    Initially I would try calling the subscribe package standalone in SQL*plus or TOAD just to check its not somekind of config problem...
    The subscribing adapter trys calling the subscribing package passing in the message as an oracle data type.
    I would write a small pl/sql wrapper that calls you subscribing package outside of the runtime Interconnect environment. If this all works and you can insert data into the table then it maybe something to do with the metadata in the repository and then i'd go along with Ian's suggestion.
    But usually if you can successfully use iStudio to edi things then usually the repository is OK.
    Also from your log you can see that it has picked up the message and is trying to call the packaged/procedure so it looks like the adapter is working OK.
    Cheers Stuart.

  • Error when starting oracle instance

    Hi,
    today, after a lot of trouble, I was able to install oracle 10.2.0.1 on redhat as 4 upd 2 x86_64.
    This link helped me so much http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle10g.shtml help.
    I met a link error because of binutils version. After I installed binutils-2.15.92.0.2-15.0.0.0.2.x86_64.rpm (my version was binutils-2.15.92.0.2-15.0.0.0x86_64.rpm), I did retry and the install problem was solved.
    Then during dbca I met another error (ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact) because of libaio. I had 32 bit version instead of 64 bit. After the package update dbca run successfully.
    I'm facing the following problem during instance startup:
    "Thu Apr 19 17:40:17 2007
    Errors in file /oracle/admin/UAT/udump/uat_ora_2697.trc:

    ORA-36961: Oracle OLAP is not available.
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.OLAPIHISTORYRETENTION", line 1
    ORA-06512: at line 15"
    I told you those things about installation phase because maybe this error is related to the install (maybe something went wrong without I know it).
    Error in trace is:

  • Error message when starting MaxDB instance

    I am getting the following Error message when starting the MaxDB instance after a series of failed attempts at starting the DB Manager Backup for our PI 7.1 server.
    "-24994,ERR_RTE: Runtime environment error
    1,Cannot create ipc db directories for SID (OS error code 11000)"
    Max DB version : 7.7.02
    Does anyone have any specific pointers on where the issue could be.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Murali Narayanan

    Hi gurus,
    I'm a complete newbye searching the forums in order to decrypt what is inconsistent to me (I'm acting as a substitute for a real dba): a sapdb refusing any more connection due to an 'user space exhausted' issue.
    I do not even know if/where some admin tool is/isn't installed - eventually, what to look for - onto the running demianapachetomcat framework. Actually, all I have been provided was: 1. call 'Henplus' (done); 2. connect this way (jdbc:sapdb://localhost/database&options) and 3. select, upgrade, delete what needed. Problem arises on point (2): connection resufed 'user space exhausted'.
    My question is: this issue seems so similar to mine, how can one eventually check/modify this '/sapdb directory space'?
    Thanks in advance for any (much appreciated) hint, and be patient about my English and newbyeness (?).

  • WLS http access logs not written to when starting WLS instance using nodemanager

    When starting managed WLS instances using node manager the HTTP access logs are
    not written to (the WLS log in the same directory is written to). All other functionality
    of the WLS instances seem to operate just fine when started using node manager.
    When we start the same managed WLS instances using a start-up script the HTTP
    access logs are written to.
    ===
    How can we get HTTP access logs to be written to when starting a WLS instance
    using node manager?

    I think I know the answer to this one!
    I got bitten by the same bug (at least I think it is a bug). Check the location
    specified for the HTTP-access log for your server instance. It is probably a relative
    location, right?
    According to the docs, relative paths should start from the Root Directory (see
    your Remote Start config), but it seems like the BEA-programmers forgot to retrieve
    the Root Directory and instead blindly writes to the process' current working
    directory (CWD).
    And when started by the Node Managet, the CWD = WL_HOME/common/nodemanager.
    If you are as paronoid as I am (and you should be too), that directory should
    not be writeable by anyone. Because my BEA installation was owned by 'bin', and
    the processes run by 'beawls', I got an error message in my NM-logs pointing to
    the problem. In your case, you are probably running NM as a user that has write-access
    to your NM-home, and all your missing HTTP-access logs are deep, down there.

    Good Bye .....

    Hi wee,
    It is possibly the network issue,not the problem with the installation/configuration/memory setup.
    Try restarting the whoel machine,may be DNS configuration may be corrected after the rebbot.
    Thats what the log says "Mon Oct 08 10:01:46 2007
    WARNING => DpNetCheck: NiAddrToHost(1.0.0.0) took 4 seconds
    ***LOG GZZ=> 1 possible network problems detected - check tracefile and adjust the DNS settings [dpxxtool2.c 5227]"
    Also start the instance manually after the machine restart.
    If it doesn't work,there could be some problem with OS.

  • ORA-12505 when starting OC4J_Workflow_Component_Container

    Hello, I hope this is an easy question for you...
    I installed Workflow Server 2.6.3 into my Oracle Home (Ora10g Rel 1 database) on a linux box.
    When I executed wfinstall.csh to run the Workflow Configuration Assistant, I mistakenly entered an incorrect value into the "JDBC Connection" field!!
    Thus the following ORA-12505 error appears in the logfile when the OC4J_Workflow_Component_Container is started. See, the error is at the bottom here:
    =============snip================================
    WorkflowCA: /usr/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/jdk/bin/java -Djava.security.properties=/usr/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/oc4j/j2ee/home/config/jazn.security.props -jar /usr/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/oc4j/j2ee/home/oc4j.jar -userThreads -config /usr/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_Workflow_Component_Container/config/server.xml

    java.sql.SQLException: Listener refused the connection with the following error:
    ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor.
    The Connection descriptor used by the client was:
    rac3:1521:rgcsd
    =================snip============================
    I need to know how to change the jdbc connection from "rac3:1521:rgcsd" TO THE CORRECT VALUE "rac3:1521:rgcsd1"
    I tried rerunning wfinstall.sh in both Install mode and Update mode and inputting the correct value (rac3:1521:rgcsd1), but it continues to use the old incorrect value (rac3:1521:rgcsd).
    How can I edit this?
    Thanks in advance! I'd love to get this resolved before the weekend, if you know what I mean.

    That was a good note.
    One additional note, that we may not want the password for the workflow schema in data-sources.xml to be clear text in the Server filesystem. We might want to store redirected password where password field in data-sources point to the encrypted password stored under the user in jazn-data.xml.
    Thanks, Vijay

  • Error ORA - 12637 when start Oracle 8i Personnel

    I have install oracle 8i personnel to the window 98 notebook. The installation successful without any error. But when I used the oracle8i navigator and click on the local database, error "ORA-12637: Can not attach to Oracle 8i" and "ORA-12637 - Packet Receive Failed"
    The same error encountered when I start the database.
    Appreciate if any could help on this matter.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    Check weather entries are there in the registry.
    Go to the services in the control panel and see if the oracle service has started if not start it. If this is up then the registry is OK. if If not u can create it using the oradim utility.
    Then set your oracle_sid = <dbname> in the dos prompt and try connecting again.

  • WebUtil gives FRM-40735 When-Custom-Item-Event ORA-06508 when starting form

    I have downloaded and installed/configured webutil on RH Linux AS2.1 per the manual and readme file.
    ( jacob.jar and webutil.jar signed on NT machine per instruction then loaded on LINUX server webutil/lib )
    I have incorporated webutil with an existing form as follows:
    1. linked webutil.pll
    2. subclassed webutil from webutil.olb
    3. compiled all
    4. compiled module
    Form was deployed on 9iAS.
    When the applet loads the following is displayed in the java console:
    Downloading http://myserver.mydomain.com:7779/forms90/webutil/webutil.jar to JAR cache
    Loading http://myserver.mydomain.com:7779/forms90/java/f90all_jinit.jar from JAR cache
    Loading http://myserver.mydomain.com:7779/forms90/java/pfs.jar from JAR cache

    Loading http://myserver.mydomain.com:7779/forms90/java/f90all_jinit.jar from JAR cache
    Loading http://myserver.mydomain.com:7779/forms90/java/pfs.jar from JAR cache
    RegisterWebUtil - Loading Webutil Version 1.0.2 Beta
    connectMode=HTTP, native.
    Forms Applet version is : 90270
    When the form containing webutil is called, the following is displayed in the java console and the error mentioned in this topic's subject is given:
    2003-Jul-10 16:53:32.607 WUI[VBeanCommon.findLocalHost()] obtaining LocalHost info from InetAddress
    2003-Jul-10 16:53:32.707 WUF[VBeanCommon.findLocalHost()] obtaining LocalHost info from InetAddress

    Why can't webutil find the bean method/function?

    Per a previous suggestion, I have created a simple form module with one block containing a single push_button.
    The when-button-pressed trigger contains a simple call to client_get_file_name.
    I then:
    1. Attached the webutil.pll
    2. subclassed webutil from webutil.olb
    3. compiled all plsql
    4. created then deployed fmx
    The same errors are generated when this simple form loads without any calls to webtuil.
    I added the following debug code to the when-custom-item-event triggers of each bean area item in the webutil block:
    declare
    dataType pls_integer;
    dataPayload varchar2(32000 char);
    begin
    WEBUTIL_CORE.CustomEventHandler(:SYSTEM.CUSTOM_ITEM_EVENT,:SYSTEM.CUSTOM_ITEM_EVENT_PARAMETERS);
    exception
         when others then
         get_parameter_attr(:system.custom_item_event_parameters,'WUC_DATA',dataType, dataPayload);
         pfsutil.dbug(get_application_property(current_form_name)||'-WebUtil: '||'Item: '||:system.trigger_item||' Event: '||:system.custom_item_event||' :'
         ||'Data: '||dataPayload||' Error: '||sqlerrm);
    end;
    The following information is captured in the log:
    17:07:59 WEBUTILTEST-WebUtil: Item: WEBUTIL.WEBUTIL_CLIENTINFO_FUNCTIONS Event: WUC_REGISTER :Data: WUI|192.168.111.2|Windows NT|Administrator|;|\|en Error: ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called

    When we are opening the database following errors are coming in sequence as follows:
    ORA-01122, ORA-01110 and ORA-01251
    Other facts:
    We don’t have any backup.
    Database is not in archive mode.
    Personally I don't see any hope.
    What you guys think?

    Ok see this
    SQL> startup
    ORACLE instance started.
    I tried do media recover in case of NOARCHIVE log mode. You can try the same in you case too

  • Please help: ORA-04030: Out of Process memory error when starting 9.0.1 iFS

    When starting the 9.0.1 iFS running on a 9.0.1.4 Database and Tru64 5.1 O/S, the following errors are displayed:
    IFS-35205: Failed to get prepared statement
    java.sql.SQLException:ORA-04030: Out of process memory when trying to allocate 1048 bytes (callheap,kghsstk).
    Database has the following parameters:
    shared pool 150M
    java pool 100M
    large pool 5M
    DB Cache 60M
    DB Block Size 8K
    Sort area size 1M
    Server has 1GB ram, 12GB swap.
    Please can anyone help?

    Hi Alan,
    your help with this is most appreciated!
    I ran your suggested generated SQL script, but at first the same problem was occuring with the first ALTER statement that happened to be generated.
    However, your explanation mentioned the view 'odm_publicobject' and although this view wasn't in the resulting SQL, I found that compiling the similarly named views in this order worked...
    ODMV_PUBLICOBJECT
    ODBV_PUBLICOBJECT
    ODMBS_PUBLICOBJECT
    ODMS_PUBLICOBJECT
    ODUS_PUBLICOBJECT
    ODUV_PUBLICOBJECT
    (Perhaps other combinations would have worked, but in anycase certainly some orders didn't work...)
    At this point, running the complete original generated SQL script then worked successfully and low and behold as you predicted, IFS started successfully.
    (I didn't actually bother removing these 6 already re-compiled views from the original script, so they got re-compiled twice...)
    So this means that we can now actually stop and start IFS as required without re-installing IFS everytime - which is obviously great!
    I will certainly be watching out for 9.0.3, but my understanding for the reason we were going with 9.0.1 in the first place was that this was included in the RDBMS CD-pack, whereas I believe from 9.0.2 onwards it was seperately licensed. I will check with our Oracle dba's.
    But at least we can prove in principle now whether it will suit our requirements....
    Once again, many thanks for looking into this at such a deep level - very much appreciated.
    Graham.
