is not released. If you do want to go with NI-VISA 3.1, the new NI-488.2 release for GPIB-ENET on Linux will still work with the PCI-GPIB beta driver that you have installed.

ORA-04062 occurs when executing a form that contains a call to a DB package
We have an application that is written in Forms 6i. We just recently deployed
this to a test server. When trying to run forms that have calls to database
packages that have a PL/SQL table as a parameter, we are getting an ORA-04062
error. This does not occur on our development server. I did some research on
Metalink and found lots of information about this error. One of which was NOTE
73506.1. I thought this was our problem. I added the initialization parameter
REMOTE_DEPENDENCIES_MODE = SIGNATURE to the init.ora file for the test server.
This did not seem to help. I am at a loss as to what to do next. We actually
have 3 servers that we are working with right now. Here is a summary of some
tests that we did.
Compiled Form against Database on Server 1. The form worked on Server 1 and
Server 2. It did not work on Server 3.
Compiled Form against Database on Server 2. The form worked on Server 1 and
Server 2. It did not work on Server 3.
Compiled Form against Database on Server 3. The form worked on Server 3. It did
not work on Server 1 or Server 2.
We had changed the init.ora file on Servers 2 & 3 to have the
remote_dependencies_mode = signature. So I expected the form to work on those
two servers (2 & 3) and not on server 1.
We never had this problem when we were Forms 4.5, but we didn't have the PL/SQL
table functionality then either.
It appears to work on any schema on the Server that the form was compiled
against regardless of the timestamp for the package on that schema.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.After many long and frustrating days, I have finally figured out what the problem is.
In the package that was failing, it was creating a pl/sql table that had 3 columns. Two of those columns were using a %TYPE as the declaration. The problem one was compounds.name%TYPE.
It turned out that the server that was having the problem had this column's definition being VARCHAR2(50) on all of its schemas. The form was being compiled against a database that had this column set to VARCHAR2(30). The 30 length is the correct definition. We aren't sure how all the schema's on that server got messed up, but that is the problem. Once we dropped the table and recreated it with the correct definitons, the form that called the package worked as it should.
I am a little confused as to why the %TYPE didn't work at runtime. I thougth that the purpose of using a %TYPE was so that if the column defintion changed after the code was compiled, that it would use whatever the definiton is at runtime. Is this not true?

There is not way we can change the package name. How do we fix it on the java side?
Regards,
PraveenThe statement 'ORA-01948' is coming from the database and not your java program. Therefore you cant fix it on the java side. There is some stored procedure, stored function, or other such code on the database that is too long. Use a database utility tool such as 'Toad' to examine the database and see if you can find what SYS.DBMS_PICKLER means.
Here is a definition of ORA-01948 I found on the internet:
ORA-01948: identifier's name length (string) exceeds maximum (string)
Cause: A name has been specified that is too long. For example, dbms_session.is_role_enabled() specifies a role name that is too long.
Action: Change the application or command to use a correct identifier.
